The technicians name was Gary (which we actually joked about how at least 1 Gary knew how to do plumbing) and put in all his effort to unclog the main line. Took a little less than 30 minutes and he was on his way. The charge was $55, which is better than a backed up toilet! I also had an issue with a pump on the toilet and mentioned it to Gary and he checked it out. He just needed to tighten a screw on the pump. I was going to go out and buy a whole other part. I called them to have someone come out to give me an estimate on the fee for installation ONLY on a tank less water heater, again only the installation not the tank. Well, Ed AKA Eddie came to my house and when I told him what I needed he said that their installation only fee would be $2,800!!!! He then told me that he could get me a tank less heater for approximately $700. OK time for a little math...2800+700=3500, so if I choose to go with them for BOTH the heater and installation I'd be looking at $3,500....at least that's what I thought. But wait, that is the math I came up with, apparently their math is not the same kind of math I learned in school. So playing "stupid" and out of curiosity I asked Ed: "Ok, so if I get the heater from you how much would it be for everything, tank AND installation?" It's difficult to find plumbing service on a Sunday. After about 4 calls to various companies with answering services, Express Plumbing & Rooter actually answered and was able to accept a service call for drain cleaning at their online advertised Sunday Special of $65. I was told a rep would arrive within 90 minutes. I believe Steven arrived in about 30 minutes. The van is well labeled and looksbto be in great condition. Which leads me to believe they care about their image and product. Steven snaked my main line drain in under 15 minutes. I did read the Yelp reviews after I made the appointment. I was tempted to cancel the call, but knew what I wanted so I decided a drain cleaning shouldn't go wrong and it didn't. Steven never tried to upsell me or steer me into other services. Approximately a week ago I had a backed up main line with a clean out in the front yard. So I called around and received multiple quotes from many companies, Needless to say i chose express plumbers. Someone came out immediately that night to diagnose the situation quoting me $189 (emergency/ same day price) and tomorrow $65 (during regular business hours). I reschedule an appointment for the next day and the guy comes as scheduled with a courtesy call saying he is on his way. He snakes the drain and is on his way, done... 3 days later, however, I notice an overflow/ backup in my shower so i call them back and the receptionist was very professional and said she would talk to her supervisor and send someone out at no extra charge to me. Alex (original plumber) and Johnny (Supervisor) come back out to scope the pipes and found multiple areas where roots had infiltrated the drain. Johnny and company not only re-snakes the drain completely but does a complete investigation as to why the drain is backing up into the shower. He finds that there are two separate breaks under the house. First under the shower and the second under the junction between the sink and the toilet (Gross). I can't say enough about my experience dealing with Johnny he is very professional and also transparent regarding his plumbing quotes. He asked me if I would like to get a few quotes together to fix the problem and then call him back on his personal cell phone so he could beat or meet the competitions quotes. I felt his approach to dealing with customers was very thorough and gave me and my wife piece of mind when facing such a stressful situation. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Completely incompetent and unprofessional. I called them to fix a blocked kitchen sink in my condo. A guy came out, poked around for an hour and claimed that he couldn't fix it. Said the issue was so far down the stack pipe that I would have to hydro-jet the drain (surprise, it's more expensive!) or cut a giant hole in my wall. They still charged me $135 for wasting my time and theirs. I called my HOA who had their plumber come out. He was able to fix the problem in 10 mins and charged us only $57. When I called Express, it took me over a week to get a hold of someone after speaking to a guy and girl on the phone who took down my story and promised a manager would call me back. They never did. When I finally cornered Omar, he got frustrated and said he already spoke to me and gave me a 50% discount. A 50% discount for some guy to NOT fix an easy problem and then try and upsell us on more expensive solutions?? I don't care if your technician had to come out. If they don't even know how to operate a snake, they don't deserve to be paid. I'll be disputing the charge with Amex. Update: Called Amex to dispute the issue and they agreed it didn't sound right. I called in around 9pm on Thursday evening and they were able to schedule someone to come out at 11 a.m. on Friday morning. I was lucky enough to have Oscar come out to my residence. This is the 2nd time Oscar comes out to assist and just as the first time, he was punctual, clean and very friendly. Oscar was able to locate the problem right away and even was able to go under the house as he felt the problem was bigger than was visible. He was able to point out the issues and provide an estimate. After taking a look at the problem and having sewage come out of the pipes. Oscar was able to run the snake and clear the pipes but he also cleaned the sewage mess which I appreciated tremendously. He did not pressure or do any hard sales but instead was able to correct the problem and provide an estimate for future repairs that needed to be done. Great service!!! Arman is awesome! I had what I thought was a washer drain clog, and feared calling the plumber, because I am so used to being told false information. I saw the Express Plumbing ad on the internet and took the plunge. Arman came and diagnosed the issue. As it turns out, I didn't have a clog, the water exhaust tube was just too short, which caused the initial water exit from the spin cycle to overflow from the top of my drain. I have a sick kid, house guests, a backed up line and I wasted the whole day by making the mistake of calling this company. The technician showed up and ran his line, while he was pulling it up he said "sorry bro, you have a problem with your line". "yeah, that's why I called you" I said. I was remodeling one of my bathrooms myself but decided to bring in a plumber for all the piping so it could be done right. I had a few companies come by and give estimates but I ended up going with Express. The foreman Sam was very helpful in explaining everything to me (and I had a LOT of questions before they started). Halfway through the project I decided to upgrade my hot water heater to a tankless and Sam recommended Takagi brand (now I recommend it too). I think I got a discount on the tankless install since they bundled it with my bathroom project but I'm glad I don't have to worry about running out of hot water again. Overall I'm very happy with the plumbing work that was done everything seems to be working fine and now I don't have pipes vibrating in the walls every time I flush the toilet at night. Update: Had another plumbing issue at one of my rental properties and decided to call Express Plumbing again. They came out the next day and the issue was fixed for a reasonable price. read more

When I called this company for rooting service, I had no idea they had such bad reviews on Yelp. But since I had a good experience with them, I feel the company deserves a good review because I was, in fact, happy with their service. At first, I was not pleased to hear that I was going to be charged the commercial price versus the residential price because our townhomes are 3 stories tall and have underground plumbing, hence the 4 stars. But, the guy ended up not charging me at all for his work since he didn't feel like he truly fixed my problem (a reoccurring backed up drain). He at least cleared my drain for the time being but recommended that a hydrojet would be a more permanent fix. That was completely kind of him to not charge me at all, and he was there for at least an hour! read more

DON'T USE THESE GUYS! I had a very ugly experience. I needed a simple cleanout of the main sewer line from the house to the street. No blockage, just a normal maintenance. I called and a woman quoted me $65 and I set an appointment. First, they went to the wrong address across the street twice and I was lucky to see them, 3 hours late. I showed the technician the work and he said it would be $165. When I protested he was ready with excuses: the $65 must have been a special price from a year ago, and then, "Are you sure she didn't say $165?" I can tell the difference between a 65 and a 165 over the phone, so I told him to leave. I am convinced that this is a deliberate tactic: quote a low price to get in, then when the customer is anxious to have the work done, name a higher price and come up with an excuse. Pretend it was a miscommunication. Well, lucky me. I was not desperate and kicked them out. I have since found another rooter company who did the work at a reasonable price. Not to be trusted. We had some plumbing issues with a sink, bath tub faucet, and toilets. Our home warranty sent out this company to do the repairs. First of all, it took them 3 visits to finish all the work because every time he came out, he didn't have parts. Regarding our bathtub faucet, we have some brand that went out of business a while ago so the parts are hard to find. The plumber said that if he wasn't able to find the parts, he would have to tear out the tile and the wall behind the faucet to replace the whole thing. We had a similar issue with another bathtub and another plumber was able to replace it without destroying walls or tiles. Luckily he was able to find the part and make the fix. read more

We got him the payment and he left a day later we had a same issue then I called they said we send someone next day between 9:00 to 9:30 am. (For first visit they send someone within 4 hrs. but to come back we had to wait till next day). My wife had to change her morning schedule to stay home and they never showed up I called them at 10:10 am they said we don't have a technician that can help at this time. Our toilet was not flushing well so called them and all they did was use the augger for the toilet. It didn't work and then he told me that I'll need to replace our pipes. I asked about the camera but he said that they will need to come out again and it'll cost around $175. So I said no, and he was going to charge me $110 for the augger. I told him that they told me it'll cost $55 to come out here and fix the toilet clog. Since he didn't even fix the clog I figured it would be free but he still charged me $55. Well..I don't usually write reviews, but this one deserves a special mention. I had call Express Plumbing and Rooter Service to come out last week on 12/20/15. The initial response and service was good. My kitchen drain was stuffed up and Sam, the technician the company sent out was polite, helpful, and gave great customer service. The cost to snake out the drain was a bit on the high side, north of $300 and the technician gave a 90 day warranty. Only one week (12/27/15) after, the drain plugged up again. (Nothing usual was dumped into, it's not like i stuck a steak down the disposal). I called them up on Sunday to get a technician out for Monday and the customer service rep told me someone will be out from 11am-1pm. At 12:30 the next day, I gave them a call, because no technician had contacted me. 15 minutes, Sam the same technician as before called me and told me no technician was available at all for the day, but can come on Tuesday and he can try out to come out today (tuesday 12/29/15). This morning I called to verify if a technician can come out and they advised no one can come out until 5pm. I asked the customer service person if I can speak to the manager to express my frustration with the delay in service (after all it has "express" and "service" in its title. Neither of which I am being provided at this current time) and was told he (Aram) is not in til 10am. I called at 10:05 am and was put on hold and the customer service advised he (manager: Aram) was aware of call and will contact me in 10 minutes. Well, it has been 40 min since I called and now I am even more frustrated with the lack of "express" and lack of "service" with this company. There was a reason I called on Sunday to schedule an appointment for Monday, in which the customer service advised there will be a technician to come out. I am now waiting a for call from the manager and a technician to respond. I hope this company isn't just interested in getting my initial business, but unwilling to continue to provide the service for me to return as a happy customer. I shall happily change my yelp review if and when they respond back and provide the warranty that was covered when I paid over $300 to get a drain snaked out. ***update*** 12/29/15 @13:45 hrs. Sam the technician called me and was very responsive and apologized for the delay in service and for the customer service that was provided by the company. He promised to come out today to fix my drainage problem. I appreciated the call from Sam and his apology. **update #2*** 12/29/15 @14:20. Aram the manager called, apologized for the mis-communication and for not getting back to me with an update for the service. He wanted to make sure his customers are happy and taken care of. He assured me someone will be out by tonight and take care of the drainage issue, as well as upholding the 90 day warranty. I appreciated and thanked him for reaching out, calling, back, and taking care of his customers. **update #3** 12/29/15 @1649. Sam came out and snaked the drain and was courteous and straightforward about the issues with my drain. He explained the drain is extremely plugged and a snake would only solve the problem temporary, hopefully that it'll last awhile. He suggested the that if I was doubtful, he can offer the camera option so I can see for myself how clogged the drain was. He also offered the option of the "hydro clean" as a way to clean out the sludge, but if that doesn't work then a new drain was the best way to solve the problem for a long term solution. I appreciated Sam's honesty and service, it was quick and efficient. He understood my point of view and concern over the appointment that was scheduled and when it was not met. I understand that small business rely on reviews here on Yelp and word of mouth..and I am willing to support the businesses that provide top service for their customers. I appreciate Express plumbing and rooter service for handling a customers complaint and rectified the issue in a timely manner.
