This company is a total scam. On Oct. 2, 2017 they came to my 95 year old mothers house in Claremont and did a jet hydro clean with root clog. $1450 and no warranty because saying there are 2 broken pipes. But they can fix it for 12K. Today, Dec. 4, clogs again and caregiver calls, they come back out saying the same thing 1450 and no other way to fix this and to call me right away, I live in NorCal, to start this big job away. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and we called another company and it was fixed for $130 with warranty. I would never recommend this company to anyone...I have to put 1 star but they are not even at that. Shame on you for taking advantage of elderly people... They ignored my three phone calls and even the fourth, on which I actually spoke to someone. But Rooter Hero answered my call, and on a Sunday. My 53 year old home needed some major plumbing--all the pipes replaced under my house and hydrojetting. Rooter Hero was here every day, working hard. They even worked through the weekend and then at night so I wouldn't have to take more time off work. Greg, Jeremy and Ernie were wonderful! We had a problem with our main drain outside in the front yard backing up. I called around 10:00 a.m. and less than an hour later technician Anthony Salas was at the door to take care of the problem. Anthony had to call in another tech, Steve, with a drain camera. That was at no extra cost. They showed me the drain through the camera and explained in terms I could understand, what causes the backup. They were both very professional and the fee was so reasonable. Total switch and bait company. The clean-out man, scam artist, and wannabe plumber came and spent a total of 20 minutes on my drain. He ran the snake without a head. Then he suggested that I replace my sewer line for $4,000 price tag. Their price of $69.00 is awesome, but it was a total waste of my time because he couldn't clean it out anyway. DON'T CALL THESE CLOWNS! Very unprofessional. Absolutely cannot be counted on! Called at 8:00PM (already dark outside) on Friday night. Told dispatcher that access to main line was through roof vent on 1 story home. Was told he would be there between 9:30 and 11:30PM. Perfect. I was happy. At 10:30PM the technician called to say he was finishing up a job and would be right over. Great! At 11:00PM the technician called and said he wasn't coming tonight because he had to go up on the roof at night, but he could get there tomorrow. So when I called at 8:30PM it wasn't nighttime? When he called at 10:30PM it wasn't nighttime? I called the dispatcher for confirmation that we in fact told them access was through the roof vent. She confirmed that was correct. Nice job guys. Way to leave people hanging. The dispatcher did offer me the opportunity to lodge a complaint. Called this company at 8pm one night because all of the toilets in the house overflowed at the same time. They came out about an hour later and told me they needed to get on the roof, so they had to come back the next day. I was thrilled that they were willing to do the work while I was at work the following day, and I wouldn't have to spend the day "waiting for the plumber". They were 3 hours later than they'd promised, but they finally called to say that they had drained the pipes but that I needed a $1400 main clean out installed. That was significantly higher than the $169 price they'd quoted for clearing the drain. I became even more suspicious when they told me that they'd used a camera to determine that there are lots of tree roots clogging the pipes, since there isn't a single tree on my property, or even near the area where they said the roots were. But, I hoped for the best. When I got home that day, there was absolutely no evidence that they'd even been there, much less done anything. Still had the same problem. I gave them one star because (a) Yelp doesn't allow 1/2 a star or 0 stars and (b) when I called the company and explained to them that I thought they were trying to BS me, they backed off and said they wouldn't charge me. Now, I'm checking Yelp reviews before I contact a plumber. Shoulda' done that to begin with, right? read more

Replaced the main sewer line using combination of pipe bursting and perma liner procedures. Cost was comparable with other quotes but I decided to go with Rooter Hero because of the great customer service I received from Byron and Marvin. Byron throughly explained my options and worked with me on all of my concerns. I have used Marvin before on a previous project and felt very comfortable with his quality of work. Both of them have more than exceeded my expectations by making sure the process was completed smoothly and on time. Great company and great guys to work with. read more

Our waste line had backed up in our 1923 Craftsman Cottage on the Saturday Afternoon before Easter. The line is the original 2' clay section pipe that we have rooted once a year in Spring and was due for it's yearly clean out. Being a holiday weekend we decided to use Rooter Hero who was running a $79.00 cabling special. The technician arrived and began to cable the drain. I noticed the blade he was using was very small and he was having trouble. He told me he was unable to clear the stoppage and recommended that we Hydro-Jet the line for $1300.00 for the single line or $3200.00 for the entire house, which would include a free video inspection. I related that that I work in the construction industry and would want to check with one of our contractors. He called his supervisor who told him that we qualify for a "professional rate" of $495.00 for the line, which made me extremely wary, and I declined. He attempted again to clear the line again, but couldn't and removed the cable only to find the blade was missing. He told us that it must have broken off in the line, for us to limit our waste water use and his supervisor would call us that following Monday to discuss our options. We never heard from them. On Monday I got our regular plumbing contractor to come out and they successfully rooted the line (using a much larger blade) in under 15 minutes. They also performed a video inspection to ensure Rooter Hero didn't damage the line and everything looked fine. They also found the "broken" blade which appeared to have come off because it was not tightened correctly to the cable. They charged us $150.00 for the call. A word of warning: Rooter Hero does not use hard copy for it's estimates or work orders, but an iPad for all of their paperwork and emails you the documents. I was unaware that the single document screen I signed contained several additional pages that pertained to warranty and limitations. read more

Believe the reviews about this company, they are all true in varying degrees. the basic con game works this way - you call them for a drainage problem, they come run a snake and tell you something is blocking and the snake can't go further. they call the supervisor who runs a camera thru you sewer line and scares and tells you all the bad news - roots, collapsed pipe, you name it. then they tell you the whole sewer line needs to be replaced for 5k (actually 1st bid was 6k, then they make you feel good with discounts, etc., and bring it down to 5k).. These guys are the car dealers of the plumbing world, probably worse. analogy would be you come in to have your spark plugs replaced, and they end up selling you a new engine. these guys shouldn't be in business. i don't know how they got a good rating with the BBB. read more

This company absolutely ripped my grandma off!! Her house is old (built in the 1960's) with original plumbing. She has a water softener (bad news for cast iron pipes) and it corroded much of her plumbing. She paid $55,000 to have her pipes lined with some polyurethane plastic of some sort. Installed a new section of the main line and dug a huge hole in her front yard. They came down $10k in price from the original $65k after some serious negotiations and my plumber buddy there to help. The work took over one month to complete. Then they left an absolute mess. It took 2-3 weeks for someone to "clean up". The are still concrete drippings in her garage. To make matters worse, the 20 feet of pipe they didn't replace is corroded and broken. They didn't do the job right the first time! They now want $35k to rip up the driveway and replace the last section to the street. Would have been nice to do it right the first time! Supposedly all the workers that were on my grandmas job were fired but this still feels wrong. I wouldn't suggest using this company! read more

This has to be the worst plumbing company I've ever used. We've paid over $55,000 for re-drain, repipe and a tankless water heater. They did not do all the work as promised. After grossly overcharging us over $30,000. We called about our tankless water heater which is under warranty & is currently pouring water out of the condensation line. They sent & inexperienced plumber who spent the majority of his time on YouTube. He couldn't figure out the problem and told us it's the pressure regulator. Which was wrong. My husband called Navien (Mfgt of tankless). He explained the problem & sent them the pics they requested & they sent out the replacement part. However they sent it to Rooter Hero. Instead of my home. My husband was going to change the part himself, to avoid any more charges from them. Now Lou from Rooter hero has been holding our part for almost 2 weeks now and will not send it to us. Lou and Rooter Hero are the worst Plumbers ever. As of today we still are without are part because of Lou. When we get our water bill we are sending it straight to your office. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE! We have been struggling for several weeks to find a good quality plumbing service to meet our needs. We recently moved into an older house and we have had many plumbing issues. It is a daunting task to find a good quality plumbing service, but we have surely found it with this company. Our shower was stopped up. We tried many methods to unclog it ourselves, but nothing worked. We then called a different plumbing service. He snaked it for at least an hour, but could not unclog our shower. He told us that he believed the pipe was broken. He looked under the house and he thought he saw something wrong with our pipes. We thought he was going to go under the house to check out the problem, but he was cleaning up to go. He left us with a dirty and grimy shower, our shower STILL clogged and without going under the house because "He didn't have his crawl suit". What kind of plumber doesn't have a crawl suit with him on hand? It was a Friday night so he probably didn't want to work! But ROOTER HERO PLUMBING truly saved the day! Our plumber Marvin, arrived early and ready to work. He assessed the situation and immediately went under the house to asses the problem further. He was nice, professional, knowledgable. He then called his supervisor, Byron (who was amazing! btw), to come help with our situation. Both of them were able to unclog our shower in no time and informed us that there was NOT a broken pipe, and that it was just a build up. They unclogged it so quickly, we couldn't even believe it! They also took the time to give us estimates on other jobs that need to be done in our house. Pricing was fair and they are truly not trying to take advantage of their customers. They are very trustworthy. We will be calling them for future jobs and it is comforting to have a plumbing service that we can depend on. Highly recommend them! read more
