Me and my party at five came here for a friend's birthday and we really enjoyed our dinner. We started off with some drinks and appetizers. We got complementary bread and butter, very basic but . We ordered the guac, the portion of the guac was good but we got a very small portion of chips. They did offer us another side when we finished what we had. I ordered the shrimp with zucchini noodles and wow, this was so delicious. It was packed with flavor and had a little bit of spice to it as well. Perfect if you're looking for a lower carb option, I'd come back for these alone! To drink, I got the bar flower and it was sweet and strong! Overall, a perfect place for a date night, birthday dinner or dinner with friends.

We had Mother's Day dinner at Porta Via last night. We had a super small table even though the booth was large enough for five adults. Service was very good and our servers all wished us Happy Mother's Day which was very thoughtful. We sat outside on the patio as Murphy the Doodle and Rocky J. Squirrel the Bijan, joined us for dinner. We had the Cobb Salad that was very good, although there was barely any chicken in it. I counted four tiny pieces and would have liked more. The skirt steak was very tender and juicy and my husband and son-in-law really liked it. We also had the burger and the Shrimp pasta. This is a great place for a casual dinner.

Came here for brunch on a nice sunny day and sitting outside was so nice with the decor. We ordered the Porta via scramble, the neapolitan omelet, matcha latte, and 2 juices (morning do and the triangle). I did not like the Porta via scramble. It was very bland for my taste and I could not take more than a couple of bites. The potatoes and the baguette (yes the carbs) were definitely better. The condiments for the bread were ssoo good. The neapolitan omelet with the burrata?! That was and made up for the blandness of the other one. I do wish there was more of the toppings though. Because the burrata is a strong cheese, it needed more tomatoes and avocado. The matcha was not strong enough for me and it didn't feel like there was enough caffeine in it so I was disappointed. The juices were much better! I ordered for the Morning Do for myself and I could easily have more of it. I'm not a huge carrot in my drink fan so I cannot speak about the triangle. The server was nice and was chatting with the regulars in between checking on their customers, it was cool seeing the sense of community

We came here for a birthday, because the nearby restaurant we wanted to go to had an extremely long wait. I remember when this place used to be Johnny Rockets, has a complete remodel now, the ambiance is really nice here. We sat out in the patio, and honestly, the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't something that was extremely memorable. Service was good, when we mentioned, we had a birthday, we got a little sweet treat. I ordered the Seabass and the sauce that came with. It was pretty good. I was happy that the asparagus was fresh. Everyone else got pasta, which in my opinion tasted pretty mediocre. It's not the first place that I would think of coming back to, but if I ended up here again, it would be OK.

Porta Via Calabasas has a fantastic location on the corner of the Calabasas Commons shopping center. Great vibe inside that's good for a nice dinner together or a swanky brunch or birthday place. Very pleasant and the decor is beautiful and just really works. Super inviting in the day or at night. The food was excellent as well. A tiny bit pricey but pretty standard for this area. I really enjoyed the guacamole and pasta. Both were fresh and savory and the salad and sweet potato fries were also very well made too. Everything was delicious, just a tiny bit smaller than I anticipated but I had fun eating it all up. I will definitely be back when I'm looking for a nice meal out in Calabasas.

Filet that was suppose to be medium

I've been to Porta Via a handful of times, and it's usually been just okay. I went again today with a friend for brunch/lunch, and unfortunately the experience didn't justify the prices. We started with the guacamole, which was very underwhelming. It tasted like plain avocado with little to no seasoning or additional ingredients. For my entrée, I ordered the filet mignon medium, but it came out closer to medium-well and lacked seasoning. My friend ordered the Porta Via Scramble and felt it was bland as well. The drinks were also disappointing. A mocktail costs $17, which feels excessive. I tried the Cali Cleanse and found it unpleasant. The one highlight of the meal was the apple crumble dessert, which was delicious. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly, but she appeared to be handling a lot of tables, so service was slower than expected. Overall, the food was basic, under-seasoned, and overpriced. While I've given this restaurant several chances, I don't think I'll be returning.

Kale & quinoa salad with added chicken (front) Chicken stir fry with brown rice (right) Kale & quinoa salad with salmon (rear)

My first visit to Porta Via was on Mother's Day, so the restaurant was quite busy and noisy, but the food was delicious. I had the kale and quinoa salad with chicken added. My daughter had the kale and quinoa salad with salmon added. My mother had the chicken stir fry. My salad was good, but was a little bland, it could have used more lemon or vinegar. Adding chicken for $7 made it a bit more filling. The carmelized shallots on top really elevated the taste along with grapefruit slices and shaved Parmesan. I would recommend this salad. The "Porta via salad" also looked good. I might try that next time adding shrimp. The salmon my daughter added was delicious, with char grill marks. My mother said the stir fry was mild and she asked for some chili sauce or chili peppers to give it more flavor; however, it was loaded with fresh vegetables and chunks of chicken. The tables are comfortable and the atmosphere would be relaxing if I hadn't gone on such a busy day. I really liked the decor, the service, and the general seating of the restaurant, inside and out. One problem is that the restaurant is in the Calabasas commons (in the old Johnny rockets space) where a tremendous amount of construction is going on, so unfortunately a lot of the parking spaces are not available. I dropped my party and the restaurant and it took me at least 10 more minutes to get a space completely on the other side of the lot. Hopefully parking will loosen up once they finish some of the construction in fall 2026. All in all I would return to Porta Via.

Lasagne al Forno

This was a nice place. Servers were slammed so orders took a while to come out, including drinks. The mussels are a must-try. The lasagna was also delicious, but was missing something. The spaghetti, I would not get again. I think for the flavor, this place was slightly overpriced.

Grilled branzino with asparagus
James H. L.

Chose this one because of its convenient location within the Calabasas Commons. Indoor seating was great for a catch-up lunch reunion on a Friday. All the food was delicious from the excellent burrata and heirloom tomato basil salad, to their fried calamari rings, and we split a grilled branzino with asparagus. Affogato was also a nice ending with quite nice french vanilla gelato and a perfect espresso. Service was also excellent. The outside is wonderful, and heated by many patio heaters, but is relatively open air, so if it's breezy, it will get cold. Inside is cozy and light-filled as they use french doors throughout. Noise level is average once filled to capacity, but easy enough to carry on a conversation without shouting. Very accessible, though ADA parking is quite limited to only a few spaces along the front edge of the walking mall.

While other friends have been here we never have, and when a friend wanted to celebrate her birthday dinner here we said sure and 12 of us showed up to celebrate. We were able to sit outdoors (the reservations were at 5) and it was comfortable. As the evening progressed they brought a heater out for each end of our table. We ordered 9 different dishes and everyone enjoyed their food. I had a Grilled Ora King Salmon and really enjoyed it and my wife really enjoyed her chopped beet salad with shrimp. Having a good server with this many people at a table can sometimes be a challenge, but Taylor was fantastic, a 10-star for sure. She was friendly, talkative, made sure we got the right orders for example no dairy, no chips but substitute sweet potato fries (which were delicious. Food prices aren't cheap here, but nobody complained as everyone enjoyed their food.

You can't beat the ambiance, location, and service with this place. I didn't really have to wait too long, and the quality of food was fairly decent. My cocktail could have been better, since it was over powered with ice and very little alcohol. But overall, it was a good experience

Yes it is good! You can eat inside or outside, the location is wonderful and the service is prompt and attentive. Of course the ambiance is pleasant and uplifting in part because of the sunshine and the surroundings. Another bonus is that if you keep your eyes open then you may well see celebrities - indeed the last time that we were here we saw Scottie Pippen having lunch here with who I thought was his daughter (but the Daily Mail was there, got pics and shared that it was his girlfriend! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11781757/Scottie-Pippen-57-younger-mystery-woman-ex-wife-Larsa-dates-Michael-Jordans-son-Marcus.html So all in all a good experience- and yes of course we will be back!! the bestie and i came here for saturday brunch. rez were made online, super easy! we were not far from the restaurant so we made it for the soonest time available porta via calabasas is located in the commons. the restaurant is located on the corner. we checked in with the hostess, initially we opted to sit outside, asked for the heat lamp, but it was still a bit breezy for us. we asked to be sat inside, there was no issue our waiter was nice, he followed us inside to see if we were okay and to take our order, but we weren't ready first off, the restaurant is beautiful! i felt like i was away on some european vacay for a quick minute. the tables at their main patio was full! once we moved tables to the inside, we were never greeted or approached by the female server. the server just kept speaking in a volume where we could clearly hear her, "did they just get sat from somewhere else?" , twice. the inside was smaller, she had maybe 3 tables to cater to. i guess this is their thing, bc the table next to us were complaining as well, they have two menus, so instead of giving each person 2 menus, each of us got different menus, one for brunch/breakfast and the other was lunch. they staff never mentioned anything..it wasn't til we were discuss what we were going to order when we both were like, that is not on my menu!! the waiter from outside ended up coming back in to take our order we ordered: FRENCH OMELET 18 MUSHROOM, HERBS, GOAT CHEESE ROASTED POTATOES, BAGUETTE TOAST HUEVOS RANCHEROS 17 CRISPY TORTILLAS, TWO EGGS OVER EASY, AVOCADO BLACK BEAN PUREE, CHEDDAR CHEESE, RANCHERO SALSA the food IMO was bland. def needed some seasoning. the potatoes were dry we never got refills on our waters we actually never got checked on after our food was delivered we had to signal to get our check, that is when the female server actually greeted us! parking: located in the commons at calabasas. so tons of parking and there is tesla chargers towards the back!

Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. Great food, great service, and a restaurant I'll absolutely be back to.

Though it's the more casual offshoot of Water Grill, King's retains a sleek decor and top-flight service, and you definitely get an excellent experience for your buck. In fact, cocktails are a good few dollars less here than at other places in the area, especially Blvd Steak right next door. My martini was very cold, well-made and of a very generous size, so no complaints on that front at all. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Halibut, with a double dose of starch: mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese. The fish was fresh, meaty and nicely cooked, with a juicy interior and a very flavorful crust. The potatoes also had good flavor, but I found the mac & cheese to be wanting -- a bit too much like the packaged variety. However, my wife really liked it, so what do I know?! For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Louie Salad, a very generously portioned bowl of greens and assorted chopped veggies plus avocado, onion, hard boiled eggs and cool, poached shrimp, all topped with a Louie dressing. Everything was fresh as could be, the shrimp tasted terrific, and the avocado was a nice foil for the onion and chopped carrots. It was a very enjoyable entree salad. Service was friendly and attentive from 2 different bartenders, and it turned out to be a very satisfying, impromptu Saturday date night for a couple of no-longer-kids!

Again- I've used my personal fork poking all 6 shrimp as well as touching one with my fingers. Waiter comes back with said SAME SHRIMP. The f'ing chef just threw them back on the grill and they brought them back out to me. Waiter says very proudly 'he tossed them back on, should be to your liking now' Me: he tossed the same shrimp back on the grill??? Proud waiter: YUP! It felt like only about 5% of the bowl was tuna, so they really skimped on the main ingredient. The lobster roll was also lacking in lobster, and the bread-to-lobster ratio was way off. The service was equally disappointing. Our server forgot to put in our drink order, and I had to remind her, even though the restaurant wasn't busy.
