This morning I ordered a potato omelette from Nick's P i c c o l o deli on levittown pky in hicksville, that a friend picked up for me. I received home fries on the bottom of the dish, and scrambled eggs overly well done like an overcooked slab of bread over home fries big chunks of potatoes. When I called the owner and just began to explain what had happened the man hung up on me! Apparently he feels justified to do what he does and had the nerve to charge me $7.60. Do not frequent this deli as the owner could care less! Upon returning the item to the deli the owner was very apologetic and quickly returned my money. Great food HOWEVER you can't order anything custom hero . For example Italian hero with deli ham NOT spicy ham , Owner tells you "yes ok "but then you get home and it is spicy ham. This has happened 3 times. I have food allergies and sensitivities so this is a deal breaker for me . Not good business , s person CAN get real sick from eating something they can't. Wonderful deli. Their homemade chicken soup hits the spot if you don't have time to make it yourself, and their fresh warm food goes fast so go early. Sometimes my daughter craves white rice and beans so I go at 10 am to make sure we get it. The owners are genuine and hard working, turning this community deli into a special place. He's always making improvements. I always get an egg white spinach, fresh sliced tomato with mozzarella, salt and pepper on whole wheat. Now We just need to make the coffee stronger. read more

I came to know this deli after stopping by with co-workers for lunch. The ambiance is nice, the deli gets busy for lunch and learned why. The food, the service and price are all great. So much, it quickly became my first stop in the morning for my coffee and breakfast. There always something in the hot food bar to pick up or the staff is ready to take my order. I've gone here for years, the owner has always been the nicest guy to me & made just great food for me when I needed it most. I've seen this place get better and better over the years and some delis just never improve their quality/appearance, this place though? What a stroke of good luck! My brother and I went to watch the football game at a bar that didn't serve food. We decided to get something while we waited for the game. "Hick's Piccolo Gourmet" was a location my brother mentioned he passed a while back. We made our way, it was a quick drive. It's located in a small community in a shopping center. The deli stands out from the rest of the surrounding businesses. It's load and screams "come inside." I accepted the invitation and walked in. The deli is long and quite. Two TVs play as you wait. The gentleman behind the counter is the owner named Benjamin. And he couldn't be a nicer guy. He joked with us and mentioned they've been around for six years. He also stated they have the best hero's around. "Best hero's around you say?" Well I would put that to the test. They have a list of sandwiches you can pick from. You can also modify the hero's any way you want. I made small changes and the owner went to work preparing the food. My brothers eyes grew wide as he put the hero together. The owner seemed to pile on the meat with portion control out the window. I saw tears down my brothers cheek as he imagined the best way to tackle this titan. Then I had the same questions as he made mine. We sat down at the seating inside and exchanged one half of our hero's. This is something we do to experience the food at any location. I have to say, this gentleman was a man of his word! The hero was better than I expected. How could one man make a masterpiece without any help? I was in complete awe of his talent. It was a special meal. And on top of everything, he gives potato salad with the meal. Pow! I went from customer to patron. And judge by the way he spoke to a few other people buying food, I'm not the only one. If you love meats, salads, and good conversation, than look no further than Piccolo. read more

Hicks Piccolo Deli, The place is clean. Apparently it has been there 8 years or so. It is on the corner of a small shopping section. I believe there had been a different deli there some years ago. I can not rate it fairly or better; as I got a muffin and coffee for a quick stop and have not tried their foods. read more

Left my cell on the counter, went back within 10 minutes. Phone was gone, no customers . In the deli, one of the employees took it , not to mention they cheat you out of your change, so count you change before you leave. Will never go there again!!!!!! PS never got the phone back!!!!!! read more

Yay, I'm the first person to write a review for this place. I actually just visited this Deli again for the first time after my mom sold off her store that was located next door. I guess people wouldn't go out of their way to come to this strip of random stores unless they lived nearby, but this Deli is amazing. First, the owners are insanely nice. They basically watched me grow up and they were always really nice to my parents. Their food is amazing. It's a little pricey for their specialized sandwiches, but it's REALLY worth it because they're huge. Their breakfast sandwiches are really good, and for some reason, very addicting & memorable. I hate those places that skimp out by using only one egg and a slice of bacon; this place is most DEFINITELY not like that. Oh, and although seasonal, if you're in town during the summer, you should ask them for their ice coffee. It's only like max 2.50 dollars for like almost a liter of it. For all you starbucks junkies, you ain't got nothing on this. I. will. never. ever. forget. the. ice. coffee. here. ... just make sure a guy named Peter makes it though. He's so awesome. read more

The last few times I was in that area, I made it a point top stop and buy the potato. macroni and cole slaw salads because I had some at my sisters home. Good stuff. The potato salad is just like we used to buy when we were little. Not chunks of processed potatoe's they get in those buckets but real potato slices in a good mayo.
