I went into Ross today there is a women and two men laughing at a lady that didn't speak English. They continued to bagger her and laugh and say are u going to sell it out in the streets. Then they continued on by pulling out the google translate and still laughing and speaking over their ear piece. It was so unprofessional sloppy and there uniformed need to be tailored better as the security underwear was showing. I would not recommend they were being very racist read more

I just went to ross and hour ago bought stuff, and then came home and saw a plastic tag on an item I bought. Cashier was RUSHING !!!!!!! She could've just went to run a marathon if that's what she wanted instead of being a cashier! I get it's almost closing time (approx 9pm... they close at 11...) but maybe she can get a different job if she hates hers so much or maybe she was having a bad day but that doesn't excuse anything. No attention to detail what so ever. I didn't even get handed my receipt or finish the transaction and she calls next. When I walked out the door after the guard marked my receipt the censors beeped and she said "you're good" and didn't even check any of my items or my bag. I think the gentleman running the fitting room should be at the front instead of the back because he was kind and showed good customer service. read more

I explained clearly to the employees, Revinda and Demitry who was a manager , that I was an active customer and not someone just looking for a public restroom. Despite that, they refused to let me use it, stating it's "not a public restroom." It was frustrating and inconvenient, as I had to leave the store in the middle of shopping just to find a restroom elsewhere--and I never returned to finish my shopping. I'm a woman, and today I went into the store with my baby. As I was walking in, Demitry startled me. He approached me and rudely said, "You can't come in with drinks." He grabbed me suddenly, and it scared me. That's not the way to approach a customer and say something. I didn't know who he was, and I told him, "You need to be nicer to people and be careful how you ask them for things. You scared me, and I'm going to file a complaint." I was trembling because I thought he was someone who wanted to steal my purse or do something bad to me and my daughter. I never imagined he was a Ross employee. Previously, when I was pregnant, I told them I urgently needed to use the restroom, and they wouldn't let me. This is the only store where they never allow anyone to use the restroom. I don't know who the owner is, but please, I ask that you do something about this. We are customers, and we demand respect for our families because they don't even allow children to use the restroom. This is a store where we regularly bring our children, and the children and pregnant women can't hold it when they need to use the restroom. read more

Felt like I was shopping in a prison. There should be a way to make it feel less like a prison. The security guard asked to look in my bag even though she was standing right in front of the register I checked out at... What could I have possibly put in my bag when it was handed to me, I took two steps (literally) and bam there's the guard. And not to mention you have to wait to get in, where are we? The security guard seen both of us pay. My grandfather got upset because they didn't ask anyone else just him. We are Hispanic and felt profiled and my grandfather is 75 years old. I was just very confused since I've never seen that rule being enforced and other locations. First of all to management, instead of hiring two security guards per store. Why don't you try hiring more cashiers so you do not have the theft problems that you have at all of your stores? The fact that there is never more than two cashiers per store at any location in the Bay Area is an absolute joke! Even during the holidays. I was standing in line for nearly 45 minutes. The line reached the back of the store and wrapped around. One register was open. It took about 20 minutes for them to notice that a change needed to take place for them to open more registers. The store had many things picked up and items in there proper place unlike the store in Napa or Vallejo or Fairfield or Santa Rosa. But waiting that long for a single item purchase was a little overkill. Hope to see their heads on a more active swivel. Obviously security was very relaxed in commuticating the needs of the store to the manager. Lines outside of a holiday weekend should never be that long. read more

I wasn't allowed in the store because my well behaved 65lb dog couldn't fit in a cart. I checked ahead of time to confirm they allowed dogs yet upon arrival they said they only allow dogs that fit into a cart because dogs poop on the floor so therefore they don't want them touching the floor. My dog has never had that issue and it's a shame irresponsible owners had to ruin it for the responsible ones. Regardless, the store should put no dogs allowed signs out to reflect this rule and have employees give the correct answer so we don't waste our time driving here just to be told that. read more

Just because this location is 5 minutes from my house, I come here... however this is the most ghetto ROSS... dirty! Parking sucks! People are rude, staff is okay... clothes is all disorganized! I mean it is located in a big plaza but if they can put a bit more effort to have it much neater! Compared to my favorite location in Campbell! Wow! Big difference! This Ross Dress for Less has been my go-to store during the pandemic as the prices here have been BARGAIN DEALS! Yes, you heard me correctly! This place screams DISCOUNT GALORE! I am delighted to be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend money during this challenging time. Once the stores became open to the public, I, along with everyone and their mother, was at Ross waiting in the LONGGG line. Now yes, this store practiced mask-wearing and 6ft distancing, as well as the store limit of shoppers, were limited to 50%, so you could only imagine how long the dang lines were to get in and shop! After waiting in line for 40 minutes, I was able to come in and grab a couple of good deals off their racks. Some items were less than $10 and name brand, too; You know I was turning my headway from steal deals! This store is huge and offers great selections on clothing, dressed housewares, and linens. The only deal-breaker was that terrible long line that wraps around the store building and patience to wait to check out. However, what keeps me coming back is the customer service I receive from the Store Manager, Rebecca, she is always so welcoming and warm when I walk into the store. Lovely customer service is hard to come across nowadays; it is nice to shop and be around positive energy, especially during this challenging time. I bought a large flower pot on may 20th at Ross store at the Plant location on Monterrey rd and Curtner. 11 Curtner Ave San Jose, CA 95125. I can't bring it out to my car by myself and I asked the manager for help but she refused to help me for some reason and they are not allowed shopping card rolling outside the store. I only need help to carry the pot outside but she's so mean and rude that she said I have to do it myself. If I get hurt when doing it in the store I'll file law suit against Ross company. Instead of going through law suits and trouble, why can't they have someone to help customer carry large heavy items out or at least let customer borrow a card to roll it to the car/truck. I personally think the manager doesn't do her job, and she's ignoring customer's needs. I want to file complaint for this store because of customer satisfaction. I was shopping at this Ross and needed to use the restroom. I asked to use the restroom and was told it was only for employees. I have shopped here in the past and relied on having that restroom available since I am not able to hold it very long. The line wraps around with only two registers open and no sense of urgency I have been waiting line so far for about 35 mins and the line is not moving and to top that off while I am going through the racks there is about 3-4 employees standing around talking about going out the club called splash!! There was a cashier who goes by the name nicole, She helped me check out my items and when she was finished, she proceeded to look me up and down and in the most insincere way told me "have a nice day" while rolling her eyes. As this happened a coworker or hers who i assume was the manager, asked her to stop with the jokes because they were making another coworker uncomfortable and she didnt even seem to care. Review #138 - 2017 I try my best to keep an open mind when shopping at these types of stores because I know I shouldn't expect too much from the quality of products that they carry, since it's usually things that are out of season or just irregulars. My first complaint is that the employees aren't very friendly. There were three employees up front and only one young lady was working the register even though it was the end of the night--so I'm sure everyone wants to go home. However, the other two employees were just standing around pretending to look busy, while they were just chatting away. The young lady who was working got moody because she noticed the line was getting longer and no one else was helping her so she let out a loud and rude, "oh god!" I totally understand her frustration; but instead of making the customers feel uncomfortable, she should've just asked her co-workers for help, which she eventually did. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness of the store. Everything looks messy and out of place and the bathroom was just nasty. They placed an "out of order" sign at the entrance even though it wasn't, but I needed to change my baby's diaper so I used it any way. I couldn't imagine how a manager would allow the place to look so disgusting. Thank goodness it's not a restaurant because I'd hate to know what it looks like in their kitchen. read more

You can always find good deals at any Ross store, but this location definitely has one of the best selections of inventory around. When I started to shop here, I expected to find basic clothing items like track pants and sleepwear, but as I delved deeper into their racks I realized that they carry quite a few name brand items. I shop for a few different brands, but am grateful that they carry all of my Crooks & Castles clothing needs at prices way below the original retailers or specialty shops. This is the only place that you can get fitted from head to toe for less than the price of one pair of jeans at the mall. read more

Sometimes my family and I come in just to look around also help time pass by but we always end up finding really nice things here! We were here this past weekend and I found a beatiful Under Armour puffy jacket valued at $195.99 but I got it from here for $29.99, I also found an UGG zip up sweater valued at $199.99 but I got it from Ross for $39.99!! Don't do returns here as even after speaking to store manager she didn't bother to listen when the item had tag and no damage but the receipt for some reason said so just said no exception to store policy and dont care about any complains. This does not match with the customer service quality statement taken with the picture. If the receipt is wrong there should be some leeway to help customer not flat out denied without evening listening. read more

On a trip to the area I decided to browse as I am almost guaranteed to find something. The store was congested but very busy so I figured that was why. Decided to run quickly to the rest room and asked the very young change room attendant for entry. She became uneasy and was clearly uncomfortable telling me that it was out of service. At that moment another extremely young in appearance staff member exited the restroom half wet as though she showered in there and fixing herself. I turned to the other and said well it looks like the restroom is working very well. She became visibly upset and could no longer speak clearly. I requested the manager. An older guy in a smedium shirt showed up and let me know that they don't allow customers to use the restroom. I've never heard of that before and he said read the sign it's on the door. I noticed a sign on the way out but honestly I didn't go into the store planning on going to the restroom. Turned me off and absolutely did not spend a dollar there. We just had Halal Guys and wanted to walk off the food, so we walked just nearby to this Ross. Like many Ross's depending on where you go the stock will differ, but the layout can be wonky at some places versus others. This Ross was pretty good in terms of the layout and it didn't feel like I had to go to 3 different places to find things. So good for them. Today I just didn't get to buy anything of interest. My boyfriend was about to buy something but their lines were kind of long. Maybe on a different day it would've been better. I wouldn't go out of my way here like I would for Walnut Creek Ross. I love Ross. It's a great place to find cute frames, gift-y items, housewares, and the occasional outfit, all at affordable prices. I thought this branch was one of the cleanest, most organized ones in San Jose. They must've cleaned up quick after the mad stampede that probably occurred here during the Grand Opening. I must commend the staff on their shoe section because everything was where they were supposed to be... usually at Ross you can never find anything in your size because they're all scattered in the wrong area, or when you DO find something cute, you can never locate the matching pair. I was actually able to find a cute pair of Nine West open toe slingbacks... and in MY SIZE! (Size 6 is one of the most common shoe sizes.) They had a lot of cute prom-y dresses for sale that I wish they had back when I was in HS. I spent $200+ for my prom dress.... a freakin' Jessica McClintock dress at Valleyfair. A dress that I only wore once. Sheez... I don't even know where that dress IS anymore, either! WTH... anyway, I was surprised with the variety and quality of the dresses they had for sale here that if I could do it all over again, I would've went to this Ross instead for my prom dress. Haha as ghetto as that sounds, but seriously. On a side note, after reading some reviews regarding trying on swimsuits... I'm sure the reason why they do that is for hygienic reasons... some people can be REALLY funky... haha... So quit complainin' cuz they probably just saved you from catching any STDs. read more
