Extremely disappointing shopping and checkout experience. Some items in the store did not have price tags. I picked out a pair of Nike shoes and asked an employee about the price because there was no price tag on the shoes. She told me they were $49.99. I also noticed that another pair of the exact same shoes had a $49.99 price tag, so naturally I assumed that all the same shoes were the same price. However, when I got to the checkout, the cashier told me the shoes were $59.99. I even went back and brought her the exact same shoes with the $49.99 price tag to show her. She still insisted that my pair was $59.99. I asked her how the exact same shoes could have a $10 price difference and said that it didn't make sense. I also explained that if the price was actually $59.99, then I had wasted my time finding and bringing these shoes to the register based on the $49.99 price I was given. Her response was, "I'm the cashier. You're wasting my time too." I was honestly shocked by her attitude. I was simply asking about a price discrepancy and trying to understand why the same shoes were being charged differently. To make things worse, she also forgot to scan a keychain. I had to point out that there was still an item that hadn't been scanned. Instead of simply correcting the mistake, she accused me of being rude. I understand that working as a cashier can be stressful, but customers have every right to ask questions about pricing, especially when the store has inconsistent price information. There was absolutely no reason to speak to a customer in such a disrespectful manner. Very disappointing customer service. I hope management looks into what happened and provides better customer service training to the staff. read more

Excellent prices, beautiful clothing . Home items are out of this world nice well priced.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. While I was waiting in line to pay, the employee in charge of self-checkout told me to move there because I had fewer than ten items. When one of my items wouldn't scan, she had to come over to help. After I paid, I stood nearby to have my receipt checked. Apparently, I wasn't standing in the "correct" spot, because when the self-checkout cashier returned, she yelled at me and sent me to the back of the line. When she finally checked my receipt, she was extremely rude and handled my items roughly. I tried to complain, but no one seemed interested in listening or addressing the situation. If this is considered normal or acceptable customer service at this store, that's very disappointing. I won't be returning unless changes are made. read more

I waited for over 15 minutes for someone to open the jewelry case for me. No one ever came to open it. I spoke to the manager, and he wasn't any help. I haven't been back to this store since. The uniformed security guard/ greeter is the only good thing about this store. She is very nice, and kind. read more

The other reviews about the terrible customer service are right. There was one cash register open, and three other workers just standing around watching her laughing and talking in Spanish. One of them being the manager with blonde hair who had come do some code on the register. I asked said manager can you please get her help? there's a big line here and she's doing this all by herself. And she said oh no hold on and never brought her help. I asked the lady at the register if it's always like this and she said yes. It's just really rude and unacceptable. read more

It's a hit or miss here at Ross. I was looking to see what they had as far as warm weather seasonal snow gear. Found one pair of snow boots for infants but one size too small for what I'm looking for for my baby. This Ross is clean and things don't seem "messed over ". The LP people greet you as you walk in and say good bye as you leave. This trip didn't net me anything. Oh well I'll be back when I'm looking for something specific clothing wise thats reasonably priced. read more

If that employee had been like that in the beginning, I wouldn't have been so upset. I will still patronize this store because the other staff are so nice and the security guards at the door greet customers with a smile every time, I think I will forget this unpleasantness. read more

I am only giving this a one star rating because I don't have an option to give no stars This store is the most Racist retailer I have ever been to!!! And I will never shop at another Ross ever again. I took my mother shopping there she is in her 80's. She recently had a stroke and walks with a limb. She usually don't get self conscious about things, but this incident made her feel bad. I noticed that the cashier at the Ross in Chino, Ca and the female security guard were laughing at my mom. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause a seen in public and make myself look like a fool. But this is one incident of many I have dealt with at Ross stores. Better communication I was walking around finding the right item and it felt like we were being followed up until we paid. None of the girls acknowledged us other than the security guard to remove the tags. Do better Ross yes it's Kate at night but the store was empty and only self checkout was available because the girls were too busy talking with each other. read more

The worts Ross...only one register open and the customer was with two cart of goods to purchase .... People were in line for a long time but. Body was helping here. I asked the employee on the floor and they don't care at all...yeah there are kiosk and I can use that but unfortunately I was returning the item. I totally understand that it's the holidays and that Ross gets super crazy and busy. But this employee was rude and unprofessional. She was in register 2 today and we needed help and the jewelry section. There is a button to push for customer assistance. No one showed up to help and when this employee did, she said we had to get in line with an attitude. What line you ask? we don't know because Paloma the cashier walked away on purpose with attitude. There was no line. She was just pissed off because she had to leave her register and help customers at the jewelry section which clearly she doesn't wanna do. So finally Emily helped us and she was so sweet. I get it, it's christmas week, but there's a button at the jewelry section so someone can come to us. Not for us customers to get in line and then go with the cashier over to the jewelry section. Your system is crazy. Ohh and Paloma, if you hate your job quit because she was gossiping to her other co worker how she stayed working till 1 am in the morning. That's retail baby, you choose to work there. Word of advice.. watch how you talk to people you gave attitude and walked away. Next time you might not get someone as polite as me. Something that obviously you lack of. Thank you Emily. I stopped shopping at Ross for a while because I was so tired of all the mess and products crammed together. I was really surprised to see how clean and organized this location is. There was a very small mess in the toy section as kids were playing here so it's understandable but for the most part it's really clean. There's someone at the door taking count of who is coming in. Everyone wears a mask.There are also wipes for the shopping cart. Since I haven't been here in a while I forgot how inexpensive everything is. Great deals and clean. read more

Sometimes I see why ppl are getting replaced with robots, I went to the self checkout and thought it was like any other store, you scan the items, you pay and someone at the door checks the receipt and just makes sure the number of items match and date. Nope! This was my first time at this store. Once I was leaving the woman that was standing by helping for anyone that may need help, she saw me scan the two items and I bagged them and by the time I was done she was helping someone at a register right by the checkout and I started to walk towards the he door with my receipt on hand ready to show anyone. I took 5 steps and this woman said "stop, I have to check your receipt" I said "ok". So I waited for her to finish helping the customer before me and she was taking a while because she was scanning every piece of clothing the other person had. I said this defeats the self checkout because you're scanning everything over again and checking the prices on her receipt" then proceed to take my bag and she didn't answer just completely ignoring me just said have a good day. I was like whatever never again go to freaking Ross anymore. read more

I went to this store about an hour before it closed and as soon as I walked in the door the guy told me "just so you know, our store is closing in an hour", like I was completely unaware that the store would eventually close. Then they also have a self check outs but there's multiple steps to the check out. You have to check your own items out then take it to somebody separate to remove all the security tags and wait while they service multiple customers then take it to the bagging area then then take it to somebody to check your receipt. They kept screaming at us to use the self check outs, that it was so much faster than the regular checkout, but the 1 person who actually used the regular check was done in less that 2 minutes. I'd rather just do it the way it was before. The self check outs take up so much more time. I don't understand what the point of it is. read more

Clean store but self checkout has people scanning through everyone's bags and it is not efficient. Only go if you have time to sit and wait in a long queue for either a cashier or another attendant to scan most/all your items again to check. read more

This place can be both amazing or disgusting depending on when you go. I love finding good deals and I have hit the jackpot several times but I have also been disappointed several times too. The selection here can be good at times and then other times I question how they are still around. My suggestion is...1) bring better stock (Tommy Hilfiger, CK, Nautica etc.), 2) clean up/organize store better 3) hire people that are able to be polite. read more

The customer service is a joke I just had the cashier refuse to help me purchase a pair of earrings apparently she didn't want to walk over and unlock the case and insisted on taking the next customer after I had already been waiting before that person had even got into line. I like this Ross because it's cheap and they have great things but I am giving one star because the bathroom was deplorable. I felt like I was using a bathroom in a third world country. There was no toilet paper and there was feces on the floor. I was so appalled. I mean I know this isn't a high end store but I still expect cleanliness. People deserve to have a clean restroom available. The management at this store ought to be ashamed. I hope they read these comments because the health department needs to get involved. read more

Store was bright, well lit and they had working carts available. The aisles are well spaced. The shoe selection was sparse but I am sure that is not the fault of the employees. They do not have quality name brand items for career women like JONES NY, ANN KLEIN II like they use to. It was stuffy as if A/C wasn't working. Neater than a lot of the other Ross stores. read more

I came back to return some pants that didn't fit. I stood in the return line and the girls at the customer service desk kept calling next purchase. So after the 7th person I finally asked excuse me am I in the wrong line for returns?" One of the girls said " she's doing returns" I said ok, but she's called 10 different people and she's saying next purchase! So when they finally called me she says it's because we have a big line and we need to alternate but I'm not sure why 10 people were called before me! So the manager Sean was nice. I then asked him if he could explain to me the process and he did say Monica was new so they're still learning ! Customer service was less than helpful. I asked for a gift receipt a second too late apparently. The register clerk said she can't do it after the transaction goes through, it has to be done before because she hasn't been trained to do it after the transaction. I requested for her to then cancel the transaction and return items to redo transaction. She said I would need to go to "returns", which had a few people waiting in line. So I asked her, can she get someone who can come and train her or do it for her, upon which she called out to someone who appeared to be the lead person or a manager(bright red/orange hair). Her response was that I would need to go to the "return " line to get it handled, and walked away. She never made eye contact with me. Really??? I then suggested to the clerk, maybe she needs to ask beforehand if a gift receipt is needed!? No concern for quality customer service! Ugh... read more

First off, I want to start by saying I work retail. I know it sucks but Deng suck it up for a few hours. I'm really picky about customer service, it really makes or breaks the experience. This place has cleaned up over the years. I've been coming here for my random needs over the year and things have become more organized over the years. I like the cleanly appearance and how the sections are clearly labeled. As others have mentioned, they have many workers, yet only one or two are working the cashiers. Most of the time I dread it, then when I find cool stuff like Asics shoes for $13.99 (retail $65), Sperry Topsiders $9.99 (retail $65), and a Penguin Original Drivers Cap $7.99 (retails $40) I start obsessing over this place!! Giving five stars for Crystal the Manager. Earlier this morning I made a purchase at the Ross Montclair location, after returning home I realize that I was double charged for one item. So I called my nearest Ross to home (chino location) and asked if they would be able to help me, I got the ok to come in. Once I got there and up to the return station the cashier said that she could not help me WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE AND THEN PUSSED MY RECEIPT AND ITEMS BACK TO ME... She spoke to me with a attitude as if I was lying to her and didn't even make an effort to listen to my story or offer to get her higher up. So after being embarrassed I asked the cashier for her manager and she pawned me off on the security guard, nice young man by the way! So this is where Crystal comes in. I explained my situation and how the cashier refused to help me. Crystal seemed confused as to why I was being denied(we're on the same boat there). She then with no issues and within 2 minutes walked me to an open check-out line and refunded the difference for my purchase this morning. Long story short (not so short) Crystals customer service was superb! As for the young woman at the return line.. a little more training on how to handle customer issues wouldn't hurt read more
