We had lunch here today on our way back from the movies. We have been to their San Jose location many times including last week. This was our first time eating at the Sunnyvale location. We were welcomed when we walked in. You place your order at the register and then they bring your food out to you. I got the souvlaki plate with one chicken skewer and one beef skewer and Greek salad for my side. My husband got the souvlaki plate with three chicken skewers and a side of green salad. We also ordered some spanakopita to share. Our food arrived quickly. The beef was my favorite out of the two meats I chose. The chicken was a good but not as juicy and tender as the beef. The Greek salad was good and plentiful. My husband loved his chicken skewers and green salad. The spanakopita was delicious. We both enjoyed it. They have a nice patio for outdoor seating. The owners are from Greece and promise to bring the most authentic and delicious Greek food in a casual and family-friendly environment. The Good: * Parking lot * Fast-casual order at the counter and they bring the food out to you, which is my favorite for lunchtime. * Friendly service * Bottled Beer and fermented grapes * Reasonable pricing * Moussaka was spot-on and delicious. For the uninitiated, it's basically a Greek lasagna, but instead of noodles they use delicious baked eggplant and a rich béchamel sauce to cover them and ground beef. It's my favorite Greek dish, and theirs is one of the best. * Chicken skewer was still moist despite being white meat. The Meh: * Horataki Salads are delicious, albeit maybe a touch too oily. Maybe try asking for SoS (Sauce on Side) if your stomach gets a little upset by too much oil. The Ugly: * Some of the seating in here needs replacing; I sat on one of their benches and I swear I got violated by a spring. 0_o Conclusion: Delicious Greek food for a fair price. The employees are very kind and the ambiance is pretty good because you can sit outside! However, the food itself is pretty average. I've gotten DoorDash from this place and have also gone in person. I was underwhelmed in both cases. In person: I got the falafel bowl and found that it had a looooot of filler ingredients like rice and salad. My partner got the wrap and was a huge fan of the pita. The falafel itself was pretty good, so I told myself that next time I would get the falafel wrap instead of the bowl Doordash: As promised, I got the falafel wrap as a combo and added olives (an extra $3 because #treatyoself). I was again underwhelmed. Maybe because it was delivery, the wrap itself was not that good. I also had greek fries with the order and they were pretty plain and not very tasty - although they did come with a generous helping of feta! I wished that the olives were included with the wrap because I felt like the wrap was kinda plain tasting. Takeaway: I would definitely recommend to go in person and not get takeout so you can enjoy the fresh experience. I would also not recommend the greek fries. The next step for me is to get a falafel wrap in person! As a vegetarian, I don't think this place did much for me, but my partner seems to enjoy the meat a lot. read more

When you step inside, you order at the counter with someone, and if you're dining in, you choose a table. The restaurant is pretty spacious with plenty of tables, as well as tables in their outdoor patio area. Every time that I've visited for dinner, there's been no issue snagging a table. My go-to is the chicken souvlaki, which comes in a wrap with skewered chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and fries. Everything is seasoned well and is piping hot, but I'd say the star of the show is the yellow sauce in the wrap. It adds really good flavor and rounds it all out. Parking is easy in the lot attached. I love the sauce they put on the gyro, and the salad is very large, definitely enough to have leftovers. Make sure to get their spicy feta dip too. It's especially good when you get it to eat there because it's served with warm pita. I also really like that they have specialty Greek drinks available, like Loux and Mythos. The staff is super accommodating of making a modifications to your order, and food is served pretty quickly. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside without feeling crowded, and there's a coveted patio outside. I agree that 4.1 is a spot on overall rating for the Greek Spot. I don't have a good Gyros place in town where I live and was craving Gyros while on our relatively local mini-staycation. I searched for a place that was a straight-up Gyros restaurant and saw the 4.1 rating and thought, let's give it a shot. I ordered a Gyros Wrap and a side of Gyros meat (just in case there wasn't very much meat). I guessed wrong, it had a generous serving of meat with red onions, tomatoes, sauce and fries in the Pita. The meat was tender, flavorful and not over salted The ingredients with the meat gave it an overall good flavor. The Pita was relatively soft and didn't crack much when I folded the Gyros to get a big chomp (a fresh soft pita usually flexes so it doesn't crack or break). I wasn't big on the fries but I picked them out and ate them first like a side dish. I ate a little bit of the side order of meat and saved the rest for the next day. I ate the meat by itself. It was tasty and hit the spot Good service too. I love Gyros so if I'm out in Sunnyvale again, I will stop by and grab a Gyros Wrap. For all you Gyros lovers, this is a place worth a try. read more

There were fresh flower bouquets at the tables and Valentine's Day decor for the month of February. Homey. FOOD I was in the mood for something lighter and easy to get to-go. I decided it was safest to get a salad so I ordered the Souvlaki Salad, which comes with: a protein skewer over leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing. I got a beef skewer. The salad portion was good. The ingredients were fresh and crisp. However, mine came with olives and 2 lemon wedges (this was fine). I ordered this particular salad to avoid any sort of olives. The beef skewer portion was definitely on the smaller side. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't seasoned-well and over-grilled. It was chewy and tough. It definitely miss the mark for me considering the price I paid (~$19 w/ tax), which didn't justify the salad/taste/portion overall. All to say, I didn't enjoy my meal. Maybe I should've ordered something else. I'll eventually be back to give this place another try by dining-in and ordering hot food the next time around. read more
