This is a super-fresh looking space complete and replete with iconic imagery of the natural world such as large leaves adorning the spacious outdoor and indoor seating areas. The service is consistently superb with a positive attitude held by the staff. Having a little market inside is a very handy feature! I got some great-smelling detergent and tasty, healthy snacks here! The Date Fig Smoothie is absolutely awesome! If you are on the verge, I would urge you to splurge and indulge in this verdant veritable garden of Earthly delights! Very visit-worthy! Highly recommended! Yay! :-D

Shroom Wrap and BBQ Cauliflower Bites

Glad a new healthy spot (besides Sweet Greens and Chop't) opened up in Bethesda! There's a cute marketplace next to the deli with a galore of healthy canned drinks like Olli, Poppi, and other brands (low sugar, probiotic) and healthy snacks. I bought a couple of drinks that I haven't seen at other stores. There's a variety of wraps and salads with protein option on the menu. The Umami Shroom Wrap was a bit bland and dry, but delivered on the Umami Shroom protein fritters and garlic sauce (will ask for more - next time!) The air-fried Cauliflower bites were crispy with a sweet house-made BBQ sauce. Unsurprisingly, they were a bit soggy when I ate them a couple of hours later. While the food and drinks are a bit pricey, I'm excited to come back to try another wrap or bowl to help support the local healthy business.

As a healthy-inspired foodie, this quaint salad bar was truly the best fast-casual meal I had ever had! Unknown to the fact that Rooted3 was completely vegan, they offered amazing, uncommon snacks, bevs, merch, and more! Their options of bases, sides, toppings, and dressings were absolutely delicious! For the first time, I had rainbow carrots, quinoa in a salad, and actual lentils in salad too! The Kale and broccoli were delish as well! Totally check them out! (would drive 30 min for this!)

Found this from the Savor Bethesda Restaurant Week. There was a convenient shop selling souvenirs, food and drinks. The food menu took the wall on the left and the smoothie menu took the right hand side. Each $20 lunch included the Fresh Organic Wrap (original price $12.49) and Air Fried Cauliflower Bites (original price $7.35). So, the restaurant week is actually more expensive than regular price!!! The cauliflower bites were interesting. The in-house sauces were good. The wrap was in multiple smaller wraps, so was difficult to hold if the ingredients had some liquid. The bowl was actually better than the wrap. They also advertised that all non-eatable were compostable.

Great little restaurant, especially if you want to eat healthy. Molly was sweet, and Andre was a star, just as Molly had promised. He walked us through the options with great knowledge and enthusiasm. The lunch bowl he said was very popular had at least ten different plants in it, which is 1/3 of what the "experts" say you should eat in a week. The coffee was good too, which was a bonus. There's a little store there with unique items, including fancy mushroom growing kits, which would make excellent gifts for kids or housewarming. Everything is compostable there, even the plastic bowls, which I find to be very interesting. See the photo I've uploaded. I've also put the menu there, in case you're interested. I don't understand the two-star review from Adam L. in March, 2025. This is a small place that is clean, organized, with excellent services and unique offerings. A two-star rating without any stated complaint is a bit mean, Adam. I wouldn't just say your bow tie looks stupid without saying why I thought it looks stupid. This place is conveniently located, by the way, steps from one of those Bethesda public parking garages. Highly recommended.

I finally made my way to Rooted3 which is an all vegan business in Bethesda. They have some premade bowl options as well as custom bowls available. I was most impressed with their well stocked market of specialty vegan snacks, sauces, and drinks. I got to Rooted3 at 6pm on a weekday. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available for myself and friends to enjoy dinner together. I was surprised at this hour they were almost out of all the protein options for the bowls. I was able to assemble a bowl still, but maybe I need to visit next time at a different hour to ensure they are ready for the dinner rush. I made a custom bowl with red lentil pasta, pretty much every veggie topping available that was not at a premium price, massaged kale, and I tried a cauliflower samosa fritter, mushroom fritter, Buffalo fritter, and cowboy fritter. These fritters look similar to falafel and are the protein for the bowls. You get to pick 4 of those protein options and they do let you mix and match so you can try multiple flavors in one bowl. For dressing I picked the spicy cilantro. I thought the bowl was a pretty generous size and I loved that there was no limit on veggies to add. I do think that the protein balls/fritters could use some improvement. They look so pitifully small in the bowl. I honestly would have preferred to just add some baked tofu as my protein over these fritters. I think tofu would stand out more and this bowl has so much flavor already that adding these fritters is kind of a waste as their individual flavor gets lost among all the other ingredients. I love how many sauces are available to finish off the bowl. I definitely want to come back to try more custom bowl options. If you visit Rooted3 I highly recommend bringing some shopping bags to snag up the goodies in their market. They have so many vegan snack options and hard to find specialty sauces. It was so much fun browsing their selection. Overall I had a good experience at Rooted3 but they also have room for improvement. I think they need to improve having ingredients well stocked during normal busy hours. 6pm is a pretty standard dinner time and they were almost completely out of fritters and had some other ingredients like the red lentil pasta that was almost completely out. Also, I think that the fritters could be improved. They really got lost in the bowl and that isn't what you want as the main protein source for the meal. I do thank this business for opening as I love supporting vegan businesses. I think they have a lot of potential and just need some fine tuning so more nonvegans give them a try.

I have been here at least 5 times now and have tried multiple things and love it all. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The owners are lovely. The selection is great. The place is quiet and clean. I love coming here! Highly recommend.

My dad and I were looking for somewhere to eat dinner when we saw this cute modern vegan restaurant. I was skeptical at first about the vegan aspect but once I tried their food I was won over. I had one of their "make your own" bowls. It was so good the server was so nice and recommended certain ingredients that would go well together. My favorite were the harissa fritters, crunchy onions and pickled onions, would definitely come here again with my whole family, so we could all experience the tasty cuisine!!

You know what you're getting with this store! Fresh, healthy, vegan, fast casual. The menu has a good variety of options from bowls to smoothies to coffee. We enjoyed our cowboy bowl and cornbread jalapeno bowl. The blueberry lemon spritzer left something to be desired, like agave or honey - something to lift the bitterness. The ladies serving the bowls were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The market is a cute touch. Both indoor and outdoor seating available at lunchtime on a friday, although it certainly wasn't empty either. I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this restaurant, but would come back again if I were in the neighborhood.

I was really excited to check out Rooted3! It's rare to find a place that is so allergen friendly. Unfortunately I left pretty disappointed. I arrived around 6pm on a week night and the food was pretty dried out, especially the fritters and roasted broccoli. It was difficult to chew and tasted almost stale, not fresh. There was only one other customer in the cafe the whole time I was there so I get the sense that business was slow, therefore not much turn over of the food. I ordered a bowl and fries and I didn't mind having to wait 10-15 minutes for the fries because they were going to be fresh. However when they arrived they were cooked to a crisp and so difficult to chew. The staff were so kind and I loved the market which was a redeeming factor. The inside is so cute and airy, super clean. But given the lack of freshness of the food, I'm a bit disappointed.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Everything was fresh and delicious, the portions were big, the staff was friendly, and there were so many interesting and unique vegan proteins and sauces to try. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu and pick up some of the market items.

It's under an apartment building, which makes it feel less like parking and more like playing a live-action game of Tetris with SUVs. Honestly, it's a little bananas (pun absolutely intended). But hey, what can you do? You survive the parking, and then you get rewarded with the magical land of Trader Joe's. Once you step inside, it's a completely different story. The store is bright, fresh, and easy to navigate. No wandering around like you're trapped in a corn maze--everything is right where you expect it. Within minutes, my cart went from "just eggs and milk" to "how did I end up with three bags of frozen dumplings, Cookie Butter, and enough snacks to survive the apocalypse?" The food? Always fresh. The produce section is unbeetable (sorry, couldn't resist). The frozen aisle? A greatest hits collection of comfort food. And the snacks? Dangerous. You don't go to Trader Joe's to stick to a list--you go to "accidentally" find new obsessions. And don't even get me started on the seasonal items. I fall in love, get attached, and then they disappear faster than free samples. (RIP pumpkin kringle, gone too soon.) The staff here are the real MVPs. Everyone is friendly, cheerful, and ready to help. Need to find something? They'll walk you to it. Buy a new snack? They'll tell you the best way to enjoy it. The cashiers are basically snack therapists--nodding along, validating my frozen orange chicken addiction like it's a completely normal life choice. And of course, the flowers. Somehow Trader Joe's has the power to convince me I'm the kind of person who always has fresh flowers at home. For $5, my kitchen suddenly looks Pinterest-worthy, and my groceries feel fancier than they actually are. So yes--the parking is tight, but the payoff is worth it. Trader Joe's is the breadwinner of grocery stores (get it?). It's the place where you come for groceries but leave with joy, snacks, and probably a bag of peanut butter pretzels you never knew you kneaded.

It was a combination of plusses and minuses. First, I thought the store was quite clean and well stocked, always a good thing. I would have expected the produce area to be larger though. The meat department was again well stocked and clean, though some of the seafood, particularly the salmon, did not look fresh. They carry their Care One line of personal care items that I buy in my local stores. Prices seem a bit steeper down here, probably a result of the location. But in fairness, not having visited a lot of other grocery stores in the area, I can't say whether these prices are competitive or not. But most items not on sale were typically 10% more expensive than where I shop at home. The parking lot is inadequate for the amount of business they do, and I think they would have benefited from some additional entrances and exits. You do need to proceed with caution and keep a watchful eye when driving through it.
