We moved to Monument 6 months ago and have been to Rosie's Diner on several occasions. Firstly the place is impeccably clean and the staff is extremely friendly and professional. The food is ALWAYS good and is consistent every time we eat there. The portions are extremely generous with a good selection daily. Hello, I worked at Rosie's Diner for almost a year. I have a few things to share about my experience at Rosie's Dinner in Monument. The way management acts with their employees is very unprofessional, it feels like a hierarchy. If you have less experience you are treated as though you are incompetent and if you are not in the inner circle(management, not including Russ) you are meet with a hostile attitude. The kitchen staff regularly makes inappropriate comments and uncomfortable physical contact to the staff including underage girls and management would rather ignore the issues then do anything about it. Also trying to get time off is near impossible especially if you are newer to the staff and if you manage to get a day off it can't be more than 3 days or you have to quit then reapply and start from the bottom. Breaks are run illegally, you get less than 30min in a 7 plus hour shift. Also on weekends you have to come in 30min before your shift starts to take your 30min unpaid break before you even clock in. I also know I am not the only one to have this experience. Many new hires last 1-2 months and within a month they lost 10 employees. Bottom line daytime management is demeaning to anyone not in their circle and are demeaning to the night time management. This work place drains your mental health and physical health. I would not recommend working here. read more

We stopped at Rosie's Diner on Sunday. My husband ordered a shake and the waitress brought out the shake in a glass with whipped cream on top PLUS the container that they mixed the shake in and it was still half full of the ice cream that didn't fit in the glass!! Sorry, just can't rate it very high. We were in Monument for a few days on vacation in early Oct. and ate there twice. The first time was dinner. The service was good and the server was great but the food for both of us was just ok. Not bad but just not good either. Great little diner. We really haven't ever had anything bad here after all the times we've been. It is a fun place to take the family for some artery clogging meals. Nothing really original on the menu but, hello, it's a diner so what do you expect? Some fancy cuisine? The service has always been friendly and quick and the kids love it. Rosie's has amazing service. The wait staff is always so polite and able to manage their time wisely when they are busy. Some of the wait staff, such as Alice, has been there for years and have really gotten to know me and my family. They are always so warm and welcoming. The restaurants great and easily accessible location makes them a great place to go for any meal. The 50's decor just adds to the charm of this cute restaurant. They have a wide variety of milk shakes that are all very delicious. Every month they also have a milkshake in the month that coordinate with the month (such as pumpkin shakes in October). The food is really good. They always make everything you want it. I myself am a picky eater and want my food cooked a specific way and they always bring me the food the way I ordered it (something many restaurants lack the ability to do). Their burgers are top notch but they also have many other menu items besides burgers that are amazing as well. They get really busy on the weekends for breakfast, but still they do not skimp out on quality of food or service when they are busy. Their menu items for breakfast are typical but they also have some signature menu items as well, such as, the Rosita Burrito. Rosie's also does a variety of different events throughout the year that really help the Tri-Lakes Community out. They sponsor different school events, have car shows in the summer, and provide meals for the less fortunate on Thanksgiving. Them helping out the community just makes me want to go eat at their restaurant even more! read more

We have been to Rosies a few times in the past. This is a great diner style restaurant nd has good basic down home food. If you are looking for a "diner" experience in the Pikes Peak area this is a good place to try. They serve breakfast all day plus all of what you would expect from a diner like burgers and fries, milkshakes made to order, etc. .. nice! read more

Normally breakfast is good. However the last time I went with a friend for lunch. Breakfast is served all day. I had one of the skillets and the veggies were ice cold in the skillet. Also, the biscuit had that microwave look and taste. I'll never again order breakfast outside of breakfast hours. My friends lunch was hot and good. read more

Treated very badly by the manager. We were frequent customers until this past Sunday. I have a prescription in a water bottle (water soluble meds) They don't let you have outside food or drink. I informed them that it was medication. Seeing that they don't charge for water and I ordered a drink along with the other 6 people in our group, I didn't think it was going to be a problem. ( I did not see the sign about no outside food and drinks and don't consider medication a drink) They made me pour it into a cup of theirs and this upset my husband. I have never seen them make someone remove a bottle or sippy cup that was brought in, by the way. The waiter was complaining about us to other staff where we could see him so we got up to leave. He came to the table and my husband told him to get out of his face. We paid the bill and asked to speak to a manager. Instead of dealing with the problem, he asked for proof of my prescription! I didn't know that I needed to carry proof of a prescription to a restaurant. He proceeded to yell and scream at my husband to get out and came outside of the diner and was screaming at my husband to hit him on camera. Words were exchanged between my husband and him as my husband was walking away. The manager just would not leave him alone and followed us to the car, taking pictures of the car. This manager is out of control. We will never go near that place again. read more

I had to ask twice for menus before receiving them. There were so many flies in the dining room, that I asked the waitress for a fly swatter. She brought it to me, and, when I was done with it, the people at the next table asked if they could use it! My son's food was under cooked, so we sent it back to be cooked properly. I was not given the condiments that I asked for. I had to get up and ask for barbecue sauce 3 times before the waitress brought it to the table. For a refill on water, I again had to get up from the table and ask the waitress. My plate was garnished with a brown, rotten, wilted piece of lettuce. When I showed it to a staff member, she asked me what I ordered...I told her; she replied by saying, "You don't eat it, it's just a garnish". It was then, that I explained to her, to my disbelief, that garnishing a plate with a brown, rotten piece of lettuce is counter productive. I could not believe that a restaurant employee was actually defending putting a rotten vegetable on my plate! Needless to say, I will NEVER step foot in that restaurant again! read more

Not your typical diner or greasy spoon dive. this is a decent throwback to the 1950's diner experience. Don't bother stopping here if you're looking for haute food. It's everything your grandmother cooked and so much more. Ingredients used are ok but rather mediocre. Burgers I had was a bit overcooked but not surprising since it was a frozen patty. A soda for nearly three dollars seemed a bit extreme as did my dining companions coffee. Decent alternative to the chain, fast food restaurants that infiltrated monument Colorado a couple decades ago. Not a resounding recommendation, I know. But, there's always hope they'll resurrect this place into a truly wonderful gem. read more

Don't come here if you are worried about cleanliness because the place is dirty. Also, the do not accommodate people that have food allergies or medical issues. Food is mediocre. Got take out for my family. I got a breakfast dish. They said 10 minutes. I got there and waited at least 30 minutes. There was a box on the warmer. I asked if that was part of my order. They said no. When I got home, my pancakes were missing. I called and spoke to a manager (Dee). She said she would leave a note for a replacement meal. 2 weeks later, today, I came in to collect. I was seated and explained the situation. A different manager (didn't get her name) came over and said there was no note. She said she would have to check the log book. Came back later and said the same thing. I said forget it. If they wouldn't believe me and then embarrassed me by arguing with me, even though I gave them detailed facts, this is not the kind of place that values its customers. They lost my repeat business over a $10 meal they wouldn't comp. Don't give them your business. They won't respect you. read more

Came in one morning a couple weeks back, very busy. Maybe the place was short staffed, but things seemed to be running just fine. The food is good and the service I received was great. The one star is due to the management. I sat at the counter, and in the time I spent there I witnessed terrible management twice. I saw the manager tell every one on the staff to drop everything and come over, and he proceeded to yell at the staff in front of many customers. I saw this same man throw a piece of paper at a member of his staff behind the counter- again in front of customers. Poor girl was fighting back tears the whole time I was there after that incident. When I got to the front to pay I asked the cashier who that man was and Iwas shocked to find that he was the owner. Unfortunate, because the food is good and pretty cheap, but I can't support this business after witnessing this behavior. We won't be back. read more

I was pretty stoked to go here with my parents as we love oldies music and comfort food. The diner itself is neat and spacious. The music isn't loud unless you are outside so we didn't play music because we wouldn't be able to hear it. The menu was pretty big but the service could have been better. We waited a good amount of time when there were plenty of tables available. The waitstaff was nice but pretty slow. I ordered the meatloaf and it was good but not what I was accustomed to-it had numerous veggies baked in and was smothered in brown gravy. The turkey plate and a chicken fry was ordered too. Was so glad that on the chicken fry, the gravy was ordered on the side because it was breakfast sausage gravy. Who uses sausage gravy on a chicken fry? read more

It is your average diner food, whats worse is the Owner, just ask many employees as the turnover is huge. Don't even bother with the "Frequent Cruiser Card". You know most businesses offer a stamp or punch card for a meal purchase, this guy limits almost anything you get to receive a stamp not based on spend but a specific meal. Then try getting your "free" meal when you have received your 8th stamp, that too is limited. His M-O just lends to a not so friendly environment​ and to boot the food is just MEH. read more

I liked this diner and would return; however, was not the best food we have had. Ordered a guacamole burger with mayo on the side. First, I don't like burgers on thick, heavy bread, making the burger high in carbs, hard to get into your mouth, plus hard to chew. Then, when the mayo did not come with the sandwich and I asked the server who delivered it to the table for some, I was practically thrown two of those plastic "packets" down on the table. First off, I hate those damn packets - I wish they had never been made. Anyone who serves them makes me feel the meal & restaurant are cheap, the ridiculous irritation and mess with opening them, plus all the additives in those things to keep them from going bad for years. Yuck! Hubs had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and Texas toast and said it was good, but not great. I hate to tell you, even those of us from Texas hate "Texas Toast!" Rosie's rocks! I have been to so many of these (many on the east coast) that simply miss the mark or are so dirty/neglected that they tend to be something I avoid anymore. We went to this place several times very pricy and service is not consistent definitely do not go on a weekend it's all teenage servers and they don't care. The last and final time we went we waited 20 minutes for a server then she walked out the door after we got our drinks. I had to ask for another server as all the other ones just walked by not paying no attention. Like I said don't go on weekends. Food is normally pretty good. But good luck getting mayo put on your sandwich they will only give you a pack on the side. I doubt we will ever go back. read more
