We had a serious backup in our bathroom when a sitter had flushed down some baby wipes. Rooter Hero came out to take a look at the issue. Their plumbers, EDDIE, and HENRY were very courteous when they showed up and clearly described their process for getting to the issue. They very quickly and carefully brought in their equipment and proceeded to repair the problem. In very little time, the issue was cleared. They checked their work by running water from everything upstream of the problem. COMPLETED and expertly done! The only good thing I can say is that they are quick and that the person they sent was friendly. But that is all! Our water heater stopped working because the pilot stopped working. The "Hero" they sent attempted to light the pilot 2 times, and when he couldn't make it, work insisted that the gas had been shut off, and that's why it didn't work. When I told him the gas had not been turned off at any time, he kept insisting it had, basically saying I'm lying. Then the Hero went straight into the whole thing needs replaced. But not only did they want to replace the water heater, he insisted on the most expensive one they carried, and would not even talk about other options. never use these guys. they are fake and literally said I had roots in my pipe I said that was not possible. jesus called him "manager" and his manger said yup roots. got on his phone played with his calculator said they can fix it for 6300, 00 bucks. The only good thing I can say about this company is that they showed up. On a Saturday I had my water heater leak. I called four plumbers and they showed up. He did a temporary repair, but he said I would need a new one soon. I figured that because the water heater was 10 years old. So, we got to talking because I was interested in getting a tankless water heater. He gave me a quote of 7k. Most quotes I got were from 5 to 7k. I figured since they were the only ones that showed up. So the technician shows up and puts in the water heater with no power source. We had to connect it to an outlet outside the utility closet. I asked the technician three times if the power source would be an issue and he said no all three times. He then caused a gas leak because he did not shut off the gas correctly. The Gas Company had to come out and repair his mistake. So, he finished the tankless water heater and connected it to the outlet in my hallway. It looks bad. Then Rooter Hero calls the city of Pomona permit office for an inspection and they do not warn me. The building inspector comes and asks for the contactor. I had no idea why he was there. So he said that someone called them for the inspection. So he sees the work and the first thing he said was that everything looks "AMATUERISH" . He thought that I did the work myself. I told the inspector that I paid 7k for this, and he just shook his head. He told me to never hire the contractor again. He asked me who it was so that he won't use them. Of course he did not pass it, but he did tell me how to correct the issue. I still have the correction notice from the city as well to prove it did not pass. I had to get someone else to correct the issues. I never got receipts for the work and the tankless water heater so I don't know if I have a warranty for the work and equipment. All I have is the invoice. I did lodge a complaint with the company but nothing was resolved. But I don't care. I wouldn't trust them for anything, or to come and repair the issues. I just can't believe how unprofessional the company is. Like I said the only good thing is that they showed up when no one else did. I would ask that anyone reading this please use patience and get a second opinion before doing business with Rooter Hero. You will probably regret it like I did. read more

After an associate of mine had their mainline unclogged by Rooter Hero, he sent them my way since I was having the same issue and they had a $77 coupon. The plumber came, (who was very professional) and said he couldn't unclog it with his snake/cable, but mentioned their camera was with someone else who could come the following day for a deeper look. The guy with the camera came the following day which has great. He said our main line had a lot of roots. (But we were aware of this since this is fairly common in our area.) He described it as a "root ball" stuck in our pipe. He said the ONLY way to unclog it was to replace a section of the pipe - for $1800. I asked a second time if this was the ONLY way to unclog it to make sure I was clear, and he said yes. I asked for a written quote. And he wanted to know who I needed to talk it over with. (Awkward question) When I inquired again about a written quote, he said they only provide them by email. RED FLAG for me. After I gained clarity that replacing our pipes was the ONLY alternative, I asked him why couldn't a hydrojet be used. After he took a long pause, he stuttered with the explanation of, "because it will damage your pipes." ANOTHER RED FLAG FOR ME. Well, I told him he gave us a lot to think about, and thanked him for coming out. Later that day, a separate plumbing company unclogged the pipe for less than $100 with a snake! Oh, and by the way, we never received that written quote by email. I'm not surprised =) So unfortunately for me, Rooter Hero turned out to be a Rooter Villian. read more

Yesterday I had a party and grease was accidentally put in the kitchen sink. Kaileb from Rooter Hero Plumbing came within 2 hours of my calling them and was able to clean it out and get rid of the clog immediately. Because my house was made in 1959 he did give me options on what needs to be done eventually but didn't manipulate or force me to do anything I didn't want to do. If you could rate the company in the negative I would. Called them on Friday night as our bath tub wouldn't drain. They said they would have someone out the next morning. The guy showed up and told us what needed to be done. We agreed to have the service. He then told us he had another job and they would send out another tech to do the job. Said he would be out no later than 6pm. Never heard another thing. Called multiple times asking if someone was coming and they kept telling us yes they would be here. Finally at 8:30 Sat night a guy named Brandon called and said he would be out Sunday morning. No show. I called them again and spoke to someone named Lou. I asked him what was going on, he said Brandon was on another job and was held up. I asked why he didn't call us to let us know and he got very smart mouthed and unprofessional. I cancelled the service as at that point wouldn't deal with a company that was u professional. Wouldn't trust their work. They strung us along for over a day lying to us. Although a few months late in my review, it goes say that Zach Blanco definitely made his impression and if you get him, I would definitely trust his recommendations. While they may not be the cheapest, I can definitely say they do quality work and you get what you pay for. They know what they're doing and choosing the wrong plumber can cause even more issues later down the road... tldr; - Had roots issue throughout inside/outside drain system, new issues discovered, Zach went above and beyond to make sure all my plumbing issues were repaired including some brickwork damage during cleanup. He also fixed my sprinklers, faucet, and toilet! Long Version: Had roots issue bathroom sewer drain causing problems for over a year. Paid $500 to hydrojet my old lines 1.3 years prior. Previous plumber did not check sewer drain material and hydrojetted my old cast iron lines at 3000 PSI, causing multiple new cracks throughout the entire house sewer system. Before mentioning this to Rooter Hero who saw the extensive new root growth in previously root free areas, I asked them what pressure they'd used to clear my lines and based on their camera inspection they said they would not have used more than 1200-1500 PSI. It was likely that the previous plumbing company caused more damage to my old iron pipes. As a result, I had to to replace nearly my entire 1st floor drain system which the complete project lasted 3 weeks, but everyday they made sure I had a functional plumbing system. They must have had at least a dozen different issues as my house was far from straight forward. If I had gone with a cheaper contractor, I'm sure I would've been far less happy with the results. The whole repair was a combination of trenched pipe replacement, trenchless CIPP to inaccessible regions, and trenchless pipe-burst for the outdoor main line replacement. Zach was calm throughout all my upset periods during the 3 week long project but he was extremely helpful in finding a resolution throughout the entire ordeal. It has been 5 months since the project and there has not been buyers remorse. I think that's best recommendation I can give. read more

Selected Rooter Hero for my usual yearly snake service to remove roots on mainline (my regular plumber was unavailable). Techs claimed that they were unable to clear mainline. Without consulting me, brought in additional personnel, including a hydroblast service, to perform a simple root intrusion removal. Camera scoped the mainline but did not listen to my directions concerning tank and line locations. Pressured me to agree to $12K-$15K treatment. When I declined, Rooter Hero (oxymoron-they are predators not heroes) charged an unconscionable $1400 to clear a simple root blockage that my regular plumber performs for $200. Even at that extraordinary cost, they failed to perform a post-clearing camera scope of mainline to ensure that blockage had been removed. They run an unethical, bait and switch service worthy of criminal prosecution. Avoid them like Covid. read more

My tech Jeremy from the Montclair office arrived within an hour of my initial phone call to the office. His partner & himself were very polite, professional and great listeners. My father usually does the plumbing here but he no longer can. With the plumbing problem I had I was sure they were going to have to go from the main line on top of my roof. They politely gave it a try but quickly determined that was not the problem. They assessed the area further and noticed an issue with the cleanout & fixed the problem immediately. They were so honest & fair and gave me a really great deal. I received quotes from other companies earlier in the morning at about $375. While the staff was friendly, responsive, and timely the good ends there. The plumber immediately began upselling services despite being told exactly what was needed. He promptly retrieved his power snake to clean the main drain as requested however never attached the head on the snake making it an exercise guaranteed to fail. I allowed him to continue his intentionally futile effort while attempting to sell me on root removal, camera scopes, major overhauls etc etc etc. After an hour he was convinced the minor clog could only be resolved with serious work, I sent him on his way and went to the store for a bottle of drain cleaner. THIEFS and FRAUDS! Rooter Hero had two technicians visit my home for a slow shower drain. When they inspected the pipes with a camera they said my pipe was broken and it would be $14,000 to fix the broken pipe. This also meant they would need to demo my entire newly remodeled bathroom to reach the broken pipe. After them pressuring us to get the repair done asap or we would lose our quoted price, I sent them home and only paid for the camera inspection. I asked for a photo of the broken pipe and they sent me a photo dated back to 2011. After questioning them they reassured me this was my home and not another person's home. A few days later I had another company come out to give me a second opinion and there is no broken pipe! This time we watched the camera inspection live and saw nothing was broken. BEWARE OF THESE CROOKS! The complaints team has refunded my money but I am sharing so someone else doesn't endure this potential nightmare! read more
