I grew up in Brewerton and we always got Rosie's pizza. When I moved away I started getting Paladino's but now that I'm back I keep finding myself ordering Rosie's more and more. They are two different things. Paladino's is great NYC style pizza and Rosie's is an amazing Sicilian style, hopefully I am not miscategorizing it. What really gets Rosie's to the 5 stars is the service. Jason is the absolute best! He delivered pizza to my house once and the card reader wouldn't work, he saw my toddler at the top of the stairs screaming and he said "don't worry" I'll call when I get back to the shop and I'll just have you pay over the phone" I told him I would wait and he something like "he sounds hungry" and he really helped me out. Fast forward and I got here a little early to pick up pizza and since sitting here, he has called 5 customers by name, he has let a customer in the back to use the restroom, he had a customer call and report and discrepancy on the order and they said they were fine they just wanted them to know and didn't want a credit. When the employee hung up the phone and told Jason he said "write down the name and number I want to make sure we take care of them in the future" this is a great family restaurant that serves great food at good prices and will treat you like one of their own. I am surprised to see the one star review since I have ordered from Rosie's on several occasions and always been pleased with their product. As with all of my reviews, I will go into detail on the specifics below: If there is one thing that I am always expecting when I go to Rosie's, it is quality. Actually, I worked at this location back in my 'teens' and can attest to the high quality standards that the owners try and uphold. Their dough is fresh and made every morning. It is made with great care and it is made with high quality ingredients. The dough has a great crispy exterior while still having a nice, soft and tender interior. The dough is definitely one of the high points of the pizza. The sauce is also made on-site and is made with high quality produce and spices. The taste of the sauce is a nice, rich tomato flavor with some added herbs and spices. It has low acidity and a nice sweetness to it which really compliments the rest of the pizza very well. The pizza is always appropriately sauced and I have never had an issue with its flavor. Next is the cheese. When I worked here, I remember the owner telling me how important the cheese was, so they took great care in purchasing a high quality cheese with great melt-ability and a full-flavor. He wasn't b.s.'ing me because this cheese is some of the very best I have ever had on pizza. It complements all of the other ingredients extremely well and has that nice, stringy and soft texture. It is always perfectly browned on top and combines really well with all of the other flavors. All-in-all, Rosie's produces one of the best pizzas you can ask for. In addition to their amazing pizzas, they also offer a wide variety of home-cooked comfort foods. Everything from baked ziti, to hamburgers, to steak sandwiches, to some of the traditional fried products like mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, etc. And, don't forget about their sandwiches/subs. Those are made with fresh bread, quality meats and cheeses, and fresh vegetables. In addition, if you haven't had the fried haddock sandwich, you need to get it here. Rosie's has one of the best fried haddock sandwiches that money can buy and it is something I ALWAYS get when I come home to visit. Finally, the wings. The wings are cooked to order, always hot, and sauced in a delicious variety of either buffalo, bbq, or golden heat. The gold sauce is absolutely delicious, but the thing that makes their wings as good as they are, is the fact that they are fresh, never frozen chicken wings fried in regularly cleaned oil. Unlike some establishments where the cleanliness is suspect, Rosie's takes great pride in operating in a clean and healthy environment--at least it did when I worked there. Food: 5 / 5 Their service is where you start running into some issues. It is sooo inconsistent and the quality of help that they get there is a reflection of the community in that area. It is usually high school students (or drop-outs) who contribute very little to society as a whole, so instead they work at a pizza shop. Since the area is a little 'northern', you generally get an undereducated person who cares very little for the product he is putting out. This is sad, because it really brings down and otherwise fantastic establishment. If you guys just moved down the road into cicero, the quality of your help and, thus, the quality of your product would benefit greatly. Service: 2 / 5 The prices at Rosie's are high, but not outrageous. And, for the quality you are receiving, it is only appropriate that the prices charged are a little steeper than most. Prices 4 / 5 (a little high, but justifiably so--unless some stupid-ass burn-out screws-up your order [which happens]). Final thoughts: In a town that had 8 pizza places within a 10 mile radius at one point, there is definitely some competition for Rosie's. In my opinion though, the competition does not stand a chance if the original owners are still there and overseeing the quality of their product. There isn't any other pizza place I would rather eat at in this area. It is also one of the best pizzas in Syracuse as a whole (Top 10). The reason this still gets 4 stars despite the service, is because how good the food actually is. Because of their high quality product, I weighted the food score a little more than service. read more

Service was terrible...talked to an idiot that apparently has NO idea what the English language is...FINALLY got this female to understand what I wanted...when it was finally delivered, 2 hours later, was told it would be about 45 minutes, and it was WRONG...I'm not sure why its so hard to grasp a pizza with cheese on one half and pepperoni, sausage on the other half but apparently these simpletons can't get that...the food is sub par at best BUT when they can't even understand a simple order then it's time to move on...I give this place a 1 rating ONLY because I can't choose a lesser rating read more

I used to love to get turkey sandwiches on dark rye at Rosie's. They were delicious. Lately, every time I go there, they are getting skimpier with the meat. The sandwiches are just not worth the money. I honestly think there is more meat on a Jreck sub. Disappointed again. I won't be going here for sandwiches any more. Stopped here with some friends on the way up north. Got some ruebens and tuna melt. Also had gigantic pickles that were very crunchy and delicious. The "half" sandwich was huge! Once again, as has happened on MULTIPLE occasions in the past, we had company over and ordered a sheet pizza, and instead they showed up with 2 large pizzas... "Sorry we were out of sheet crusts".. Umm, they should have called us and told us that and not just showed up with the wrong food. Ridiculous. Their 2 larges are way smaller than 1 sheet, but the price was the same.. But they made it sound like we were getting a deal because their larges are normally way over priced. The pizza took an hour to arrive and was not great. Done with Rosies. Steer clear, Top-This, Paladinos, Fratelli's and others have FAR better pizza and deliver to brewerton. My sister and I found ourselves in Brewerton at lunchtime, with an hour to kill. Wanted to to try State Craft but it was closed, so we picked Rosies's. I wanted to like this place---I really did. Little local hole-in-the-wall with no A/C, limited seating, handmade signs. Many times you get lucky with a place like this. Not this time. Sandwiches were large enough, but not good. Low quality deli meat. Sub rolls doughy and tasteless. We both ended up throwing out half our lunch. And then, late that night---Rosie's Revenge! read more
