I really needed a new large casserole for a hot yogurt soup I was making at home. So I went to Ross and found a very nice one that was $42, there was a very big dent in it. But I figured that because it's Friday they probably have a lower price on it anyway. No, such luck. Asked the manager for a discount. He went on about how it will work perfectly fine and still good and only gave me seven dollars off the $42 price. Personally, I didn't need lecture and I don't think he even really cared or wanted to give me a discount. There was a long line shoppers, and if you use the self check out, security wants to go over exactly how many items you purchased, remove the tags and make sure that everything was scanned properly. Selection is always hit or mess. Luck of the draw. I lucked out with a few hello kitty items which are usually sold out in Irvine but they had lots! Unfortunately you have to wait in the horrible line that took 30min. Only 2 cashiers working and 1 went off to help a customer who was taking forever. So that left 1 person to ring you up. Should have gone over to the self checkout. But even there, they had to wait in line to exit?? Not sure what that was all about but the had to wait too. And I have been finding some really cute clothing items recently. Like cuter (& cheaper) than TJ Maxx/Marshalls. I rarely pay more than $9-12 for dresses and get lots of compliments when I wear my Ross fits. This store is open late and has self checkout now!!! Of all the Ross locations, I've never seen one with employees so very rude. My boyfriend simply wanted to look inside a suitcase before he bought it but the person at the desk said no. Some of the suitcases have the security tags on there so that you can't open the suitcase and it's a simple matter to adjust it without totally removing the tag. Then we overheard a customer asking for a senior discount and being told by the same person that it was too late and you must tell her before it's been paid for. She really should have redone the transaction instead of answering so rudely. I'm still stunned by that behavior. read more

The store is a little dirty and rundown, but they have a lot of good deals. Was looking for car seat covers, and you can buy a set here for under $20. And...if you're at least 40 years old, they will give you the senior discount on Tuesdays. DO NOT SHOP HERE! They have jack in the box in the corner, so i walked in with my coffee super happy. I had just opened the door when "Julie" "loss prevention" rushed at me and said in a loud-ishh tone "no drinks." I said ok "I didn't know." And she told me a little louder and said "no drinks!" So I stood there for a sec and stared at her as if I hadn't heard her the first time and I asked why she was yelling at me. She said in an even louder tone. "Theres a sign outside." I know I'm blind but the door I went thru only had a mask required sign. So I went outside. At this point you're being petty I can look for your sign and be a little petty too then. I didn't have my reading glasses, so I just took a picture of it. Went back to the car. Set my coffee down, took off my sun glasses and in 20 seconds later I walked back thru those doors and her fake a** goes "Hello welcome to Ross" in such a nice tone. You get what you pay for. This place has been around for a long while and I've seen a different face working there pretty much every time I visit. Some workers are friendly and some - not so much. I was shocked I was asked to walk my cart over to where people walk in (no where near where you exit) when I leave. What I despise the most is how clothes are crammed into a bag with any attempt to fold at all. It would be so nice to actually wear a piece of new clothing without having to iron it! Makes me crazy but this place isn't alone in this behavior. It's cleanliness is spotty but again - you get what you pay for. The parking is plentiful and they do offer senior discounts on Tuesday's. The loss prevention lady that was there in self check out is down right nasty ! She yelled at us while leaving that she needs to check our receipt after purchasing sure no problem I go and put the cart away with my baby while my daughter hands her the bag and the receipt so she can do her due diligence her job and as I'm putting the cart away I hear her yelling at my daughter that she is rude I turn around and ask my 10-year-old what's going on and she is telling me that the ladies telling her that she is rude yelling at her and I go on and tell the manager how her loss prevention associate is yelling at a minor not OK and as I'm speaking to the manager the loss prevention lady then thinks it's OK to come and tell me how my daughter is rude and I ask her how so and if she is being rude you need to address it with me that I am the mother the adult and don't you dare yell at my child shame on you for yelling at a 10-year-old if you have an issue address it with the parent who are you to scold my daughter I really hope that there is some disciplinary actions against her because this is not OK this is my home Ross and I will definitely not be returning due to that lady's nasty attitude read more

This has to be one of the worst Ross store locations I have ever experienced. There are alarms going off in shoes on both sides of the store and no employee pays any attention at all. They literally walk past without even looking. Not a pleasant shopping experience for anyone. Clothing thrown all over the floors doesn't get a glance either. The customers seem to get the energy of the store as nobody cares because they hit each other with carts and just keep going. Such an unfortunate example of really poor management here. The cashier seemed irritated and commented to the man in front of me because he hadn't removed the hangers before approaching the cashier. I have never been in any other Ross store where they expect customers to remove the hangers from the purchase before reaching the cashier so I guess it's too much work for them to remove hangers and it warrants irritated comments to older people who don't know about this expectation. Just all in all a very disappointing place to shop. I vote no on this Ross location. read more

Not a huge fan of their merchandise, set up, service or how they run their business in general. Understaffed, there is always a long wait to pay, not enough people at the register or in store to help. Quality is not the best, but you can find good deals here, i usually go for decor, bedding or curtains, the clothes are not my thing. If it were not for the great prices I would not bother to come here at all, but I usually leave wishing I did not bother. Would suggest to shop at any other Ross. I ended up waited in line to purchase a 3-piece dog toy set that was rds stolen. I then asked the clerk if I could get a discount on the set as it only had 1 toy in it. The clerk then called her manager who questioned how I knew 2/3rds of the item was missing. As if the ripped package was not enough, I then had to read to the store manager the product description detailing the three items that should be included. The manage then told her clerk to provide a 50% discount. The clerk then rang up the item at full price. Upon questioning the total I was told she couldn't do anything else so I left without the toy.
