First time seeing some cool design slides for Michael Kors here, I wish they had those for men, I would wear them all day :) also first time I have seen Champion design logo for hat, so I had to buy one, they have juniors and toddlers clothes section but no shoes which was kind of weird, also the place seems very short on staffs and security, one greeter/ security at the entrance, their jewelry and designer watches also low, instead of having a big display, they had a small one by the exit, very unlikely compare to regular Ross, their items were seemingly untouched, I noticed a True Religion bag had been there for 6 months ago, still sitting there, hmm, I would say you might lucky to find stuffs you wanted to buy last year but didn't want to, now it's your chance read more

Tonight is a headache for shoppers. They only have 2 fitting rooms at the front of the store open because the normal ones are closed tonight since they don't have enough workers working (we have seen 2 store associates & 2 loss prevention specialists) the whole store. The 2 associates are nice young ladies but they are working their butts off to help everyone. 1 checkout and 1 person to out things away. Its a mess. So much for our "quick shopping trip" pop-in to Ross. We should have gone to Marshalls or Burlington instead first. Update: We just saw 2 more workers come in. They must have been called in to work the last 3 hours of the store. Hopefully they open the fitting rooms. read more

This is one of the more put together Ross locations I've ever been to! I think I even told the cashier it was the nicest. It's located in Claremont Town Square so you know parking is not going to be an issue. I'm talking right up front no matter what day or time you're there. I walk in and the store is borderline immaculate. There is no crowded rolling rack or fixture action where shirts are spraying off in every which direction. The pants are not looking like people tried them on right in the aisle and then half hazardly bludgeoned them back on to the hanger so that they are diagonally amuck on the rack. The clothes were neatly placed and spaced on each rack as if the discount clothing fairy had come down and waved her magic wand to create this mirage. On this visit, I was looking for a dog bowl. Upon entering the pet aisle I was brought back into reality. The fairy ran out of pixie dust or something because this aisle looked like it was trashed. There wasn't a lot of inventory and the food and drink mats for dogs all looked like they were either pre-used, stepped on or both. I wanted to buy one, but sorry...I'm not having that mess in my house. The bowl was good enough for this visit. read more

Did you know that this location does not ALLOW returns after 9:30 PM??? My boyfriend went to make a cash return of $14.99. for one dress for me Monday afternoon and was told because it was purchased in Orange County- it MUST be returned at the SAME store. When I arrived later that same night, I was told by security they would be closing in 7 minutes. Then, another employee yelled across the store loudly, NO RETURNS after 9:30. I was turned away without employee ever even looking at receipt. This is the same Ross that closes dressing rooms ridiculously early. By now, it was after 10 PM. I was forced to drive ALL THE WAY to Escondido to make my return. Where at least they were kind and responsive. People are busy with lives, jobs, children and they don't shop at Ross because they are independently wealthy. Someone needs to explain to their store manager, Alex, that Ross was built on the backs of hard working people. And then ask first, why it is that THIS Ross is allowed to step outside of their customer "service" standards?And secondly, why THIS store feels so entitled to set their own parameters as they see fit?? read more

Terrible customer service. They close the back dressing room and had to wait to get into ONE dressing room in front; meanwhile three people at front register mostly talking to each other, not friendly, didn't give gift receipts when requested, didn't apologize, then alarm went off because she didn't remove the alarm tag from shoe. plus another employee working the floor putting clothes away; could have been at dressing room and run clothes in between like every other Ross. Then the security guard, who was six feet away from register where I just paid and carrying out four big bags, demands to see my receipt. This is a Ghetto Ross; never coming here again.UPDATE: I was taking things I bought out of bags and realized there were 3 tops I bought that were missing; after thoroughly searching bags and my house and car, put everything back in bags and put them in car, and drove back to the store (not close to me so super inconvenient) this am at opening time. I carried all the bags back in and explained to very pleasant lady what happened and she located and gave me a bag with my three missing items they had kept! Instead of apologizing, she told me "you are lucky they didn't put these back out on the floor; that's usually what they do." Bizarre experience!!! Terrible! read more

Like so many similar stores, this store looks sad. The shelves are so empty, sections of the store are closed off because they are running out of stock. It looks like a store going out of business but there are no signs saying this, so I don't know if thats the reason or if it's supply chain issues that the world has been experiencing since covid read more

I have never written a negative review before as I usually dismiss negative store/diner experiences but I was compelled to do so by the rude attitude of the lady working in the fitting room section with the long black straight hair, wearing a headband. I put my 2 items of clothes in the rack where they are supposed to count them. She then proceeded to look up from where she was and continued with her task. Another customer came over and she immediately stopped what she was doing and proceeded to attend her. The other customer and I both exclaimed that I had been there first. I like coming to Ross for household and kitchen supplies. Prices are affordable and selection is decent. The environment isn't the best, but it does the job. Place just seems a little run down and dead. Very bland and not exciting place to shop, unlike TJ max or something. The prices seem to be lower than TJ max though. read more

I just moved to an apartment as our house is being remodeled. Some items must've been packed because I couldn't find them! Made a quick run to Ross to replace said items. Since one CANNOT take cart out of store, I asked for assistance bringing bags onto my van. Well, NO ONE. Could. Help. BS! My solution? Return all items! Thanks a lot Ross; your management is horrid! This review is strictly for the returns process and the associates that I encountered. I will leave out the names, but put in their first initials so my review doesn't get deleted. However, I already reported this situation to corporate, with their names. I was waiting in line to do a return for roughly 15 minutes. The associate D., that was in charge of the return line was taking his time to process the returns. When there was no one in the purchase line, the other associate ask in an annoyed voice to K. (another associate) if she had to do returns. K., then replied like she was very annoyed, "yea cuz apparently that's all we have today! Its only returns all day!" Instead of immediately calling a customer up to start her return, she started fiddling with the empty hangers behind her, then finally called the next customer up. When I finally got called up by D., I had two items to return, both with receipts. The reason I mention I had receipts is because the customer before me and next to me did not have receipts and that seemed to really bother K. He took his sweet time processing each return, slowly putting alarms on each item and helping the other associate process her return instead of making my return fast. He should have taken my return and put the alarms on later to speed up the process and get people out of the long line. Meanwhile, K. was to the right of him, just huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes about how many returns there were today. Apparently, hanging clothes on the hanger was too much for her. She could've hopped on a register and helped out with the line. Another associate came in to start his work day, and she complained about another employee calling out and said "thank God you're here! Get ready for all the returns!!!" Well, I'm sorry you don't like returns, but unfortunately, due to Covid, and fitting rooms not being open, returns should be expected. If you don't have what it takes to be in the customer service industry, I hear the garbage company is hiring. I had a return prior to this at Marshall's and they were extremely friendly. Loving this store! I came in here on a late night shopping spree to find clothes to wear for a job interview. Late is around 10:30 pm on a Saturday night. It may sound like I have no life, but I came here after the Warren G concert at the race track. Anyway, I'm looking to change jobs and needed some new clothes to impress my new boss with. I usually get frustrated with racks and racks of unorganized clothes, but on this night I hit the jackpot right away. I went to the first rack I could and found many good options that were interview ready. I got comfortable black slacks, form fitting professional sweater, blouse, and 2 pairs of shoes. Now, only 1 pair of the shoes could be worn for an interview. But, I also found some super hot platform sandals, a pair of Levis casual boots, and a professional shoe for my future job interview. This store is very large and well organized. Surprisingly clean and spacious, unlike many Ross stores which usually feel very chaotic. It could actually use more inventory to make the super large space feel cozier. I'd come back as it's easy to find a great deal here, plus you can hit the nearby Burlington Coat Factory and the TJ max if you are seriously shopping. read more

I love this place for cheap clothes. It's just always do dirty, dank and full of screaming children. Not all the cashiers can do returns, which I found super unfortunate and they take people in the return line faster than the people in the purchase line even if purchase line people have been there longer. It's across the parking lot from a TV Maxx but the prices are so much better at Ross. I just feel like it's NEVER organized, never clean and all around just bummer service. I love the deals they have and the fact that's it's super close to my house. read more

The store is extremely bright, clean and organized. It's also very spacious. Ross is one of my personal favorite stores. You can always find something for everyone, whether its clothes, shoes, toys, accessories, household items, you'll always find things at a lower price than many other stores. I LOVE SHOPPING AT ROSS! Sometimes you can find some pretty expensive stuff that didn't make it through retail, and you can just pick it up for like sometimes even 60-90% off! I feel like I'm robbing the bank when this happens! Despite some of the other reviews on this specific location for Ross, I had a great experience. It's pretty quiet, so if you happen to accidentally do what I did and drop a rack of hangers, everybody is going to know that it was YOU! Haha, I had a great time!!! Checkout time didn't take very long, and there were actually a lot of people in front of me. The sweet young lady working the register was very quick in removing everybody's shoplifting plastic thingies from the clothes, so that we could get on with our day and get the heck out of there. I love shopping at Ross! I end up finding something every time I come in a Ross. This time I found a pair of jeans that cost $16.99. Great deal! I love shopping at Ross. Most of my clothing is from here. Great styles for less. I love buying dresses here as well. I also love shopping for my daughter. She likes buying toys. She will find toys every time she's in a Ross. I will also look for cute clothes for her. Store was clean and everything was easy to find. Workers here greeted me hello. I normally don't get that at any other Ross locations. There's more of a selection here as I saw workers refill the racks with clothing. I definitely will be back! read more

Nice Ross location, it's located near Von's, 99 Cent Store, Ulta, CVS, Starbucks, Burlington, Michael's etc. You can make a stop here while you're doing your other errands. The place is fairly organized and clean compared to other Ross locations plus there's plenty of parking and not as many pedestrians as the one in La Jolla. Staff is friendly, they greet you when you come through the door and make conversation when you pay. TIP: If you like something wait like a week and it will be marked down in clearance. If it's not there anymore it wasn't meant to be. Things may be cheaply priced but watch out because it all adds up... PLUS++ Cute guy with ear piercing manning the dressing room. Horrible customer service! Im a regular customer at Ross and I understand the treatment I will get there is not the same as when I shop at Nordstrom. I went to the ross store at Clairemont to return two clothing pieces I got for my daughter at the Ross in La Jolla. The items were very inexpensive, $6.99 each (an Adidas Sport Bra and a Target Brand pajamas) and both had all tags attached and the receipt. An extremely rude cashier (heavyset girl with blue hair) examined all numbers at the tags and the receipt like something was wrong. Than she told me she couldn't return this brand items and I had to go to the La Jolla store so they could look at the transaction in their cameras. What!!! There was no need to tell me that, it was like accusing me of doing something shady. Maybe she was profiling me, since I have an European accent. I went to the La Jolla store and asked their cashier if there was any reason they couldn't return these items at the Clairemont store. The La Jolla Ross cashier said she had no idea what they said that, since everything was perfectly fine with the items. I will never shop at the Ross Clairemont. again. read more

As bad as some of the stuff is here...some of the junk and clothing actually make really good props for photoshoots. This is what I think happened.... Distributor: how much you wanna sell this for? Typical Ross Dress For Less but, a little smaller than usual. It's in the same place where Circuit City used to be. Everything is pretty much crammed in there, so, aisles are pretty tight. They have a total of 7 registers, with 1 dedicated to Returns/Exchanges. When I was there, they had on the average 4-5 registers going. Had to wait maybe 8 minutes in line. The sales staff are friendly and helpful. They need to train the merchandiser where to put the price stickers...cups usually have the stickers on the bottom so that you can see the design of the cup, but, not here, it's smack dab in the middle of the side!!! Looks like a hardware store display. They got these cute little baskets with tiny wheels on them that you pull around with you like a wagon. I would probably suggest they put an inventory control tag on them or you'll probably see them around the neighborhood. Good to see some action going on at the Clairemont Town Square. Ross will probably pull foot traffic from the TJ Maxx and Burlington stores nearby. read more

When I found out they were opening one in the square, I was excited! I wasn't here for any specific reason but to just look at what they got. I walked in and noticed off the bat -- it was smaller than most Ross locations (La Jolla & Mission Valley). I walked around to see what I could find and I did end up pick a couple of things. Of course, Ross is my go to place for inexpensive clothing and shoes. This location was clean and organized. Clothing was easy to spot, and MOST clothes were still intack (no missing buttons, no loose threads, no make up stains). I will be coming back here for more purchases. read more

This is by far the smallest Ross I've been to. There was a section where maybe the holiday stuff was ? But it was completely empty. Only 2 registers open so there was that typical Long Ross wait. Luckily it's in a great plaza so what we didn't find in this store we went to another. It's pretty well kept though with no clothing on the floors so that was refreshing to see. I would probably only come here for clothes since the housing area didn't really have a lot of selection. read more

Major plus points for that because most other Ross stores that I have been in look like a Salvation Army, with stuff thrown everywhere.
