I really liked that there was a central coat tree where you could hang your heavy coat, especially with the limited seating. Some tables outside as well for sunny days. Interesting menu that blends standard breakfast with some healthier add-ins like quinoa instead of rice. Food tasted fresh, supporting their goal to serve natural, organic, and local ingredients. I opted for the Sunrise Sliders, and had no complaints. I particularly liked that the pretzel buns weren't too dense and didn't overwhelm the other ingredients. We stopped by right when they opened on a chilly Monday morning. Were immediately greeted by the two friendly and cheerful guys behind the counter. The interior is nice and cozy (and warm), with light reggae music playing in the background. There're only two tables; the rest of the seating is VERY comfortable bar seating. With two walls of windows showing beautiful Lake Tahoe views--plenty of trees and the lake itself--there's plenty of morning light coming through. I was happy that they were serving smooth Laughing Dog coffee--a favorite. And the food came out quick and delicious, with a nice crisp on my burrito wrapper. We needed a quick bite to eat after a morning of sledding and Pep's was a quick drive from the Mellow Meadow (in North Tahoe Regional Park). I was worried there wouldn't be any seating since it's rather small but there was plenty of seating both inside and out. I love that there's hooks to hang up all your jackets and stuff since we were all super warm from playing in the snow. The kids' menu is plentiful and has a lot of variety which is nice and my kid got the hummus plate since he likes little pitas and surprisingly loves raw bell pepper. I got an Italian sandwich which was divine and my husband got a burrito (which had quinoa in it!) we scarfed it all down and also got some drinks. The staff is super friendly and there's a restroom on site for potty breaks. It's also a nice walk across the road to enjoy the view of the lake! read more

Excellent sandwiches! My wife and I happened across Peps place while looking for lunch after a morning at Tahoe Vista beach. The roast beef sandwich with cheese, aioli, and arugula was the best sandwich I had in some time. Excellent flavor and filled with meat. My wife had the veggie wrap and she also thought it was great. Yay, I finally got to try Pep's Place for some takeout breakfast and it did not disappoint. I got the English Muffin breakfast sando and made it vegetarian (no bacon). It came with scrambled eggs, cheese, avocado, butter lettuce & tomato for $11, which is a fair price even w/o the bacon. My only suggestion is that it could use some sort of signature sauce & more seasoning, but I was able to do that at home & it was perfect. My husband's lunch sandwich (Roast Beef $16) was a little pricier than anticipated, but the portion size was pretty big, so I still think you are getting a decent deal here. Grabbed a bagel sandwich and oat milk latte from Peps both mornings I was in town (Friday and Saturday). Not only were they super pleasant and kind when I placed my order over the phone but they were super fast and got my order right each time. My bf got an everything bagel with butter and heavy cream cheese and they def understood the assignment with the cream cheese. Also, all ingredients in my bagel sandwich were nice and fresh and it was so yummy!! FYI, they have plain and everything bagels for you to choose from. We were on our way out of town and had about a 3 hour drive, so it was nice to fuel my body with something healthy. I also got a vanilla latte, and some beef jerky. So great! To start with we got a friendly hello when we walked in. We looked at the creative choices on the menu and I ordered the turkey sandwich warm and my wife got the veggie wrap. We added an acacia bowl cause why not? All of the food was outstanding. Waking up early in the beautiful Sierra is always a pleasure! And knowing a cute mom and pops Cafe is nearby had me excited! Me and one other friend (who visited this place by himself the day before...jerk!) Decided to catch some sun and get our Joe going! Walking in we were immediately greeted with friendly faces! Boy, I don't know, I had a rough and fun night prior playing the most vicious game of Monopoly until 3 in the morning so maybe that's why this Latte smacked so hard! This Latte rejuvenated me, like every sip brought me to life! I decided to go a healthier route with food finally, not because I care about healthy but because I actually like most healthy foods naturally so I ordered a Acai Bowel. It was just the right amount of everything I needed, the bananas were freshly cut, the oats were crunchy and the yogurt wasn't too thick. Infact, my only draw was the yogurt eventually monopolized the whole thing... see how I brought that full circle?! But that's my fault since I walked back to our cabin to eat it instead of lounging about. One cool lil fact I feel needs to be mentioned is this program they got going... so they have a recycling thing where if you bring your own cup you can refill on house brew coffee for a dollar!
