I went to rose dental having a confident feeling and high expectations for a routine cleaning. I went in and the dental assistant was super nice and was professional. Then she advised me with all new patients they discuss Invisalign. Which I was like okay but I'm literally here for a cleaning. Told me the process and was somewhat convinced. Then I did my cleaning the dentist said I had very good teeth and they can tell I take care of my teeth. I had one small cavity which I'm like okay got to get that done. Well me thinking they would tell me right away what my insurance covers and how much I'll be looking at. Nope it was 5pm already and my appointment was at 3. No way I should be in an office for a cleaning that long! Then the guy comes in to talk about pricing and advised me that under my insurance policy, fluoride isn't covered and I would have to pay out-of-pocket. I declined and said I don't need it then he continued on about pricing for Invisalign. In my head, shouldn't the cavity be first priority not Invisalign. I told him it's 5 and I need to go. He wanted me to set up an appointment to discuss Invisalign and fill pricing. Then that day came and he showed me pricing for my (fill) and remind you I have insurance and I spoke to them before I came in to the appointment so I knew the pricing and the coding. As well told him I was covered under my insurance policy for fluoride. He looked shocked and said"oh I have to look into that and maybe it's because insurance only covers it with certain age requirements" I proceed to tell him no I looked into it and I'm covered maybe he should look into that more. Then When proceed to discuss the pricing of the fill (cavity) I asked him those two extra charges that you're trying to charge me is that recommended or mandatory? He proceeded to tell me that everything that is charged was mandatory that I had to get done, what I seen on that paper was it was my 3rd visit! I only been there one time! One I asked him why does it say 3 visits he proceed to say oh we say one visit is for x-rays and second visit is for cleaning and third visit for consultation! In my head, definitely a red flag! I told him I would discuss this all with my insurance and proceeded to ask for the coding that they're billing me and will get back to him. He proceeded to let me know that he wanted to meet up with me to discuss the Invisalign and they had a third-party financing. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable anymore and knew something wasn't right so I left. I proceeded to call my insurance company, advising them the coding that they gave me and what should my cavity be and if it was fully covered or what I needed to pay. She then proceeded to look at the coding and called the dentist office right away because the two charges they were trying to charge me were not suppose to be added. When she spoke to them, they told her that one of the charges was the dentist saying she diagnosed me with something and I needed that certain procedure The other charge was just an up charge that was up to me to get. It was alarming to me since I asked him and he said everything was mandatory. So my recommendation on this place is very suspicious on the coding that they are giving the insurance company as well as you just so you could pay out-of-pocket. We all pay insurance to get things taken care of at a reasonable price and dentist offices like this should not be in service or under a microscope. I came to this dentist office with high expectations after speaking with Omar, the office manager. I explained to him that my issue with previous dentist is they always try to upsell you and never want to honor the pre-negotiated fees that my insurance company says I should pay. Omar assured me that Rose Dental is an honest dentist office and they will not try to up-sell you and will honor the negotiated fees set by Deltal Care, my insurance company. Unfortunately, that was not true. I needed a crown replaced and my fee according to Delta Dental should have been $317 plus $35 for post and core. Rose dental wanted to charge me $810. When I questioned the high fee Omar told me that the added cost was for a lab fee of $325, (although they advertise that they do the crowns in-house) and a gingivectomy access restoration fee of $133. Obviously, these were all up-sell fees which Omar promised they wouldn't charge. I disputed the up-sell fees and asked him to submit the fees for a pre-authorization to Deltal Dental. Omar tried to talk me out of submitting the pre-approval claiming that by doing so the insurance company would take over a month to approve and I needed the crown replaced right away. I told him to go ahead and submit them anyway. I waited a week and when I didn't hear back I called Rose dental and they told me the preauthorization was never sent. I asked them again to submit them and they promised to do so. I waited another week and they still didn't submit them. They just kept giving excuses. They knew that my insurance company would never agree to pay $810. Thay also wanted to charge me $1,332 for another crown which included a $455 laser periodontal therapy fee. That's another up-sell fee... Needless to say I filed a grievance against them with Delta Care and Kaiser and will also file a complaint with the Dental Board of California. (DBC) ........ Does the idea of going to the dentist give you anxiety? Well if it does I'm recommending you check out Rose Dental in Oxnard. Starting with the staff in the front everyone is so friendly, and they show you such compassion. The dental assistants will do their best to make sure you are comfortable and they have such a calming demeanor. With previous traumatic experiences with other local dentist I really appreciate Dr. Gabriel and her team. For easing my anxiety before my procedure, and making sure I had my medication ready before I even left the office. They demonstrating how a patient can be cared for by a dentist without fear of pain or judgement. I want to also mention that the office is beautiful. read more

I had my wisdom teeth removed in 2023 and apparently my insurance didn't pay what they expected and instead of letting me know as soon as they billed my insurance they waited over a year to tell me! Got my wisdom teeth taken out June 2023 they billed my insurance July 2023 and rose dental decided to tell me I owe them $600 dollar January 2025! They also proceeded to say I only have 60 days to pay! The girl over the phone said they have been getting multiple calls about the same thing meaning that they are not or were not doing their job! TERRIBLE customer service. The lady Stephanie who works at the front desk would literally pickup attitude and argue WITH ME (of course i argued back) about the time i missed my appointment or cancelled my appointment. Like Im the one who has to deal with the cancellation fee so why is it such an issue with her. Not only that but the care cordinator (Jose i think?) would also give me attitude when I cancelled weeks in advance. That lady stephanie also charged me charges I shouldn't have receieved and I tried to argue it BUT shes literally in charge of the administrative tasks, so I could not dispute the charge, so my cleaning that was estimated to be $300ish was like $700. Having a lady in charge who is willing to pickup unnecessary attitude is literally the worst thing they could do. Don't let the decent exterior of the building fool you. This place is "ok" but I definitely feel they lack in some key areas. First, the receptionists aren't very apt to greet you when you walk in as they're usually on the phone or busy scheduling an appt for their current patient. They'll just look at you and be reluctant to say "hello," smile, or even give a hand gesture recognizing your presence. Rude. Also, when you ask them anything about billing or finances they give you some hoopla about your insurance not covering this or that and you must pay X amount. Second, you can tell the dental assistants are just that- assistants. They have no professional capacity to be working in a dental office and are at best, interns learning the trade. During one occasion, an assistant was tasked with simply removing my front tooth crown and ended up grasping it too tight and shattered it in the process with shards of the remains falling in my mouth. I'm surprised I didn't choke on one of the shards and die on the spot. Third, and probably the most annoying of all is that they're more than likely going to cancel, reschedule, or not even show to your appointment. I've experienced all three during the very short time span that I've been receiving services here. I don't know what was more annoying; taking time off work or showing up only to find out the dentist had left for the day- WTF. The only positive I can report out of all this is that Dr. Posha is the most straight up dentist you will find. Prior to Rose Dental Group, I had gone to Western Dental in Oxnard. What made me change was the poor customer service and disheveled appearance of the Western Dental. I had originally scheduled an appointment for my wisdom teeth extraction there but after becoming so frustrated with their corporate offices and the Oxnard location itself, I decided I needed to get oral surgery elsewhere. In order to get the referral without any problem from Western Dental, I just told them that I was going to another office due to scheduling reasons. Given that I travel a lot for work, this wasn't a total lie. Anyhow, I called Rose Dental group the Wednesday before my desired Monday appointment date. They were booked up but Rebecca said she would fit me in if there were any cancellations. Fortunately, the next day, she called me with a cancellation. Rebecca was always so friendly, straight to the point, provided pertinent pre-op information and answered all my questions. What a breath of fresh air it was to talk with her, especially as compared with the morons at Western Dental. What made my experience with Rose Dental group even more impressive is that they e-mailed me all necessary information before my appointment. This saved me time at the dental office before my appointment as well as provided some comfort before my extraction in knowing they were professional and organized. I arrived at my appointment about 20 minutes early, at 10:40 am. Rebecca processed my remaining paperwork immediately and took a pano x-ray. At about 11:15am they initiated the pre-op procedures. I think I was waiting in the chair for another 20 minutes before the oral surgeon, Shahram Mashhadian, kindly gave me what he liked to call a "nice cocktail". He inquired about the service I had received up to the procedure despite him only being a contract oral surgeon at that site. While I did have to wait around some, it didn't bother me because I was always given accurate waiting times. This isn't a perfect world so I understand there can be other surgeries that go over time. Before I knew it, the assistant was helping me into a wheel chair and filling my boyfriend and DD on the post op instructions, which were also provided on paper. Today, the day after surgery, I am still taking some pain meds but generally feel fine. Actually, I am pleasantly surprised at how well I'm doing considering how nervous I was to get the procedure. Also, Rebecca called me to check in and to schedule a follow up appointment. I will now return to Rose Dental Group for all my dental needs as I'm extremely impressed by their quality of customer service - maybe this is just because of the extremely poor comparative experience at Western Dental. read more

I absolutely love this place! My hygienist Jessica is always so gentle and amazing! The staff is super cool and they keep up on my appointments via text messages so I never forget. They give me free toothbrush and toothpaste and take their time with me during my appointment I never feel rushed. I had scheduled a appointment months in advance before the coronavirus to do a cleaning and routine check up. I went in today and was told that I would have to pay full price for the cleaning and they would give me forms to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement. My "insurance provider" told there "secretary" that she had never herd of being charged $ upfront for services when I was already covered for it by my insurance because the type of insurance I have covers my cleaning and check ups, the "secretary" said in that office I would need to pay cash for the services I need, even thou I have a PPO plan with $0 co pay and they are on my list of dentist who take my insurance. Very disappointed with the way they're customer service and lack of effort. I felt like I was being denied services and the lack of compassion and communication was terrible. I couldn't argue with the way they choose to run there office but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE I KNOW TO THIS OFFICE based on these issues read more

UPDATE: Went to have my wisdom tooth out by the independent contractor oral surgeon and the customer service was less than desireable. I had to get a sitter for my kids, my husband had to take off work, and we were told up front when we checked in that my 9am surgery wouldn't start until at least 10 because they were "short-staffed". Fine. It happens. Afterwards, my husband tells me, we were given the bum's rush out of the office. I wouldn't know as I was still heavily drugged and was quickly put into a wheelchair after barely waking up. The routine service here is great. The receptionists are friendly and helpful, the dentists are nice, knowledgeable, and efficient. Do go to see them. Don't go for the oral surgeon if you can help it. read more

I look forward to coming to this dentist. Read that again, I'll wait. First off, I am unemployed. Getting dental and medical help is not always easy. I've been passing by this office for the past few years, enticed by its promise of a $60 all-inclusive cleaning. That's X-rays, consultation with the dentist and payment plan person, cleaning, the whole deal. I kept putting it off, because of anxiety - I hadn't been to the dentist in 7 years, and I didn't take very good care of my teeth during that time. And then fate intervened, and I broke off a piece of a filling in my mouth. I called Rose Dental and they were able to bring me in that day. I was able to fill out all of my information online, and I could even add my husband and all his information to my account. Seriously, when we went back to make an appointment for him, they already knew his name and dental history, no writing it all down on a clipboard in the waiting room. Going in, I'm so nervous, but right off the bat, everyone is super nice. I got in at just about my scheduled time, and my x-rays were done by a very competent and actually entertaining assistant. She told stories and kept me informed about everything she was doing. After that, I went in to see the dentist, Dr. Adcox. I tell him I'm nervous, and he goes out of his way to reassure me, to make sure I'm calm and relaxed. He tells stories about his family, asks me about mine, and we chat a little bit about what to expect and what he'll be doing. He does a full examination of my throat and lymph nodes, checks for TMJ problems, and then inspects my teeth for problems outside of the chipped filling, and explains a lot of the dental jargon that he and his assistant use just shortly after they speak. Since it had been so long since I'd seen the dentist, they needed to do the cleaning on another day, by a specialist. To my knowledge, I wasn't even charged for the x-rays and consultation. After Dr. Adcox finished up, he brought in the payment person, which was terrifying, because I have no insurance, and while I have plenty to live on, don't have a lot for emergencies. Their first quote to me was more than I could afford, so they worked with me, for as long as I needed, without having to rush me out the door because I couldn't afford the whole thing at once. Much to my surprise (and delight!), she was able to get me on a monthly plan at a reduced cost. It was a miracle to me. It's one of the reasons I'm writing this review, because they're changing my life. Every time I have been there since has been a wonderful experience. My husband is going to see them, and my mom is also switching to Rose Dental. They are ALWAYS friendly and helpful, and if you're afraid of pain, or the cost, or anything at all, don't worry. Been going there for a few year now now problem, when in today for a cleaning , they now have a new guy, did not even introduce himself, very short guy with big attitude ( why alway little guys have big attitudes) Literally through me out of the office because I did not want X rays after I told him I just ate breakfast and x rays gag me. Beware, this is the WORST dental practice I have ever encountered. The front desk staff is unfriendly and inattentive. The first time I went there, the wait time was so ridiculous, I almost walked out (oh how I wish I had). To add to that, the main dentist seemed arrogant and I didn't feel taken care of at all. Considering that most people are not happy about going to the dentist, a little bedside manner goes a long way. You do not get that at Rose during any step of the process. All of this would be sort of okay if they weren't incompetent technicians as well. Let me tell you a story. About 3 years ago I fell on my face and cracked two existing crowns (that's another story involving a dog, a leash and a cat). Because Rose Dental offered a program where they made the crowns in-house, saving the temp. crown creation and second trip for the actual crown, I thought, great let's do that! Cost - $2,000. My appointment started at 6am. They took a full set of digital X-rays and sat me down for molds, etc. The dentist prepped the crown cores. That was uneventful and not too painful as I can recall. The team that made the crowns consisted of a young lady and a young man, and they seemed fairly green - I wasn't at all confident that they knew what they were doing. They took molds of the cores and then I waited for a loooooong time. By the time the crowns came, it was about 9am. They fit the crowns and, it's been so long that I can't remember exactly but what I can remember is that I left at almost noon. In between there was a lot of crown-fitting, and they took at least 30 digital X-rays of my mouth. They kept taking me back into the X-ray room for more photos. Maybe because they knew the crowns weren't fitting correctly? What I ended up with was two crowns that had large gaps in between my other teeth and them. Food got caught between the crown and tooth areas every time I ate and began to affect the gums and bone density surrounding the teeth. Not to mention it was extremely uncomfortable. A year later, I had to go to another dentist and get both crowns replaced (for an additional $2,000). This new dentist is amazing and now the gaps between my teeth are gone and my gums/bones aren't degrading, so It was worth it. I've thought about taking Rose to small claims court to get my $2,000 dollars back, but I wouldn't know where to start. All I can do is just suck it up as an extremely bad experience and send a word of warning to all you yelpers out there. I STILL have receding gums along one of the botched crowns, due to food getting into the gap and migrating down along the gum line. I tell you, I am fanatical about flossing every day and brushing 2Xs+/ day - this is the only problem I have with my mouth and it might not ever be right again because of Rose. Oh, and my new dentist office (which is excellent) the hygienist taking digital X-rays said, "I want to take as few images as possible to limit you from the radiation exposure". OMG, the radiation exposure I was given that day at Rose - yikes!!! Potential patients, you've been warned. Do. Not. Go. Here. Ever. read more

This office is horrible. The office staff are rude, the assistants have no professionalism at all and are also often rude as well. It's like all they have are newbie graduates that have no understanding of how to treat or talk to people at all. They cancel visits last minute and they change your appointment time last minute. The actual dentists are good but beyond that dealing with all their other horribleness it's not worth going there. I went there for a routine check up and cleaning. Two hours after the time of my appointment, I found myself still waiting for my cleaning. I ended up waking out since I found it ridiculous that in the two hours I had been there, I was still waiting for my cleaning. I spent 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting around for them to complete a routine check up and cleaning. Needless to say, I do not plan on ever returning and therefore do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

If you ever have a oral surgery scheduled here make sure it's not with dr David Mashhadian. My poor mother made the mistake of doing so, he is a complete JERK. Insensitive, and disrespectful. While he was working on her teeth he told my mother to stop crying and let him finish! Obviously my mother was still in pain, or she wouldn't have been crying. he told her that it "doesn't even hurt that bad" while she's crying her eyes out from pain. I advise all of you to avoid this guy if you don't want a jerk off doing your surgery. My mother wanted me to review this review as she has nothing against this office, she actually loves it here. While I'm very disappointed in the customer service received at the front, the care my son received was very pleasant. I really appreciated how Dr. Dori definitively explained the X-rays and procedures to him. He really enjoyed that too. He excels in math and science. Unfortunately, we'll have someone else complete what Dr. Dori couldn't finish. I feel very sorry for the group invested in this business. While I do understand that patient care takes a backseat to returns, I do not understand how the hired help doesn't manage time well enough to schedule and maintain an appointment calendar. If I'm notified 4-5 hours prior to my scheduled appointment that you'd like to cancel and reschedule, I'll move a few things around to oblige. But when you do it to me three times within a month, I'm taking my business to Camarillo or Ventura where the professionals are. Shoulda done it in the first place. But noooooo! I wanted to support local establishments and see my community's economy prosper. My very last experience with Rose Dental was when I showed up today with my son for an appointment and the receptionist told me how she'd tried to contact me just a few hours prior to reschedule. Was the phone number I'd provided a good number and such? After I told her how this was the third time sure, she was apologetic and went through the perfunctory motions. But when I declined a reschedule and announced my decision to take my business elsewhere, the shoulder shrug and "OK" she gave me was abominable. May as well have been, "I'm still getting paid/we don't need your business anyway." My advice to Rose Dental is to obtain and partner as many practitioners as you can before the show's over. If too many unsatisfied customers start complaining to their dental insurance groups, life won't be as pleasant. Those state of the art machines don't come cheap. May as well get ahold of a few mature receptionists while you're at it. They may not come cheap either but they'll maintain your current customer base better than the chicks you have now. My advice to those who're still willing to give Rose a try is hold what you've got until they grow up and learn how to run a real business. read more

The staff is amazing, on the phone and in person! The receptionists always warmly greet you and make sure to help you with everything you need. The staff makes you feel as comfortable as possible and are very attentive to your needs every step of the way. I made an appointment over the phone and they let you know what you need to be in and out on your first visit. They were very accommodating when I was trying to find a time that worked with my schedule. While in the chair, the staff is very aware of your comfort status and pays close attention to ensure you are feeling too much discomfort during a procedure. They give you a detailed estimate of work you need and alternates for less expensive procedures. I have never been to a better office. read more

Horrible experience there. I was referred there to see the endodontist. When I walked in there were three females at the counter. No one even acknowledged me so I signed in and had a seat. 30 mins later I was told I did not have an appt. even though I had an appt card. Told to have a seat and they would check on it. 30 mins later (now 1 hour later) I was taken back to an exam room where a girl with a portable x-ray machine attempted over and over again to take an x-ray. Probably have radiation poisoning from it. Then after another 20 minutes in the chair, I asked when the Dr. would see me. After a few more minutes, in comes the dr. who was grumbling about having a busy schedule. Needless to say I will not be back and would not recommend it to anyone. I can't believe any of these negative posts... I have been going to Rose Dental for a couple of years now and have always had a great experience. The last Doctor I just had was a very good Doctor and she took care of my needs... she wasn't just in there to work on my teeth. She asked about me, my work, my kids, and wife.
