From the moment we walked into Rosa Blanca in Allentown until the moment we left, we felt truly welcomed by every member of the staff -- including Chef Kourtney herself. Our servers, Ashon and Rob, were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and despite the restaurant being packed, the two of them managed the entire floor flawlessly. Every table was attended to, service was smooth, and they kept the place spotless. They are definitely a fantastic team! A special shoutout to Ashon, who made the best coffee, and to Chef Kourtney, who personally came out to check on us. She even surprised us with a heavenly crème brûlée French toast with cream and guava syrup -- truly something else! That dish alone is worth the visit. The hospitality here was incredible. We felt genuinely cared for and welcomed, and the food was outstanding. We took photos of our dishes, but trust me... the pictures don't do them justice. If you're thinking about visiting this place, don't think too hard -- just go! You won't regret it.

Rosa Blanca is the new Cuban Cafe and Rum bar in center city Allentown. Celebrity Chef Jose Garces recently opened this eatery for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant has a beautiful Art Deco Havana vibe. The chairs are comfy and the warm, lively atmosphere makes you feel you're in the Caribbean. We found the food to be very good and the service to be spot on. Yaya was the most lovely, happy server who knew everything about the menu and told us she's tried everything! We started with the Maduros (sweet plantains with black bean purée and queso fresco)- wow what a wonderful bowl of Cuban culinary culture! My wife went with a Chicken Milanesa bowl which had lots of options for mix-ins, toppings, and sauces. The chicken was succulent and perfectly prepared, however, the mix-ins seemed to be small-portioned, as the whole bowl was a bit smaller than we may have expected. I enjoyed the incredibly authentic Cuban which was yummy and filling but perhaps a bit dry. We finished the night with a macchiato made to perfection. Overall, we think Rosa Blanca has a great chance of thriving in Allentown and with our vibrant Cuban community I'm sure Chef Garces will find success here.

Since this past summer this place has been my go to brunch spot in Allentown. It feels like a hidden gem in the crowded food scene on Hamilton Street. The Cuban inspired cuisine is out of this world and you truly can't beat the prices. I love that the menu is on the smaller side. They know what they do well and prioritize quality over quantity. My favorite dish is the Rosa Breakfast Wrap but I do look forward to exploring the rest of the menu. I've been here for dinner once and I loved the Ensalada Verde. The ambiance is also a big highlight for me. The seating is so comfortable that I love just reading here sometimes and it's one of the few places I take my ear buds out while eating solo so I can immerse myself in the atmosphere by listening to Spanish-language music and eavesdropping on conversations of my fellow diners. This place should have a line around the block for brunch every weekend but just as long as they have a table saved for me. Special shoutout to Fran and Ashon who take great care of their guest and are just a joy to chat with.

Yesterday I was sadly disappointed in the quality of the food and will probably not return. We ordered pernil (pork), roasted chicken, and rice and beans. Pernil done right is one of the most satisfying Spanish dishes. It should be tender, flavorful, and fall apart. What I had yesterday was none of that. The meat was dry, flavorless, slightly tough, and I found a few human hairs in mine. Talk about a turn-off. Also the portion wasn't very large at all for the two of us. The pernil arrived on a plate one would use as a saucer for a teacup. Very small. The chicken was not much better. It was a combination of both greasy and dry, and was hard to swallow. The rice was crunchy as if it was taken from the bottom of the hoya. Not appetizing. I have to say the best part of the meal was probably the beans, which tasted like a can of Goya's pink beans with some additions to it. If you're looking for good Spanish food, take a trip to Bethlehem and visit El Caribe on Broadway. The food has a better flavor and the prices are cheaper. If you crave sub-par Spanish food at high prices, then check out Solido's. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Really glad we did. The area was busier and with more foot traffic than we expected, which actually made it fun for people watching. We sat outside and the vibe was just easy and welcoming. Not packed, but well attended. Service really made the night. Angel took great care of us and didn't just check in, he actually spent time with us, talked through things, and made the whole experience feel personal. The general manager (we believe his name was) Kevin came over as well and was just as engaged, calm, and genuinely open. Food-wise, the beef and chorizo meatballs were insane. Easily one of the best things we had all weekend. The steak skewers with mashed potatoes were also excellent. Great flavor, cooked right, and the presentation was really nice. We also tried the meat paella and it didn't hit the same. The meat was overcooked and the balance felt off. We shared that honestly, and both Angel and Kevin handled it incredibly well. No defensiveness at all. Kevin comped the dish right away and said he'd talk to the chef, which I respected. Drinks were fun and creative. We tried the coconut lavender and the Honeycrisp sangria. Both really unique, just a little sweet for my taste. Overall, this is a place that clearly cares about the experience. Great service, standout dishes, and they handle feedback the right way. Sit on either side because it doesn't matter at all. Not much atmosphere but it's certainly not a fast food spot. I've never seen more than three tables occupied for lunch. They do take reservations! Absolutely nothing remarkable about the food. Get the "ensalada pollo" for a salad and you'll get some greens, doused in dressing, onions, some cherry tomatoes and tough chicken. It was fine. Staff are a bunch of kids. They do their best. If they forget you just go find them. They're around.
