The latte was fine, but it took quite a while to come out, although it didn't seem terribly busy. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time, but it didn't leave me with the best impression. read more

I love that they have tons of seating, a full menu, and parking available. ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 There's lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, and despite packing in a good amount of tables, the space never feels cramped. It's a great option for a coffee date, working while snacking, or just hanging out for a while. The layout makes it easy to settle in without feeling rushed. SERVICE: 4/5 Service is reasonably friendly and polite. My only complaint is that a couple of times I've gone they've seemed short-staffed - not at all the fault of the employees, just something to be aware of if you walk in and don't immediately see or get greeted by anyone. COFFEE: 3.5/5 They have a lot of coffee options on the menu, which is a big plus. So far I've tried the Macadamia Nut Latte (iced, oat milk): 3.5/5 and the Vanilla Latte (iced, oat milk): 4/5. The macadamia nut latte wasn't terribly flavorful, so I probably wouldn't order it again, but if you prefer a latte that isn't sweet, this could actually be perfect for you. The vanilla latte was pretty standard; nothing to write home about, but no real complaints either. I'd happily order it again, especially if I was also grabbing food or planning to sit and work for a bit. FOOD: 4/5 They have a very extensive food menu, which is a big plus. Lots of options across bagels, pastries, toasts, and sandwiches - both savory and sweet. I ordered the Turkey Sandwich, which was tasty and fresh, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the amount of meat. If you're expecting a classic, stacked deli sandwich, you might be disappointed. That said, the flavor and overall quality were still very good. I also love that this spot opens fairly early. If I'm meeting someone for coffee and conversation in this part of Bird Rock, this is usually my first choice. read more

The service was good, but the matcha was the worst I've ever had. It was extremely clumpy, as if the matcha powder had simply been added to the milk without being properly whisked. It was also incredibly bitter and overpowered every other flavor. I ordered the strawberry matcha and couldn't taste any strawberry at all because of the bitterness. I would not recommend the matcha here. read more

Early Sunday morning. No eggs, no pastery. WTH? Ran out of ingredients for just about everything.

This coffee place gives absolutely no options to customize their drinks and when i did it had chunks of drown suffer at the bottom and at the end of the day anyone with common sense would know you have to use hot water or a hot shot of espresso. The service was nice other then a worker from the back telling me this is a traditional coffee place when i didn't see a sign of that so how would i know? My drinks came out fast but i sadly ended up throwing out both of the drinks they were terrible. read more

Came to Rosemonts Cafe after ordering one of those Too Good To Go Surprise Bags for $3.99. It came with a plain croissant, ham and cheese croissant, and a raisin pastry. Pros: -I was able to find street parking but there is also a parking structure where you can park -staff is friendly -they have Wi-Fi available (passcode is displayed by the register) -there was also a sign that there is 50 percent off day old items. Love that they are sustainable! -indoor and outdoor seating is available. I saw dog owners on the patio :) Cons: -none read more

Holy crap, if I could give this place a 0 I would I walked in on a Saturday morning, and there were a decent amount of people sitting down, no one in a rush I walk up to the register to order and watch 4 people continuously walk past me After someone finally deigns to take my order, which is 2 bagel sandwiches, I continue to sit and wait for 20 minutes as everyone else's coffee is handed to them in .05 seconds By the time they finally got me the food, it was cold and not worth $28 dollars. Overall, I would not recommend this place at all. The ambiance is cute and all, and wouldn't be a bad place to sit and work/read a book. But if you're looking for quick service and not being taken advantage of for your time, try somewhere else. read more

We walked about 5 minutes from our AirBnB for a sandwich, and we got two of the freshest Sammie creations! The bread was soft and obviously made today. And it was loaded with all of the freshest ingredients. This is a woman owned business and their service was exceptional. The portions were huge. I like the Rosemonts Cafe. I had a peanut butter and banana toast dressed with honey, crushed peanuts, cinnamon, and cacao chips on sourdough toast for $9. I really liked that they put a good toast on the sourdough. They put a good amount to tasty peanut butter, a lot of sliced bananas, and a handsome of amount of crushed peanuts and cacao chips. The addition of the cinnamon and honey brought this toast together nice. Best of all, they give you two slices! Service was very friendly, and they offer inside and outside seating. I originally came in for some with eggs on it for breakfast. Hopefully they find a way to include breakfast sandwiches in the future. It is a "cafe." Cool spot for coffee and breakfast and lunch. read more

This place was cute, in a good location, staff was nice. But we waited for WAY too long for our order. We ordered 5 drinks, and waited 30 minutes. I think maybe they were understaffed when I went. Only two ppl working. I think one extra body would've helped tremendously. The coffee was ehh. Not worth what we paid. We didn't drink the coffee, pretty bitter and didn't taste like the flavors we ordered. The tea was good, but it's hard to mess up tea. read more

This is a new locally owned cafe that has opened in the Windansea neighborhood of La Jolla. The location has no on-site parking so you have to hunt for one of the precious curbside spots on the side streets. The inside of the suite was neatly decorated and had enough seating for about two dozen customers. Pastries, fancy toasts, coffee, sandwiches, and charcuterie boards were the main categories listed on large menu boards hanging on the wall behind the service counter. The lady owner was very pleasant and ran the register during my visit. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich made up of black forest ham, gruyere, romaine, tomato, mayo, and honey mustard on thick slices of sourdough bread. A worker who assembled the item brought it to my table. The sandwich was cut into two halves with each having a good ratio of meat to bread. The hard swiss cheese provided a creamy texture to contrast the ham. I enjoyed a quiet lunch at Rosemonts Cafe and gave the experience a four star rating. read more

Stopped in for coffee which was really good. Looks like they have some pretty good food on the menu for breakfast/brunch, but didn't try anything. It was crowded and there were people eating. Street parking only which can be kind of a pain to find but that's La Jolla cute little spot. read more

They had me at VG's donuts! My husband and I were looking for something quick to pick up nearby while walking our dog and I noticed that Rosemonts had donuts, so stopped in. They have a small display of donuts, pastries, and muffins that you can select from (they will take it out of the display for you), along with fancy toasts, sandwiches, and of course coffee and non-coffee drinks. I got a couple donuts, a danish, and a chai latte to go. The chai latte was delicious as were the donuts and danish. Service was very friendly and pretty quick. There were a handful of customers dining in and they all seemed to be enjoying their food and drinks. They have a few tables outside as well. I'll definitely be back to try their fancy toasts and sandwiches. They do have a rewards program (through Toast) and you can sign up when you pay with your credit card. We have come here multiple times during our stay in La Jolla. Fantastic coffee, friendly service and outdoor seating. Indoor seating is fine as well, but what better way to enjoy the sun to be sitting outside. The overnight oats are fantastic as is the bagel and lox. read more

Came by on Thanksgiving to grab a few sandwiches based on the reviews. Got 2 Italian and a turkey sandwich. They closed at 12:30 and we ordered at 12. Didn't get the sandwiches until 12:20 and also overheard employees "shut down" another order. Just opened my sandwich to notice that an end slice was also used for a $16 sandwich. Was just a quick walk from where we were staying, I ordered the vanilla dream (I believe they said it was a one to one ratio of espresso and milk then they add vanilla syrup) which sounded perfect since my most common gripe with coffee shops is a latte that's too milky. This was a delicious balance and wasn't too sweet. The employees are very kind and welcoming. They also have free wifi and outlets, so it'd be a nice spot to get a bit of work done too. This is a very special place! The Owner Abby is an amazingly warm, welcoming, & loving woman... She has a smile that will absolutely light up the room and brighten even the gloomiest of days. Abby practically went through every choice of tea in the Cafe before finding a suitable one that fit my request. The decaf Mint Tea was excellent, and it paired perfectly with the fresh Blueberry Muffin that was served. As a connoisseur of blueberry muffins, this was quite possibly the best one that I have ever had! Abby then recommended the Italian Sandwich. I have had many sandwiches over the years, but something was surprisingly different about this one. The spread was absolutely delicious! It combined well with the olive tapanade and shredded premium Romain lettuce. With a touch of heat, the combination of Italian Meats and top shelf ingredients made this supersized sandwich rank among the best that I have ever tasted as well... Then, Andreana created a concoction of turmeric, spices, honey, and coconut milk which was very tastey AND healthy! It hit the spot on a cold rainy day, plus I felt energized and reinvigorated. What a great spot - stopped in for breakfast when staying nearby. It was busy and the owner, Abby, seemed to be on a first name basis with most customers. She was hustling but had a smile and you could tell her joy in making sure everyone was happy and taken care of. The iced tea was passionfruit flavored, fresh and hit the spot. The ham and cheese was on a perfect toasted croissant, a large portion and also quite good. The pastries also fresh and delicious (and huge). Cute inside and ton of outdoor seating. I'm in San Diego visiting family and staying in a local hotel. My wife and I are used to gourmet coffee and were looking for a local shop and stopped in to Rosemonts to give them a try. The shop is tidy and has a lot of comfortable seating with tables. They have a dog water dish out front so it's awesome to see that pups are welcome. The menus are big and easy to read. The people working here are super friendly, this is refreshing being from out of town. The coffee is perfect, not that sugary chain stuff, just great tasting crafted brew. This will be our spot every time we visit La Jolla! read more

This little cafe has very friendly service and delicious food. The pastries and sandwiches are all excellent. My daughter loved the chocolate muffin especially. The variety of coffee concoctions is unusually good. The coffee drinks were beautiful and tasted amazing. I became a huge fan of their chocolate overnight oats as well. Quite possibly the best honey latte I've ever had. So good in fact, I got another for the walk to the beach. The club special was tempting, but I went with my original craving -- avocado toast. The avocado toast (which I get without onions) was a VERY generous portion -- 2 large rectangular slices with smashed (not mushed!! ) avocado. So happy La Jolla FINALLY has a good coffee shop near Windansea Beach. I've already been here 3 times since it opened and all of them great experiences- the place is so clean, always a great playlist and vibes are immaculate. You can tell the owner has a strong, positive connection in the community and is friends with everyone who lives in town. The food is phenomenal... it's so hard to find BOMB Avacado toast that's better than I can make at home but damn they really understood the assignment. The portions are excellent, sandwiches are so tasty (makes a huge difference when the bread is actually fresh) and I literally had the best oat milk latte of my life.
