So I stopped here to pick up a pair of sunglasses before we leave for the weekend. Asked the manager how I would look at sunglasses, and she said the lady at the counter would help me. 10 minutes later I asked the lady at the counter and she said that she had to wait until everybody in line was helped first. Horrible staff. The "loss prevention" or security guard whatever she is that helps out with self check out is extremely rude. Very unpleasant, & always has a horrible attitude. I've been here many times and she always has such a bad attitude. Always shouting across the store, cussing and laughing with other workers. She seems too comfortable, and treats her job as a hangout She makes it very uncomfortable to shop or have a pleasant experience. I had a very disappointing experience with this particular store. Ross, Dress for Less... 6543 Fallbrook Ave West Hills ca 91307 I visited the Ross store on January 29, 2025, for a quick shopping trip. A few days earlier, I had received an injection in my knee for pain, and as a disabled elderly person, I was already in a vulnerable state. While shopping, I experienced a spasm in my left knee, which was affected. In excruciating pain, I hurried to leave the store and left the shopping cart aside. As I walked out, the cashier asked me to return my cart to its original place instead of leaving it there. I explained that I was in a lot of pain and needed to exit the store. Instead of showing understanding, she repeated her request with an attitude, ensuring that nearby customers could hear us. Upset by her response, I confronted her and said that I don't work for the store and am not on their payroll to return the cart, especially while in pain. At that point, she made confrontational facial expressions as I walked out. I had reached my limit and cursed at her, to which she replied, "Likewise." It was an incredibly disappointing interaction. All the while, the security stood by, watched us exchange words, and said nothing. The next day, January 30, 2025, I went to Walmart and stopped by the same Ross store to speak with a manager. As a regular at this particular store, this individual might need more training on respecting paying customers. When I explained what had happened the day before, instead of showing understanding and taking action to improve employee training, the manager blamed me, stating that returning the carts was the customers' responsibility. I encountered a frustrating situation during my recent visit to this store. While we exchanged a few words, the manager gave a mean attitude and refused to provide her name. It was only when I mentioned that I would contact the corporate office that she finally told me her name, but it was unclear, and I couldn't take note of it. On a previous visit, an employee who said she is from Afghanistan was playing Islamic speech with loud audio on her phone while working, which was disruptive to customers. Today, the cashier treated me with a very impatient and dismissive attitude when I tried to return an item, to the point that I decided not to proceed with the return at all. I was at a west hills Ross on July 9th and I thought it was prudent to leave a review. I was with my wife at a Ross and witnessed a loss prevention employe antagonizing customers, intimidating and arguing with them. Escalating the situation, making everyone feel uneasy. At one point I thought a fight was going to brake out between the loss prevention employe and the customers. I worried for my wife's safety as well as others. This type of behavior from an employe is uncalled for unprofessional and unexeptable. I will not be returning to this Ross in fact I'm switching stores. Couple days ago as I am getting my kids in their huge wagon stroller I see a lady pushing a young woman in a wheelchair. I didn't have time to go open the door for her since I have a wild 3 year old & 5 year old who's autistic & both are runners! As I mentioned already, we have a huge wagon stroller so it's difficult for me to open the door & push it at the same time myself. (Just like it was for this lady) So as I'm getting closer to the door the lady waits & opens the door for me while a MANAGER, a cashier & the rude ass "security" just stand & watch! Now, my problem is not bc they didn't bother giving me a hand, but that NOT ONE of this ladies bothered opening the damn door for the lady in front of me, who's obviously struggling to open the door & push a wheelchair at the same time! As I walked in, I asked the manager loudly enough for everyone to hear me why nobody bothered helping her out & her answer was "well I'm sorry I didn't see her!" Of course w/ a nasty attitude & rolled her eyes. I told her which staff member DID see her but she's so ignorant that she didn't care. She could only focus on the person walking out the door since one of her items made the alarm go off. Not the best store for this brand. Things are hung chaotically. Lots of clothes have fallen off the hangers and dirty ones are lying on the floor( Cosmetics are in terrible condition, many packages are damaged and started. But liked the assortment of pants and sportswear and home goods. Cashiers are polite and work fast. read more

This review is for the young security guard that works the front of the building he was so kind to me I really want to say his name but I can't remember where I wrote it down- he was so kind! I was really excited to find two full length mirrors and I couldn't carry them all the way out, as soon as he saw me he came over to help me!!! Then there was a task of getting the two giant mirrors in my backseat, and he even helped me to maneuver them into my car to make sure that I was safe. He was such a great help to me and I know he doesn't get extra for doing work like that. It was just such a kind gesture. I will definitel be back to Ross Not to mention forget about these other reviews, repeated times that I've come in here. I walked to her, I said hi and she ignored me, she was talking with someone else with some other language I believe it was Russian. But I don't care with that maybe she didn't hear me, I didn't pay attention when she scanned my stuffs until I came home and I saw inside my laundry basket that the boxer that I bought still has the alarm tag on it. I got really annoying by that, but I just try to open it with knife even tho till now it wouldn't open. And I got pissed that SHE ALSO FORGOT TO PUT MY COASTER INSIDE. I was at Ross around 11am this morning and was directed to the self checkout. This was the worst shopping experience I've ever had. The clerk who was supervising self checkout was standing doing nothing as there were no other shoppers checking out. She stood and watched as I struggled to open the bags to put my items in. After I finished, I had to wait at her counter as she removed all items from my bags to ensure I paid for them all and to remove the security devices. Why didn't she tell me I didn't need to bag the items???? Customer service is nonexistent. Won't shop here again. read more

This place is one BIG mess! Haphazard organization, shelves partially empty. Merchandise is on the floor in various parts of the store, without any employees attempting to rectify the situation. OK so I usually go to Burlington and I tried Ross just to get a couple of things and I had to go to the restroom so I went to the restroom and the restrooms were disgusting as I was coming out one of the security ladies security guard ladies was in there. She signed her name saying that she checked the bathroom which is still disgusting and I walked out. I asked for the manager the manager is nowhere to be found. I asked another security lady where is the manager? She said nowhere to be found and I told her to let the manager know that the bathrooms were disgusting and she Proceeded to let me know that it wasn't the store that it was the customers fault. I said no it's not the customers all need to clean your bathrooms, so I went up to the cashier and the cashier listen to me and agreed with me. she called the manager right away which is in-house so the two security ladies lied to me anyways, so whether they cleaned it or not, I will never ever be back to that store ever again bad customer service. They sell shoes that have been worn, not just once, but for months. This pair (see photos) was brown and yellow inside, dirt caked onto the bottoms, cracks in the rubber, etc. They just attached a $19.99 tag and put them out on the shelf. Absolutely disgusting. They tend not to staff properly so people have to wait in line for 15 minutes because they only have two people at the registers. The second star is because the employees are nice. read more

i recently walk into a Ross on Fallbrook in West hills and was discriminated against the very first time I walked in because the color of my skin i was told aggressively to leave my bag at the front when I did I hear the manager saying in Spanish watch that negro so I was there to return some shoes i recently bought the same day and as I was walking through the isles looking for items to exchange my shoes for I was being followed by a employee every isle I went in.Therefore I decided not to peruse in getting anything because I felt uncomfortable I finally got to the manager at the checkout line to pursue with return she assumed that the shoes I had weren't bought that day and told me I can't return these so told her "I knew you guys where going to give me a hard time by the way all of your employees judging me when I walked inside the store" I also said "this is the only store open untill 11pm please all the other stores are closed" she stated "you can wait untill tommorow" I decided to instantly feel embarrassed pleading with the manager to please return my shoes and walked away upset embarrassed and sad and decided to act like I was going to steal a pair of shoes right when i grabbed them. I WISH I COULD GOVE NO STARS!!! Don't go here!!! I am a paying customer and brought some gift items from a family member to return. When they said I couldn't return one item because it was missing one number on the barcode because the person who bought it tore it off by accident (a fabric hammock), I asked if I could look and see if they had any on the shelf to get the number. They said I'd have to talk to the manager, so when the "manager", Sayuri, came to me, she had the audacity to say that her employees recognize me and have given me many exceptions. That just pissed me off because that is not true and when I asked her to have whoever said that to her come tell it to my face, she sent another manager over to me. I was shaking from fury because you don't say that if it's NOT true and the new manager couldn't tell me who had said it. She said she doesn't recognize me and that was her defense to make me feel better. I live less than a mile away and I will NEVER come back here. I have never been so angry from someone implying I'm trying to "scam" them. I've never been told that and I will not let myself be told that again by them. Wow, this review was therapeutic and you shouldn't need therapy when shopping for pleasure. Update: I went to the Pasadena store the next day while I was in the area for a doctor's appointment and the associate was so helpful and gladly accepted my return. Such a lovely experience. Yesterday, I visited Ross in Northridge. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Awesome employees, love them. Since I have always had a wonderful experience at Northridge, I decided to stop at the West Hills store. there were not as many people in the store. As I proceeded to pay, the cashier asked me to take off the hangers off the eight pants I was carrying which was impossible because they were very heavy in my arm. I placed them on the counter, as I do at the Northridge store when Avelia or Abeila (not sure if I spelled her name correctly, she was wearing a black vest that said something in the back) stands next to the courteous cashier and rudely tells her (for me to hear) did you tell her to take off the hangers. The cashier said I did, but it is okay, I got it, after her rudeness, Then, She looked at me and said "If you want to buy cheap items, you have to help." Then proceeded to roll a hanger rack that was sideway by another counter and said "see this". I could not see what it in the heck she was referring to because it was far from where I was standing, did not have my glasses on. I was so upset, I told her "that is you job (to remove the hangers). She was very rude. If Ross' policy has changed then perhaps Ross should instruct the employees to mention the policy change to patrons in a courteous manner Instead of coming across so rude, lazy and unprofessional. I don't believe anyone else was standing in line. Thank you Ross Northridge for removing my hangers and being so professional. West Hill Store, your staff member sure needs to learn how to communicate with patrons. Perhaps that is why there were hardly any patrons. This place is hit or miss. I've picked up some pieces of clothing, decor for the home, designer fragrances, pet stuff...there's a nice variety. But it's pretty inconsistent. The store itself is usually a mess, especially the toy section. Packages are sometimes torn open as if parents left their kid in the toy section to run amok and then picked them up after checking out. Lines can get super long and sometimes they've got purchases and returns going in the same line. I can deal with the mess, but the endless lines? I can't. If I decide to stop here, it's either really early in the day (the store is organized at this time) or midday on weekdays. Parking can be a problem as Walmart is right next door. Park near Sprouts, there's usually spots there. Parking is just gonna get worse with the new Olive Garden opening up soon. Beware! read more
