For that, I genuinely appreciate and am very grateful for the advice and directions they gave us on our drainage issues in the backyard. So, we moved into this house a few months ago, and with the recent rains, we realized that the house has drainage issues. We need to put more gutters, and that is obviously $$$. Instead of selling his service, he recommended that we first consult a landscaper, and they will be happy to work with a landscaper to map out the location of new drainage lines. We had a strange whooshing sound coming up from our sink, tub, and shower drains in one of our bathrooms when someone flushed the hall toilet. Thought it might be a partial blockage, even though we didn't have any backup issues. When the Scott McLeod plumber came out, he listened to the noise. He shrugged, said it might be a soft blockage, and said they could do a snake for $495 (no warranty), or hydrojet with camera for $795 and 90 day warranty. I decided to pass and check around a bit. I'm glad I did. I asked for quotes through Yelp, and found SoCal Rooter & Hydrojet. The owner, Andy, said he would do the same service for $300. When he showed up, he listened to it, asked me about backups, and then if we used the garden tub recently. After I told him no to both questions, he quickly concluded it could be the drain trap on the tub, that it dried out, making the sewer noise come up the drain. We ran a bit of water down the tub drain, and the sound was gone. Even more impressive, he refused to take any money for the visit. Had a broken sewer pipe that just kept getting clogged with roots. Andy ran a camera and determined the pipe to be in really bad shape (old orangeburg). So he dug down and installed a clean-out and a new abs section to mend the problem. I tried to get away with doing just half the Job, as to do it right he would have needed to cut the walkway and install a second section of pipe. I was cheap and told him no. So he happily complied and did what I asked. Unfortunately a couple days later we had the same issue further up stream (just like Andy said we might). So I called him back and admitted I messed up and that I should have just had him do what he knew was right. Andy graciously came out and did the second part right away and never once said "i told you so". Very professional and easy to get along with. Reasonably priced and did clean fast work. It was great working with Andy and Richard on a Saturday. I had my sink drain unclogged by drain snake at first and had to make consultation with other plumbing issues that needs attention. I ended up having to replaced the water pressure regulator which is showing signs of wear and do the hydrojet they recommended to clear the pipe of debris effectively and prevent clogging occurrence. Anibal and his crew were amazing! Since we're first time home owners, we were having a tough time finding good people to work with. After looking around for quotes, Anibal came out of nowhere and was extremely helpful. In fact, he noticed a problem with our pipes connecting to the city sewage lines -on his own accord, he reached out to the city sewage office and had them in front of our house to inspect. I would rate SoCal Rooter & Hydrojet above 5 stars, if possible. Our sewer backed up on a Saturday. I searched Yelp for plumbers that could come out on a weekend. I found one and explained our issue, which had happened before. I believed we would need a hydrojet that could cut through tree roots to resolve this issue. A roto-rooter would not cut it. Two plumbers showed up without a hydrojet. They wanted over $1000 to try to clear it out. I asked how long it would take and they said under 30 minutes. That was insane. I contacted SoCal Rooter & Hydrojet and Andy got back to me right away. He was booked for Saturday, but said he could come by at 8AM Sunday morning. He showed up with the right equipment and worked for 1.5 hours. He explained to me where the issues were, which is the same areas we've had trouble in the past with tree roots. We have had several other plumbers tell us we should line our main line to fix this issue. Andy explained that most of our main line was already lined. The issue was actually where our cleanout attaches to the main line. It's become detached, so we just need to replace that small section. This will be thousands of dollars less than any other estimate we've ever gotten. To sum everything up.
