I think this is a relatively new Ross -- now located on the north side of Hillsboro Boulevard instead of in its previous location across the street. Everything seemed quite neat and clean. The store is large with quite a bit of inventory. Merchandise is neatly arranged in racks by categories. It was very easy to navigate. I took the opportunity to browse the women's clothing sections and a few other areas. I only bought a couple things from the housewares section -- on sale. But there were quite a few dresses that I liked and would have bought a few years back, but now I have no need for "working" clothes. My husband also browsed a bit. The men's section is much smaller than the women's clothing area. He did see a really inexpensive pair of jeans he almost bought, but decided against it. He did wind up getting a wallet, here, however. Cost wise, clothing was very reasonably priced. And as it was an organized store, I'd go back in the future to check them out again if I was in the neighborhood. read more

My 1st time at this location. They had a Long line with 2 cashiers. It's not so bad if you feel like they care or give you an ounce of customer service but the cashier was so involved with her conversation with another worker, who was not manning a register, I'm not even sure if she actually looked at me. That just frustrates me. The stores isn't bad a little tight in the isles and a decent selection of items. I really like the prices so my only criticism is I would say cashiers should be more trained for customer service. A "thank you" or "have a nice day" goes a long way! read more

Went to this Ross late on a weeknight and I was pretty impressed with the way the staff was trying to keep everything cleaned and organized. The shoes weren't chaotic, the clothes were all well organized. And the fact that they're open until 11pm is super convenient for people who work later hours but need to go shopping after work on a weekday like I did. They had great deals and cute stuff! read more

The young kids are into unicorns and I was looking for gifts with the unicorn theme. I came to the right place with Ross. I found the cutest unicorn backpacks! I saw about 3 design styles.The toddler clothes are super affordable! The adult clothes weren't a hit. Nothing suited my style and they were low on inventory in my size (xsmall) The inventory was actually low on everything except kids stuff. The staff didn't have much customer service. Ross is a chain of discount department stores founded in 1950 in California by Morris "Morrie" Ross. In 1958 Ross sold his store to a real estate developer who franchised the store to 6 locations. In the 1980's the stores were sold to real estate investors who grew the brand. The company now operates 1,483 stores in 37 U.S. states. I have a love hate relationship with this chain. Their prices are great and everything else is horrible. The checkout line is always long, the dressing rooms are disgusting, and they treat you like you have already shoplifted them. Still out of all the Ross stores in the area, this is probably the best one. Whenever I need dress, I head here. On a recent trip I was able to get a $20 Calvin Klein black dress for my father-in-law's funeral. On this outing I was looking for a dress to attend a wedding and found two candidates both in the $20 range. In addition to clothes they also have really great items in their housewares department as well as designer handbags and shoes. If you don't mind the way they treat their customers then you can score some great deals. Fortunately for me I don't need to come here too often. read more

This place has gone downhill. The merchandise is sparse and mostly poor quality. The employees seem miserable and angry. The cashiers can't be bothered to tear off your receipt and put in in your bag. There are vagrants sleeping outside the store, I feel sad for them but it's depressing and sad. I can't see how they stay in business with these horrible attitudes. Better off at TJ max or Marshalls. This place is just scary read more

The only reason I stopped in here yesterday was because my wife needed me to buy something. I went in for one thing and waited 22 minutes to check out. The line started in the middle of the store! Bring your personal armor. Not all but enough are so negative and delay the most simple tast. My last visit the cashier refused to touch my receipt because she deemed it "dirty". The store is a cesspool of germs from all the employees, patrons, children's hands which touch every surface at the store. Coughing, sneezing, etc. I dont see people using hand sanitizer. This employee spent 10- 15minues minutes doing a return with a receipt because she refused to touch the receipt. Meanwhile everyone online was being delayed. She also refused to walk a few steps to put on gloves. After this bit of theatre, reverse discrimination, who knows. she returned to touching every surface without any hand protection or apparent concern for cleanliness. Bizarre!! I would love an explanation from management. read more

I have had decent experiences at other Ross locations but this store was a true disaster. The good news is there is plenty of parking, the bad news is that's the only positive thing I could possibly say about this store. As soon as I walked into the store I smelled a funky odor. Body odor, perhaps? I needed a last minute gift & I was hoping to pick up a candle, picture frame or perhaps a nice vase. I didn't even make it to the home decor department because the smell was so bad & I wanted to leave as quickly as possible. With the exception of the two cashiers, I didn't see any other workers. I didn't pay attention to the merchandise so I can't comment on if everything was organized or not. I was anxious to leave as the smell was making me nauseous. I feel a visit from corporate is desperately needed to see for themselves the condition that this store is in. It's that bad. I went to the nearby Target & found a great gift, paid for it and I did this all without gagging or holding my nose. The weekend after a hurricane is not the ideal time to shop, much less if you're in the small minority of women who do not enjoy it! That said, I had no choice prior to my upcoming weekend getaway to H-town. It is what it is...so I went Ross-hopping! This store has been and still remains one of the cleanest, tidiest stores in the chain. Customer service is steadfast with no improvement, but security is great and make up for it! Whenever I've needed assistance, security is my first point of contact and they get the job done! As to the merchandise, they consistently have items that I can't find at other stores. In fact, I found my brunch dress and shoes, my daughter's dress for the wedding, along with a CK backpack I had been wanting for the plane ride, all at half price (of course)! Not the best Ross I've been to, but certainly not the worst. From what I saw, the store was decently organized except for the shoes. Optimistically, I went over thinking I could find browse my size of shoes. Nope! In the '8' section, there were 6s, 7s, and other sizes therefore, I said, "forget it" and walked away. I did find some great deals on petite and junior clothing. I'm excited to return for more bargains. I'm so happy they knocked down the crummy Albertson's and put in a Ross at this location. This is a relatively newer Ross and demand that I visit each time I'm in SoFla. I like to go in the mornings when it's just me and the blue hairs from Century Village, our taste and size seems to differ so it's like I have no shopping nemesis! It's clean, child less, orderly and quiet. The fitting room attendants are actually nice and say hi--I feel like I never get that down here anymore. Worse customer service, there is one older African American lady in particular who treats customers like we were giving her too much work for asking questions about items behind the counter. I was always polite when I asked to see a purse which are under a security lock the woman was too busy to show it to me. Customer Service is hard to find. I dont expect legendary service so this 3 star rating isnt as bad as it sounds. Went in to buy some clothes here on my lunch break and was told by the dressing room attendant that I had to hang my clothes back on the hangers. I said, "Since when?" she said that's our policy now, it's just a courtesy, I said, I'm on my lunch break and I'm kinda in a hurry, not to mention the fact that I'm a paying customer and not an employee. i said, No i'm not hanging the clothes back that's your job. She said, in that case I'm not letting you try on any more clothes. I walked away. I went to the checkout line and stood in line in front of the next customer. The returns woman asked, "Are you returning something?" I said no, she said, "You're in the wrong line, you need to be behind that lady". I said, I am standing behind that lady. I told the manager of my experience here and he pretty much agreed with the both of them on every point, I made the case that, Why aren't there any signs that show where to go? they said, we can't afford signs. Very professionally unprofessional, if that makes sense. Since this encounter I had a similarly bad experience at the turtle-run Ross store as well. This is a poorly run store. I always hate to review businesses like this, but the consumer and manager should PROBABLY know. There is never anyone working at the register here. This is the biggest problem, hands down. There isn't always the longest of lines (probably lack of business), but even when you are "next" in line, you're bound to wait 10 minutes. The reason I'm finally giving my opinion of this place is due to a total lack of respect from a cashier. I was waiting in line, and there was one person doing both returns and purchases. When it was finally my turn (after waiting 10+min), the cashier gets my attention by repeatedly saying, "Return! Retuuuuuurn!" So I smile, and make my purchase, disregarding her unprofessional manner. The entire time she is waiting on me, she is on a personal phone call, using a cordless headphone device. Again I dismiss the behavior, but then it gets more irritating when her conversations with whomever include profanity and irritable tones in her voice. I'm guessing maybe a fight with a significant other? I really hope they aren't paying her much. read more
