I've visited Route 66 Endodontics twice--once a year ago and again recently. During my first visit, I needed a root canal. Dr. Hadi Sheeb was unprofessional; he spoke rudely to his dental hygienist and used deficit-based language when referring to my dental health. This week, I returned due to severe tooth pain. I had an appointment in 2 days but I couldn't take the pain. I left a message on the emergency line after hours, but no one ever followed up. During the exam, Dr. Sheeb applied something cold to my tooth, which caused me to jolt in pain. He didn't check to see if I was okay--he just stared at me and proceeded to test another tooth. He then told me I needed to pinpoint the pain myself and suggested it might go away or be caused by grinding. I felt dismissed, unsupported, and deeply frustrated. I was so overwhelmed I began to cry in the waiting room. I called my general dentist, who asked to speak with Dr. Sheeb. The front desk only provided a tooth number and said the doctor was with a patient. Thankfully, my dentist referred me to another endodontist who immediately diagnosed the issue and performed a root canal. That doctor was shocked that I had been turned away despite being in obvious pain. I will not be returning to Route 66 Endodontics. Patients deserve to be treated with empathy and urgency--especially when in severe pain. read more

I had the most amazing experience from the first phone call to set up an appointment, to the initial paperwork handed by the front desk, to the finance department going over my costs, to the actual procedure itself with the Dr. & assistant. I am SO grateful I was recommended to come here. Everyone was so kind and careful while explaining their process. Jennifer was amazing with assisting Dr. Karia . She was gentle and heard me out with all of my anxieties and fears.Dr. Karia was amazing! He did not make me feel rushed or dumb about my anxiety, and helped talk me through the entire process. I ended up getting the laughing gas because I just could not stop being tense and shaky, and I am glad I did. It really helped relax me. I had my headphones in, closed my eyes, and before I knew it, DONE. It has been about 4 hours since I had my root canal done and my numbing is completely gone. There is mild soreness but I really think it's more from having my mouth open for a long period rather than the actual root canal. Stop searching & just book your appointment here. My root canal came out well & the care team was extremely helpful and informative. The receptionist at the front desk with the vibrant red/ pink dyed hair was both unpleasant and unhelpful. In one instance she provided false information over the phone, and did so with a negative attitude. Each experience I had with her nearly swayed me to get the service done elsewhere. Getting major dental work can be vulnerable, so these experiences certainly were not appreciated. I'm glad I stuck with Root 66 Endodontics despite this. Even my dentist noted what a great job they did! I would recommend this practice to anyone in the area who needs a root canal performed. read more

I had a very pleasant root canal done here (Rancho office) years ago. The root canal was performed on my only tooth with a crown. The crown had always bothered me but I just thought that is how crowns feel. Recently I had the crown replaced and my excellent dentist showed me that when the root canal was done some cotton (gross - she showed me the cotton) was left behind. Sloppy work, right? Went for a root canal. The doctor seemed not to know what he was doing. He gave me some shots to numb the area. He checked after a very short time to see if they'd taken effect, but they had not. He said something about not knowing where the nerve was. He rescheduled the appointment saying he didn't want to give me more shots. About ten minutes later, while on my way home, my entire mouth went numb (of course) & stayed that way for the next three hours. After that wore off I was in pain until the following day from the small amount of preliminary work they'd done. Their conduct was shockingly amateurish and unprofessional. I canceled the rescheduled appointment. The entire experience was bizarre and I would not consider going there again for any reason. read more

I was referred here by my dentist to be evaluated on an infection underneath a tooth that I had a previous route canal. The doctor reviewed my X-ray and said he didn't see any issues but wanted to do a ct scan to make sure. After doing the ct scan he confirmed there was no issue and he would not need to do any treatment. Upon checking out at the front desk, I was told that I had to pay $150 for the ct scan because it's not covered by insurance. I've never experienced going to get dental treatment without being told the cost prior. And this was just the consultation so the fact that they didn't do anything besides take an X-ray, it seems unfathomable that I would be charged $150. Feels like I was scammed. read more

I had been recommended here by my general dentist for a painful root canal that was needed . My tooth had broken and she cleaned out the cavity that caused the filling/tooth to break but then the nerve was very irritated and it got very painful. I am on a time crunch with work and an upcoming trip and they were able to squeeze me in. I went in yesterday afternoon, had a consultation and right away they got to work on it. She broke down what my insurance was covering and what I would pay out of pocket. I was a nervous wreck and the Dr. helped me feel comfortable. When they realized the local anesthesia was not working as quickly as they wanted, they gave me something stronger. They then tested it to make sure I did not feel pain, as that was their primary concern. The dental assistant helping was very insightful, explaining why it may not have worked and why they were placing certain equipment in my mouth. I also loved the goodie bag they provided with water, a fig bar and of course some Tylenol for the after pain and discomfort. Thank you! read more

The girls that do the insurance verification don't know what the hell they are doing and don't believe a word that comes out there mouth even if they reassure you as I'm reassuring you I pay twice for a procedure that was supposedly paid in the premises at the time that was done.I was sent a letter and went asked what happen they told me it was a simple mistake that anyone could've done like wtf the dentist was there when I asked what the cost would be as I would take care of it at the time and they reassured me one amount which was paid there and then and yet I was bill. read more

I was referred to this dentist by a previous office that wanted to give me an appointment that was a month out. A young guy did my X-Rays and he was great. I was introduced to one of the dentist pictured here. Then the receptionist came in to discuss treatment which I was told was already discussed with them (myself and previous dentist office over the phone). She showed me my X-Rays and said I would need the ????? (I'm not sure what she called it) and that I could apply for something to pay for it. She didn't explain why I needed it or its purpose just right to "You can apply for "?????" to help you pay for it" So I asked what it was and she pointed at my X-Rays and said it's this area here this needs to be cleaned out. I told her that's the inside of my tooth what do you mean clean it out. She said "the dr can see it better you can't see it on an X-Ray he has doctors eyes." I asked her "Then how did you see it?" She didn't respond I asked to see the papers and she said I could apply for "??????" to help me pay. It was $480 more. I told her "Why would I pay nearly $500 more when I could wait and let my regular dentist do the work? I signed that I did not receive treatment (I could've sworn I heard her suck her teeth when she saw). I asked for a copy of the paper at which time she stated "No problem and some things are optionals." When I opened the copies that she folded and handed to me she had written "optional" next to the 4 charges that equal $480. For a grand total of $720. My total should have been $240 even, which is what I paid at the dentist my insurance referred me to the following day and had not seen any mystery bacteria on my teeth. My first office visit, I am told I can only be a consulted, as my insurance will only pay for the consult on the first visit a $140.00. Yet, I was referred to them from another dentist. So, I called my insurance company (Guardian) and they told me that there shouldn't have been a secondary consult fee on a referral from another dentist. I really don't mine paying the $140.00 as an office visit, but to tell me that it a consult fee, when we already know that I need a root canal. I was in a great deal of pain and just needed to take care the problem, again if they has told me that it was a office visit fee I wouldn't be writing review in this manner. Dr. Helpern and staff were wonderful and they couldn't have been nicer. The pain is gone for the most part, and I am felling much better. Our Dentist (Bright Now, Upland) had us go to an Endodontist for possible root canal. After a total CF with one who couldn't properly evaluate the tooth, we ended up here with a bad attitude. Well... All for naught! Evan listened to us and then explained EVERYTHING and we decided to get a CAT Scan (?) or MRI, whatever, it came up with a 3D image of what we were dealing with and then Evan said that we should take all this information to our dentist and discuss options. This experience has been wonderful. I've been to the dentist multiple times throughout my life due to hereditary issues with my teeth. I've had several root canals due to these issues and this by far was the best experience I've had. The doctor made the experience comfortable and I experienced no discomfort before or after. My general dentist recommended I have two root canals, but when Dr. Halpern seen my X Ray's he followed up with my general dentist to talk over what my treatment was looking like and to see if one was necessary. Unfortunately my general dentist didn't pick up so I decided since I could only have one root canal done at that time to do the tooth he fully recommended. The doctor told me he would follow up with them with my treatment and to call back to see if an appointment was necessary. It was quick and painless. Ok.... This is embarrassing but I don't care. This is my third root canal.... the first two were done somewhere else. This last one I got done here. I am terrified of the dentist, I don't know why I just am. I think it's the anticipation. Dr. Halperm did my root canal and literally took 15 min. I felt nothing, not even the pinch of the first needle. He talked me through process and frequently asked if I was ok. Not only was he super awesome, his staff was too. The office ladies and the dental assistant were super awesome and friendly, and I am all about customer service. This place excelled my expectations. They are also really affordable. With my insurance my root canal was $45. Other locations charge $200-300 with my insurance. This is a great place,l! hope I don't need anymore root canals but if I do I will be coming here!! read more

Every time my office sends our patients here they have a great experience. Traffic made me completely late to my appointment but I was still taken care of in a timely manner, I know patients running late can disrupt an entire schedule so I felt horrible! Dr was honest with my treatment options and helped me make a conservative decision for one of the two teeth I came in for. I was treated so well here and not to mention my root canal came out perfect and was completely painless. Excellent Staff-Excellent Doctors; I got referred here for my root canal, I was suffering from pressure headaches and hot/cold sensitivity for about two months. When I called, the receptionist was friendly and willing to work with my schedule to get me in ASAP. They took X-rays to be thorough and to double check where I was having pain, and I appreciate that! The assistants here were also very helpful and kind. Once I was numb my pain was gone and has stayed that way!! They also double checked with X-rays at the end. It was fast and painless. So I was terrified to get my first root canal but the team at root 66 made it amazing! Dr. Michael Vongphoe was friendly and straightforward and super gentle on my tooth. It was so painless and fast I couldn't believe it. I would choose him to be my endodontist again any day. The hygienist was so nice, she got me a blanket and a pillow so I'd be comfy!
