I've been seeing dr. Rose for acne related concerns for some time now. I am a 30 year old woman with hormonal acne. She is professional in her work with a gentle demeanor. She really practices what she preaches, I have never felt intimidated by her or her staff when she has presented treatment options that I could not afford. She has never made me feel less than for declining a service outside of what my insurance can cover. Through her I was able to address other health concerns, like PCOS. She has motivated me to carry a different lifestyle to address my issues from a different lens. I appreciate her taking the time to educate me about ways to treat my concerns. I went two years ago for a basic skin screening and I asked her what she recommends as a basic skincare routine and she never really answered the question. She was vague and indicated that she likes the products that she sells out in the lobby (surprise, surprise). I was looking more for what ingredients to avoid, what my skin might respond to best, what products or brands that she can recommend that I can pick up when out and about running errands. She is very brief, abrupt, and pushy when it comes to selling what she provides directly to patients. The office is very well organized and I was able to book an appointment super easily with ZocDoc and the administrative staff is efficient and knows how to manage paperwork filled through the app so that you arrive without having to re-do the whole thing which is great! I've noticed that there is a common thing among dermatologist in particular that they have their assistant do the actual appointment (chat with you, figure out the concerns, look at any areas of concern) and the doc comes in to verify all the notes are accurate and they pretty much have their suggestions in mind. I'm not sure if this is just me but I feel so weird being prescribed anything (even if its just ointment) without any sort of testing. I'm still looking for a doctor who can properly address my particular concerns instead of pushing products on me and saying "if it doesn't work- come back we'll try something else". I'm looking for someone to be much thorough and give me a full scope of information. I aim to address the root of the issues and I didn't feel like I got that here. The appointment was fast and ineffective. I would pass if you are looking for a doctor that is more vested in their patients. read more

I was recommend to Dr. Rose by my best friend...my first visit is my first and last visit, unfortunately. She talks in medical term (which is as good as speaking to me in Chinese) and talks very fast. I understood nothing she said. Also, what really turned me off was my visit lasted a whole 5 minutes and for that 5 minutes I was offered at least 10 different procedures/services that would help my issue but not even a quarter of one of those services was covered by insurance (and they were very expensive) ....the upselling game going on here is really a turn off! I do not reccomend this doctor. She, as someone mentioned, has a fake "sweet" demeanor and I sadly have to agree! I'm great at reading people and I got that vibe the second I walked in and my husband who joined me on my visit agreed! We walked out of there like "what a waste of time and money"! Super disappointed with this office. On my first visit, I explained I really wanted a cyst removed, but the doctor wanted to inject it with something first. I knew it wasn't going to work, but ok, I let it happen, even though I explained many times that I ultimately wanted it removed. Went back a second time because it didn't make an impact and the cyst was the same. On my second visit, I stated again that I wanted it removed but she pushed to inject it again. I let this happen. Whatever they injected it with, did absolutely nothing and was just a complete waste of money and time. I became very frustrated and felt that they were just trying to collect money from me so I went elsewhere. The dermatologist I wound up going to was great and removed my cyst on my initial visit. I don't like writing bad reviews but felt that this office didn't listen to me from the beginning. I'm now updating my review from 6 months ago. I just got a COLLECTION notice in the mail from this place...what a joke. I never got a bill for the TINY amount of money they sent me to collections for (I did move but had my mail forwarded but obviously the one single bill they may have sent me clearly didn't make it in my hands). You'd think they would have made several attempts or made a phone call but nope, apparently a single bill (I would like to believe that by law that couldn't send me to collections without some kind of record of sending me a bill so I'm nicely giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking their single attempt was lost in the mail, but seriously what are the odds multiple attempts failed. Come on.) I paid the measly amount...I guess they weren't happy they didn't get that third visit out of me and decided to make me pay for it anyway. Lol unbelievable. read more

I've been to this office several times before to have different procedures done. They are always completely professional, see you in a timely fashion explain everything thoroughly and have a great aesthetic eye. Today I had the most remarkable procedure I have ever had done! It was a TruSculpt fat busting treatment to eliminate stubborn spots that exercise doesn't target. It's nonsurgical, there is zero to downtime, and it's completely painless. Because it's spring, and I'm not gonna let this pandemic lock me down another summer, I backed this treatment up with a TruFlex session. It's like spending a few months in the gym doing crunches while you're laying in an office scrolling through your phone. This is not cool sculpting it is really safe and very effective. Everyone in the office is very attentive they never leave you alone they explain everything as it's happening and your comfort is the most important thing during the session. They keep making adjustments in order to maximize your benefits and minimize any discomfort. That being said it basically feels like a warm stone massage for the fat busting and a tingly tens treatment for the flex session. Really relaxing, permanent results and totally beats the gym. Terrible practice. I would not recommend. Dr. Rose pretends to be sweet and personable to make up for the fact that she is not skilled at her profession. I came in for a few troublesome marks and she suggested a photo facial. I did my research and it seemed worth a try. I showed her my trouble spots and also pointed out 2 freckles I loved and not to mess with them. I said it at least 6 times before and during the treatment. Well my 2 beautiful freckles are gone and the rest of my marks are still there. So it's either lack of skill or a lack of concern for her patient's needs. Follow up- Against all my shyness I went to the follow up appt and told her I was unhappy. Her fake sweet demeanor changed in a second. She was combative, raised her voice and belittled me because I could not see her fake results. She told me to sit in the sun to get my freckles back. Good advice from a dermatologist. Then she tried to take my picture with a filter on her phone to show the wonderful results? Horrible doctor. Horrible practice. Also their time is more valuable than yours- I have never waited less than a half for an appt. The front desk staff is so rude and seems bothered by having to do their jobs. read more

Dermatologist and assistant are great. Their staff is not. After CONFIRMING the cost of my appointment, since they claimed my insurance provider deductible requirement was not met ... I paid the cost I was told, $200 at the office for a 10 minute routine appointment. A month later there's a Surprise ADDITIONAL 90 dollar bill at my home. In addition - they DO charge my insurance company another $200+ as well - lastly, the staff still harasses me to this day for the $90(1 year later), even after speaking to them several times on the phone and explaining how I paid for the services upfront. Please confirm the price you expect to pay and get it in writing or they will harass you and are unwilling to resolve issues. Don't get comfortable and forget this - I was going to this dermatologist for nearly 2 years when their staff pulled this ridiculousness. read more

I am not sure if this is always how it is, but I called yesterday and got an appt today, AMAZING. The office is clean and new with a super friendly reception desk. As a new patient, I was checked in with my insurance paperwork filled out in about 5 minutes. After reading half of a pamphlet on a skin peel, the nurse introduced herself and led me to the exam room. The nurse asked me a few questions on why I was there and told me she would leave for a minute to brief the Dr. and PA. Three minutes later the nurse, PA, and Dr. were all in the room. They were all super friendly, nice, asked detailed questions, gave great suggestions. Dr. Rose wrote me some prescriptions, I paid and was out the door. Best experience ever, now lets hope my skin clears :) read more

Nicest Dermatologist! I've been to sooooo many dermatologists over the years for my chronic acne. Dr. Rose is the NICEST and most attentive doctor for skin that I've been to. Amazing bedside manner (esp for dermatology). Dermatologists are known for being not the nicest or attentive but Dr. Rose was the complete opposite. I went in for a Jessner chemical peel for hyperpigmentation and acne scarring. I've never gotten a peel before so she went through the whole process and spoke to me about the different levels and what would work best for me. She even recommended follow-up procedures (Silk Peel and Dermapen) to best suit my needs. She didn't push any products or push any procedures. We even spoke about Botox to my forehead since I started getting some superficial fine lines due to picking my acne but she said I was too young and didn't need it lol The nurses were also extremely nice and attentive. A nurse spoke to me before Dr. Rose came and then another nurse applied sunscreen on my face after the chemical peel and told me how to follow-up with the peel. Such a nice office, I would gladly be coming back here in the near future. read more

It turns out I'm one of those people who fall into those exceptions and Dr. Rose helped me find the right diagnosis, when other dermatologists couldn't, for my skin. She patiently worked with me to find the best treatments and options for my skin type. Since I've starting seeing her, my skin has improved drastically. I've also started seeing Martha at the medspa and she's a sweetheart who's very knowledgeable about the latest laser treatments. I had a good experience here. I'm always nervous trying new doctors in NY -- in general a lot more people (compared to where I used to live), and I worry about long wait times, rushed doctor's visits, etc. However I was pleasantly surprised here. There was barely anyone else in the waiting area. Maybe one or two people, but they were soon called away. I filled out some paperwork, gave my insurance card, paid the co-pay, and about 15, maybe 20 minutes maxed I was waiting in the room discussing issues with a nurse. Minutes after that convo, the doctor herself walked in. Very friendly and pleasant. Instantly you feel at ease. She's quick and efficient, and I know that's one of the reasons how she is able to keep to her schedule so well, but it's best to know exactly what you want to discuss and have questions prepared. Otherwise, it's easy to forget when the doctor can't sit with you all day long. She gave me my injections and a prescription for a face cream to help with acne scarring. Normally the prescription can be very expensive but she gave me a special pharmacy that would do it either for free or cheap. Hey, I appreciate that little heads up. Definitely coming back again for my follow-up or just for a general check-up. Really nice staff/front desk. Super easy booking through zoc doc. Has plenty of appts, but then they fill up fast! A bit of a trek from the train station, but that's the only downside. read more

UPDATE: The fastest way to reach them was by writing a bad review on Yelp. The doctor herself reached out personally on a weekday evening, asking for more info. About 12 hours later, after looking into my situation, she called me with an apology and explanation. 1) she had no answer for why I wasn't booked for full body; said there was a bad front desk person who has since been let go, maybe it was her. 2) My bill was listed as a much higher level than it should have been, which was a mistake from her office and I received an apology. 3) the insurance billed me as out of network. I actually owed $0. So, triple bad luck for me. Rose was very helpful and cleared everything up. She did NOT request that I update my review. I volunteered to as long as I didn't see any more bills coming my way. ------------------------ Booked through Zoc Doc specifically requesting "full yearly check up". I go in, we talk maybe 8 minutes, and I'm sent on my way in a rush. $45 copay. I ask the receptionist why I didn't get a full body exam and the answer was "Zoc Doc only books 15 min appointments which isn't enough time so you have to come back". Yes, come back and owe another $45. I wasn't offered a 30 min slot on Zoc Doc site. No notice that is didn't include the full body exam. Well, don't you think this could have been a great opportunity for them to call me BEFOREand say "hey, I see you want a full yearly check up. Should I put you down for a 30 minute slot instead so you don't have to come twice?" But no, why would they be helpful? Then I get a bill for $377. It says "office visit est 40 minutes". Oh, absolutely not. Like I said, 8 minutes maximum, rushed out the door, no full body exam. And I owe $377? So, it's a huge mistake or a scam. Fun times. I'm waiting to hear back from the billing person. read more

Then I took my daughter, we had been to 3 dermalologists..for her acne ...They took down the long history of treatment...and suggested we do Accutane..we had tried everything else, and didn't work... (I hate giving bad reviews, but this was unbelievable.). Years ago, I saw Dr. Paraskevos and was very impressed. So, when I encountered some skin issues, I immediately thought of her. Well, what a difference in the practice!!! First, I didn't get to see the Dr., but a PA. Though friendly, all the PA did was refer me to the front office which proceeded to try and sell me $400+ worth of products. (Oh, they also gave me a prescription saying if my insurance didn't cover the prescription, they had a product. The drug store gave me an over-the-counter alternative for less than $20.00) I couldn't get a prescription for what I wanted because "they sell something just as good." This was repeated about 10 times. This is a BUSINESS not a medical office. read more

I have to state that I have been to many dermatologist for my psoriasis and it becomes difficult to find one that actually just wants to work with you instead of giving you shots and moving you on. Dr. Rose, is kind, respectful and makes you feel like a human being not a number on a chart. My psoriasis has crept into my scalp making it bleed and very painful at times. Dr. Rose walked me through all my options, told me what type of psoriasis i had and asked if I had any questions and concerns. This is what a doctor should be, but sadly is very rare that is why Dr. Rose is gold. The office staff is very friendly, clean, but they could use better seating but that is not a biggie. Also, parking can be difficult but not too bad. Lastly, one tip is to go to the website and fill out the information so you don't have to wait as long and I heard there is problems with the insurance company HIP but that might change after the new year. I woke up nervous about a reaction on my face, and called Rose Derm up and they managed to squeeze me in on the same day! They were super friendly over the phone, didn't put me on hold, and answered almost immediately. When I walked in they greeted me with smiles and explained to me what I needed to do in order to be seen. I was in the waiting room (just to do paperwork) and the music playlist was amazing. I felt like I should be on rooftop with a martini in my hand. Dafna, the Physician Assistant, was super friendly, and explained everything so well to me. The prescription they gave me was ready at my pharmacy in a couple of hours and my skin cleared up in a couple of days!
