I had gotten a full set with gel G done here on 11/25. Not even a week and a half later and 6 out of ten have come off. I did go back and was charged for the fixing of my nail, which is a little strange considering I just got a FULL SET. Which typically with refills lasts 3+ months. I am very unhappy with my nails and feel as if I have just blatantly wasted my money.

The "nail tech" named Leon, calls this shape coffin shape and charges 60$ for this. The place only accepts cash to avoid taxes and ripping people off with funny shapes like this on the picture. And also a HUGE attitude from Leon for some reason. Save yourself time and money PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. So much attitude for a owner of the store, not listening the instructions given. Waste of my time. Extremely rude treatment. Plus my nails came out like a joke.

Chipped gel nail after 1 day, uneven paint, far from cuticle line.

Gel mani chipped after ONE day. Probably the most rushed mani/pedi's I've experienced. Not even sure she fully cut my cuticles. The entire experience is run down. Coming from California nail salons where I pay the same price with a much cleaner, sanitary environment, way more color options & types of gel brands to pick from--- this place needs an upgrade. The large micro plane foot file she used looked like it already had dead skin from previous customers. Doesn't seem like it's changed much since I came here way back in high school in the early 2000's.

Honestly I loved rose nails. They were my go 2 ALWAYS. I never had a problem up till now, I went to get my most recent acrylic set July 3rd It came out so cute an nothing was wrong with them. A couple weeks later an I realized my ring finger had a black spot underneath the acrylic I honestly didn't think anything of it until know I decided to remove them as I was planning on getting a a new set done for my trip as I removed my acrylic I realized a nasty little hole on my nail an a nasty greenish around it. It's honestly such a shame because I never had a problem with this salon until now.

    Leon's amazing work

One word: LEON. I've been looking for a new place since I wasn't too happy with the place I had been going to since I was a kid for acrylics, and seeing my friend post her nails all of the time I finally looked into where she gets them done and texted Leon about making an appt! Very proficient and precise! Forever coming back

Nails by Rose Nails' Leon. See review. Base color is "Opi Ink." Accent color is a purple glitter on top of it that Leon picked. I love it!

Leon is really a nail artist--truly much more than a nail tech. He pays great attention to detail, cares about doing exemplary work so much that I have begun to spot his work at other establishments I frequent! I ask. They say his name. Seriously. My nails are really claws, like two-inch claws. I joke about getting them "re-clawed" every two weeks. Leon is a superstar (or he should be, in my book) in his own right who did not back-down when he saw my super long nails, while other salons were rude, insulting or wanted to charge too much for sub-par work or all of the above. This includes my previous salon (who shall remain nameless as my techs left without a word and the new ownership left me high and dry, refusing to do my nails at all when I called). Rose Nails answered my call with professionalism, kindness, humor and an open and friendly spirit. After months of going to Leon and getting brilliant and consisent top-notch salon service, my nails are back to being the long, sculpted, solid set I had when I was getting them done south of the Mason-Dixon line. Leon is so skilled, cracks and breaks are rare. Apparantly, long claws are not common in New England but that did not stop Leon from turning the chunky, cracking 10-claw, too-fragile mess I had into something beautiful that I never have to worry about. And my nails are part of me, not just because I've had long nails for 38 years, but because they are part of my religious expression. If you saw me in full ceremonial robes, you'd see why. I'm a mystic minister. Leon is a truly gifted artist and a blessing to all who sit with him, especially me. I would not trust these claws to just anyone. He is the best all-around, in technique, in nail art, in customer service and in this region...that I have found. In fact, no disrespect to my nail lady down south, he is the best I've known in 38 years. I can say the same about Joanne. Perfectionist and very gifted. I sat with her once. Amazing! This shop is so committed to great service, cleanliness and exceptional nail art, I don't know how they don't have lines out the door. They are busy, so appointments are recommended! The pedicures there also are phenomenal, no matter who does them. Kim and Amy are super sweet and highly skilled. Everyone goes out of their way to help customers on top of providing the best nail service around. If you want your hands to be show-stopping? Perfect proportions and super precise kit-claws? Want that super cool coffin shape? Go see Leon. In fact, if you just want fabulous hands and feet done right and beautifully the first time, just go to Rose Nails. Best of the best!

Leon always does an amazing job on my acrylics! And even after taking them off my natural nails are long and healthy underneath! He can do any design, easy or hard, you will not be disappointed!

I've been to A LOT of nail salons looking for a professional and talented nail artist. I'm so grateful my boss found Joanne at Rose Nails. I've been to this nail salon about 4 times now to see her. I get acrylic fills and sometimes nail art. I've been happy every time I leave!

Always a long wait when I come around 5:30pm after work, but in my opinion it's worth it. Love how my nails come out every time I come here! I've had a few different people do my nails here and they've all done a great job, so you can't go wrong. The shape is always what I want and they never look bulky like when I get them done at other salons.

my nails Joanne did. Thanks you

This is my second review. I know everyone is pissed Jenny is gone, I was too. I have been going here every other week to get an acrylic fill with nail art and waxing done for two years. I have suggested her to every person who has asked about or even looked at my nails. I adored her. It's over now. She's gone. She had family in Texas and she didn't want to run a salon, it was her husbands idea. Let her go. I was put off at first and was more critical than I should have been because it wasn't what I was used to, which is why I think all of these loyal customers who are currently bashing Rose are doing so, but I gave it a chance. Leon has done my nails twice and very well both times. He doesn't half ass filling acrylics which is something I judge harshly and he is spectacular at nail art which only a couple places in Waltham can boast. The chick in the third chair that does possibly the best pedicure ever is still there too. Everyone should just calm down a little.

A friend recommended me to Leon on Instagram, I texted him on the 2nd regarding my nails. I told him I'm available next week, he said Monday, @11:30 the first time on the 7th... then asks me again if I wanted to come on the 14th... @12pm. Then asks me on Sunday if I can come in at 12:30 on the 14th. I'm not sure if he knew the weather was bad but he kept changing the times. But I personally did not know it was going to be raining bad. I texted him saying I can't make it due to the rain and he said it was fine, that he would make an exception. I proceeded to ask him what other days he can do... this man gone tell me next Wednesday. I told him I wanted him to do it because of the great things I've heard about him. He asked me to make a deposit without having a set time. And I asked for my money back cuz this was getting too much for me, he asked me "how's that my problem". I'm not sure if he wants me to miss my flight due to the fact that I want to get my nails done on Weds... this is an example of booking too many people at once and having poor customer service and terrible professionalism. He's very rude and does not respect the clients. He might be good at nails but he definitely was bad with communication. I hope y'all read this before you send this man your deposit. I will NOT be going to him.

    Gelish polish.

Went in today for a quick lunch time manicure. I had made an appointment for 1145 but really didn't need to as the salon was empty. Salon has good selection of polishes (both regular as well as gel). Janet worked on my nails and was very friendly. She did try to up sell me additional services. She applied the gel in super thin layers and ended up needing 3 coats. But after it was done, the Polish looked a little bubbly and uneven. There was a small dent on 1 finger too (see photos). If I was desperate, I would go back. But disappointed that the final product isn't as smooth as I would have preferred, even for a $25 gel manicure.

You don't want to be the person mowed over when you need them, so I would avoid. I have dealt with this salon many times over the years. Usually, something happens and I take a break from them for a few years until they have a staff change. This go around, I had four progressively worse gel manis in a row. Unfortunately, the manicurists here don't have enough time to care about your natural nails. I don't know if the owner isn't allocating enough time for the service or they are letting other clients run late but the staff here always seem like they are rushing, especially with gel removals. That means they end up hacking away at your natural nails, which leaves them in progressively worse shape. After my last mani, my thumb nail ripped hours later when I reached into my pocket for dog poop baggies. There is also evidence of polish pooling at the cuticles with the nails grown out. It wasn't the best mani by a long shot and I'm sure the manicurist likely knew that. Ahead of a trip to the Berkshires, I booked a gel removal only for today. Appeared for my appointment 5 minutes early. The receptionist literally said that since I was just booked for removal, I could have a seat. I sat there for 20 minutes. During this time, some hyenas getting complicated nail art were harassing me for no good reason. I said nothing to them, but they were making appearance-related comments and laughing. In the past when running behind, the receptionist has called and texted to ask if it's okay to push my appointment back, but not today - I guess because it was "just" a removal. I'm currently the primary caregiver for an elderly relative who was with a paid caregiver during this time. I wasn't going to sit around all afternoon waiting for "just" a removal and also didn't want to continue having to listen to the hyenas. The receptionist had left her desk after checking me in and hadn't returned. No updates from anyone on staff. I walked out of the salon...and am left with a mess on my nails for a weekend at Tanglewood. Different people are of course treated differently. I watched a white family come into this salon once with the daughter having booked everyone at the wrong location. There were three of them and a packed salon but they still found a way to accommodate them on time. I've also seen whites come in for removals only and get served on time. And the logic of prioritizing high cost services doesn't math if you've been a loyal customer - having dropped hundreds over multiple visits - and you need the not-so-great work of one of this salon's manicurists off your nails. It's still "just" a removal??? All of the manicurists at this location have their pluses and minuses. Siobhan was wonderful when she worked here but no longer does. Francesca is the only person I would trust here these days but she's careful, which means that she's usually running behind. Also, her cuticle work isn't the best - they sometimes look a little more ragged after she works on them. Didn't have a good experience with Q. She really hacked up my nails doing a gel removal and she applied a subsequent gel polish too thick. Note about comments from the "manager": Thank you so much for reaching out directly to apologize for the poor service. (Wait--my mistake. That must've slipped your mind.) While we're celebrating great communication, you may have also overlooked the part where your receptionist wasn't at her desk. Small detail, I know. Just to clarify: I call out what I experience, which I'm fully entitled to do. You're certainly welcome to say everyone is treated well--when the appointment actually starts on time and the service runs as scheduled, like it did for the clients who walked in after me. And as for your records, they may want to double-check themselves--unless "waiting for someone to vacate the chair" now counts as part of the treatment time.
