When I saw my kitchen sink backfill with sewage water, I began urgently looking for a plumber to come at 6 PM on a Saturday evening. Roofer man plumbing responded to my phone called and scheduled a time of arrival within 45 minutes. With Covid distancing measures, they came with gloves and masks and stayed at the requisite distance as I explained the issue. They hydrojetted our pipes and showed us a larger tree root that had broken a large section of the pipe and would need to be repaired. We got a few other quotes, but theirs was by far the most competitive. They arrived the following Monday and were done with the project and cleaned up by end of day. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant experience and we have moved them to the top of our list for our plumbing needs. read more

I really do not understand why people are writing all of these negative reviews because the guys over at Rooter Man Plumbing were honestly really easy to work with. We gave them a call after a few of our friends provided feedback about them and said they were honestly really good at what they do. We had a clogged toilet that would break every few weeks, I thought I had solved the problem last month but it keeps clogging and each time getting worse. RUN AWAY. These dudes are crooks. Called them out on Sunday evening to have our sewer line snaked after it started to backup. They were the first company to pickup. They sent out Alejandro who produced a TINY rooter blade, maybe for snaking something indoors. After about less than a minute of snaking, he pulled a few little weeds out of the cleanout. He told me the roots were so bad he needed to call his supervisor who was in the neighborhood just ten minutes away which seemed odd since it was a sunday evening. He had the camera and they'd scope the line free of charge. His buddy Johnny arrived. I'm pretty sure he was just waiting in the same truck Alejandro came in. They parked half way down the block and walked up to begin with and I never saw another Rooter Man vehicle. Johnny put the camera in the cleanout. I stood over his shoulder watching. I was feeling odd about these guys. He asked me to go in and flush the toilet once. I did. When I returned the camera was tangled in roots. He told me that the top of my sewer line was gone because of roots and I needed to have that section of pipe replaced, a 1475 job. We'd just had our line inspected five months ago when we purchased our home. How could it have gotten so bad. "They must have missed it... Wow!" he told me. I said I'd have to discuss with my wife and call the office to set up an appointment to do the work. He said ask her now so we can get the paperwork going now and start work in the morning. At this point, Alejandro got somber, like he felt bad for conning me. We'd spoken about our families while we waited for Johnny to "arrive." My wife and I decided we needed to repair the collapsed pipe so we agreed to have the work done. As soon as they left, I jumped on yelp and started looking at their reviews. So many 1 star reviewers told the same story. 49$ turned into anywhere from 600-4000 dollars. And it seemed that once the work started the costs ballooned from there so if they replaced that section of pipe,I'm sure the next one would have been bad too since they couldn't even see that section in the scoping. I cancelled the work immediately and called the company that had done the inspection. They sent out a guy to take a look. He had no problem getting his camera past the roots and called them "mild" compared to what he normally sees. He performed a hydro jetting to clean the line, which was what was recommended during the initial inspection. Once the mild roots were cleared he showed the section of the pipe that "had no top" and needed to be replaced was in great condition. He told me that the proposed repair would have been a complete waste of money. SHAME ON YOU ROOTERMAN. BAD BAD BUSINESS. read more

Had Rooter Man from the Belleville,Collinsville area called in to take care of a rental house during the holiday weekend. Kept getting phone calls on everything that was going to cost extra once they got there. Ended up finding that they tried to snake through a toilet and broke the side out of it. Now they will not pay for the toilet. When I drove to meet them to pay, they tried hiding the fact it was broken. Reggie and Marcel have answered the calls when I try to reach a responsible party. What a great experience. The people I talked to on the phone and the plumber (Albert) were awesome. He came in and showed me what could possibly be wrong. He suggested a couple of things, including my piping under the sink. So I fixed that problem and while doing so found the trap or s neck (Not sure what they call it.) Was completely clogged. Hi friends! It is with great disappointment that I am writing this review. I don't know whether the other favorable reviews were paid or not but our experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. My husband called up this company when our kitchen sink was backed up and they helped to clear it up. After the job they suggested hydro-jetting to clean up the roots, grease and more from all pipes in our house, including the main sewer line. Within few weeks from that visit we called this company again to preemptively have our sewer lines hydro-jetted. We paid a significant amount of money to get our lines hydro-jetted and the plumbing technician confirmed and assured us that the lines have been hydro-jetted properly. Also they offered a 8 months warranty post this hydro-jetting work. However, it turns up they did a very poor hydro-jetting job as we started experiencing backup issues in our bathroom within 2 weeks of the hydro-jetting. Having a 8 month plumbing warranty we called their office and scheduled an appointment for next day. They confirmed the appointment via email, phone call and text messages. I took half a day off from office to be home for that appointment. 30mins before the scheduled appointment we got a call from their office saying that the warranty was only for kitchen sink and nothing else !!!! This was a shock to us as there was no mention of this strangely limited scope of warranty in their invoice or paperwork. We checked it again and no such terms and conditions were mentioned. Surprisingly, this realization popped up 30 minutes before their scheduled visit. Seemed like they were trying to wiggle out of the warranty by making up baseless excuses. They were very confident earlier that hydro-jetting would resolve all backups and all sewer related clogging issues in our entire house and we agreed to pay so much money and do it in the first place because of such assurances. But now it seems they were claiming it was only for the kitchen, which was an absurd claim since we could have used other methods to clean it in the first place. We also consulted other plumbing companies and they confirmed. So this company and their scammy unprofessional behavior not only led to a loss of half my wages for the day but I also had to pay more money to another plumber to fix my plumbing issues. It seems their business model is suggesting expensive jobs to gullible customers like us, not doing the job properly and the never honoring their commitment once they get paid. I am extremely disappointed with their unprofessional behavior and will never ever deal with such a scammy company again. They not only did an extremely poor hydrojetting job but they also refused to honor their warranty when we called them to fix the poor hydrojetting job. I thought they did a good job because they talk a good talk but after referring them to my friends house they tried to do the same scenario it went from $49 to $3,200. There is such a wide variety of plumbing and rooter companies in the greater Los Angeles area, and this made it so much harder to make a clear decision about which one we wanted to hire. After getting some information about how these guys do business we felt comfortable enough to settle on an agreement with them. They scheduled an appointment for us the following day which we met Sam and Steven, they showed up fifteen minutes earlier than scheduled just for courtesy and we really appreciated this. They figured out the problem why our kitchen sink was leaking and it was due to a burst pipe that was connected throughout the house. I had called another we'll known company to come out and they scratched my expensive toilet and tried to sell me for a unnecessary outrageous repair. SCAM SCAM SCAM!! THIS COMPANY ARE LIARS & THIEVES. My bath was clogged.. toilet was spitting water I called the rooter man.The guy that showed up (1hr) late, was soooo shady!! I told him I was a single mother and needed him to be honest.. He told me, I only have 1 option which was an upsale for $500 NO other way to clear the leakage..It needed a hydro jet!! as there was no way to run a snake. No other way to snake the line.. I asked for another solution. He told me he could build an outlet for $3200.. so I could snake it any time, since the house didn't have one.. It seemed fishy. I called another plummer whilst he was still in the house. who told me If you dont have an outlet, you can snake through the toilet by removing the toilet. He said he would do the job for $120. I went back to the guy and asked him (since he was there and i had 6 kids about to be at my house) if he would just snake the toilet. (which the company offered for $49) and he then said he would need to charge me $150 to snake the toilet BUT would need to also do the bathtub (another $150) and Washing machine line (another $150) Totalling $450 !!! OTHERWISE the house would overflow with sewage and even then, it would not work and not solve the problem,.. These guys tried to SCAM me every step of the way. I told them I was low income.. 4 kids.. Single mother. They did NOT care! COMPLETE SCAM and no regard for praying on single woman.. with young kids. And this my friend is who you're dealing with.. I called Rooter Man because they offered a $49 sewer drain cleaning- which is what I have been needing! I was a little skeptical at first because the price is so good, especially considering they claimed to actually use a main line cable with blades. I sent two other companies away when they showed up at my door proposing to use a 3/8" cable (with no blades!) on my main line! Boris showed up on time and was very polite and informative. Indeed, he used a main line cable with blades, accessed the main line under my house through the clean out, and pulled out some roots which I had seen several weeks earlier through a camera inspection. He then recommended a $500 hydro jet (including camera inspection) to fully resolve the issue. No pressure or hard sell though, just his recommendation. And I get it: the $49 initial drain cleaning is more about starting the relationship which will, hopefully, lead to more work. Totally get it. The manner in which Boris made the suggestion was very matter-of-fact and I didn't feel like he was trying to up sell me. Should I decide hydro jetting is my next step, I will definitely consider Rooter Man again. Thanks Boris! read more

Our shower not draining, and sink overflowing up shower drain. Called plumber on Saturday. They said it would be $120 or $125 to come that day. They said $49 to come Monday to snake. On Sunday I get a call in morning that they have a service guy nearby and he can come over. $49 to snake. And actually same price everyday. The service man comes at 9:30 am on Sunday. He looks at bathroom and says they could make a hole in my dining room wall (other side of sink/shower) and create a permanent clean out . $650. I said, can't you snake through drain in bathroom? He said they only have 15ft of snake so could try going through under sink, but it would cost $120. I say, "so why did they quote us $49?". "That's if you have a clean out." I said, "We do have a clean out ,outside". "No, you need a clean out here." First, no one mentioned anything about $49 if clean out, and I have 4 houses and I've only heard of a clean out needed inside. None of my clean outs are in bathrooms. Plumbers have gone through toilet or shower or sink in the past. The guy calls his office and says, "Are you guys not doing your job? Customer says they weren't told it's $49 if they have clean out." The office says they'll listen to the recorded calls. Call back and they say yes, we told you "$49 with clean out." "But I do have a clean out. No one specified I need a clean out here in bathroom. Never heard of such a thing. And you didn't give me price if I didn't have a clean out in bathroom. Big jump from $49 to $120." Apparently all new homes since 1980 have to have clean outs in bathrooms. Give phone back to plumber. They chatter and then he tells me, "If you write us a good Yelp review, we'll only charge you $49. I'll just have to see and approve the review." HA! Bait and switch and bribe. Fantastic, honorable service. We proceed with snaking through the sink. In less than 10 minutes, the clog is cleaned out, and shower working find, no backup.10 min. I have him look at my water heater that smells of gas. He asks me if I want to turn it on, if I can, otherwise it will be $80 for him to turn on my pilot. I said I could turn it on. In 30 seconds its on. We smell gas. We wait. He concludes (after spraying with water/soap) that there are no leaks on main gas source, so it is probably the heating unit and best thing would be to replace the whole unit. $500 for parts and labor. Or just put in a new water tank (since ours is 10 years old at least). Price would be $1900 since the tank is upstairs and he'd have to bring extra person (unless my husband strong enough to help him carry it up., then it would be $1700). I had already gotten two other quotes for water tank and they were $1100 and $1450. On the positive side, Andres "seemed" very nice and at a least warned me of prices before performing things, called office to tell them my price concerns, did fix the problem, and offered me the 30 day guarantee (as if that isn't normal, though I read now in many reviews they do that regularly, though making it sound special.) I said I would pay the $120 and write whatever I wanted in review without their approval. Told him not to do anything with my water heater. bye bye. read more

My next door neighbor called Rooter Man plumbing on a Saturday to snake our shared pipes when their garbage disposal backed up. Raffi fixed the problem but the p-trap on our side suddenly started leaking. I called them later that day and spoke to the supervisor Johnny. They came back together on Sunday and check out the problem. They said my pipe was old and the snake itself was not likely the cause but rather the pressure from the snake on an old pipe that had lots of smalls cracks (they showed it to me). They agreed to fix it at no cost. They went and bought the part and returned back 40 minutes later and Raffi replaced the pipe. I am happy to know that their are still honorable people in this world. They accepted responsibility and did what they said. That kind of service goes a long way. This could have gone very bad. Negatives can sometimes turn into big positives. Rooter Man get's my recommendation and I RARELY yelp good or bad! read more

my property manager hired this company, their scheduling is a joke at best, they was supposed to arrive between 10:00 and 11:00 am on a Saturday for from what i was told is a camera pipe inspection. they changed it to between 1 and 2 pm and then again to 3 and 4 pm. it turns out the plumber just decided not to show up, but i had to cancel work meetings and ruin my whole Saturday. the plumbing technician said he talked to me the tenant and that i agreed he can come tomorrow sunday morning which is completely false i literally never talked to the plumbing technician today. they refuse to email me and they keep calling my phone and they will not leave a voice mail. i love being lied to and harassed by plumbers 6 days before christmas's. read more

I'm only giving a one-star because we can't give 0. Unfortunately I have reason to believe that Andres with Rooter-Man was lying when giving us his diagnosis about our pipe situation today. I had a laundry sink severely clogged. He went outside and checked under the house and said that he saw 1) water leaking and 2) the pipe joints in a few places leaking. He said he was afraid to snake the pipe at this point because he was fearful the pipe would crack open. I told him there was a makeshift drain under the washer that was probably leaking because the sink had overflowed the day before. He insisted he also saw the joints leaking. He did offer to show me but I decided to call my parents who own the home. They talked to him on the phone. Andres had already gotten an estimate with his boss who quoted $2100 to replace 20' of pipe under the house. Then on the phone with my dad he repeatedly states "you can trust us" "I hope you let us finish the job", etc. (turns out my dad was telling him that he wanted to talk to our next door neighbor first who is a contractor and who is a plumber to get another esitmate). So then Andres starts dropping the price on the phone to $1800 everything included and a 20-year warranty. The price drop was a "senior discount". He also called my dad "boss" on the phone. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Ultimately I am SO THANKFUL we did NOT use Rooter-Man because guess what? Our contractor neighbor from All-In-One Construction came over a few hours later and WITHIN 15 MINUTES had snaked the pipe, fixed the clog and proved to me that THERE WAS NOT A LEAK AT ALL. The joints, in fact, WERE BONE DRY. I'm running a load of laundry right now, the drain is fine and no pipes are leaking or cracked. Hmm. I am actually pretty shocked that I was blatantly lied to. Or, Andres didn't know what he was talking about. I'm pretty sure he did and he was taking us for an $1800 ride. Our friend shared with us these people WORK ON COMISSION. This was not a surprise to him and he says he deals with guys like these all day long. I also find it weird, and sad, that when I came here to write a review that SO MANY people have had several feet of pipes replaced in their home. How many people have Rooter-Man taken advantage of? How many "seniors" have been duped? Please, before you use Rooter-Man, do some reseach, know your own pipes, make sure you see an actual leak before committing to have them rip our drywall, etc. read more
