I was in the area and checking out some of the shops in this spot. I actually didn't think the location was super packed. I was on the hunt for some parts (one of the most traumatic things to shop for, in my opinion), but this store had a large selection to choose from--clearance area and regular section. I ended up finding a pair of black jeans for under $20 (almost unheard of). The cosmetics/beauty products were also a mix of department store items and discounted options, but I found some decently priced cleanser from Shisedo and an off brand moisturizer for a fraction of the cost. When I went to check out, I was suckered in by the drinks and snacks they merchandise by the front. I ended up with a water, Lychee Peelerz (best price I've seen so far), and some crisped rice snacks individually packaged. Since I took a bit of time, my husband went to investigate and walked out with some slippers that he had been needing. Honestly, mostly organized, clean, and helpful staff. Dear Ross shoppers. They are now trying to check your bags when you leave. They have a little security area next to the One cashier there, so they can see what is being rung up. And then two feet later, a security guard asks to see your receipt. This is the second time I have said no thank you as they legally cannot ask, but the security girl lunged at my bag today and tried to grab it from my hand. Ma'am, this item was paid for, right in front of you. One item. And it is now My Private Property. You are not a club store and I don't have a membership so Do Not ask to look in my stuff again. You have no legal Right to. Keep walking people. This is not legal to do and they cannot stop You if you say no thank you. i think its great that they are check shoppers now way too many people were stealing from ross so often that it made me not want to shop there anymore just from the atmosphere but i think its a good idea and there shouldnt be a problem with getting things checked after paying it only takes 2 seconds. :) read more

Definitely the largest, cleanest and most well stocked Ross that I have been to in the Phoenix area thus far. I was actually pretty surprised when I walked in and saw the layout and how vast it was and all that was in there, without feeling like things were stacked up on top of each other - like at some other Ross locations. I found a few more tea-light candles in the colors we are using for our wedding and the prices couldn't be beat even on some of the major websites. I took a quick look through the shoe section and the holiday seasonal items and everything was really nicely organized - which is saying something when we are talking about shoe sections at a Ross. Overall: A Unless I find a Ross that is a touch closer to our house that is the same as this one, I declare this Ross the winner in the Northeast Phoenix area. read more

I must begin by confessing... I am a Ross-junkie. It's a zen-like experience for me to wander the Ross aisles finding amazing deals on everything ranging from handbags to housewares to clothing to blank journals. I have frequented almost every Ross in the greater Phoenix area and was THRILLED when they built one in my very own neighborhood. (My husband was a little nervous for our bank account.) This particular Ross has exceeded my Ross store expectations on more than one occasion. It's WAY cleaner and well kept than any other. The staff is warm and friendly. There always appears to be an attentive manager present and I almost always witness employees cleaning and organizing sections while I shop (unheard of at other locations). As another yelper pointed out, the check-out staff take special care of any fragile items I purchase and when I've purchased more than my little hands can carry -- this happens often -- they have usually summoned carry out help before I even have to ask. This is the best Ross store I have been in! No Long lines to wait in, Order in the gift and house ware area, unmatched by any other Ross have been in! Order in the the clothing section, nothing on the floor, nothing falling off the hangers and shelves. Found some great deals in the house ware section. Asked a man that works there for a price on 3 items in the home section and actually got answers with price tags on them within a few minutes, like under ten minutes! The cashier was caring and careful with my glass purchases, wrapping them each and double bagging my purchase. Thank you Jordan (associate 105548). This is by far worth the trip and I can't wait to return to shop this Ross again. I don't think you can get me to another one now. It wasn't packed with people and screaming out of control kids. I would really give them more like 2 1/2. I have shopped at this location several times in the past since they are close by. This location used to be a good location to buy luggage but sadly they no longer have the selection they once had. They do have pretty good prices on their items but you can do better sometimes at the large department stores when they have their big sales. My big issue is on returns. I bought a pair of slacks a while back about the same time I was buying slacks at a few other places. They did not have a very good selection in my size at the time but I did find one pair. By the way I could not even find any men's slacks, just jeans. Anyway they were the only pair of slacks I purchased that did not fit and they were the same size so clearly the incorrect size was on the garment. I finally got back to the store to return them today. I told the woman the issue. She said they would only give me store credit since I did not have the receipt and they would not refund the amount I paid! They gave me around half of what I paid, the amount they would have marked down the slacks if they were still in the store. The explanation was just "store policy". If I was just reviewing their store policy I would give them a 1 because they got the garment back with all the tags attached and gave me a discounted amount which I think is terrible store policy. I guess I was being charged a rental fee! So If you ever need to return anything to Ross do not delay as it will cost you! read more

I like this Ross. I don't necessarily always buy something there but you can find some really good deals. The people are always friendly and never over sell. They ask if they can help you find something and if you say "Thanks, just looking", they leave you to it. The atmosphere is friendly and COOL. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood, as it's large and clean. If your major experience of Ross is the one at Christown, which always seems on the verge of gang wars, this is much better. If you have the option of going to Arizona Mills, or even Arcadia Crossing, those have better selections. read more

Great in store appearance most of the time but this store lacks in other areas such as customer service. The one associate manning customer service sometimes will have a huge line and when calling for help will be left hanging at the register which leaves the customers hanging as well. This store is low in customer volume overall so has less items compared to other stores. Will at times have people loitering outside asking for money. read more

Thursday I walked into this store to just browse about. I was pretty dead, and I notices a lot of the employees just lulling about. I decided to try a few things on where I met Kona one of the nicest and most hard working I have ever seen hired at a Ross. Unlike the other employees this girl was really earning her pay check. When I first walked up she was working on re-organizing the infant section. She smiled politely to me and walked over to check my items. When I came back out I she was re tagging some of the items whose tags had been misplaced. She looked up and apologized for the wait(even though it had to be no more than 30 secs). Well we got to talking about things, and I must say it was pleasant, not awkward like some people can be. She when I had asked her if she liked working she had said pleasantly that she could use more to do. This made me laugh, normally when I ask this question I get all kinds of unpleasantness, but this girl was just all smiles when she answered. As I was leaving I notices they were sending her on break. As she made her way to the break room she straighten out the toy area. I kind of felt bad for the girl cause not two minutes later did some unruly kid come by and trash it. I know this store should get like a 3 but this girl was just worth the extra 2 points. If you happen to be near this Ross go and check the girl out for yourselves. She is just too good to be true. read more
