I highly recommend Rosie's for a number of reasons! We took our two grandkids here who are 3 and 5, and they loved their pancakes! The waitress was very quick to take our orders for the kids so by the time all hands were washed, their food was already on the table! Our meals were delicious as well and very plentiful! The decor in the cafe kept our grandkids busy as well as the crayons and paper! You can't go wrong if you decide to dine here! read more

Stood there, ignored, for at least 10 minutes waiting to be seated; at 6pm on a weeknight. Last Wednesday 5/20 to be exact. Such a Bummer. My dad was in ICU and we were taking my mom out to dinner. You could shoot a cannon in there it was so empty. Bridge Tender was a much better choice. read more

The restaurant is centrally located in Tahoe City. We stopped in for breakfast this past week during our visit to the North Shore. The rustic decor adds to the charm. Our server was friendly and attentive. I did order my eggs over easy and they showed up to the table overcooked. They wanted to know if that was OK. NO, that is not what I ordered and sent them back. Friends and I stopped in here for a quite bit, the plague doctor next to the front was a huge surprised - they definitely were into the Halloween mood ... I almost wished we were here around Halloween! We did come in for a late lunch, was seated pretty quickly. It was quite a sunny day when we came in so to have a puddle of water under our table was a surprised, was probably a spill that was missed during clean up. There's a lot of little trinkets, bikes and random decor that keeps it interesting looking around. The older gentleman that took our order did seem a bit dismissive to us, but at least our orders were taken and arrived after a bit. We had to eat quickly as the wait was a bit longer than we expected. Most of us got burgers and they were just decent simple burgers, the fries that came with it were very salty though. It did need a few smacks to try to shake some salt off each bite. As for the burgers, they were a little soggy - but overall decent normal burgers. Sandwich was as we would expect. As for the side salads... we were a bit confused that the cucumbers were warm on the salad. I initially thought it was warm because it was against the burger... but no, it was just 2 slices of warm cucumber on the salad. That was certainly strange, but negligible to be set aside from the salad. Final Thoughts: Prices are fairly decent and such. It was a decent quick lunch, but nothing too noteworthy overall. This is a classic Lake Tahoe diner and worth stopping by! The food is delicious and they have lots of options to satisfy most people. Their Bloody Mary is also really good! It has a really cool old school vibe inside and it makes you feel right at home. Our waiter was super nice and helped us decide what to get. The food was great and large, but glad we had Rosie to share it with. Came here with my dear friend and to my amazement, the food was superb! I ordered an omelette with jack cheese, mushrooms, spinach and sausage, sour dough toast and crispy hash browns. The food was fresh and tasty. My friend had the eggs Benedict which she enjoyed immensely! We had to try the strawberry shortcake and it was literally the best I've ever had! The service was great, we were seated immediately, our order taken and it food arrived in a timely manner. The ambiance is very unique and fun! Lots to see! I highly recommend Rosie's cafe and personally i look forward to my next meals here because i plan on going back as often as possible! read more

We were in Tahoe City and stopped into Rosie's Cafe around 1pm for lunch. I had high hopes, especially after seeing the picture of the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich on the menu. Unfortunately, we were informed that they had already run out of their rolls for sandwiches (it wasn't yet 1:15pm) and they would instead be able to make any of the sandwiches on one of their breads. I popped over to Fat Cat's Bar & Grill (a couple of doors away) to check out the place and met someone leaving there who has eaten at both restaurants. He indicated that Fat Cat's was the better choice. So, we decided to leave Rosie's. On the positive side, the server was most understanding and didn't charge us for the one Arnold Palmer she had already served. read more

This place has been a stalwart eatery for me since the early 80's when I was a college student in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe was a frequent visitor to the area. My classmate buddy's family had and still has a condo in Incline Village and Rosie's was a fun drive as a breakfast destination, even in the dregs of those college hangovers, but when you're young, even those were worth it. And so, Rosie's was always a welcomed treat in the morning, some cups of coffee and a hearty meal, perhaps before hitting the slopes or going back to the condo to, what else?...go back to sleep. Perhaps it wasn't just that the food was consistently good, but the ambience, the reliability of it being there and the memories throughout the years, this is a personal legacy place. And on this visit, with all the vintage decorative junk all over the place, this isn't just a food place to me, it's a place where a whole lot of youth happened, my middle ages and it continues on as I enter my senior years. Anbience- lots of bicycles, and I like that, but not a fan of decorating the walls with the remains of animals killed for little or no reason. We came on a Friday brunch and there was a large table sat ahead of us. But don't think that stopped the service - our server was quick and attentive and so friendly. Food was amazing! We started with the strawberry shortcake (great starter!!) Then we had the French toast, locomoco, chorizo scramble and cinnamon raisin bread and a tamale. EVERYTHING was delicious. Another server was so rude to the party who had their dog. Dogs are allowed so you'd think she would be kinder about it. Last time I was in Lake Tahoe about 9 years ago I eat breakfast at Rosie's and it was amazing, 9 years later they are still amazing. We had a terrible dinner at the "fancy restaurant with a water view" and I left there without eating. And I knew the only place I was going to save my dinner and it was Rosie's. The staff are friendly and we ordered food to go and when we got home to eat the food was delicious. Rosie's Cafe in Tahoe City really disappointed our family, and we ended up walking out before ordering. We were initially excited by the fun, quirky mountain‑diner ambiance and cool decor, and the host was extremely personable, seating us right away and thoughtfully placing us away from a loud but happy table since we had kids with us. However, as soon as we sat down, a strong foul odor hit us, and it was clearly coming from the restrooms. When I went to check, the bathroom smelled like a porta‑potty; the urine smell was so strong it actually stung my nose, and the floor near the urinal was covered in urine. Given how overpowering the smell was and how visibly dirty the restroom area looked, we did not feel comfortable eating there and left immediately. The front‑of‑house staff and vibe were great, but the lack of basic cleanliness in the bathrooms was unacceptable, especially for a family with kids. read more

We went on Thanksgiving Day. I called two days before and confirmed they were dog friendly and we would be able to sit on the patio with our two dogs on the holiday. I called an hour before to see if there was a wait time and to reconfirm we can bring our dogs. The lady rudely said "we're not seating on the patio." Fine. We showed up to order food to go, my husband asked about patio seating again because this is a dog friendly restaurant. I assume the same lady said "we're not having dogs today." Mind you, there was a seated customer with a dog under their table, inside. We ordered with the bartender to go (she was friendly and helpful). Food was terrible, service from that lady in the front even worse, but it was the only option we had considering I called days beforehand and made the plans. Would never come here again. We ended up just getting food at Safeway for dinner. Cheaper, tasted better, no bad attitudes to deal with. read more

A rustic American country style place. Love the vibe here. They have a lovely patio. And enough space for our dog babies to comfortably settle here. We drove an hour from South Lake Tahoe to the north shore for this place. It's a comfort breakfast place to us. I ordered my French toasts topped with fruits and nuts. And the thick maple syrup. Soooooo good! He ordered his Benedict and loved it! The place and people are just so warm here. Definitely worth the trip! read more

Rosie's is off their game. I've been coming here for over 40 years it's always been a go-to place for breakfast. They said the foam maker was broken on their cappuccino machine. I ordered their "home made" corned beef hash with poached eggs. It arrived without the poached eggs and I had to wait to flag someone down to get the eggs added. As the rest of the dish was cooling down the eggs that finally arrived were more hard-boiled than typically soft poached eggs. The corned beef tasted and looked like it came out of a can instead of being home made. The only reason I even gave them three stars was because the waitress was very chirpy -- even though I had to get up myself to get jam for my toast. read more

They ruined the vintage charm with their plastic laminated glossy commercial menu with ads and ads of local jewelry shops and real eatate agents. It's confusing and clashes with the rustic charm vintage vibes. The breakfast is far from healthy. Pre-buttered slices of bread, pale tomatoes, hash browns and eggs cooked in who knows what kind of oil or margarine? Nothing healthy, cheapest ingredients possible. Why would you go here? To see decorations and the antique space, which is really cool. Its very charming just needs to step up the food, it's like a bad Denny's. read more
