I returned an item. The lady forgets to give me the old receipt. I told her she looked for it and couldn't find it. Mean while im waiting for my mom to pick what she wants to buy. Security ask me if what i have is a return i say no i just paid it and im waiting for someone. I decide to leave the store to put my new purchases in the car. Come back and i got greeted with a your back (rude much). That annoyed the shit out of me. Bitch if im walking in its because i need something. (Get my mom) so i get in line with my mom. The security (red haired, freckled Caucasian women)near the exit doors made me feel so uncomfortable. That on my way out i tell her "this is my mom. I couldn't leave without her." Her response on yes we wouldn't wanna leave our moms would we. My response back "no we can't my mom is important." I was done with her. read more

Went in to do a simple return, $9 return, but was stopped at the door for having a drink. Put my drink in my car came back and did my return. Worst customer service. One cashier but 2 lines 1 for purchases and 1 for returns. Well I was in line before a lady walked up in the return line so I went up to the cashier and so did she and I said I was in line first. The other customer said while this is the return line. I see a lot of complaints about customer service in these yelp reviews. . My GF and I frequent this store almost weekly and have never had a problem with customer service. I like that I can buy quality products here at a fraction of the typical prices found elsewhere. If you want to get positive results from Ross store employees, try acting like adults and practice the golden rule. A smile can go a long way when dealing with the associates in any store. Only one checker and one person doing returns. Only took me ten minutes to find what I needed and try on 40 minutes standing in line. When the woman behind me asked the manager why there weren't more people working he said it was based off of last week's numbers (a holiday weekend). Instead of apologizing abd thanked the crowd for being patient he got extremely defensive, not a very appealing quality in management. It would have been nice if he opened a checkstand and did something productive instead of making excuses. Not very happy. read more

Probably one of the cleanest Ross stores I've been in. I was traveling through Tracy on my way home to Oregon and needed to grab some shorts. I was able to find what I wanted within a few minutes of being there. The associates on the floor actually asked me if I needed help, which I find to be rare. And the lady who rang me up was friendly and genuinely happy. I wish I had caught her name as to thank her. (She was an African American woman working the return/purchase register). Thank you! I stood in line for a VERY long time one afternoon. It seems that way at most Ross locations though. They only had 3 registers open I believe and one lady had something wrong with her register. Although one of the upsides to this Ross is that its pretty clean and organized. read more

If I could give a zero stars rating I would!! Terrible customer service from the cashier. She told us to look at the price on the screen when we asked the price of an item and when I asked the price of another she emptied out my bad upside down on the counter! She was ridiculously rude and then had the security guard tell us to put our cart back in the cart area after we were out the door. When we asked their names one gave us a different one than was on her name tag, and the security guard said her name wasn't important to us. Don't think I'll be back. Too many times I've waited in line to pay or return something while multiple (yesterday it was 5) employees stand around chatting and laughing inside the cash register/jewelry counter area. It doesn't seem to faze them that there is an ever growing number of their customers in line. I won't work this hard to spend my money there any more. Marshall's next door is a much cleaner, better stocked store with multiple cashiers ready and willing to check me out. I'd sure hate to see Tracy lose another store but I don't see how this one can stay in business much longer with this caliber of customer service. read more

12/3/16 - Assoc. 537887 - extremely unprofessional! While waiting in long line, I removed the hangers from clothes. When I got to the counter, I separated ones w/ ink tags. I left the hangers on the cart. Assoc. told me to put the hangers back on the rack. I tried but the hangers got stuck on the cart so I pushed the cart next to the hanger stand. Assoc. shook her head and asked me with an attitude, "Are you just going to leave the cart there?" I said, "Yes." She said to me, "That's rude" in front of other customers and cashiers. I told her, "I already removed the hangers for you. Some customers don't even remove the hangers or separate ones w/ ink tags." She continued to argue with me as if that's my job to put the hangers where they belong. This associate was VERY RUDE! When I got home, I reported her to the store manager. read more

You would think that moving into a much newer bigger buliding would make the store better but this is not the case. Racks are always EMPTY. Employees are extremely rude, abnoxious and unprofessional. The last time I went shopping there 3 employees were in the back laughing hysterically to each other while customers are looking at them wondering what is so funny. The clerk who rang up my items actually said "God Da#* its only 4! I want to get out of here already!!" right in front of me. Store desperately needs management makeover. They have the most ignorant associates... My daughters hair got stuck in the nylon band while waiting in line screaming at the top of her lungs and not one associate came to help!! Until I called them IDIOTS which they are than when I did get her hair out as she lost a huge chunk of hair and crying, mind you she is six. I don't even live in Tracy, but i was visiting my family and we decided to go shopping. This Ross is better than the one by me (San Jose). Im pregnant, so I love going to Ross for discount baby clothes, and this location had a big selection, and it was very clean and organized. I also found a few maternity tops and pants for super cheap. Not too bad! read more

So I bought another set of sheets with an entirely different brand, but also made in India, and they developed the same problem after being washed a few times. I'm not even going to bother going through the hassle of trying to return them for another store credit, which is basically worthless since their merchandise is junk. The quality of the shopping experience is also awful due to the horrendous long lines which are like being in a cattle car or the Tokyo subway at rush hour. Great deals and finds on some great designer dresses. I do always find something for myself and my children. The reason I don't give more than 3 stars is because of their lack of good customer service. The lines get quite long being a bargain store but yet they never seem to have enough cashiers open each time I go. Just last week a cashier just left her register to stack hangers because a customer was giving her a hard time with their purchase, you don't leave your register with 8 people in line wth. Worst place to EVER shop at. I agree with the other yelpers. Every time it comes down to returning something, they always try to find something "wrong" with the item you are trying to return. At my last experience, July 29th. There was a young woman named Stefany if I am not mistaken. I will definitely double check on her name and update this review. And will definitely call corporate because this type of behavior, as an employee is unacceptable . She was helping an African American lady at check out. I was in line waiting for the next register. An older Hispanic lady who didn't speak English walks up to "Stefany" with one shoe, and before the lady first asked if she spoke Spanish, the cashier answered in a very rude way, assuming the ladys second question and responds "no I don't. I don't know where the other shoe is. the other shoe is somewhere around the store." the poor lady walks away. The cashier is still helping the African American lady and then they start making jokes about her not speaking English and start laughing. Sad how racism is still on going. read more

I am writing this review today from san Diego where I currently live. Today my debit card was used at this store in Tracy by some hacker who got ahold of my credit card number all the while I am here at work in san Diego. Anyways after talking to my bank I decided to call this ross and find out if they could help me with this matter. I was transferred to the manager Tara who was so helpful and patient with me, She stayed with me on the phone for half an hour trying to help me figure out who used my card. I am now going to be contacting the police department so they can try and find out who this guy is. Thank you Tara for all of your help, I could not have done this without you. If I'm ever in Tracy by your store I will come in and personally thank you again for your time I hope your manager knows what spectacular customer service you have!! read more

I do not understand why some people complains so much,give me a break.If the things are not on the shelves or not much cloths on the rack,is because they have been sold out and will be restock. Customers come and go. Some of them has little kids that pulls every thing and the parents do nothing about it.I agree the lines are long at times,it depends on the time you go or the day you go into the store.
