If I could give zero stars I would…read more I was talking with this photographer for a month, trying to find a date to do Mother's Day photos. We finally confirmed a date for May 2nd, and she emailed saying that "in order to secure the date, I need to send a deposit of $500.00." I asked to have a phone call before I just Zelle money to a random person, but she said she doesn't take phone calls from clients because she's too busy. She then said there is someone else wanting May 2nd and for me to hurry with the deposit. So I went ahead with good faith and Zelle'd her $500.00 on Friday. She sent me her contract Friday night, which was Passover, so we were busy with the family holiday and didn't get a chance to fully review the contract until Sunday morning. Which at that point, she emailed me saying that May 2nd is no longer available, and the contract had been canceled. I sent the deposit with the confirmation that it was to secure the May 2nd date. There's no other date that works for my family, so I asked for a refund since she can no longer honor the agreed date. At first, she said no, her policy is no refunds on deposits. She then said, okay, she will refund me but it will take 3 business days. And now she is completely refusing to refund us, and stopped all communication, and said she's reporting us to her bank as fraud! Like, are you kidding me! She blatantly stole money from us! It's clear this lady is a professional scam artist and does this shady stuff often. I should have known when she refused to speak with me on the phone. Red flag! We honestly don't know what to do, or how to get our money back. As a client I would beware of this lady! It's so sad how dishonest some people are. I believe in Karma and I know karma will do its job with this lady!

Finding a photographer for a surprise proposal is daunting enough. With her knowledge of the area, she was able to add in a few helpful tips on how to make the day even more magical, from proposal tips to info about the location I planned on. But let's talk about what you really want to hear about: the photos. After the butterflies and excitement of a proposal, my fiancée and I were so nervous that we didn't know how to take photos afterwards. Mary got us distracted -- encouraging me to talk about how I asked for her parents blessing -- and shot some amazing photos.
