Picked up pizza for dinner the other night. It was good...sausage and cheese...it just wasn't hot when I got it home,not their fault lol. It was good as usual. The cheese bread I didn't care for ( it was free for my birthday ) it had a funny taste to it so it went to the trash... if a 9yo won't even eat it, maybe it was the cheese that was on it...but it definitely wasn't his or my cup of tea. I recently went here again because of the great experience I had last time. Since coming here last time I have experienced many different beggars locations and for some reason, this locations pizza always won based on taste. The pizza I've had here in the past has tasted cheesier and fresher than other locations. With that being said I returned to try them out again. I came here on a Monday and discovered they actually have 25% off on Pizzas on Mondays and Tuesdays, which is pretty awesome! So we ordered wings as an appetizer and a small cheese pizza. The wings came out pretty quickly but it seems like it took the pizza a while to come out. Once the pizza finally arrived I dug in, I was hungry! The pizza, mostly the cheese tasted a bit different to me, I'm not sure why but it didn't taste as cheesy as it did before. I'm not sure if they are using different cheese now or what but it definitely tasted a bit different. So far I've ordered pizza, a beef sandwich, and a meatball sandwich. Everything was really good, the beef was packed and the mozzarella ontop was a nice touch, the marinara sauce on the meatball sandwich seemed thin and not as tomoatoy as expected, almost needed more sauce. Very easy accessible parking. Nice and clean on the inside (bathrooms were kept clean as well) one thing i took note in was how friendly and personable the staff were. We ordered a Godfather Italian Beef Sandwich with Sweet Peppers and melted cheese. I dont know how I continued to eat after finishing off this beast! One of the better Beef sandwiches around! Definitely larger than other places! We ordered a cheese thin crust and a spinach deep dish for the family. As I indicated before, the sauce is fantastic! I like my sauce a little on the sweet side and this is perfect! This is one of my top pizza places in my zipcode. For comparison I've had Lou's, Jets, Papa's, Als, Nancys, Tortorices, NY Style, and Rosatis. Beggars is now in my top 3! The service is fast, courteous and plenty of parking here at the Downers Grove location. I placed my order online and picked it up. I only had to wait 5 minutes as I got here a little earlier than my pickup time. I highly recommend this location and urge everyone to try Beggars out, especially if you like your sauce sweeter! So looked forward to this pizza. we ordered 2 kinds first stuffed sausage. I think a 2 year old put this pizza together. This pizza was a mess. The pizza separated from itself which doesn't make any sense at all. It seem to have two crust and never stayed together. The pizza itself tasted terrible. Cannot recommend. Second pizza was a cheese pizza. How do you mess this up. Well they did. We know they lay it on thick. Thick my backside. It was like chewing through a very tough steak. Not worth it. Sauce was ice cold? Crust was burnt beyond eating. Never again. I called to talk to a manger was placed on hold. 15 minutes later nothing.
