Great option in Chincoteague where your options are limited. Prime location right on the bay which would be great for sunset. Memorable iced tea and the spicy "deadliest" boil was great - crab legs, shrimp, sausage, corn. My mom loved the chincoteague boil as well. Would go back!

We went an hour before closing, so maaaaaybe that's why the food was so bad but it was really abysmal. The flounder was way overcooked so much so that I had to fight it with a knife. The green beans were blistered but in a way that made them unpalatable. Breaded shrimp were very heavily breaded. Only real positive I have is the environment is cool, my kids loved the playground, and they had an extensive drink menu. Would not recommend for food, unfortunately.

Our last visit was in March 2025 to which we enjoyed our visit and meals. Things certainly changed between then and July 2026. They were out of several draft and bottled craft beers. We specifically asked for the sauce on the tuna appetizer to be served on the side as it only needs a little. That did not happen. The kicker was the $23 fish & chips. One piece of fish (as shown in the attached picture) that was falling apart, not crispy and somewhat soggy. The waffle fries would have been decent if they hadn't been sitting for an extended period before serving. My wife ordered the same and was better (hot) but still one piece of fish. For a town/region know for fresh fish, this is well below local standard. Our bartender was OK but preferred serving the locals, some of whom were clearly there all day drinking themselves into a stupor. Save your money for betters places while visiting Chincoteague.

Stumbled upon this place about 3 years ago and had one of the best crab cakes in my life. It was so good that I'm thinking about it years later and had to come and write the review. 100% crab...No filler. I've stopped ordering crab cakes because of the lackluster quality of the crab. But it was absolutely worth it here. Light yet flavorful and juicy. Breading was seasoned and delicious. The rice with it was paired beautifully. And I loveddddd the buttery greens. I sure ate the whole plate. Kevin was the server. Nice ambiance as well during the evening hours. Would love to eventually come back.

Eh. Service was mid. They took forever and we saw our server just kinda standing around. The Hawaiian tacos were delicious, I loved them. But my family did not enjoy their meal as much as I. Food was really expensive for a meal to be just "Ok" The views were really really pretty, especially at sunset. Plus the customers had adorable outfits. Honestly it's just a service problem. They had so many workers yet took so long.

Great night to sit on n the water and eat good food. The views from this restaurant are always amazing. Service was OK but the manager helped out to ensure our needs were met. Thank you

Fun spot for a drink and apps! Usually has live music and a breezy seat at the bar. Try the pineapple upside down crush!

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a Saturday in November. Since it was the off season, it was easy to get a table. I was really excited when the bartender was able to make me a mocktail since I'm pregnant and they didn't have any mocktails listed on their drink menu. The bartender was very attentive and friendly the whole duration of our luncheon. My husband got a crab cake sandwich ($26) and I got a grilled chicken sandwich ($16). Both were delicious and flavorful. The restaurant was clean and had ample parking out front. They have a really nice pirate-themed playground for kids that is fenced in. Kids were playing on it when we arrived and looked like they were having a blast! We would eat here again.

My husband and I had lunch at Ropewalk a couple of weeks ago because a friend had given us a gift card there. Being in mid March, we were offered a table close to the bar (away from the windows), so we'd stay warmer --but we couldn't resist the lure of sitting on the high chairs and looking out at the boat traffic, sparse as it was. So we just kept our light jackets on. Once the food and drinks began arriving and the music cranked up a bit, the place easily felt twenty degrees warmer anyway. The food was really good. Fresh, savory, done just right. The waitress was helpful: proactive, attentive, but also gave space. We ate at several other restaurants in Chincoteague that weekend, but this one was by far the best!

Nothing heard from the restaurant, further affirming their indifference! That is unfortunate, I hoped for a positive response.

Food was ok nothing to jump up and down about, the app came out at first but was resolved and the flavor was good though my wife got the dirty crab boil and was very pleased with it the cocktail sauce was made in house.

LIVELY ATMOSPHERE AND LIVE MUSIC: Fun, upbeat vibe. The place was busy. Live music from local musician on Andrew Ward on the back porch really added to the night. Tried the Flounder Roulade. It looked good and was slightly over-cooked and lacking a little flavor. The clam chowder with crab claw meat was a lot better... creamy and satisfying. Seafood lovers should opt for Steamers but Ropewalk wins when it comes to atmosphere. Great spot to hang out, listen to music, and enjoy the company of friends.

We went there for dinner. The food was good. The location is right on the water. They have a small playground for the kids, which was nice.

    What are the menu prices?

Sorry! That was the first time I had been to the restaurant and it was a good while ago so I actually do not remember the prices. I do remember thinking they were reasonable and I love sitting out in the sandy area.

We popped in for a casual beer break, and it quickly turned into one of the highlights of the day. The space itself is gorgeous! It's open, airy and designed with a laid-back coastal vibe that fits Cape Charles perfectly. You order both beer and food inside at the counter, which keeps things easy and low- key. I went with the Pilsner, and it was exactly what I wanted, perfect after a day out exploring. Their beer list has something for everyone, whether you're into lighter options or something with a bit more depth. We didn't order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked incredible. They've got plenty of options like burgers, nachos, and other brewery favorites that definitely seemed worth trying next time. What really stood out was the atmosphere. There was so much going on in the best way. They had a dog adoption event happening outside while we were there, which added such a fun, community-driven vibe. They also host live music and other events regularly, so it feels like there's always something to check out. The outdoor space is huge and perfect if you're with a group or bringing kids. There's a fire pit, games like cornhole, and plenty of room to spread out and hang for a while. Definitely the kind of place you plan to stop at for one drink and end up staying much longer. I will be adding this to my must visit list anytime I'm on the Eastern Shore.

So, a burger costs $18 and comes with fries…read more A side of Fries alone is $7. A side of onion rings is $8. However, if you want to substitute onion rings instead of fries it will cost you $8 extra, making it a $26 meal. So really you're just buying a side of onion rings and also not getting the fries. This is not a substitution. This is buying more and getting less. Please tell me how this makes any sense!?!? I gave quite a bit of push back along with some real life number crunching... but the employee could not seem to understand the lack of logic that, based on their menu prices, an onion ring substitution should be more like $1, and not $8. This is adding 45% to the cost of the meal which is absurd. This is not a surcharge, it's just buying onion rings and also not getting the fires that come with the meal. I wasn't going to pay $26 for a burger, so got the fries which were actually amazing, but not what I wanted... and the burger just was okay... but I can't seem to get over their lack of understanding that this makes no sense. Just write no substitutions if you don't want to bother catering to your customers! I was a tourist heading home from a mini vacation and REALLY craving onion rings, this venue made me super grumpy for no good reason except stubbornness and lack of math skills and reasoning and customer service. Not impressed.
