Discovered Rori's when I was researching places in Santa Monica (they've opened a shop down there). Their Monticeto location is perfect for those of us traveling to or from LA on 101. What particularly attracted me was several of their flavors. I couldn't wait to try the malted milk ball and the root beer. Both were tasty. I'm a fan. The flavors are not quite intense enough to get the five stars, but I do appreciate those places trying to move beyond salted caramel as their innovative blend. read more

Unique flavors & super friendly employees ! My favorite was the passionfruit, though the caramel apple and pineapple whip are also really good. My only complaint is that I wish the store was bigger so there would be indoor seating, but the ice cream is so good I don't really mind enjoying it outside (even on a cold winter night). Delicious artisanal ice cream with flavors that you wouldn't find in Baskin robbins. But of course slightly higher priced, but well justified. I really liked the brown sugar banana and the honey almond crunch. And their cones really compliment the ice cream. They have a nice sweetness and crunch. The only thing is my cone wasn't rolled properly and my ice cream was leaking through the bottom. And it didn't help that it was 90 degree weather. But all in all, love the different and unique flavor options with great quality ice cream. read more

My husband and I arrived about 9 PM there were three or four people in line ahead of us, we didn't have a long wait, and the server was friendly...now, the ice cream...deliciously amazing!!! Crazy good high quality organic ice cream. They were great about allowing us to try their flavors before deciding and even offered up their own favorites as suggestions. Mix and match option allows you to NOT have to choose just one flavor (3 small scoops in a cup). Rori's was really good but coming from Bi-Rite Creamery in San Francisco...it's difficult to compare. Rori's is expensive ($5.00 for one scoop and $6.50 for a double). The ice cream is delicious no doubt, but I didn't feel that it was worth the price. I had the wildberry crisp and my husband had the salted caramel. Both were good...however the salted Carmel was runny/melted. Bi-Rite Creamery in SF was-out-of-the world amazing. It was so good, I had been searching for another organic homemade artisanal ice cream shop, hence the stop off the 101 to Rori's. Would I return? No, I wouldn't make a special stop just for this ice cream. If I am already in the area and I feel like spending $7 for a double, I might. read more

Had Rori's for the first time last week and again this week, different flavors each (lemon curd & honey lavender), and my impression is that they flavors there are very strong. The lemon curd has zest (I'm assuming)- great because they're using real ingredients, but it felt waxy in my mouth. Honey lavender had a bit too much lavender for my taste, like I was taking a huge whiff of concentrated oil before each bite. I can understand the appeal, and I might not have been feeling like strong flavors those days. I'm still hopeful I'll be able to find a flavor I'll like here. read more

Ice cream fanatic here. Rori's is top drawer. Yes, it's pricey and store is super teeny.But they serve their crafted ice cream at the correct temperature, so it has perfect mouth feel. My favorite flavors here are Biscoff (which is smooth) and the Pistachio (which is nut rich). The cones are a perfect compliment to the ice cream. read more

It was almost impossible to find this place. My phone was dead so I was asking people on the sidewalk, even stopped into a couple of businesses....nobody knew, or else they pointed me to a gelato place. Turns out it's in the vons Center, hidden in the back behind Montecito Natural foods. Tiny little shop. No sign out front, not listed in the mall directory, no cone on the sidewalk, no clues. The ice cream was great. A triple scoop was 7.75, probably the most iv'e ever paid for ice cream but almost in line with the non-organic McConnells. Best flavors we had were Maple Pecan (they toasted the pecans!), Coconut John Martin, Banana Brown Sugar and the Peanut Butter with Chocolate. All yummers in the tummers. read more

Freshly prepared, delicious artisanal ice cream. The mint patty tastes like mint freshly plucked from a garden-- so fresh. The root beer float is exquisite! The staff is kind and understanding; when my 8-year old decided she didn't like hers (she thought the creamsicle flavor would be orange and cream) they promptly replaced it with another flavor of her choice. So glad we found Rori's! The location is a little funny, around the corner from Von's, but the ice cream is outstanding. I love that they give little (real) spoons to try the flavors, what a fun change over plastic spoons. I think it's really the details that make this a cute artisinal place. we had the special of the week which i WISH WISH they kept- honey and some kind of honey crunch. so good. but my favorite is salted caramel. so yes, try it. outstanding ice cream, and in montecito, it blows scoop out of the water (which, in my opinion, is outrageously priced and sub par- watery even for gelato). we'll be sticking with rori's from now on for date night. read more

I will spend insane amounts of money on dessert and will even research good ice cream places before vacations. We are vacationing in Montecito and I was so excited to try Rori's. Got there last night at 9:50- was told that all the scoopers had been put away and they could only sell the pre packaged pints. Walked out of there at 9:55 with two flavors- almost 10$ for two little scoops. They were delicious- but hard- like what you'd get at the grocery store-not what you want when you go out for ice cream. Seriously expensive fancy ice cream. So I say c'mon people- how hard is it to stay open til you're supposed to close? And when a customer comes in right before close- scoop the freaking ice cream. How hard could that be? How much longer could it have taken? It's called customer service, you're not doing favors. Just a bummer. read more
