I want to start off by saying that I have a long history in medical office administration and customer service and have never left a review on any establishments before. The "care" my son received from the older female hygienist was appalling. She immediately got annoyed when he asked his birth sex to be changed from female to male (because medical offices should have the proper patient information for any medications and whatnot). Then, when she started his cleaning, she asked him if he flosses. Now, none of us are perfect and he has a very busy schedule (not that it's anyone's business), but when he answered that he tries to, but only ends up doing it 1-2 times a week, she got upset and stated that he's "no longer 18 and can make time to floss on the way to work". A suggestion is one thing, but to make condescending remarks about such a small detail to a stranger is not only odd, but extremely unprofessional. It gets worse though. She proceeded to dig into his teeth and gums so hard that his head literally jerked back and he had to ball his fists to manage the pain. The dentist finally checked in to see him and said that his teeth looked very nice and he just had some build up, but nothing they couldn't fix. He's the only reason I'm okay with one star being an option. Once the dentist left, the hygienist came back only to tell my son that his teeth looked "bad" and continued the service. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or if she needs to find a profession that makes her happy, but her unprofessionalism on top of her nasty attitude is enough for my son to schedule elsewhere and i hope that no one else experiences what my son did. read more

I had an appointment at 9:15 a.m. but when I arrived the office was locked and no one was inside. Another patient arrived and we waited outside, assuming someone would show up soon. He had used his vacation time because that was the only way he could take the appointment without losing pay. He eventually received a text after his appointment time, saying the office would be closed. There was less than two inches of snow, the temperature was above freezing the roads were easily passable. My Frederick Dentist did not call to apologize or to set up a new appointment. Earlier, they had recommended a cap for my tooth. I had a temporary one put on and was told that the permanent one would be available in about a week. A month later, I called to see what had happened and was told they sent a text to notify me but when I had them check that number, they acknowledged they had used a wrong number. This place is incompetent. I strongly advise you seek a more reputable and dependable dentist. read more

Me and my wife chose My Frederick Dentist for our regular maintain Dental Hygiene. It was the middle of the day and I took some time off from work. 3D Xrays imaging was conducted to create a 3D rendition of the oral cavity, which wasn't necessary for Dental Hygiene. It was charged to my insurance.Then 2D X-Ray images were taken in duplicates. I don't understand the need for duplicity of these various imaging conditions. I guess, whenever possible they try to take our hard-earned money to furnish their plethora of instruments and justify otherwise.Then, I waited on the Dental Chair for about 15 minutes for Dr. Sang Cho to attend to me. He had a glimpse at the images and started looking at my teeth. After 5 minutes, he wandered off to talk to some other folks and left waiting for another 10 mins. I told them that I had a meeting to attend after the dental appointment. Finally, he spent 5-10 mins cleaning. The cleaning was poorly conducted (in hurry) compared to other dental hygienists. I believe there is a lack of professional attitude to the patient. The doctor ( dental hygienist himself) hasn't spent enough time attentively to do the job properly. Later on he suggested putting a crown on one of my molars. I got a quote of a total of $900 in which $581 out of pocket. Immediately, there was a red flag. I realized this person is hankering for money from his (new) patients. I have previously done dental treatment such as filling and porcelain crown before with the same insurance coverage that cost me $135 out of pocket. My wife also experienced a similar situation from another dentist in Frederick. Later on she went to orthodontics in Gaithersburg for better and genuine treatment. Learning from the past experiences, I wanted to go for a second opinion. As soon as I requested my X-Ray images they were charging $37 for releasing my record... What a double whammy!! I have already paid for my X Ray. I have also paid for their instrument use and now they are charging more money for giving me what I already own. I don't understand if they have to charge more for releasing my report then why isn't it already included for the first time. I would never go back to Dr. Sang Cho at My Frederick Dentist. I suggest to folks who are reading this review to be careful using this dental service. Addendum: Looking at their pricing disparities (see attached photos), to me, My Frederick Dentist is ripping their customers off at a logarithmic scale. Their website shows (called casting a net) the X-Rays and Hygiene service for new patients is provided at $99 but in reality they charged me $481.00. Also, for the same service, fees varied for me vs. my wife. When we tried to report this in BBB - hehe, not a surprise, it's not accredited - indicates that their discriminatory business practices cannot be trusted. read more

We were in search for a dentist that wasn't crooked and thought that we finally found it but we were incredibly wrong. This place is no different than all the other dentist practices that scheme their way into getting you to pay more money without notice and when you're already at a point where it would be a huge inconvenience to go find another dentist and start the process all over again. My wife was going here for a simple crown procedure and at the beginning of the process we were given a Proposed Treatment Plan that had the price to pay for each step taken in the process. Well they were quick to nearly double the price on the day of the treatment without giving us notice or mentioning to us the change in price. Even with insurance we ended up paying a heavy amount of money that we were not prepared to pay for. On top of that, after my wife's procedure of getting a temporary crown, she wasn't properly advised on what to do or not do after the procedure. All they told her was to not eat much on the side where the temporary crown was. This was not enough information. My wife had dinner shortly after the procedure and was careful as instructed. She ate rice with nothing hard in the food and the crown so easily fell out. Now we have to find time out of our busy schedule to make the 30 minute drive to this place just to have the same procedure done because of their lack of information and guidance. A professional practice would have properly advised to either wait a while before eating, or advised what food to avoid or is acceptable. Either that or they would have done a good enough job of keeping the crown in place. FAIR WARNING, you'll get nothing but a headache dealing with this practice. read more

Tried this dental office after receiving many ads in the mail. First cleaning they find an area that they said needed a filling. Doctor who did the work was obviously not confident in his ability. Within 2 weeks after the procedure I was in pain in my jaw. Apparently he did not properly align my bite after the procedure, so another dentist in the office fixed it. Next visit, they inform me that I have a cavity that needs filling. As I have only had about 3 cavities in my life, I got a second opinion from another dentist who said the area was fine, no treatment necessary. Like many dental offices in the Frederick area, they seem to be more concerned with making money than properly treating their patients. I think they need to read the Hippocratic Oath again. read more

This facility used to be great to come to until the recent months. The customer service has been lacking. When given my breakdown of what my out of pocket cost was going to be the employee barely could explain it to myself. They require all of it before you can even schedule your service. But before I heard the office manager allow another patient to not pay until the actual appointment because same as I, they did not have the funds with it being the holidays. The office manager as I was leaving also is vaping in the hallways of the building which I found odd. The wait time is a lot longer than it used to be as well. The dentists are great though and Becca and Alexa are as well. The waiting room is also very dirty and dusty lately. I hope the owner can come in and observe and help get the practice back to what it used to be. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have an email from them confirming my 10 am appointment. They call me at 9:45 asking where I am. I told her I would be there just prior to ten as that is my appointment time. They cancelled my appointment for me not being there and stated that their system had me at 9:45. I drove 35 minutes to have to turn around and go home because they messed up. This is quite honestly the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen. If a business messed up it should be on them to fix, but instead I'm having to ruin my morning by driving an hour for absolutely no reason. With all the dentists in the area I would HIGHLY advise you go elsewhere!! read more

OMG! How has anyone not rated this place yet? It is by far the best dentist office I have been to in Frederick. The staff is courteous, kind, efficient, knowledgeable, and very, very thorough. The office is small, so it is very personal and not overcrowded like other offices I have been to. My appointment was at 1:00pm, and I was taken back EXACTLY at 1:00pm. The dental hygienist was very gentle as she talked me through my cleaning. My entire experience was wonderful, but what I loved most was how transparent the dentist was. She didn't blab about a bunch of unnecessary services I should get in order to increase their profits. She was direct and honest about what I needed and how I could maintain a healthy mouth. I highly recommend this place. I only wish I had found it sooner. read more

I was incredibly pleased with my first experience at The Dental Studio. Besides clean teeth, I left the office very informed. Dr. Aziz reviewed digital X-rays right in front of me and explained what looked good, where some areas of concern were (I hadn't been to the dentist in a decade), and what I could do to help those areas.
