Very disappointed in the last few visits here. Employees are playing slots while there are customers or constantly walking by to check if you are on a machine. Even more disappointing is seeing the owner himself playing which I would think is a violation While food is good unfortunately we have seen bugs in there which is gross Bathrooms have no hot water to wash your hands so employees obviously are not getting their hands properly cleaned. After hearing about Zazzo's in the Fb Chicago tavern style pizza group, I had to check out this place. We went to the Darien location. I ordered cheesy breadsticks and 12" chicken alfredo pizza. I would give the breadsticks 5/5. The exterior was crispy and soft/cheesy on the inside. I loved that cheese pull when it's made fresh. The 12" is a great size, it could feed about 2 people. This one I would give a 4.5/5 because I would prefer a crunchier bite. Don't get me wrong, this was still a great pizza, but it has a more subtle, lighter crunch. There were plentiful amounts of chicken and bacon throughout the pizza. Our server was this older lady and she was very sweet. Prices were very reasonable for what you get. Like me some Zazzo's. Have dined in and carried out several times. I had to take a pizza to a party on Sunday evening it. Took twenty minutes make and everything was packed up for me; plates, parm, peppers, napkins. The half cheese half sausage was a hit. This is a go to in the neighborhood. I'm almost a sucker for a good tavern-style pizza. I've never been a fan of deep dish and I love the cracker-thin crust that's famous on the South Side of Chicago. I found this place on a whim while I was in town for work. It's pretty close to my hotel, so I ran over and grabbed a pizza to go. I got the 12-inch, and it was still way more than I could finish. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back. The folks working the to-go area were super nice and friendly, greeting me with a smile and thanking me when I left. Carry Out Review! Zazzo's continues to be one of my favorite thin crust pizzas in the Darien area! Before ordering, I signed up for their text promotions and got 20% off my order! The link to activate was very easy and staff had no problem redeeming it ahead of picking up. The staff member I spoke with on the phone was extremely nice and clear to hear. I ordered an 18" thin crust pizza with half sausage, half bacon and pineapple. The pizza was only going to take 30 minutes so I requested a designated pick up time for 6:30. Note that they do have a small uncharge for credit card use but let you know both totals over the phone. The pizza was perfectly cooked and not greasy. There was a good amount of toppings but not too much where the pizza crust flops. Love Zazzo's and will be back for more! We generally go here for takeout pizza and boasted chicken. If your a boasted chicken fan, you know how good it is. The pizza is thin crust and fairly covered with cheese and your ingredients. The restaurant is a casual sports-bar type setting. Very casual. Service is OK. read more

We came to Zazzo's Pizzeria & Bar in Darien to watch the Super Bowl, including the halftime show. Instead, the staff intentionally changed the channel during halftime and refused to play the scheduled NBC broadcast. When we asked why, we were told the halftime show was not being played because of Bad Bunny and his political views, specifically that he has spoken out against ICE and does not support Trump. It was also made clear that the decision reflected the preferences of others in the bar. As a result, we were flat-out refused the option to watch the halftime show. This turned what should have been a neutral, public Super Bowl viewing into an uncomfortable and exclusionary experience. A bar should not be choosing which nationally televised content guests are allowed to watch based on political beliefs. We spoke directly with the manager, who dismissed our concerns and told us it was "fine" if we wanted to leave a bad review. That response alone says everything about how customer concerns are handled here. This was poor customer service, poor judgment, and a very disappointing experience. There are many other places nearby that respect their customers and provide a welcoming atmosphere. We will not be returning. read more

Been here dozens of times, best pizza in the area... the VIP membership definitely pays off... draft beer selection is usually pretty meh but can usually find one or two that are drinkable... recommend 12" pizzas, they tend to cook better (usually get extra sauce and well done... Hawaiian hammer... pepperoni, jalapeño and pineapple, but sausage is always solid too), chop salad, arribiatta, coconut shrimp... stuffed sausage pizza is excellent! read more

Recently, I attended a small group event that was held at Zazzo's in Westmont, which was setup thru their Manager, Ely. It was a buffet style meal and since there was an enormous amount of leftovers, the host asked the waitress to box up the food, in order to have guests take it home. The waitress said she wasn't allowed to do that & the host of the event asked to speak to the Manager, which happened to be Ely. Ely said the contract stated all food had to be consumed on the premises. When asked what were the plans for the numerous leftovers, he said all would be thrown out. When the host stated she had to pay for all the food & why not get what she paid for, Ely refused. In all my experience in food service & working in various restaurants & catering venues, never have I heard of such a thing. Additionally, when the host paid by check, Ely said they don't accept checks & that was stated in the contract also. The host reviewed the contract & the mention of checks for payment could not be found. At that point, Ely was shaking his head & said-whatever. Ely's attitude and above actions turned an enjoyable event into a memorable ending, for the wrong reason. read more

A Super Bowl is made up of 1/2 of football, the halftime show, and a second 1/2 of football. Not according to Zazzo's in Darien. They decided to make the halftime political by changing the NBC planned halftime show to the All American Halftime Show. It's a small bar and pizza place, but by not playing Bad Bunny, who has spoken out against ICE and Trump, they chose to not respect the fact that this country is built from immigrants and also that people have the right to freedom of speech. We spoke to the manager who said it was not political and that "it was fine" if we wrote Zazzo's a bad review. So I am. I don't support ICE. I don't support Trump. If you do, by all means, keep eating here. There's a lot of better places to go to with better people though. Pick one of them. I'd give Zazzo's of Darien 0 stars if I could. read more

My son wanted to hit a spot that had deep dish pizza while we were here for WWE Survivor Series 2023. We got the Zazzo's Platter, which was wings, potato skins, and pretzels. The wings were mouthwatering. They were easily my favorite part of the whole experience. The Buffalo sauce wasn't spicy but it was still full of flavor. The wings held their crunch even after being sauced so I love that. My son loved the pizza. It was definitely one of my favorite sauces. The server was doing double duty as the server and the bartender. She was pleasant. The building is well lit and the signage is cute. The pictures in the inside are a vibe. My son said this will be his go to spot when he comes back to Chicago. read more

Food is excellent however I have never seen such a combination of weird choices on their TVs for a sports bar. We had to watch Corn Hole finals, Chevy Chase movies and the Big Bang Theory while the Knicks played the Pacers. Asking for a TV change is like asking for a kidney. read more

Why bother to sign up for notifications if you don't honor them? Zazzo's would have been our most favorite place for pizza. We have been here many times, and loved everything we ordered. I signed up for notifications, and finally decided to try one that came thru on my phone this morning. When I called to place the order, they did not seem to know what I was talking about. I was transferred to a manager, who was not aware of this supposed special, and he asked me to send a screen shot and said he would call me back. He did not. The notifications from Zazzo's do not show a date or time or an expiration date, but this one came thru a couple of hours before I called, so if it was an error, it would have been nice to call me back and let me know. I ordered our family Christmas catering order from Zazzo's this Sunday. The food was authentic Italian cuisine and everyone was extremely pleased!! Highly recommend using their catering for any family party's. I choked on parchment paper. I was polite about it and tried to push past but I was hoping for some sort of apology or something that would show me that they value their customer's experience more. I got $5 taken off my $55 order. That doesn't tell me they care much about the fact that I literally chocked on parchment paper that was left inside my stuffed pizza. Ordered $60+ in food requested delivery to Target explained I was a truck driver and parked in the back. After paying over the phone with my card some guy maybe manager rudely tell me his driver won't deliver to my truck in the back of target. When I met the driver inside the target they had security and target manager. Had a whole Scene just to get pizza I pre paid for. Pizza was dry hardly any sauce . The basil and diced tomato on lightly browned mozzarella with a touch of olive oil delivered on its name. This was the best tasting pizza in many years from this neighborhood pizzeria. Definitely not the quality that has been in the past. This use to be our favorite pizza. We have served it to others and they agree that the ingredients are dramatically decreased. The sauce is no longer the same with a strong white pepper taste. This occurred multiple times. Hopefully they can correct the issue in their kitchen or it won't be long until this business will be gone as well. I do hope they can improve. read more
