Went in and asked for gel builder (seemed like not a problem), woman told me they didn't do gel builder after they had already taken my dip off. She spent over an hour and a half doing a dip manicure (usually a 45 min process) When I got home, two nails had chipping nails. When I had the chance to go back a few days to ask them to redo my nails and tell them I was unhappy with how they came out, they disregarded me. I told the lady that time I originally wanted gel builder but that I was told they didn't do that, that lady said "oh no, we do gel builder" So what is it? I wanted a whole new manicure with a whole new color at that point. But they only fixed the two nails. Mind you, the original color I had was a mix of two different colors, and when I had them fixed they only did one of the colors so now I have two different nails that do not match the other nails. I never have to worry about requesting anyone in particular when I want my nails done. I have been going here for couple of months now and had my nails done by everyone in the salon. I always leave the salon happy! I also get my eyebrows done here. They took time to understand my style and always remember it when I return to get it done again. I always call in advance to check if I can come in. I have never have to waited for longer than 10 minutes when I show up which is a huge plus. I usually park across from the street. No matter what time I show up, I have never had trouble finding parking spot. I'm glad I have found Angel Nails & Spa and get to know everyone working here. The ladies there are awesome. Very friendly and social. They know what customer service is all about! We have witness plenty of times people walking in literally a minute to closing time. Guess what? They were not turned away. I would come close to closing, but being friendly and more than okay to take them in is always a big A+++ in customer service in my book. Family owned and run, these girls did their homework in customer service 101. They remember my sister and I every time and always welcomes us with a question about our last conversation and how it has been since they last saw us. Top notch work and service. $25 for shellac nails, and they DO NOT charge a separate charge for taking off your paint. Small place, but the service more than makes up for it. So I was pretty disappointed with the appearance and cleanliness of this place as compared to the photos. A lot of the regular nail polish seems pretty old. If I were rating this place purely on appearance I'd give it three stars. On the plus side the staff is nice and they work quickly if you're looking for a fast lunch break service. Seriously do not go here for a pedicure. To say it's the worst I've ever had would be an understatement. The people here don't clip your nail all the way across, they clip one side and then tear the rest of the nail off - which is a very unhealthy way of doing it. The corner on the other side then digs into your skin and will often continue to grow that way (which is what often causes ingrown toenails). They did it so hard I started bleed profusely from one toe, and their solution was to take cotton and jab it into the cut, which did nothing but irritate it more. After they were done they tried to tell me they hadn't caused the bleeding and they had no idea what caused it. On the way in there was an advertisement for 10% all services Mon-Wed, but they didn't tell me the amount before swiping my card and charged me full price. read more

I've come done my nails twice now. The first time I got gel color manicure. It was really nice I forgot the lady that actually did it but she had short hair and it landed right above her shoulders. I thought she was going to do them again. Yesterday I arrived in front of their salon around 1010 and they still weren't open but I waited patiently. I got a French manicure gel color change. It was done by the eldest lady there. She did a terrible job. I hate it. I called to see if they can change it but they said ok, but it's going to be 18. I've already paid for the French, why would I pay again. Very disappointed. I don't know if I'll come back again. Wouldn't get French again but I've been back multiple times for gel mani. And pedi. Very very disappointed. When I made a reservation at 10, the person on phone didn't tell me they open at 10:30. No one was in the store when I arrived at 10. The woman who did my manicure used to much strength and broke my finger, but she didn't say anything just act like she didn't saw it. Worst pedicure I've ever had. Girl was very rough with my feet, she filed my nails so hard I actually pulled my feet back several times as it hurt, which really annoyed her. She scrubbed really hard with foot brush too. The application of the nail varnish was terrible - gaps and uneven edges particularly on big toes. Application of the topcoat was a joke, you can see where the tc was slopped onto skin around toes-so unprofessional. And the girl had earbuds in for the entire appointment, that is just plain rude in my opinion. Needless to say, I will not step foot in that salon again, ever! read more

I'm so disappointed at this place. It was my first time here....I got a dip/powder removal and a dip/powder manicure. Normally that takes about 1 hour more or less. I was in this place for 2 HOURS...for a dip manicure! They pushed back my cuticles while they were dry, and without any oil on them. At the very end I asked if I could at least have some lotion. I do have to say the woman who did my nails was very polite but was careless because she said "thank you" since she was done. I said no, this needs to get fixed....my entire left hand was smudged because the top coat of the dip is almost like a bonding glue and it was a defective product. She thought I'd walk out like that. Horrible service. Stuff was unfriendly and the service was rushed. The place is so small so even if there are 3 customers, the place looks packed. The guy started doing my manicure at the pedicure station and while I was standing up. It was uncomfortable. Then, a station freed up and I offered to move there. Please note, I offered, not him. When I was at the drying station, he never came to check on me and see if my nails were dry or not. I found this place after deciding to stop going to my old place. It's definitely a hole in the wall, but I'm not expecting a world class spa and I definitely don't want to pay for one. When I walked in, everyone was very nice and there was no wait at all. The man (not sure of his name) did my nails and was very quick. He shaped them perfectly just the way I asked (oval/almond shaped). So everything sounds great right? So why only 2 stars? Wellll, the guy was nice enough, but I feel like he may have been having an off- day or had something on his mind because as he was shaving down/buffing my nails on the top, he shaved right through my nail and into my nail bed. I yanked my hand back and he apologized, but ouch! And yes it is every bit as painful as it sounds Even with my little mishap, I'll probably go back. I cannot recommend this place enough! I work in Waltham and will take my lunch break to get a mani/pedi here. The spa itself is not that fancy but, it is always clean and neat when I go in. I don't have a particular manicurist that I go to, just whoever is open- and they all do a great job. The Gel manicure is $25 which is pretty decent, and as some of the other posts have mentioned - they have a lot of colors to choose from. A Gel manicure from there usually lasts about 10 days. I've had regular manicures there too, and surprising they last just over a week- which is great for me since I do a lot of laundry and dishes. I cannot say enough about this place. I love everything; the services are wonderful, the people are so nice, it's super clean, and pricing is decent. I have been going to these girls for about a year now, and I would suggest them to anyone. I get the OPI axxium gel and pedis all the time, with an occasional eyebrow wax. On Saturday morning, I got the worst mani/pedi I have ever gotten at Angel Nails. I get my nails done every couple of weeks and am new to the Waltham area, so I thought I'd try it out. The skin on my feet is worse than it was when I went in. She slapped some lotion on my legs, didn't even rub it in and totally missed putting any on the bottom of my feet at all. I asked for a French manicure, and in addition to it already coming off, you can see the whites of my nails under the polish - she just threw on some white paint and didn't even look to see if it covered what it should. During the hour I was there, they took in walk-ins and had people who had called to make appointments show up with no one to take care of them. Told them it would be 15 minutes. When I left, some of them were still waiting and it had been at least 45. Don't go here! read more

I really like Angel Nails & Spa, but I'm picky with my 5 star reviews, so 4 is generally as good as it gets from me. First, I should disclose that I only go there for eyebrow waxing. Getting a pedi there is definitely on my to do list. Not only is this place really really reasonably priced and really clean, but the service is great. The women working there are all super nice and make you feel welcome, which is something that is unfortunately lacking at a lot of nail salons in the area. I always just walk in, and despite them always looking pretty busy, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so. Granted I live just down the street and can walk there no problem, but for those of you who have to drive there, parking is wicked easy. Bring quarters for the meter if you choose to park on Main Street. However, almost all of the one way streets that run perpendicular to main street on the side that the salon is on are free parking. So you can just walk a tiny bit further and save your quarters. Oh, while you can pay with a credit card, they only accept tips in cash, so try to remember to bring a few bucks with you. I've been getting no chip manicure for a while...in various cities (Boston, NYC, Chicago, Louisville) and this is honestly the best nail place I've ever been to. It doesn't look like much when you walk in -- it's small and cramped, but the service is excellent and I've NEVER had no-chip stay on as long. I don't know what kind of miracle they put on my nails, but my nails do not chip for 2 weeks...and I sanitize my hands 100x/day and am very rough on them. I went to Angel Nails & Spa the first time to receive a "fill-in" or a "refill" (fake acrylic nails). I told the woman that one of my nails were broken and it needed to be fixed. Two days later, the same nail broke. AND, about two days after that, my nail started to separate on the sides from the fake nail. I was so angry that I just popped off the fake nails (It shouldn't be that easy to pop off fake nails). I gave Angel Nails & Spa another chance (I thought that maybe the woman that I got just wasn't a good nail technician.) So, I went back for an entire full-set (the fake acrylic nails), and BEHOLD...One week later the nails started to come up on the sides and I had to pop them off again. (I pop the off because if water gets under the separated nail, you could risk getting a fungus). SO, I will not be going back to Angel Nails & Spa.
