I was recently there, and although the store was clean enough, it didn't seem to have a very good choice of clothing. I was very disappointed that they only had the two very small dressing room rooms open at the time and there was a very long line. I had to wait about 15 minutes just to get into the dressing room somebody had been one of the dressing rooms the whole time I was waiting. Okay selection, found some cute clothes. When I went to try on clothes they told me to move over so they can do an "elbow check". When I asked what she meant, she said if you walk over here I can tell you exactly. I told her I don't feel comfortable with that and took my items. I think she was checking to see if I was hiding anything. I was wearing a tight shirt sleeve shirt. Since when do they check people like that? Still can't give more than 1 star for Ross. The company has the capacity to look up your credit card purchases with them for a return, yet they will not. I had items to return purchased 6 days ago. All the tags were attached & clothes never worn. My receipt had been in the bag, but must have blown away. If I could I would give 0 stars. I went shopping just to see what they have. Sometimes there is good finds. Anyways I picked out four bras and wanted to try them on. As you know if you are a woman bras are tricking and you must try them on before buying. I asked to try them on a girl at the counter said "excuse me! Absolutely not!" I asked to speak to a manger. The manager came out took the bras I wanted to try hostage and refused to let me try them on. The employees and manager implied I would steal. Safe to say I threw a fit which I'd admit. But as a woman your going to stop me from trying on undergarments. It's not even underwear. This is absolutely disgusting. Pictures attached. And here is for the manager who said I can't take a picture of his face but I can of his name tag. LAW-One cannot have a reasonable expectation of privacy in things held out to the public. Horrible customer service the receipts fade and the manager/assistant manager said she can't read them but I'm half blind and I can read the bloody number. Every time I try to return anything to the store if I get helped by the store manager or maybe she's the assistant manager, Hispanic woman 60s maybe 70s claims every single time it's the wrong receipt or the numbers match or she can't read them, she claims something every time. So then you hop back in the car and drive it across town and they don't seem to have any problem, I have even said to the clerk in the other town, the lady in RP said it didn't match or was unreadable, and the clerk told me "it's fine, but we hear that about that store all the time". Now it'll be after Christmas before I make my return, and I will visit the store in the next town and I guarantee they read the number and match it up without an issue. The only thing I can think of is that they must ding her bonus for returns, because she always says to take it back to the store where you bought it, so I guess Ross isn't a corporation! read more

This Ross is nicer than some I've been in, and has a nice ever-changing array of clothing and accessories for the home/bed/bath. I've found some real bargains here over the years. If you find it, buy it, cuz it won't be here tomorrow if you wait. Now just cuz I said it's nicer than some, don't get your hopes up. There are still clothes on the floor and sizes out of order, but I attribute that mostly to the patrons who don't pick up what they drop or don't put something back when they change their mind about it. Staffing is minimal so they don't have time to pick up after everyone. Prices and quality are good on the bedding and bath linens, and they have a nice selection of pet accessories and beds. Expect to stand in a fairly long line at checkout during busy lunch & after work hours. Don't expect anyone to be available to help you. My last big bargain was a gorgeous Carlos Santana purse. It normally retails for over $100 & I picked it up for around $50. It's garnered many compliments in the past few months, and I didn't pay too much, thanks to Ross. Money saving tip: Tuesdays they offer seniors a 10% discount, but because they don't want to be accused of discrimination (that part's my guess - I don't really know) they'll give you the discount regardless of your age if you ask for it. read more

Came in at 9am, staff seemed unfriendly and displeased that I came into shop. Found what I needed on my own, while staff avoided eye contact. Cashier seemed unwelcoming and cold, was perplexed with the whole experience but I was glad I was able to get my child's shoes but I won't be returning to this location. I know losing one customer won't hurt them too much but at least this experience will help them lighten up and actually help the customers. read more

I have been to probably 30 different Ross Stores in the Bay Area. This is one of the better ones. I think because of its location it has ok items and doesn't get the traffic and "as trashed" like other stores do. If you have been to a few you will know what I am talking about. read more

Took back a jacket that I had the receipt for, but the Ross tag never made it home with me, but the jacket name was clear on the manufactures tag "CURRY" and the receipt clearly stated "CURRY" the manager and the sales clerk are talking to each other about me in Spanish (this behavior is actually very common at many of the Northern California Ross'), this, so you know, when you don't speak Spanish and you know the sales people do too, is like having sales clerks whispering about you, it's rude when they are obviously doing this on purpose . The Manager says she doesn't see "yellow" on the receipt, the jackets color is yellow, so sometimes it might say "yellow" but other times it might say the name of the item. When it's pointed out to her by the clerk and by myself, she then states she can't read it, the receipt is in really bad condition. Well since Ross uses heat receipts they do tend to fade with age, but the name and the item number are clear enough I can read every number fine. When I state this she says "well my eyes are really bad..." SERIOUSLY! I'd say your customer service is much worse than your eyes! She didn't even try to type it in, she didn't ask the other clerk (who could obviously read it since she also say "Curry" without any problem. This isn't abnormal for this woman, I have had her refuse to sell a clearance item before saying she had never seen the item before, not sure what that has to do with anything, but the price went from 19.99 clearance to $39.99, so I didn't bother. She is regularly difficult to deal with, not sure why, I usually just avoid this store because of her, but The next closest store closes much earlier than I thought. But as of now, I am not at all happy with this store and it's staff. I will visit the other store later in the week and there won't be one snarky comment or a single glitch with the return. Terrible store!!! I have been trying to get some things returned, but I am always misplacing my receipts. After Christmas shopping at the mall and Burlington I had about thirty minutes so I decided I would try to get a couple things out of my car. The tags were attached, the receipts were in hand and the woman at the register kept saying she had to get everything approved. All three items were on different receipts, I had bought a jacket at my local store, just a black spider puff jacket, the receipt states the description in abbreviations, if I hadn't of just bought it I would have never figured out what it was for, well the manager went looking for the same coat in his store, stating he didn't recognize it, I have bought Spider at Ross for the last two years, when I bought it, it was after Black Friday and it was the only one I saw, so the fact that they didn't have one wasn't really a surprise. So I stated I'll just take that one back to the store where I bought it, which is my home town so a pain but not impossible. The next item was a black Levi Jacket, again with the tags and were attached and the description was actually readable, but the manager stated he didn't want to do anymore returns that I could just take everything back to the original store, in this case it was the Santa Rosa store, I don't live in Santa Rosa and they are now closed, so once again I will have to haul the thing round in the car, hopefully not loosing the receipt (or have it fade so it's unreadable) or not get back to the store in the window of time to qualify for my money back, which tonight would have been that, but in a couple of days it will be over thirty days. When I left I told the manager I would be writing a negative yelp review, and my experience was horrible. He stated "Then why did you come to our store?" Seriously!!! Unaccommodating, hostile return process and top off the visit with a nasty comment. I think he intentionally makes returns difficult so no one will want to make returns at his store. I will avoid this Ross in the future, no real loss, this is one of the worst Ross' in the Bay Area, I rarely find anything here. I spend at least $500 a month at discount stores: Ross, Burlington, Marshall's ... I commute the 101 for work and try to hit as many as I can before they close and Ross was often my first choice because there are so many that if I need to return/exchange I could easily pop into one and they have late hours, and I Work nights so evenings to closing are my hours. However experiences like this really turn me off, right now the thought of going to a Ross store doesn't feel me with the hope I will find a gem, but dread that I will have another terrible experience. read more

My new nickname for the Rohnert Park Ross: Pet Peeve palace! On a positive note, I bought what I came for- a few ceramic pots at a great price and I got a hearty "Welcome to Ross" from a young man with a patch that says SECURITY. I've got to disclose that because of knee problems, getting around is already difficult and painful. I'm using a cane and knee brace. Pet peeve #1) No clear pathway. I had to navigate through a line of people to get to the section I wanted to get to. Awkward". Pet Peeve #2) Allowing people to "take cuts". when I was ready no one else was waiting so I stood with my cart and waited for the cashier to invite me forward. Out of no where, a man walked right up to her and purchased items. I asked, " Where am I supposed to stand to get rung up?" A customer showed me that I was a few inches away from the spot. Then another woman with an armful of clothes walked there and the cashier called her up. The greeter/ security just watched. Pet Peeve #3) They don't let you take carts to your car! I had several heavy pots and other items! Cashier said I could get my car and park in front. Pet Peeve #4) Employees who just stand around and don't assist customers. A young healthy male employee standing just watched me limping and struggling to carry heavy items through a door and pack into a car. Who raised him? Also- slim pickings. read more

What happened? This store is just a mess. I went in for one item. The racks are so crammed with clothes that it would have taken me hours to even find something. The clothing looks cheap and foreign. There was not one thing I would spend my money on. Not one person in the store looked like they wanted to help and they certainly didn't look like they wanted to work either. This was so bad that I won't even bother to go back; a total waste of time. The store itself is so univiting and untidy that is belongs in a backwater somewhere. I bought a pair of shoes from "Ross Dress for Less" and I tried them on in store, they fit, so I bought them. I went to try them on again at home, took a few steps and they were such terrible quality I decided to return them two days later. However once I got to the store I was advised of Ross' return policy, and found out that it's egregious. Establishments should always have the ability to look up a purchase via the card you used to pay for the merchandise... Ross doesn't have this capability, so they require you to retain your receipt and then and ONLY then will you receive your funds back when returning an item. They offer you store credit using your photo id and here's the thing.. I'm returning this merchandise because it was of VERY POOR QUALITY, why would I want store credit when I have no plans of ever buying from this horrible store? Toys R Us just closed all of its stores and it makes me wonder how this establishment is able to remain viable. Also, the woman who was assisting me with the return, was SO rude and sleazy I couldn't believe she was in a customer service position. read more

I go there for all kinds of clothes, fancy, casual, moderate. There is lots of selection and there is a lot more than just clothes too. Just when in to make a quick return so I was hoping... Only to find out that they took away the returns only line for the holidays.. Not that anyone really knew the difference in the store... Or paid attention to who was standing in line... I have been cut in front of on more than one occasion because the cashier wasn't paying attention because she just said next instead of looking up in this store.. there is simply no organization. In all honesty I'd rather go to Montgomery Village. They have a better selection anyways. Rohnert Park just happened to be on my way home.. I just went into this department store with a friend of mine and we didn't even make it five steps into the door before we were confronted by their security/loss prevention. The two women claimed I was some lady who had came into the store within the recent past and had tried too get away with SHOPLIFTING a bottle of perfume..... not only had they falsely accused me of being this woman who had shop lifted.... They also accused me in front of other costumers and employees while kicking me out embarrassing me and my friend. The selection of things are great. Purses and shoes are my weakness and they always have a nice choice. I recently started perusing other sections and found some super cute tops for a very good price. If you are in the market for really cute little girl or baby clothes they have some nice ones. One of my girlfriends went there just the other day and found a really beautiful hope-chest for $40. The main huge downfall is there is never more than 1 in a great while 2 checkers. So be prepared to wait a long time in line for what you want. read more
