Tried the steak sandwich after seeing it rated in the Top 25 sandwiches in Chicago Magazine. The sandwich was pretty good - definitely different. I'm not used to eating breaded steak with cheese and marinara sauce. Although, it didn't meet the expectations I had for it after reading the magazine, I would order it again! My wife had the mostaccioli, which came in a good sized portion - enough to feed her, our 3 year old, with some left over. She enjoyed it. We use to order their pizza at the Hinsdale location years ago, which is also pretty good. Overall, a solid place for take-out sandwiches, pastas, and dinner. Will definitely be back. read more

Called and preordered 2 pasta dinners yesterday. I was told 25 minutes. We got there at the exact time the order was to be ready. After I paid, I was told it would be a few minutes. OK, no problem. I stood in their small waiting area for over 5 minutes. I finally had to sit down due to my aching back. Another 5 minutes goes by. As I'm waiting, a second cashier asked me what I was waiting for. (The first cashier only checked once and then basically ignored me). After I told her, she went to check and said that again, it would be a few minutes. My reply was, "If an order won't be ready for 35 minutes, then tell people that on the phone. Don't say 25 minutes and make people wait here for over 10 minutes, especially in a pandemic!" Her answer to that was, " We tell everyone 25 minutes. It doesn't matter whether it's pizza or pasta even though pizza takes about 25 and pasta takes 35." Huh??? Are they robots who can't determine for themselves that if an order is for pizza, say 25 minutes and if an order is for pasta, say 35 minutes?! Well, eventually we got our order and drove the 2 minutes home. And we ate our COLD pasta dinners!! You would think that just maybe Rosati's would try to increase customer service a bit since another pizza restaurant is being built just down the street. read more

Pizza was 20 minutes later than estimated time, when called to ask how much longer the man on the phone said "any minute" and hung up on us. Was given bleu cheese when asked for ranch, pizza is cold, they gave us Italian salad dressing instead of parm garlic sauce for wings!?? delivery driver said he called twice like the delivery instructions said but yet we had no missed calls... then proceeded to tell us he did call as if this was up for argument and insisted it was our fault. I've read some of the reviews and frankly it surprises me. My husband picks up our order for lunch at times. The cheef beef is so delicious and their pizza is so good. One time I wanted a salad so I got the Greek salad with extra feta and it was delicious. Not one time have we been disappointed with their food. I'm not discounting other reviews, but we've never had a bad experience with their food. Always top quality. We don't live in the area, but my husband works close and he brings it sometimes for lunch. We love it! read more

My grandfather lived right down the street from Rosati's off 75th and I can remember eating there pizza back in the 80's. They don't have a terrible pizza, It's not bad but not the pizza they had back then. Don't get me wrong, they are way better than any other pizza place you will find anywhere in Darien or Westmont for that matter but not the same quality as it was back then. I've lived all around the US and Chicago is the place for pizza so anyone who has a pizza place here has a pretty high bar to reach. If they were down south they would be an easy 5 star. We have been loyal customers of Rosati's in Darien, IL for over 12 years. In the past 6 months they have goofed up our pizza order twice. The real issue I have Rosati's is I got an email from them recently for $20 off your next visit and it expires Thursday, June 27, 2019. I called yesterday (June 14, 2019) to place and order for pizza and a salad. I informed them of the coupon and was told it was an incorrect coupon and is only for pasta dinners. No where on the coupon does it state that. The gentleman asked me where I got the coupon, and I said it was in an email from them. Long story short they would not honor the coupon. This is extremely poor customer service after being a loyal customer of there's. I now understand why they get such poor reviews. We will never order from Rosati's again! read more

Family owned shop with a clear knowledge of how to make a good pie. Went in, was happily greeted by the workers, who then took the time to help me decide on my meal. Despite the fact they recommended I go with the NEWEST CLASS of pizza available, I chose to go with a lesser known option, which ended up being even better than I thought it would. The pizza is always pretty good but the employees frustrate me. After waiting 40 minutes, I stopped in to pickup my order and am told I have to wait another 15-20 minutes. I ask why and apparently they dropped the pizza. I asked if they can deliver the replacement since no one called to inform me of the delay. I was told I'd have to wait for the driver to return, whenever that would be. So I sit and wait for the pizza, no offer of a discount until I ask for a free appetizer. Terrible customer service. With so many options in the Chicago market you would think that these places would do everything they could to keep their customers. I had a gift card to use so I indulged and ordered a little extra than i normally would. When time came to pay they told me that they were a nonparticipating location that did not honor gift cards that were not purchased at their specific location. I used to be a loyal customer of this restaurant until tonight. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Waited for an order for over an hour, and it didn't show. When I called to see what was going on, the employee there said the order came in too fast and he did not get it. When I asked for his manager he said there was not one there tonight. If they're ought leaving the store in this guy's hands was a good idea, they might want to rethink their strategy. They do 50% off on Mondays and Tuesdays - you can't beat that! They also run a lot of really good coupons and promotions throughout the week. The two Italian guys who run the front counter are always so friendly - not to mention they're pretty easy on the eyes as well. At no point in the entire conversation did you ask for a new salad, if you did I would have absolutely no problem sending out a new one. We ordered from this Rosati's location for the first time last weekend and will not be ordering again. The pizza itself was good but ridiculously expensive. We got a large with 3 toppings (spinach, sausage, and garlic), a medium with pepperoni, a liter of Sierra Mist, and a Greek salad for carry out. The total was almost $65!!! Plus, after we paid, we noticed an extra fee on the bill and were told it was for processing. I get that businesses have to pay 3% usually for credit card charges and redistribute some of that cost to consumers, but come on- your extra toppings cost is already $3 each! I can say with certainty that there wasn't $3 of garlic on my pizza. It felt very shady and even the plaza is a little sketchy. With so many good, and cheaper, options in the area, we will not be getting pizza from here again. That was way too much for pizza. read more

Oh for heaven's sake. I work at Argonne and had to work through normal lunch hour. When I was finished with my task, the cafeteria was closed. (Oh don't get me started.) So I decided to venture off-campus and try Rosati's. When I got inside, the tv was on - never a good sign. I ordered a slice of veggie pizza. The clerk handed me a box from the warming oven. I opened the box, saw tomatoes, sprinkled it with peppers and sat down to eat. My first bite was full of sausage -- unusual on a veggie pizza. So I came back to the counter and said there had been a mistake. The clerk told me, "Oh, no, it wasn't a mistake. We just don't have veggie slices. This one has peppers on it, though, like the veggie." I asked if I could have a slice of plain cheese instead. "No, this was the only slice we have, so I gave it to you." I kind of expected my mom to appear and say, "What do you think this is, a restaurant?" She offered to prepare a mini-pizza, but I was in a hurry to get back to work. So I asked for a refund, which I received pretty quickly. (Hence the second star.) And incidentally -- the Buona Beef veggie sandwich is fairly decent. :) read more

I'm sorry but I am so unimpressed with rosatis. I first went there when I started working in the area and the pizza had no flavor so I vowed to never go there again. One day over a year later I thought I would give them another try and ordered a salad and tomato bread. Never again. I'm sorry but the guy at the counter looked hungover and unenthusiastic about his job. But all that aside the food was just so bland. My salad had wilted pieces and the tomato bread was literally a piece of bread partially toasted, tomatoes that were practically raw, and cheese. That's it. No olive oil, no garlic, no salt even. Rosati's always is consistently delicious and fresh. I ordered (for pickup) 2- 16 inch thin crust pizzas and a Greek salad. This is a great pizza, and I should know, having sampled many pizzas from New York to Chicago. These were made to perfection, using a really quality mozzarella, pepperoni and green peppers. The sauce has the blossom of a hint of wine. The Greek salad has a very savory feta, lots of olives and peppers without being loaded down with heavy oil. I have spent way more on terribly disappointing pizzas and am sticking with Rosati's. read more

Well I have ordered from here multiple times and today was the worst screw up yet. They have made a mistake on my pizza before and offered to buy 1 ingredient on my next one to make up for it. Dumb! This time I ordered a small pepperoni classic and received a small gluten free cheese. If you're going to pay a large amount for food then you should expect that the quality of the food should be very good but you instead get a pizza that is cold and missing toppings and when I call back I'm told that I'm lying about my receipt. Yet the receipt was handed to me and printed at the store and that really upset me because why would I lie about the receipt. read more
