This is a hidden gem and local favorite. Tucked away a few blocks off the hustle and bustle of NW 21/23, this shop offers great ambiance, spectacular coffee and pretty good people watching. They serve heart coffee and they also sell proud Mary. Two legit brands that bolster their reputation for me. The atmosphere inside is clean and modern. There are a few tables outside on the patio if you want more of an urban sidewalk experience. Parking is manageable on the adjacent streets and menu prices are fair for the market. Service is generally friendly and fairly efficient. The available bathroom is clean and does not require a code, which is always a perk. This is a great option if you want something that offers more of a neighborhood type of feel. A great choice if you want to pick something to go or if you want to stay and chill for a while. Had some time this morning to check out Prince Coffee in North Portland. They just opened a couple of months ago in the old Atomic Pizza building. They did a great job with the space. It's open, bright, and has tons of seating with tables, counter spots, and a nice back patio. The wraparound front windows bring in a lot of natural light, and the whole place just has a really good vibe. Street parking was easy, the staff was friendly, and the coffee was solid. Definitely a nice addition to the neighborhood and a spot I'll be coming back to. read more

First of all, love this location for closing at 8 pm. There are plenty of seats, but it's hard to get a seat sometimes because people come here with their laptops. When the weather is nice, they out out a couple of outdoor tables and chairs. Plenty of coffee and tea choices. Well made. Some pastries available. It would be nice if they offered more pastries. I actually ordered the peanut butter brittle. It was an interesting mix and that was what intrigued me. It was actually pretty good and not overly sweet, just how I like it. Swung by Prince Coffee before a midday meeting and was pleasantly surprised by their delicious specialty lattes and breakfast sandwiches! I will say this spot is cozy, but can get busy/crowded during peak hours. It was a tad difficult to find a place to sit with my things, but thankfully a spot freed up as I was waiting for my order. They are known for their stroop lattes, but have a variety of other specialty picks including tea lattes that are well loved. Breakfast sandwich wise, I appreciate that they always have a couple veggie options and additionally a quiche, some granola/chia pudding. I tried the cashew pesto breakfast sandwich here and it was tasty! Came out at a good pace as well. Quality is great, but I will say I find prices to be a tad steep; what can you do in this economy. Such a cute coffee spot! I've gone twice now when visiting Portland and everytime it's so good and always so busy! Everyone is so nice and helpful. Friendly staff, delicious quiche, and decent latte- I got one that was recommended as one of the most popular and it didn't taste like I expected but it was fine. My biggest issue with the place is how uncomfortable it is- the line wrapped around the area, putting people hovering over those sitting- and the seating is either hard wood benches or metal bench or a strange fabric bench with metal bars on the edges. Each option was uncomfortable, with no backs on them. If you're taking it to go or you don't need a comfortable seat and don't mind being very close to the people around you, it's fine. read more

Again, as in what seems like all the cafes in the PNW, the espresso was sour and so Im guessing they use light roast beans which I'll never understand. Since this seems so popular I cant dock any stars as I might be the only one who prefers darker roasts for my espresso it seems. This coffee shop is happening! I had been to their NE location, but this spot on NW 19th is particularly bustling with people meeting up, working, chatting, and of course, enjoying the coffee. They use a variety of coffee roasters. They've got a number of specialty lattes, including the sugar cookie, hazelnut, pistachio, stroop, cardamom, and more. They do a mocha with Cloudforest chocolate. They also have all your classic coffee drinks, like espresso, Americano, cappuccino, etc. Milk choices are oat almond, coconut, or cow. Their pastries are from Bakeshop. They also have a retail selection of wines, dishware, mugs and thermoses, etc. I really enjoyed the amber tumblers they served the Cortado out of (pictured). However, my main feedback for the biz is that their thinner amber glasses are too thin - they're hot to the touch and don't keep the coffee warm for long. And I wish the 16oz drinks came in "for here" reusable cups. The space is expansive, full of daylight, industrial, vaguely Swedish-minimal. There is bench, stool, and chair seating inside, and a small handful of sidewalk tables. Street parking only. Open 7am - 8pm! Wow! read more

I love this place. The people who work here are kept very busy but they are always kind and helpful if you ever need a recommendation. Service is simple and easy; order your drink at the front and then (preferably) enjoy it in their space. Prince Coffee is a quaint coffee shop with a Dutch influenced menu. I love their simple teal aesthetic accompanied by wood accents. I ordered the Anijsmelk Latte which has star anise syrup and topped with grated nutmeg. I like that the syrup didn't make the drink too sweet but instead added more of a warmth to the coffee with the spice flavor. I also tried the Maple Scone and it was delicious. It seemed like they used a whole wheat flour or incorporated some grains because it had that type of texture. It was definitely healthier than your standard scone. Prince is easily one of my favorite coffee shops ever. I am so happy they are open until 8! I have many times stopped in around 6 or 7pm with friends. I am so excited for them to be expanding their seating area. Sometimes it can be a bit crowded if you're planning to stay and sip. Their coffee is always amazing. The cardamom latte is my absolute favorite but I also love their mochas. I get hot and iced. The matcha is great too. The staff is always very friendly. I've been given a sandwich or a cookie for free before which was nice. I love the random kindness. If I forget to specify a size they do assume 12oz instead of 16oz. We stopped here on one of our Northwest Portland outing for coffee and a bite to eat. Their place is nicely designed and full of sun from the skylight and large panel windows. The staff was friendly, service was great with employees that seem to truly care about you and the drinks and food are yummy. The beverages were tasty and had great flavor. The Sweetheart Breakfast sandwich was served hot and it was flavorful and yummy. The Chia Pudding was very unique, but tasted delicious. Stopped in today on a walk around the neighborhood. Had seen good reviews on this shop before and I'm so glad we went in! Shop is bright and cozy with some cute merch. We got an oatmilk latte and an iced orange cardamom matcha that was on the seasonal menu and Omgoodness. My boyfriend had the latte and said that it was great and my matcha was wonderful the orange made it so bright and refreshing on the pallet, the quality of the matcha was also there smooth and creamy it was great. Staff was nice and they were moving through orders quickly but with quality. Can wait to go back and try some of the food too! Very happy with this visit and glad that it's so close to me! read more
