Came back and updating my review. Would give this 4.5 stars overall. Again, tiny no frills place…read morethat satisfies your appetite with a homey diner feel. I tried ordering a 1/4 fretta (ended up receiving and getting charged for 1/2) and my husband ordered a burger with chips (ended up receiving and getting charged for fries), both were no big deal but seemed slightly like a way to add a few more dollars to the bill. Portions are large and satisfying and it is a great breakfast place to go with small groups. The fretta was filling and tasty, burger was also cooked well with no complaints.

Sadly, a train didn't go by but it is hard to fault the diner for that. It has a compact footprint with about a half-dozen booths and some chairs at the bar/grill. I counted at least seven employees while we were there and they all were working hard. They were friendly, though busy. I ordered a burger and fries, my wife had a cold tuna sandwich, and my son had pancakes. My burger was very greasy and not cooked as I ordered it but it was good. It started to fall apart upon picking it up (the lettuce and tomato weren't helping matters) and I resorted to a fork and knife. The fries were very good. My wife ordered her sandwich twice and they still didn't get it correct, though they took care of it on the bill (which we weren't expecting). The pancakes were thick and chewy, but I really liked them and wish I had ordered them instead. Considering the staff walked place our booth at least 20 times during our visit I was never offered a refill, and we were only checked on once. Perhaps they expect you to complain if you need something. I dunno, but I hope to be back sometime in the future when the trains are running. Note: at 1:45 we were leaving and they dumped a ton of onions on the grill to cook. No idea who was going to eat them, but perhaps that is how they get customers out at closing time!

I sat at the counter and my server was great... very friendly and happy I was there. I got there around 7:30AM and it was basically dead, but by the time I left, there was a steady line of folks coming in. Their menu has all the typicals that these places have, many things I enjoy. I tried their corned beef hash (which I requested well-done with jalapeños added), scrambled eggs with cheese, and I also got a side of their breakfast potatoes with sausage gravy on top. The food came out quickly and was piping hot & freshly made. The quantity of potatoes for a single side dish were HUGE! Definitely enough to share. The scrambled eggs were PERFECTLY made! I'm an egg snob, I never want any over-cooked egg visible (no brown) and these were perfectly colored and tasted great. The corned beef hash was good as well. Overall, I enjoyed this visit and I would most definitely return!

I got the sausage gravy over home fries for the first time and I have never had anything like it - it was warm and salty and had a nice crunch with the cooked home fries. The pancakes were obviously delicious as well. We got helped right away by an amazing server and our food was out within 15 minutes! There were a lot of people but the noise level was great and everyone seemed to be having a yummy and amazing time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, everything looks so adorable and clean and they also have a little merch area! There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a moderate but fast moving line that started at the door. We ordered a regular oat milk latte, an iced matcha latte and also grabbed one of their $1 "day old cookies" they had out. My husband said the oat milk latte had a great espresso to milk ratio and the "day old" banana split cookie did not taste stale at all and was delicious. My matcha was a bit on the lighter/mild side for the matcha taste and I'd probably get something different next time as their specialty drinks looked really tasty. I'm excited to have tried Cafe Blue and will definitely visit again!

I asked for no ice and ordered the large, I paid $10.80. When I received the drink it was a small with ice. I told the cashier that I ordered a large and she in turn said she accidentally put it in as a small. I asked her why the small cost so much - her reply is that I was charged an extra $2.00 for no ice! They did remake my coffee with no ice. They are charging their customers $2.00 for no ice and not informing the customer of this extra cost. Morally ridiculous!

I didn't realize they had a different menu for lunch and dinner so I was pleasantly surprised to see some new options than what I am used to. I had an espresso martini with peanut butter cold foam and I wish I could taste the pb but still delicious. My friend and I both ordered chicken and the pieces were huge and so delicious!! We had a reservation for a Friday night and i'm glad we did because the place was packed, which it normally is! We were even 15 mins late and they were super nice about it and had no problem keeping our table for us. All the staff are very friendly and can give an answer to any question on the menu very quickly. I really do like everything about the preserve and will keep coming back! It's the main side on half of the menu items. The artwork is really nice. It took 45 minutes to get an appetizer....not sure how that happens, as they were not that busy and there is literally 15 people back in the kitchen. I waited 30 minutes for food and figured I would work on this review for the next 15 minutes while I still wait for salads. My wings that I ordered did not get made until the server realized they were not coming. The salads were good, kids complimented a salad! The wings were good too, kids enjoyed those. They adjusted the bill for the delay to their credit. Probably will never come here again but the staff works really hard in the front of the house.
