I was traveling on 1-65 and started thinking about lunch. I searched Yelp and found Great Harvest, so I took a quick detour. This restaurant smells wonderful! The aroma of bread baking is in the air. I ordered a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and grilled cheese sandwich on cheddar jalapeño bread for carry out. The soup was served piping hot, and was creamy with plenty of cheddar. Delicious! And the grilled cheese had cheddar, provolone, and garlic herb spread. It was perfectly toasted. Service was very friendly and also fast. I'll definitely make this a regular stop on my frequent trips between Indianapolis and Hammond. read more

I ordered Great Harvest through Door Dash yesterday. I ordered Ham Cheese 1/2 sandwich and cup of broccoli and chesses soup. When I got the meal, the sandwich (which was clearly labelled as ham and cheese) was, in fact, turkey and cheese. I hate turkey, so much for the sandwich. Then I tasted the soup and it tasted weird, but i wasn't sure if it was me, so i had ALL of my coworkers tried it and all agreed that it tasted really strange. I called the store and told them all of the above and whoever answered the phone said her manager wasn't in but would call me back, yesterday. I got no phone call. Now i can't say if this is typical of Great Harvest, but it was first experience and I will not be returning. Also the coworkers that taste tested for me will not be ordering from there either. read more

I've been here a few times now and can say that the food is always fresh and tasty, the service is awesome and the staff are usually kind and accommodating! Their cinnamon loaf is out of this world and I had a chance to try their veggie sandwich which was amazing with the pickled onions. The blueberry scones when they have them are top notch and the cinnamon roll is by far my favorite cheat sweet. The atmosphere is pretty calm and it's easy to enjoy your food or even get work done because it's not too loud inside. read more

We had no food at home, and wanted a good breakfast sandwich. Went here because they make great ones. Nobody in line at drive through, and we order 2 sandwiches. One without the garlic spread. I get home, and that sandwich has that spread all over it. Now I have the loaf of the bread I bought from them, so I guess I'll have to eat that. I thought autumn apple bread would be good. It was not. I am having a shit morning. About 50% of the time I order, my order is messed up. THERE'S LITERALLY NOBODY ELSE THERE AND YOU CAN'T GET 2 SANDWICHES RIGHT? I have enjoyed several different breads and "goodies" from Great Harvest, so when I received an email stating that they were making Irish soda bread, I made a special trip to pick up a couple loaves. I had to order it because I was told it was only available Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and I came in on a Friday. So, I ordered 2 loaves and returned on Saturday to pick it up. Being of Irish heritage, I know what this bread should taste like. I was very disappointed that one of the loaves was so overcooked as to be almost burnt on the bottom. Not much flavor; really just tasted like dry raisin bread. For $10 a loaf, I expected better. So, go to Great Harvest for their "everyday" breads and sweets, but don't bother with the Irish soda bread. I can get a better loaf at Strack's grocery for half the price. read more

The food an service were both awesome! The moment we entered, we were admiring the butters, honey, and textiles and knickknacks. We felt many items would be nice Christmas gifts. The general ambiance was like that of a country store/deli. The fresh bread and seasoned butter were so amazing that we had to order more to take home. My daughter loves the tomato soup and my husband favored the chicken noodle soup. The bacon grilled cheese and Turkey sandwiches were also tasty. Sorry we didn't remember to take pics! I've passed the Great Harvest restaurant in Crown Point a few times, finally was able to stop. It's a quaint little spot that blends a little shop, bakery, and a restaurant. You get to sample some of the bread as you wait in line to order your food. The bread was really good. I try a salad, and it was fine. Nothing to write home about. If I go back, I'd probably try a sandwich since the bread was so good. There's also a cute little shop inside where you can buy more than just baked goods, some cute little gifts. I went to this location for the Grand Opening- as soon as you open the door the smell of freshly baked bread just smacks you. The bread is obviously delicious- that is a given at Great Harvest. I was surprised by how good the sandwiches are though. I got the Turkey Chipotle sandwich and it didn't disappoint. Service was excellent with everyone very friendly and patient along with providing recommendations (can't wait to make French toast with the cinnamon swirl loaf I bought). The owners were there with their kids to celebrate the opening and seem to be wonderful people. A great addition to Crown Point! read more
