Me and my wife found this gem of the place about two months ago . Come here often by often means every day we come get our coffees in the morning they have the best almond latte. You've also tried their sandwiches tuna melt, and the breakfast burrito burritos.. This place is just incredible. The quality of what they offer is the best I've ever had very clean place. Easy to find. Small parking lot, but was able to snag a spot. Customer service is super helpful and great with the recommendations. They took time to go through the most popular drinks. Vibe is super cute with plenty of seating inside and outside. Nice place to come work and enjoy a light breakfast. Menu looked good. I ordered a large pistachio hot coffee and it was okay! I love that they use pistachio milk. Large comes with 2 shots of espresso so I added an extra shot, but couldn't taste any espresso. That was disappointing it basically tasted like warm milk. I think I would come back to give the iced honey vanilla latte a try, but I'd probably want 4 shots total. Only bummer is deciding if I want to spend $9-$10 on a coffee that might just taste okay. read more

The coffee is like very sweet. but had a strange interaction that kind of killed the vibe. I asked what beans they use (pretty standard coffee question), and was told they're "not allowed" to share that information. That felt odd, especially considering they sell bags of beans right there in the shop. It came off more dismissive and rude than informative. Cute spot for an afternoon pick me up! My hubby wanted to try paru matcha so we came here and the matcha latte was quite good! Java Earth is one of my favorite coffee shops in SD!! Both locations are near the beach so what's not to love?! I wanted to go to Paru for a matcha latte, however when I got there a worker informed me that they just closed the cafe portion of the store permanently. However, she mentioned that this cafe served Paru matcha which is why I wanted to try it here. That was a big mistake though since the matcha here was very disappointing. I ordered the banana cream top matcha with oat milk and it was bad. The drink was so milky and tasted like matcha flavored oat milk. The cream top was a thin layer and it tasted so artificial. really enjoyed this spot! at 8:30 it was pretty steady but we found a place to wait in their ample outdoor seating. the area is super cute and their interior is decorated nicely. i like that they offer some chips and other miscellaneous drinks alongside their sizeable menu. i got their matcha latte w oatmilk after i saw that they offered paru matcha and was pleasantly surprised! it had perfect ratios and was not milky at all. the matcha taste was very good. as someone who loves sweets i could have gotten a bittttttt more sweetener, but it was probably a good standard sweetness for most. my boyfriend's honey vanilla latte was also very good, a bit too sweet but tasted great! we also got a hot black coffee which was good, but my friend's biscoff latte was lacking in biscoff flavor by a lot. it was also less sweet than my bfs honey one, which we were not expecting. otherwise, all the food we got was great! i ended up eating my breakfast burrito at the beach 20 mins after we ordered, but it was still sooooo good. super balanced and for $12 it was a great size for me and my bf to split. would love to come back here! read more

I shouldn't be telling you this, but I think the secret is already out. The banana bread is off the chain. It appears to sell fast, and for good reason. Moist and delicious. I would go out of my way here just for this. The acai bowl is also generously portioned and filling. The drip coffee is meh, but the specialty coffees are great. The service is fast and friendly. The place is tight and cozy. Only about 5 small tables with an indoor seating capacity of maybe 12-15 people. The matcha quality truly is amazing. It's delicious. The plating was crisp and clean - everything about the restaurant was seamlessly put together. It was a haven for good food and a way to start the morning peacefully! There's a good number of people trickling in as soon as the restaurant opened. I ordered the Happy Matcha, which was a matcha with brown sugar and caramel and a bit pricey in my opinion at $7+. I have had matcha at different places and this one just did not taste as good. Very sweet and barely any matcha taste. Tasted more like culinary than ceremonial. The color was also a little off at a very light green. There are a few parking spots in front which is nice or street parking seemed easy. There is a cute little patio out front with plenty of seating plus a few seats inside. What a cool surprise to find this cute coffee shop (with no laptop campers!) in downtown La Jolla yesterday. After my clinical trial visit I always get money and while I love to help science, I love even more to spend the cash on coffee and pastries:). The place is so pristine, clear, white, small yet comfortable inside and outside there are tables and super pleasant with the sun shining. Came across this spot when I started a clinical internship nearby. This very quickly became my go to coffee spot even though there are at least 5 others to choose from not far off. The coffee is beautifully balanced and the food is amazing every time. The gluten free bagels here are by far the best I've ever had and I've had a few over the past 5 years. Since the internship ended I went back to my daily living closer to SDSU, I don't frequent the area as much but I make intentional trips to Java Earth just for the great coffee and even more amazing food. 10/10 would recommend this place, and do! read more

The cortado was pretty good, especially up front, but towards the the end it had a little harshness that I did not care for. The morning bun or sugar bun as the young barista referred to it was good. I stopped in because it was close and was going to get a drip coffee,, but saw not just a vanilla latte but a honey-vanilla latte and was immediately intrigued.
