Our party of 14 had an absolutely delightful experience at Rose's Garden Bar! From the moment I walked in, we saw the extensive bar which led us to a dark hallway and into a beautiful garden area. The service was exceptional; our server was attentive without being intrusive and made excellent recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes. The food was delightfully unique. Persian food influences, with a fusion twist, there is a little of everything for everyone. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the truffle wagyu burger, which was a standout; perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. We addes the duck confit fries to our order which made our meal even more decadent. The other top notch meal was the braised lamb which was the house special. Large portion and complex with delicious flavors. The fried chicken waffles are stacked tall and is a tower of crispiness. The kale and cesear salads have fresh ingredient and perfectly dressed. I also appreciated the attention to detail in accommodating dietary preferences, ensuring everyone in our group had an amazing experience. I can't wait to return and try more of their menu! I'm glad I came to check this place out for girls night out. It's located at the corner of The Summit and it's cute but not a repeat type of place to come back to. I thought the size of the dishes were small and the price on the expensive side. The duck confit fries were good but skimpy on the duck - don't bother with this dish because it's all fries and green garnish. The cacio e pepe was not a hit - go to a Italian resturant for this item. I also did not like the eggplant starter with pita bread - not appetizing and the portion was very small. The salmon was presented beautifully and was good. The truffle burger was good as well and the kale salad was fresh. We ordered drinks and they were good. Desserts were good, again on the small side but no complaints in terms of taste for the ube cheesecake, rose panna cotta, and creme brulee. Overall, for a bill that's over $300 with a 20% tip, for a party of 3, we usually are stuffed and have food to go. At this place, we barley could share an entree or dessert cause the portion sizes were so tiny. Every dish was presented artistically and the place is rose themed throughout so it lives up to its name. Met up with a friend here that has a black pepper allergy and they were so nice in accommodating & making sure she had a good meal too. They modified the kale-abasas salad and she loved it! I got the beet & burrata salad which was delicious but a little small. I was glad I added the chicken to fill it out better. My husband got the wagyu truffle burger which was fantastic. He also upgraded to have duck fries on the side, but not sure if those were worth the $9. Next time we'll stick to regular fries. Love the outdoor patio & how it's tucked away so it's not directly looking at the parking lot or Main Street. This place is GORGEOUS! It is honestly a IG lovers paradise with the photo ready backdrops and neon signs spread about. The food is both bougie but also delicious! I've dined here twice and really enjoyed both visits. Can't wait to return. The last visit, we spotted Chef Obed Mark on the patio reviewing the menu with another employee. From start to finish, you will love this place! We made last minute dinner reservations on Mother's Day because we weren't sure we were going to go to dinner after a busy day. Called to make sure they had availability and was assured they could take us for 7. I assume it was Rose who answered and was so sweet! Arrived for our reservation and were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who took us to our table. Everyone we encountered smiled and were just so kind. Our waiter was Hudson, and he was so patient but thorough and just a genuinely cool guy. He had no problem answering our questions, smiled with every interaction, and was really helpful. We did the prixe fix menu for Mother's Day and OMG! We scarfed down everything! Especially the Persian snack (goat cheese, a balsamic glaze, etc). The pita bread was SO soft and so fresh that it needed to cool down before we could eat. My baby even loved it! The drinks were perfect! Such an interesting twist to a bourbon cocktail. I did have a small issue with my spare rib not being very warm, but it was SOOO good that I couldn't help but to start eating. And I don't even eat red meat! It was THAT good. When Hudson, our waiter, came to check on us, I mentioned it and he insisted that he get me another. I hate to cause issues for the kitchen so I was honestly just going to deal, but I finally agreed and it came out piping hot and even prettier than the first. I wish I had taken a picture of all of our food. We were stuffed! I didn't want to leave. I'm so thrilled we found this Calabasas gem! So many photos ops in there too because the decor is beautiful! I opted for the Kids burger which is HUGE PORTION wise. $16 burger that big and juicy was 100x's better than any In N Out burger. Beer choices were good, I had the Anderson valley Brown/Red Ale on Tap and it was great after a day of hiking around Malibu. The food is good and the menu is diverse but the ambience alone makes this one of my favorite places to go. So many cute photo ops and perfect for girls night out date night or a birthday dinner like I had. The food...Ashley helped us decide on the Persian Chick and chicken and waffles. Both were really tasty. We ordered duck fries to start and they were delicious. For dessert we shared the panna cotta. It was just ok. We also had a few cocktails that were good. Ok, back to the actual restaurant. It's kind if tucked away in a shopping center adjacent to a medspa. Although it is on the patio, it is cute. There's a lot of seating space. We went on a Sunday, during brunch. It was crowded, like i mentioned there were two parties, and still available seats. I thought this would just be a cute place that everyone goes to just because it's cute but has mediocre food. NOPE, it's cute, has good food and great service. I would recommend. We came to this spot with our pup to check out their brunch. Parking is free, convenient and shared with all the shops in the shopping area. We were welcomed by the staff and got seated in their nicely decorated patio area with our pup. I was pleasantly surprised to see a dog menu option. We started with a mimosa flight and all the juices tasted fresh. The Ube latte was a nice caffeine boost with a soft taste of Ube. For appetizer we started with the duck fries and they are so good! Not greasy, good amount sauce and not too salty. Our pup ordered the chicken with vegetables and destroyed the bowl before I had the chance to finish my coffee. Came on a Friday night. The food was good but this place is not what it used to be. Our server was some blonde chick . Very inattentive. Waited forever just to get seated when we had a reservation. She said she was going to get our table ready but I saw she went to the back to mingle with the bartenders. (Bar was completely empty) finally someone else noticed us and seated us. Absolutely loved my visit to this restaurant! I came here today with a friend around 1 pm since we were early for an event we were heading to. To start off, the decor and aesthetics of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. From the walls, the lights around the restaurant, to even the plates and forks on the table were super cute. We sat on the patio which has an airy feel. Service was wonderful as well. Our server Bryce was so friendly and helpful on the menu. It's pretty extensive but he was great in giving recommendations. He was also really attentive which we appreciated. For drinks, I ordered the raspberry bourbon sour which was absolutely delicious. For food, we shared the fries trio but it was one of the best things I have ever tasted. The fries were fried to perfection and the seasonings they used, ramen, Parmesan and original were so good. Due to the flavoring, I didn't even feel as if I needed to pair it with anything else. For dessert, we ordered the fried Oreos and requested a scoop of ice cream on the side. Came in on a Saturday night around 8 pm on our last night in town. Was surprised at how not busy it was. We sat on the patio. There were about 10 -12 other tables. The beet salad was sooo good. It had plenty of beets, the dressing light and fresh, a few pomegranate seeds, the prefect flavor profile. Would totally order it again! The different lemonades I tried were really good: lavender, hibiscus and rose. The lavender was my favorite, followed by rose and hibiscus. Had a small girls night here with a couple friends and when I walked in, I was blown away by how cute it was!!! I didn't go inside but the patio seating was perfect. It was green, leaves, flowers, and the perfect vibes. We sat down and our waiter came by and brought us water and took our order for drinks, then apps, then food. Very cute spot!!! I had to stop by! Yelp lead me here. My friend and I arrived when it was completely empty around 4pm. Apparently, their brunch rush had just left and they expected another rush for dinner. It's a very pretty spot with times of silk flowers and artificial greenery. Food prices are expensive and so are mixed drinks. We got burgers with fries for $16 which isn't terribly expensive but that was the most affordable dish on the menu. I got it medium rare as it was fresh good quality meat otherwise I'd get it well done. I got a beer for $6 which is a fair price. Service was awesome! We enjoyed our time there. I wish I would've had time to take some cute pics but I was on a time crunch. I had a concert in a few hours! I will def be back for dinner but def on the pricier side so that sure I'd go often. We had a rather large party of 9 so it was impressive that our service was smooth throughout the meal and the ambiance was pleasant and chill. The decorations and set up around the outdoor patio was amazing and felt very inviting and open. I ordered the Persian toast, and was slightly disappointed with the presentation and taste of the toast. It was slightly bland and the plate was pretty empty besides the piece of bread. Also, what makes it Persian? It had nothing specific that made it Persian to me. For $25, I expected more from the toast. The decor is beautiful, I only wish we could've been sat in the midst of the whimsical space rather than in the farthest corner of the patio that was right in front of the kitchen doors (witnessed a few shattered glasses and lots of dialogue of wonder which table ordered what) The food was fantastic. The Wagyu burger is their best seller and I can see why. It wasn't overwhelming with the truffle and the texture of the meat (I ordered medium) came out beautifully. The potatoes were the real star in my opinion. What is that seasoning?! I need it on everything. The drinks are very aesthetic. The ultra rose tasted like a grape seltzer rather than a fine Prosecco cocktail but it was well worth the edible glitter magic. The baked truffle Brie bread was AMAZING. I wish the bread wasn't so overdone on one end (pictured) but the honeycomb and Brie combination was divine. I was really excited to try this spot based on all of the raving reviews. Unfortunately it was windy outside and their indoor accommodations are minimal to non existent so I wouldn't recommend coming here unless the weather is favorable and you're good to sit outside. We were basically in an office room with another table who were either really loud or maybe just the small space amplified their conversations. It wasn't ideal ambiance wise at all, so just a poor start to our experience. It was difficult to have a conversation without hearing the other table and they were there for the full 1.5 hours we were. We ordered the truffle Brie bread for an appetizer, which was okay but for $49 hoped to be really impressed. We weren't. Then we went with the social lunch which was a good value, 2 courses and dessert. I had the Persian snack which was great, pita was fresh and soft and good flavor in the goat cheese with balsamic. Then the salmon which I would recommend as well. So food wise 2/3 were hits. Drinks were disappointing. Between the 2 of us, we had the Tom-a-Rita, not great, the espresso martini which was half full and mediocre, then the Fun weekends which had way too much watermelon to the point it wasn't even drinkable. We left 2/3rds of it at the table. Overall, for almost a $300 lunch for 2 of us, disappointing. On a positive side, service was very good, attentive, quick and accommodating. Nestled in a quiet part of Calabasas and away from The Commons is an unassuming exterior front with a somewhat pixelated vinyl print of a dancer adhered to the window. I'm trying to find out the story of this place and what it means. Nevertheless... the magic happens upon entering the narrow space which is a cozy bar, espresso contraption, and wide velour couch. The lights are slightly dim to set the mood. We were led to the main dining area past a black corridor with neon lit writing with roses. Finally, the dsei enclosed dining room opens up with plenty of natural light. The wrought iron chairs and marble tables tied the rose theme quite nicely. We were able to see the outdoor seating as well. Though it was too cold to eat outside, when it gets warmer, they plan on having live entertainment. Ok... moving on! The staff was friendly and amazing. I forgot our server's... maybe Ashly? She recently moved here. I really liked her. Very genuine and nice. We really loved the big mugs with our coffee and cappuccino! It brought us back to "Friends" in their one an only favorite coffee shop... before SB sprawled. From the weekend brunch menu, I encourage you to try the Duck & Waffle special. Loved the taste! The waffles was just slightly on the dense side. But that's just my opinion. We also ordered the Breakfast Pizza which was tasty. Overall, price wise... it's fair considering you are dining in Calabasas and close to Westlake Village. You also enjoy not being too close to The Commons (Westlake / Calabasas) which can get very congested. We plan to go back in about a week. This time for dinner... lots of choices there! We went to Rose's for a belated Valentines dinner. It was both of our first time to Roses and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. For an appetizer we got the Truffle Salmon Crudo. I love truffle more then the regular person but I'm still aware it can be overdone, and this truffle dish was perfectly balanced, if anything a tiny bit more of the lime caviar would be amazing. It was. 8/10 For our mains we got the Persian Plate (with two beef kebabs) and the burrata salad. The Persian plate was an absolute end game. Amazing flavors and textures 9/10 the only thing that could be better is the flatbread. The burrata salad was great, though could use a bit more acid. The desserts were next level jaw dropping. We struggled to make decisions, but we ended on the Creme brûlée, and the rose water panna cotta. Both of which were awe inspiring, definitely would be the highlight of the night... except Hudson our server stole the show! I was struggling with cocktail choices with the lack of familiar choices and Hudson went above and beyond to make sure I would be happy with my drink choices. Overall will be returning. Came here with my friend in November for a Thursday night dinner, I wasn't sure what to expect... first off the restaurant is in the shopping where Erewhon is and the restaurant is completely outdoors only. At first glance, I really enjoyed the atmosphere! It really takes you to a different place and you forget where you are. Food wise... wonderful flavors! My friend and I shared the Truffle House Burger and the Alaskan Scallops. The Alaskan Scallops: Cooked nicely, great flavors and I really enjoyed the butternut squash puree! However, for $38, it's a bit steep. The Truffle House burger: Liked the subtleties of the truffle flavor. However, I actually liked the fries the best! The fries were more of quartered potato slices and they were cooked perfectly! The cost was $28, which I also felt it was a little steep for the dish, however at least the portions were more practical given the cost. As others have mentioned they did replace the terrible paper napkins (they were pretty bad). Drinks: We only had the Good Ol' Fashion, which was enjoyable! I did try and order two other drinks, however they were out of whatever was needed to make the drinks (you don't see that often). We were also going to order wine; however, the glasses I saw coming out were barely filled a 1/3rd of the way! Service/Staff: The staff was on point, beyond friendly and super helpful! Since seating is outdoors only, they were constantly providing and turning on the heaters (thankfully they had plenty to go around!). As we left, one of the waiters wished us a safe drive as it had been slightly raining outside (young guy... it's the little things that make you feel that people care). Short version: kind of confusing, food is just so-so but pricey, and they have pictures on the menu (eek!). So we walked in the front door but they're apparently not using it as a front door; the "actual" entrance is what looks like two businesses down but no signage on the front door indicating that. There's a hostess stand outside to the outdoor-only seating area. It felt a bit weird. As we walked in, we were greeted in a very friendly manner by someone behind what looked like the bar, but no seating there. We were handed off to a gentleman who would "give us the tour" and take us to the outdoor seating area. He was also super friendly. As we walked, he pointed out the med-spa rooms on either side, as well as the restrooms. Um, why are there med-spa rooms in a restaurant?!?! I was too stunned to ask him, lol. We arrive to our table and, as many have said, the outdoor area is pretty gorgeous. I mean, there are A LOT of flower decor, true to their name, but it's an over-the-top beautiful area with roses everywhere and chandeliers galore! Janelle was our server and she, like everyone else was super nice. So, the menu has pictures on it, which is usually a bad sign, I've found. We started with cocktails. They didn't have some of the ingredients for one of the cocktails on the menu (which I found odd; they haven't been open long enough to run out, but I guess they did), so I ordered the Fun Weekends. Like another reviewer said, maybe a bit watered-down, not enough liquor in it, but it was tasty. Jim G. got the Old Fashioned. Both were $18. We inquired about wine, as we didn't see any on the drinks list and Janelle said that they do have it and she can tell us all the brands and types if we'd like, since they didn't have a menu with that info. We politely declined. Surprised to see how opulent the area was, but we were given small paper napkins. The menu seemed all over the place, food-wise. There were Mediterranean and Middle Eastern items, standard "American" salads and dishes, Italian items, etc. Can't tell what identity they are going for, other than expensive. We weren't feeling the vibe, the menu, the prices, etc., so we decided to just order two appetizers and be on our way. We had the Charred Avocado Salad ($16) and the Yellowtail Crudo ($25). Both were just ok. The Avocado wasn't all that charred and the surrounding salad was just ho-hum. The Crudo contained not as much fish as you might expect for that price (more radish than fish), the yellowtail itself was just ok (not as fresh-tasting as I'd like), and the whole dish was drowned in the sauce. After spending almost $100 for a mediocre meal, we went elsewhere and paid less for more that was better. The good news is that everyone is super friendly, the atmosphere definitely has a fun element to it, and the owners clearly put a lot of money in the place. Rose's recently opened so take that into consideration. Hopefully they work through some things. The main entrance is not under the sign and front door. Go around the side to enter the patio. If you go in through the door you walk past the bar and spa massage rooms. Yes, massage rooms, a little odd. Janel our server was helpful. They did not have a wine list. Looks like they have all menus now on their website. It's been said in other reviews but upgraded napkins are a must. The patio was inviting and I was hopeful that the food and drinks would match the upscale feel. I had the old fashioned. Started with a classic to see if $18 worthy. Nothing really special for the price and way too sweet. Maybe more interesting garnish, bacon, or smoked orange rind? We stared with two appetizers but didn't go beyond that since we were not inspired. The yellowtail was missing in action. Not much of it, and what was there was drowning in sauce. If you don't like fish this dish is for you! The charred avocado was not really charred and very little dressing. The lettuce was good but needed more dressing, some seasoning/salt, something. Maybe worth a try but I would hold off until they refine some things and make some tweaks. read more
