The food was great. The quarter grump with eggs over medium, ham and cover that with half green chili and half country gravy. Second meal was simple breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and side of French toast. We enjoyed the food very much. Service was fine. They only had two staff members working the busy dining room on a Sunday at brunch hour. Could have used two more. Our waitress was super busy. The Sunday farmers market in park across the street helped to bring in more customers. The food was great, the A/C worked well and we enjoyed the experience at King's Chef Diner.

Fun place with a server that was over the top (in a good way) when one of us ordered Bacon Extra Crispy. I won't go into the 2 minute dissertation that followed but it was funny! One order was the Basic Breakfast and the other Merls Scramble which was diced country potatoes, red onions and green peppers all grilled together and topped with 2 eggs and smothered with Breakfast Gravy. Sounds like a lot and it was (and I got the small one !) but it was very good. With coffee and tip it was on the expensive side for breakfast ($50 or so) but worth it.

The Grump (1/2 portion) with ham, 1/2 green chili and 1/2 gravy smothered on top and over medium eggs. PERFECTION

This is hands down my favorite breakfast restaurant in town. If I could eat here every weekend, I would haha. I always get the half grump with half green chili and half gravy on top - please note that it's a big portion. The whole grump is massive and the half is a lot, so if you're not looking to eat a lot, I think the quarter grump would be perfect, but if I'm going to Kings Chef, I'm coming to grub lol. It never disappoints!

Finally hit this spot up! So good. It has a nice menu with your basic diner food as well as unique twists. The green chili was on point and had that nice little kick of spice on top of a nice full breakfast burrito. The location is awesome, right in the heart of Downtown. Don't miss this spot to fuel up while checking out all the cool shops in downtown Colorado Springs.

The portions here are large, but you will want to eat every bite. I have never had a bad meal here. I order the half grump and bring the other half back to Denver with me. The service is always very friendly and quick. Still has an old school vibe, but a very chill environment. 10/10

Great breakfast! Got the breakfast burrito, French toast, and bacon (All amazing). Service was great and wouldn't sit more people than they can handle.

Great food, great service! We found this place after doing a Google search for good breakfast restaurants in the area. This one was highly recommended so we tried it out and it did not disappoint. It has a really cool vibe inside the restaurant and we were seated right away. The waitress we had was amazing. My husband ordered the grump and the waitress warned him that it's really big and she asked if he wanted a half size but he went all in.... and OMG it is ginormous! but everything was really really good and I highly recommend you try this place if you're in the area.

Nicole my server was sweet and attentive at my breakfast this morning while at the Diner. Food came out nice and fast! Other server Markey that was not waiting on me was friendly as well! Ambiance is an interesting idea. Clean though and plenty of room for a busy day. I sat at the bar and that's my recommendation at any diner. Food was incredible! I had the Breakfast Burrito. I added ham and bacon to it, smothered with both country gravy and green chili. I had this place a few years ago before COVID and it was great then as well! Keep up the good work! Will recommend to others and will be back!

The food is good and we really liked the place the first time. However, today my wife got an order to go and when we got home and she finally had a chance to eat it there was a hair embedded in it. About a foot long and she almost choked on it. Yes we got our money back. But she's a retired chef and is now not willing to return.

Not bad at all, also not the same. The burger was kind of dry and almost seemed reheated, which is not at all the norm. I was so excited to have a location nearer to me. I love Skirted Heifers and will continue to enjoy the downtown location.

I ordered online. I arrived 1 minute prior to the time it said my order would be ready. I went to…read morethe "Order Pickup" area and the guy passing out orders said they were really busy and backed up but it "looked like my stuff was on the grill". No big deal, it happens. So I grabbed a seat at the stickiest table I think I've ever sat at in my life. After waiting for about 15 minutes and never hearing my name, I noticed a guy walked up to the counter and was handed a black bag. Next to the bag they handed him sat another black bag. I wonder if that's mine, I thought. So I walked back up to the order pickup area and asked they guy, "Did you call my name, Barry?" He checked all the tickets lined up and said to me in the most smug tone he could muster, "Dude, I don't have anyone named Barry". And then just went back to doing whatever. I said, "Hey man, do you not remember? I was just up here looking for my ToGo order. You told me you guys were ba..." and he cut me off and goes, "Oh ToGo?" And then walks over to the black bag that was sitting there and goes, "Barry?" I nod, and he snatched the back up and slings it on the counter and goes back to doing whatever. I said, "Hey man, how long has it been sitting there?" He smugly replied (as if I was a burden) "probably like five minutes" When I asked how come he didn't call me he just ignored me. He just turned around and went back to doing whatever, totally ignoring me.I said, "Look man, I don't want to get back to my hotel (about 10 minutes away) and my food be cold." He just looked at me and shrugged and went back to ignoring me, as if I was a burden to him and the store. I said "hey man, I think it's BS you're ignoring me" to which he just turned around and walked away. Honestly he's lucky I didn't pull him across the counter and teach him some manners, because his momma obviously didn't. Also, the food sucked. But I'm not sure if it was because, and as I suspected, when I got back to the hotel both burgers and the fries were cold. It was so bad we didn't even eat it. We just threw it away. An absolute waste of $40 (and if I'm being honest, I'm not even sure if hot the food would be worth those prices). Any way this place sucks and I hope and bunch of terrible stuff happens to that dude.

The crew was awesome and it's always cool to me to see how hands-on every single person on the staff is. I was super hungry so I ordered the Niçoise salad which was perfect. The vinaigrette they have is flavorful and I would put it on anything. Since I've been on a ramen kick lately I had to have the wabi-sabi ramen which I highly recommend to everyone. Drinks! I got the good luck, outlaw and it was bright, not too sweet, gingery. If you're not used to consuming turmeric this may kick start your digestion so be wary if you're going somewhere with limited restrooms. Good for the gut really means GOOD for the gut. If you've never visited this little spot, don't be afraid to try something you may have not heard of. Shuga's is avant-garde dining, with a menu of all different kind of items that somehow still co-exist without sacrificing flavor, but still shows love to that menu item's traditional style. When you go there, you'll know what I mean. Have fun!

I was obsessed with the eclectic vibe both inside and on their patio. The weather was beautiful so we took advantage of the outdoor seating. The menu featured some delicious and unique items. I opted for the bruschetta & soup combo. The coconut shrimp soup was my absolutely fave! So so good! The bruschetta were hit or miss for me, I liked the goat cheese with grape but the salmon I wish had more flavor. Overall we enjoyed the meal & some great lattes too! An awesome spot to start the morning at.

3 stars. Stopped in…read morearound 6:00 on a Tuesday evening. We were really craving breakfast food and drinks, and this place met all the criteria. The restaurant itself is in an older building, but there's a ton of seating up front and even more in the back -- it's pretty large once you walk through and see how big it is, so getting a table shouldn't be an issue. There's also reserved parking behind the building, so if you don't see anything on the street, head around back. Service was fast and friendly, and our waiter did a great job. French toast -- my wife's pick. She said it was solid -- probably not the best she's ever had, but good. Pancakes -- came out hot, fluffy, fresh, and very large. Probably eight or nine inches in diameter. Two eggs over hash (+ country gravy) -- super good. I'd recommend adding the gravy to your hash, or getting it on the side so you can add a little at a time -- it's pretty heavy and dense, and there was enough of it that I had to sift through to get to my hash and eggs. Heads up: I underestimated how large their plates are. Once all the food came out, it was clear we weren't finishing it. Coffee drinks -- the biggest letdown of the evening. My wife got her regular cappuccino and couldn't even finish it. I ordered an iced coffee drink with whiskey and Kahlúa in it, and it just wasn't good -- I don't know what the balance was supposed to be, but I'd 100% not order it again. They have a lot of alcoholic coffee drinks on the menu and I sifted through them thinking this one looked like the best of the bunch. Would not recommend it. The other thing was karaoke night. I enjoy karaoke, but I wasn't expecting it -- it wasn't going when we sat down and started up about thirty minutes later, and we were fairly close to the singers. It was loud, and karaoke talent is always hit or miss. This was mostly a miss. Not what we were in the mood for at that moment. Pro tip: Come for the breakfast, skip the coffee drinks -- and know that a weeknight evening might land you in the middle of karaoke. In general, this is a great place to go for breakfast, and I'd highly recommend it for that. I'd return if I wanted a nice breakfast meal, morning or evening.
