My first time here. It won't be my last! Even if I do live an hour & 45 minutes away! The dining room was clean and tastefully decorated . The staff were very pleasant. The food was outstanding!! My wife and I have gone there many times and always found it to be very good. I am talking about both the service and the food. But, today they were special. It was a hot morning and one of the air conditioners was not working. They warned us instantly and we decided to stay and sit at the counter. They warned all their customers of the predicament and everyone decided to stay. They were shorthanded today (this is not typical for them) and the place got crowded. The servers and Rosie were in high gear. They were working hard and communicating constantly with each other and the customers to get the job done. We got our breakfast promptly and it was great. Stopped in here for a late breakfast on Saturday. The server was super awesome. Sweet funny and attentive. The decor was typical cafe fair with crafty looking wall ornaments. The food.. it was well below what we would consider average. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits were the kind that came out of the tin and the gravy was flavorless. I added a side of scrambled eggs which did not arrive with the meal but about 5 minutes later. My meal arrived 7 minutes before my son's BLT. The menu listed it on a brioche but it arrived on white toast with barely any mayo. Super dry. I had noticed another table of two in which one meal came 5-7 minutes before their table mate as well. I understand that it was a busy morning but do expect that the kitchen can prepare meals to come out at the same time so that people at the table don't have to wait to eat until the rest of the table get their food. Over the last 6 months, I've become a "regular" at Rosie's. I'm in there at least twice a week. This place is unbelievable. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and always amazingly delicious food. Rosie's Diner reminds me of "Cheers" sometimes. The staff is on a first name basis with just about every customer that walks through the door. The atmosphere is always entertaining, and you are sure to leave with a full belly and a smile every time. Rosie herself is always back there on the grill, with a smile on her face. Sitting at the counter and watching the cooks at work on the grill is entertaining too. It's always a treat to stop in at Rosie's. If you've never been, I suggest you give it a shot and you'll soon become a "regular" as well. read more

I was not looking for a breakfast place. I was having my motorcycle repaired at 3a motors (moms). The service manager said it would be 3 hours. He gave me a ride to Rosie's diner. First things first; breakfast. 2 eggs over easy with toast and home fries. My one and only experience with this place was Saturday morning an hour after they opened. I sit down at the "bar" and wait. There are 3 of us there and only about 5 tables in the restaurant that have people so I'm thinking this will be fast service. I sat for 15 minutes and watch a regular walk in being greeted like he is family and they take his order. I still have not even been acknowledged! The wait staff is very attentive and friendly.My sister and I went for breakfast, we both ordered simple egg dish with sausage links home fries and I ordered the side of New England bake beans. While we were waiting I went on their website to see how the reviews were since they,re upgrade after being on televisions restaurant in possible. The reviews were just OK. Our meals came and my over medium eggs where leaning more towards the well done side. The home fries were good but there sure weren't many. The baked beans were just as I remembered them. When we got our bill I saw that they are now charging $1 for The baked beans. A little disappointing, not that I can't afford to pay the $1 for the baked beans but I always loved that they offered them free. And of course that is what their website says. The Web site also says they accept credit cards. They are a cash only restaurant although they do have an ATM in the back Time to update your website rosie. Will I come back? Probably yes read more

This is unfortunate as my family is part of the local community and we try to always support small local businesses. We grew up in this area and frequented the same 2 breakfast diners. Once my family settled in Chelmsford, we were so happy to have Rosie's in walking distance (5 min) to have a new "regular" diner. My husband and I brought my 3 year old daughter excited for pancakes, and we stood in the doorway for 10 minutes without an acknowledgement. We read the sign to "wait to be seated" so we did not seat ourselves at the 4-5 empty tables. We smiled at the 3 women working there, my 3 year old said hello and we were met with silence and still were not acknowledged. We were ignored as if they were hoping we would just leave if they pretend like we did not exist. I stepped forward, closer to the bar because I couldn't believe the blatant rudeness and the audacity to be in the customer service business and treat people like that. Everyone in the restaurant stared at us for several minutes and probably also wondered when we would be worthy enough for the women to seat us. We bit our tongues, and left so our daughter did not need to experience the rudeness. We drove 15 minutes out of our way to another town, a different familiar diner and was greeted with smiles and a very pleasant, family like manner. I will never step foot in Rosie's again. Disappointed and appalled is an understatement. read more

What a find! In from Arizona to visit family and wondering WHAT to do for breakfast. Not anymore. I'm now a regular. When I'm anywhere near this beautiful New England town. Yes, the setting is nice, but the food is amazing! From the many styles of Eggs Benedict (some with their own proprietary on-site prepared Irish hash which runs out early in the week because it's sooo good); to the omelets; the pancakes, and every other breakfast possibility. The place does get full around 8:00 am. But with the amazing (there's that word again) staff, the wait is minimal. Drew reminded me of The Flash as he took care of the many demands on him. But, being a young man, he seemed to do it with no effort. Open 7 days a week from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Any reviews less than 5 stars must be from one of Drew's former girlfriends. Nice diner. I've been going for years. The service is always nice and friendly and the food is good. They recently renovated the restaurant and added new menu items. They also changed the recipes for many of the existing menu. Overall, if you are in the Chelmsford/Tyngsboro area and looking to have some breakfast, Rosie's Diner is a solid choice. While this place has a beautiful update, they're still having problems with service. It took me about 5 minutes to get a table. I ordered a Diet Coke 5 minutes ago that I still haven't gotten. While waiting, I overheard a waitress tell another waiter (who seems newer) to stop taking orders, since the kitchen is so backed up that they're going to be awhile. He doesn't tell me this, but goes and tells the table across from me that their order is going to be another 20 minutes. The table replies collectively that they're in a hurry and cant wait. They order muffins and cornbread instead since it's already made. Looking around, about half of the tables have orders. A couple that sat down minutes after I did gets their order put in first...the head waitress that said to hold off on putting orders in is walking around with white toast and going table to table asking if anyone ordered a white toast (wtf?!). The waiter finally comes to my table and tells me that there's a 20 minute wait for orders, since there are about 10-15 tickets in deep. He tells me that he'll give me a minute to think about whether I want to put an order in while I enjoy my drink...then disappears. I arrived at 11:21. It's now 11:41. One Diet coke and a desire to order a sandwich that won't materialize. The group in a hurry asks the head waitress for the check since they need to head out. She states that their waiter probably has it in his back pocket. The waiter, who has overheard this. Waits on a table then runs to the bathroom for two minutes, then heads to the kitchen. At this point, the restaurant is about half full. It's 11:50. Waiter tells me the ticket backup is gone. I order an ultimate sandwich. 30 minutes to order a sandwich. What in the world. 12:00. No sandwich yet. A new waitress asks my waiter what's in a Brussels Sprout hash. He thinks there's maple and checks the menu (you didn't train the new ones?!). 12:01. Sandwich arrives. The menu says it comes with potato chips, but there are 17 small home fries there instead. Barely any chips in there, so there's hardly a crunch when you bite in. 12:17. Two tables away, a man is complaining to the waitress that his omelette is burnt at the bottom. My sandwich is okay. Very slow heavy. I had told the waiter that the menu said it was supposed to have a side of chips, not home fries. He checks the menu and agrees. He goes back and grabs a bag of Lays and apologizes. Went to the diner to meet a friend I hadn't seen in a year. We wanted a comfortable place to grab a bite, sit and talk. After we paid, we were asked to leave because the people at the door wanted a booth. We said we would move our seat to a table (there were more than enough empty tables to accommodate the small handful of customers who were waiting), we said we would buy something else, and we promised to compensate the waitress with another tip. With a huff and a puff the waitress said, "It's fine, you can stay." We had been watching the door the whole time to make sure we were not taking up needed seats. About 20 minutes later another waitress came over and said, "I hate to tell you this but we need you to leave, the customers at the door (a new party) want a booth." I said, "There are plenty of empty tables." She said, "The customers want a booth and the owner said she needs you to leave." This waitress was horrified to learn that we told the previous waitress we would move to a table, buy something, and leave an extra tip. We were quiet, polite, and neat. This did not make sense. Come to find out the owner was also the cook who came out to the counter three times to speak to other customers about us (which was abundantly clear as they turned to look at us - all 3 times.) VERY RUDE FROM THE TOP DOWN (except the one waitress). Food - Nothing jumbo about the JUMBO French toast other than the word on the menu. Avocado toast was like a crunchy crouton with a small amount of avocado spread across it. Not bad, but far from impressive. Clean restaurant. Physical space is average. I guess this is one of the lucky restaurants that didn't suffer from Covid and doesn't need new customers. They didn't even try to be polite. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

First time customer. Worst breakfast ever! Don't bother going here. Ordered Eggs Benedict. The english muffin was soggy, the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was from a packet, No flavor. Needed lemon, butter and salt. The homefries were salty. The ham in the eggs benny was way too salty to eat. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Our waiter was attentive and I really appreciated him. He asked if I would like something else from the menu and I said, "Yes." He brought me another dish and then charged me for the terrible Eggs Benedict in addition to the new dish. Upon questioning our waiter, Rosie marched out of the kitchen and basically blasted me for not liking her salty, soggy, flavorless Eggs Benedict. She charged me for both dishes.
