I as always went through the reviews on this company, I always do that first, but I did it after the job was completed this time and to be honest was shocked at some of the low star ratings, I say this because had I read the reviews first I would not have called them and looked elsewhere, I am so glad I called them and sorry for those who had bad experiences, but my experience was awesome and I say this hating professional plumbers lol, I had a kitchen sink back up, I am no plumber but I know some things, I snaked the trap from the spot of origin and from the sewer side, I climbed up on my roof and snaked the vent to the sink, I climbed under the house and tapped the line from one end to the other, 8 hrs total of saying things that would make a sailor blush and I was one lol, in the end I called Hero, They responded quickly, sent a tech ( Darren) out at the time they said he would arrive, I explained all that I had tried he came up with a great game plan, executed it with my blessing and knocked out the blockage in no time, Darren was a complete professional, you could tell he had respect for the customers home and sanity and he was just an all around great guy!!!! My experience with them was excellent. They arrived on time and were very down to earth and friendly. the price was truly very low for the job of removing a main pipe clog with a snake. I got quoted for hydrojetting and complete pipe replacement. The pricing and financing choices were also excellent and presented honestly without pressure. There was a small misunderstanding on the phone about updating me on when they would come via my cell but it just resulted in their being early so it didnt affect me. Josh was professional, knowledgeable, and personable making a stressful time tolerable because I didn't get the sense that he would trick me. He immediately knew what was going on with our plumbing just from explaining the problem to him over the phone when he called to give me an ETA, which I appreciated. Rooter Hero was my second call for leaking toilets in my home, but the best call I could make. From the moment I made the first call until this morning when Jeremy M. finished up, I have been impressed with their professionalism. Not to mention Jeremy was great at answering questions and showed a great deal of patience when I didn't catch on to what he was saying right away. I have never worked with a company where the price actually goes down until now. Jeremy mentioned that he hopes he doesn't have to see me again (will do the work right the first time), but he will. I am starting a project to fix up the shower in the master bathroom soon, Jeremy and Kevin O. will be my first call. Thank you all for a job well done from start to finish! FYI, when I called Rooter Hero, my thought was second opinion the whole time but check this out. Placed call for service - Intake was polite and efficient. Received call back in minutes saying tech was in route. Tech arrived well within timeline provided, listened to the problem and actually started poking around to see how extensive. So we've used this company before and always had a good experience, which is why I called them at 8am when my washer and dishwasher were backing up into my shower. Long story short: the guy who showed up was a scam artist and wholly incompetent. Longer story follows: A guy - looks pretty young and inexperienced - shows up, and immediately seems totally out of his depth. He tells me he needs to crawl under the house to inspect the condition of the pipes, ok. Then he comes out (looking suspiciously clean), and tells me that the pipes are all old. Ok, not a surprise. Then he tells me there's no access point outside to the line, so it's really difficult and will cost $375 to run a snake down because he will have to pull out the washer. I tell him that actually, the company has been out before and there is definitely an access point but I can't remember where. He insists there isn't so I tell him I'll call someone else. Immediately his quote changes to $125 and if the job is not successful, no charge - he can now access the pipe through the shower apparently. I question why he couldn't have just done this beforehand, and he doesn't really have an answer. At this point I know he is incompetent and seems to be scamming me (or trying to). But I agree because whatever - if it doesn't succeed I'm not out anything. Turns out that he couldn't do it with the snake and told me we needed it to be hydrojetted at $675. I declined. He left a ton of black water in the shower and my kitchen sink was backed up when he left, though it hadn't been before. He also left without saying goodbye, leaving a business card or anything. One minute he is wrapping his snake back up - the next I see his van driving away. I called another company (High Speed Plumbing). They sent someone else who didn't keep changing the price, charged me $125, and unplugged it with a snake in about 15 minutes. The plumber also found the super elusive line access point, which was on the other side of the kitchen sink in plain sight. I dont know what happened with this company, but I'm no longer their customer after today. I get that plumbing is expensive, but don't try to scam me. read more

Gio and Byron have been super helpful beyond belief! We had sewage backing up in our bathrooms, and Rooter Hero showed up super fast to investigate the situation. Turns out a cable company busted our lateral sewer. It was right before the holidays and with things already being stressful, the one constant we had was the professionalism, reliability, and full competency of Rooter Hero. It was a month-long saga due to the involvement of other parties, but Gio always showed up on time when he said he would and was a real pleasure to work with. In fact, he was the ONLY one who always showed up on time when we were also dealing with the city and the utility company that caused the damage. Byron also checked in on us, and that made us feel we were well-cared for. They both gave us their cell numbers, kept us in the loop, and were so responsive in their communication. I recently had a Moen Posi-Temp cartridge in my shower go bad, and was totally stuck on full flow. I called Rooter Hero late on Monday night and spoke to a real person (!). She took down my information and said a dispatcher would be calling shortly. Within 30 minutes I did receive a call to schedule the repair. Due to the lateness of the hour, and no pressing need to use the water over night, I turned off the water at the main valve, and we scheduled the visit for the next morning. Rosendo arrived promptly, extracted the cartridge (literally bit by bit) and replaced it with a genuine Moen cartridge. Total time less than an hour. The only reason this review is not 5 stars is that two other people from the company showed up and tried to sell me a very expensive water conditioning system. Rosendo gets 5 stars. read more

Had a stopped up sewer pipe in an apartment in Upland, CA. They took off a toilet in the apartment and snaked the drain. About 50 feet out they stopped and said the rooter was blocked by a large root and couldn't continue. Then he went in with a camera. Said it would cost about $2,000 to dig down to the pipe and replace the portion clogged by the root. We decided to pay them the $150 for work done so far and get a second opinion. Another rooter we had used before came and cleared the blockage in about 10 minutes! We explained what happened before and he said that this is a common practice to milk the client for more money. He charged $100! The next day the apartment tenant called and said the toilet that Rooter Hero had removed was leaking. We called Rooter Hero back and the technician told us that that's not what he does and if we want the toilet back on correctly we would have to call the company again. . .it would be about $60 more. This to correct a problem THEY CAUSED! We have maintained these apartments for over 30 years and this is the ABSOLUTE WORST rooter service we have ever had! read more

I called Rooter Hero to fix a clogged stand up shower. Initially, I got their $77 special rate for cabling drains. They told me after service, it was $125 because stand up showers cost more. Their promo said any drain, anytime $77. We negotiated and brought it back to $77 with no warranty. After turning the shower on, the water collected at the floor again. I called them back to our house to cable it. Initially, they were reluctant to come out, because we were not under warranty. I explained that we paid for a service that wasn't even fixed the first time they came to service it. Another technician came out to cable it. After turning on the shower, the water was still backing up on the floor. I called them again and they said the only way they could fix it was by getting a camera to take a look inside the pipe, consider their drain cleaner solution or hydro jetting the clog. Rooter Hero wanted me to pay more $$ for a problem they didn't fix with the $$ we already paid them. We ended up fixing our own clog ourselves and we lost $77. We found out they were trying to unclog our stand up shower by going through the bathtub. Please make sure to always ask for a second or even a third company before you decide to allow major work done on your pipes. They didnt even email me my invoice which they said they did. I will not be using their services in the future. read more

George's demeanor helped put my at ease. He explained everything thoroughly before and after. What every part replaced was and the functions. He was professional. Great yes ma'am no ma'am manners. Although I stopped him after a few and said pls just call me by my nick name. :) He was courteous enough to offer to wait outside while I picked up my daughter from school. They were prompt (Nick and a trainee), courteous, professional and articulate. They assessed the problem, fixed it and charged a fair minimum amount. SCAMMERS. We had an old toilet that required two or three flushes to empty the bowl. We called Rooter Hero because they had successfully unclogged a bathtub drain for us in 2015. After inspecting our sewer line with a camera they told us our pipes were corroded and they could fix the problem for about $3700. We got a second opinion from Plumbers Connection. They said a new toilet would probably solve our problem. They were right. It has been several months since Plumbers Connection installed the new toilet and it has worked perfectly every time with just a single flush, and we saved $3400. I do not believe the Rooter Hero guys were too incompetent to diagnose our problem. I think they were simply too greedy and dishonest. Shop around. read more
