The Protein Waffle (gf) and iced vanilla latte

Love this little cafe. Had the protein waffle (gluten free!), vanilla latte and the harvest toast. Impressed by their gluten free options and cute seating options. Janelle was particularly kind at the register! Just a heads up they don't have public WiFi, enjoy your food and company instead!

I thoroughly enjoyed my iced matcha latte from Parakeet Cafe. The staff was very friendly and the decor inside is so cute! It's only a few blocks away from the beach, so I'll definitely be stopping by more often!

Quaint and friendly. There is a small indoor dining option with a few more seats outside. The staff (J) greeted me with a smile. They had several vegan options, mostly savory but I did see a vegan cookie in the pastry display. The avocado toast was served on whole wheat sourdough. Absolutely beautiful. And Delicious.

Lovely service. Good food and Great coffee. Nice little outdoor sidewalk seating option. Check it out!

I got to try out Parakeet Cafe last week as part of a mystery picnic experience. It was our 2nd stop. We were able to put our order in, and the staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The person helping us even upgraded one of our drinks. The cafe is very small, and they pack in a few tables, there are some tables outside as well. There is also a very nice large restroom, that was very clean and adorned with fun pictures. The food was yummy. We got a nice salad, the dressing was tasty, and there was plenty of it. We also got 2 coffee drinks, and 2 sparking waters. It also came with a chicken sandwich and we opted for potatoes instead of another salad. We also got a Parakeet PB shortbread cookie, and a banana oat loaf with chocolate. Everything was tasty, high quality, and inside was fun and well decorated. Enjoy the photos.

Lots of breakfast options served all day and very good coffee. I actually came back here for the coffee, but was surprised to find out that they have almost 5 locations in various parts of San Diego, some having food and others not. I'm so happy to see that this place has expanded since the first time I visited in little italy

Friendly and efficient service with minimal wait. Great seating (limited) both indoors and outdoors. Tasty food (tried the Caesar salad with avocado and salmon, lemonade and chocolate croissant). Great spot to have a relaxing meal.

Had a friend recommend this place after a walk at the shores so we stopped by! We ordered the protein waffles and egg Benedict on toast to split. There is some seating inside and outside, you stand in line to order and then grab a table! The inside was a bit small but the patio seating was nice as we were able to snag a table Both items were sooo good and I'm so glad we tried both, the protein waffles had 40 grams of protein and tasted SO good, none of that protein taste. The Benedict's were so good as well, I loved the pesto and tomatoes and I typically dislike tomato Parking is typical for La Jolla but I would definitely come back again

We were visiting and looking for a lighter brunch , this very small location in upscale LaJolla was clean and inviting. Food was good, made to order. They have coffee and tea options also. It was fairly busy around 11 on a Thursday. We had green eggs, French toast and breakfast croissant sandwich. Turmeric tea and honey cinnamon latte. You can taste the fresh quality products used here. The portions are plenty-too. Directly next door is their juice shop where you can get specialty items like açaí bowls and juices. We enjoyed this spot.

Great and bright space. Outdoor and indoor seating available, Dog friendly on the outside patio. Fresh juices bottled available and next door they have a juice shop where you can get fresh juices. Food was fresh, healthy, tasty and beautiful dishes for a cafe.

That was literally one of the best breakfast I've ever had. Truly blown away. The flavors were so good. Lots of GF and Vegan options if you need it. It's a smaller place, wouldn't suggest coming here with more than 2 people. 4 max. Might not get seating unless it's a weekday. Service is very very friendly. Everyone smiling the whole time and so helpful. A++

Almond milk matcha to go. One cup without ice to drink later.

My go to when I'm back visiting SD. Parakeet Cafe enables all healthy foodies to eat delicious food without sacrificing taste and creativity. I always order the Parakeet bowl with grilled salmon. This is one of the few places that make almond milk from scratch! I highly recommend their pastries as well. To top it off the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Please open locations in Las Vegas. Shout out to Neda, Tanelle, and Maya!

Raw tuna next to turkey bacon in "sourdough" bread that is not sourdough.

I ordered a tuna sandwich from this place on delivery and they delivered a raw tuna sandwich. In the menu at this time, it does not say the tuna was raw. So gross. I had to throw it out. The Chai waferss I tried were bland wafers that felt like I was eating cardboard. The is a poser restaurant. Do not waste your money.

Does anyone know if this is a good place to study (aka do they have outlets to charge my laptop)?

If you can avoid the weekend rush, do it! For FOOD, we got: *Roasted vegetable scramble - 5/5 review, perfectly sized veggies, had a large sugar topped scone and a small cup of homemade strawberry jam (delicious) and potatoes were nicely seasoned *Southern California omelette 4/5- my husband thought it was good besides the 1 large piece of bacon wrapped in the omelette. He would have given it a better rating if the bacon was in little pieces, making it easier to eat in the omelette. *Stuffed French toast - 4/5 - the photos we saw made it look like it was stuffed with some sort of cream but it's actually stuffed with strawberries. DRINKS: Iced matcha with almond milk - nothing special, I wouldn't recommend. The server was informative that the matcha was pre-made with sweetener but it still didn't take how I expected. Coffee- they kept my husbands cup full and even left the canteen of coffee. Very nice! For parking, it's street parking only and we were lucky to have gotten a spot down the street. Vibes were beachy but the outside decor could have been spruced up a bit compared to Sugar & Scribe. Overall, I'm glad we finally checked it out. I would say it has some stiff competition with Sugar & Scribe on the sweet dishes but for the savory dishes, I really enjoyed my roasted veggie omelette.

First, while we were waiting for our table, we were told that the coffee near the check-in area was complimentary while we waited. When we were seated, we brought our coffee cups with us, only to find out later that we had been charged $5 each for our coffees. We didn't say anything, but it definitely didn't leave the best taste in our mouths. So double check your bill if you pick up a free coffee while waiting for your table. One of my favorite meals here is the risotto Benedict. It was still good, but unfortunately, it didn't taste quite as good as it normally does. After we left, my stomach was very upset, and I ended up having to make an emergency stop at the La Jolla Shores bathrooms before heading home. Our waiter was also a little slow. It took quite a while for our water to give us water after a long walk on the beach and then our bill took forever as well. On top of that, the waiter commented "Impressive" because I had finished my entire plate. I had been fasting for 24 hours, but regardless, I don't think commenting on how much a customer eats is really appropriate. It was just a little strange. Anyway, just a heads-up. I'm sure I'll come back, and hopefully everything will be back to normal and great as usual!

However, Jade ensured that we enjoyed our meal at the Shorehouse Kitchen. At brunch, my go to dish is the French toast that will tell me the quality and care from the kitchen. I was blown away at how delicious the French Toast was. The name is the "CARAMELIZED TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN FRENCH TOAST with Fresh Blueberries or Bananas and Chantilly Cream, or a Grilled Pineapple". Jade gave away the secret ingredient to me and I was impressed. An applied Maillard reaction with brown sugar brought the French Toast a new level of yumminess. The Chantilly Cream took it over the top, not to sweet and very creamy. Yum!!! Also tried the "RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MOCHA St. George Vanilla Bean Vodka. Raspberry Liqueur, Callebaut Belgian Chocolate, Espresso, Steamed Milk, Chantilly Cream" . AMAZING!!! The Shorehouse Kitchen is a gem with fantastic food and service. Definitely a return visit call for the family!!!

Please stay away, the food was unacceptable, especially for the price. I had the fish and chips. The fries tasted old, as if they had been reheated from the day before. The fish was overly battered, had no flavor, and was completely tasteless. I ate a small piece of fish and a couple of fries, but I had to stop eating because it was honestly gross. My husband ordered the steak frites and received the same fries as I did. The steak had a strange taste, and the "chimichurri"-type sauce was inedible. My husband also stopped eating his food. We let our server know that the food was not good. He asked what was wrong and then asked my husband if he had ever had Gorgonzola cheese before. I'm not sure how that was relevant, considering we had simply explained that the food did not taste good. I told the server that we were sorry we couldn't eat the food and that we were happy to pay for our drinks and appetizer, which we did. For a restaurant that charges a significant amount of money for mediocre food, you would think a manager would come to the table and ask why two guests returned their meals after barely eating them. Unfortunately, it was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. Very disappointing experience. There are plenty of better options where your money will be much better spent. Puesto! around the corner is one.

But, I decided on a 5 because, in the more than 30 years that I have been dining at the Brockton Villa, I've never had a bad meal, nor a marginal one, they've all been spot on. It's easy to enjoy the perch on the side of the hill, with an immediate view of the Cove and the further views of the Shores, Glider Port and on a clear day, Torrey Pines. What comes with that view, is the smell of nature, and on Tuesday, it was stronger. It didn't interfere with our meal. The wait staff are all friendly, experienced, and approach the table appropriately. I can't relate to a setting where the server is there every couple of minutes. I tend to eat there more for breakfast and lunch, dinners less commonly. The menu is diverse enough for 2 picky eaters to always find something fantastic. On Tuesday, I had the clam and crab chowder and it was superb. I grew up in New England, the epicenter of chowders. I am known amongst friends, for the many chowders that I make at home. The salmon BLT is a recurrent favorite, as is the basic breakfast, tweaked to your preferences, with a wide array of protein options. The family was pretty excited to try this place out and by the end of the meal, every single member of my family (all 5 people) were angry. The service was horrific. We came during lunch, they were not particularly busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. Let's start with the food. I ordered a $25 Wagyu burger and it was unseasoned. Not under seasoned, UNSEASONED. The patty was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and it was well done to a point where it was not even remotely enjoyable. This $25 burger did not come with fries, it came with a very small bowl of salad that had no salad dressing. The wrap my wife ordered was mediocre and lacking any flavor. The shrimp inside was good but everything else was bland. The one thing that was good was the seafood chowder. It was excellent. Very flavorful and rich. The best tasting thing at our table were the children's tater tots and the clam chowder to be very honest. Now onto the service. The service is arguably worse than the food. The waiter looked annoyed to take our order but what is egregiously worse than that is that in our entire time sitting there eating our food for more than 45 minutes, our server (or any member of the wait staff) literally did NOT come back once to check on us or ask us if the dishes were good or to give anyone water refills (we ordered a coke and that was not refilled the entire meal). I want to reiterate, we literally did not get a refill of our waters or the coke we ordered 1 time the entire meal. Our waters were empty 10 minutes into the food arriving but because no member of the wait staff came by to check on us, we resorted to drinking out the water bottles we brought ourselves. We tried to flag down a member of the wait staff 3 times and after, my wife just said 'let's just try to get out of here as soon as possible. This is ridiculous'. I also want to be clear, we were not in a separate room or in the corner, the door of the restaurant was visible, the bar where they serve alcohol was visible from our table. The wait staff just chose not to check on us and ignore our hands in the air trying to flag them down. They came after more than an hour to drop off the check without saying anything to us or ask about how the food was. We were so angry by that point we did not even bother to ask for a refill of water or coke. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
