I was told by the manager today, they could not provide a refund because there was not a Ross tag on the pants. Even with a receipt she was unwilling to do more than rattle off "Ross's policy" of no tag, no refund. I mentioned they are currently carrying the same pants, couldn't she use those as a reference? She suggested I go back to the original Ross I bought the pants (that this store is also currently carrying) for them to check the surveillance to verify I bought the pants. I don't know if this Ross has a theft problem, but I've never had to to ask security at any store to prove I bought something they're carrying I called a different Ross closer to me and explained my situation. They told me as long as I had the receipt it was no problem. I don't think I will be back at this Ross. read more

Went to Ross in Otay and now you have to scan your own stuff no more cashiers. After you have to go to a cashier to check over my reciept and ask to remove the clothing security tags. I also had large canopy i couldnt carry and i was told i can no longer take my cart outside? all the other stores around let you take there cart out. Not very happy with there customer service i asked for help and was ignored since there was only 2 cashiers and one checking our reciepts. read more

Quick trip to have a look at dome bathroom items. This location had many items and they were stocked well. There were some women's clothing items that caught my eye but when I saw how close together the racks were, and all of the messy clothes around, I decided to leave. Need to work on clearing up the merchandise for a better shopping experience. read more

Ross dress for Less, more like Ross the worst customer service. Cheap clothing, toys and home decor. The only good thing they have is art supplies for kids that won't last long. Cheaper comparable to Michael's next door. Did I mention how rude employees are? They don't care if you have any questions- they care about cleaning their hangers off bins in the front. This Ross might be a mid size store, but it is pretty new, only about 16 reviews so far, but it had some of the items that I was planning to buy the last few visits at other Ross, and now they just screaming at me and telling me to buy them lol. I was eyeing this pair of MK slides, so I guess I am buying it today, plus I found my Champion cap here as well with a great unique design, and finally I got another pair of Adidas flip flop, just in time for my upcoming trip to Asia, so I need to buy some comfortable to wear. I noticed they're very lacking on backpacks for some reasons, but their wall of men slides are huge, so if you're gonna get something unique, maybe this is the place, low stock but got some cool stuffs. read more

A lack of customer service. A line of customers wrapping around the aisle and several Ross Associates standing behind the counter talking. And talking. And talking. Were they having an impromptu team building meeting? Perhaps. Perhaps if that meeting was to discuss what constitutes "a crop top." Opinions flowed. And other workers weighed in. And we all eagerly listened and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, a male associate approached the conversation and raised his hands up high, lifting his shirt and revealing his hairy belly....in what I can only imagine...was to prove that he, too, knew what a crop top was. This is a new location so the store itself was clean. We were quickly greeted by security as we walked in. It's a decent size store and I like how they have the price comparison tickets on each item. Because it's a new store, most items seem very clean with very little ripped packages. Those are saved for the older stores -hahaha. The main thing about this location, is it seems very disorganized and lots of empty shelves and baskets. We found lots of items that seem to just be thrown in an area, with no emphasis on merchandising or structure. There was a lot less brand name items here than say TJ Maxx. If I'm in Otay, I would prefer to go there instead. We'll be back but will let the store "break itself in" that way there are more items and stuff. read more

Store employee violated ADA by questioning my disability when I politely asked if I can finish my drink with a lid on it since I recently gave myself insulin right before. She spoke to me as if I was stupid, asked questions after I briefly explained my situation, interrupted my friend as she came to my defense, and had a poor attitude when I was asking her calmly and politely. If she would have met me with a kinder attitude or asked to get clarification from a manager, then it would have been a totally different experience. The manager there is SOO rude. i was asking about some item I forgot and she didnt approach me nicely. She thought i was trying to steal or something. Treated like if I was a thief. She also said that what I forgot wasnt what I was telling her..I literally gave her $15 for her lunch because clearly the associate did not pack my item.. And not to mention she knew I was waiting for her help and she was at the cash register helping about 8 customers while staring at me not caring. Small store, but clean. My coworker friend and I stopped in here on our dinner break one evening and only had to spend about ten minutes to check on all our usual favorite sections. We left with a couple of good finds but it was a quick trip. This new incorporated part of Chula Vista is really nice so I'm glad to see that they got a Ross here for people who are stuck out this way but need a break and some retail therapy every once in awhile! read more

New location is comparable to all the other locations. This new location is located across the street from Otay ranch mall in the new business with Jamba Juice, Starbucks plus world market. An abundance of parking. Nothing special. Customer service average. Aisle modestly cleaned. For the most part, the store was pretty tidy and neat. Clothes and shoes on the floor, just look the other Ross locations. I found a few good deals. read more

I get people love this place, but to me all I see the future of my neighborhood just getting bigger and packed with chusma. Yeah the layout is clean for the time being, but I've seen the rest of the chain stores.... eventually all the clothes will be in the floor and the lines will be 35 minute waits with crying and naggy ass kids. Picture frames and useless trinkets all around the store just lying around. Husbands hanged out by the front door waiting on their wife's to finish shopping or paying just ready to get the hell out that place. Clothes selection is the same as the others, not just because it's Otay Ranch so the get the fancier Nike, Puma, Adidas ir whatever other big name brand messed up clothes you like. It's the same unwanted rejections that the other stores get too. It's all there! I still just see my property value going up financially, but going down spiritually. read more

HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE customer service from a girl named Yliana. She has no respect for a customer. Unfriendly and disrespectful. She hit me with one of the things they push around and had no decency to apologize. She was laughing instead of apologizing and later when I'm still shopping a manager comes up to me so rudely and meanly he talks to me. Luis was his name. Instead of apologizing he tells me to get out of the store for upsetting the girl. Very rude. He doesn't deserve to be manager. But desperate times calls for desperate measures. Today, I went around 2:00pm and it was first time here since they opened. As soon as I get there I see that the ladies shoes are stocked up! So many options compared to other Ross stores,already I was satisfied. As I made my way through the store it's very clean and many things! So I would definitely come back soon. The only thing that I found unprofessional was that there was two employees fooling around while I was at checkout talking about things that I don't think is appropriate when you're with a customer. New location, friendly staff, good parking. Located right across the street from Otay Ranch Town Center. I expected more but this location is pretty small! They are mainly focusing on clothing here so that was the turn off for me. The day I went the shelves were pretty empty too. Right next door is HomeGoods and WorldMarket! Huge plus!! read more

I visited this new store in my neighborhood, for the first time today. I was extremely disappointed. The store was in disarray and the line ... the checkout line, was ridiculous. It was a Monday, mid day visit. I stood in line for well over 20 minutes. There were 3 check stands open, one taking returns only, even though it wasn't a return cashier counter. The return line consistently kept replenishing with one customer at a time. They would wait for a minute or two, then be called ahead of the rest of the long line waiting to check out. The employees that weren't cashiering, seemed to think that organizing hangars and chit chatting were more important. Everyone in line waiting to check out was feeling irritated. I know this, because we were all vocalizing how we felt about it. It will be a long time before I return to this store. Very disappointing! Hope they're able to fix it, soon read more

went to Ross and Lost an umbrella there. I let employees know. No one actually cared to ask what it looked like or if they can help to find it, not even loss prevention. called back next day to ask if anyone had turned it in, not sure if i was understood. Person on phone was not fluent in English. I am bilingual myself and feel that customer service is a necessity that comes with being able to understand others. In addition I was put on hold for 10 minutes. finally I hung up and called once again. same person answered but could not answer me, I asked to speak with Loss prevention, and then asked to speak to security. someone else came on the phone who spoke english and was able to tell me, no one had turned in any umbrella. I understand these things happen, although I feel there should be a priority towards the customer. after all that is why we have jobs. read more

Everything is very organized and the prices are easy to find. This is my go to Ross location to go shopping. Excellent staff, friendly and professional. A+ customer service.
