Upon a home inspection I was told that I needed a new heater. After calling my home warranty company and finding out that they would not pay to replace it I called Roper's. Jamie was so helpful. Three weeks ago, my wife and I meet with Dirk Roper (owner) to obtain a bid to supply heating and air conditioning to our new house we are building in Wellington. We were there for over an hour going over the plans. Dirk was taking notes as we went over the heating and cooling units, insulation, ducting of fans and hood vent, etc. He stated that he would get right on this and get back to us next week. Two weeks later, I have not received any response. I called and talked to (I think) the office manager. She stated that they were closing in 15 minutes, and she would call me in the morning. Again, no response. Today I went to retrieve our plans and I thank them for returning my phone call. The office manager went ballistic. She started screaming and cursing at me. I said, "you were the one that said you would call me back". She followed me out to the parking lot calling extremely vulgar names. Dirk had told us that he had wonderful employees and excellent service. If you choose to do business with Dirk, hope you find his wonderful employee and excellent service. read more

I had James over yesterday to do an HVAC inspection on a rental I'm selling. He was courteous, fast and thorough. He removed his shoes on the new carpet when he saw me do the same. So appreciated. I mentioned the home inspector noted smelling gas by the drier, and he offered to check with his gas detector. Definitely above and beyond. Called for an appointment to diagnose a commercial air conditioner not working. The tech Anthony (very professional and honest) was there the next day and diagnosed the problem quickly. He gave me several options to proceed based on costs. I chose the least expensive option and Anthony added refrigerant and in less than an hour the A/C was working great. He also changed the filter for me. All in all, this experience could not have gone any better and I will return for any AC/Heating needs. UPDATE: After 2 days of use the air conditioner stopped working. Previous tech said it may have a leak so I assumed the worst. I had another local shop take a look at it and they said there was no leak at all but a relatively inexpensive fix and they fixed it after another $200. Should have caught this the first time Roper's so I am changing my review to 3 stars. read more

Our furnace went out mid-Feb. 2017. Anthony came out and performed the serviced. We were charged a fair price for labor. Part was a little on the high end of the price range from what I can see online. Anthony was very thorough. During post install tests he found our unit was putting out 6ppm of carbon monoxide. Good to know but over 70ppm is cause for concern so I feel he was trying to scare my 86 year old father into the replacement estimate of $6k. Also, come summer the A/C wasn't cooling. Called our regular guy and for free he reconnected the wire. Hmm prelude to a summer service call. Seems fishy to me. read more

Try anyone else but them. Salespeople are commission-based & try to sell new unit, not to repair. They quoted repair $450 but I could buy a new unit installed for $1,000. They quoted $2000 installed for new unit. And the worst thing - call out charge $66 which is ok BUT then $120 for labor when they didn't fix anything. These guys are the best... we just bought a house, it has hydronics (hot water is the heat source) and the control board and air handler were some weird old system from a company out of business. When it went bad, I had no idea where to turn. After two companies came out and went away with no answers, Darryl and Fred came out and re-designed a new system. The price was fair, they were punctual, polite and professional... everything was documented so I'd be able to address any future issues with some baseline. I just recently had my air-conditioner unit serviced at the salon that I own and their technician Anthony did quite a lot to my unit. Anthony clean the coils, changed the filter and ran new wires from the unit on the roof to my thermostat in the salon.they also put in a new thermostat.Anthony was very thorough, competent and most of all courteous. We have no problems with the work that was done, however, the price was outrageous! Less than 2 hours was spent for a total labor charge of $289., plus a diagnostic charge of $79. (although we knew what the problem was), for a total of $368.00 ! We will not call them again. read more

I had an unusual ventilation problem involving indoor air quality. The installed ERV was not doing the job. Fallon sent out a knowledgeable rep who made actual measurements of the existing system and recommended a supplemental system. Our installation was a little unusual too, but they were very creative at finding effective solutions. The quality of work (installation) was very good as was attention to detail. In the end, their solution worked better than expected. They were a pleasure to work with. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is that they were a little slow and the installed price was a little higher than they originally quoted. It was worth the extra money. read more
