When you order an item from Amber Lewis that in stock and they tell you it will be shipped in 2-4 weeks. What they really mean is it may ship in 4 weeks and the shipping takes 2-4 weeks! So why don't they tell you upfront you will not get your item for 8-10 weeks. Just be transparent about how long it takes!! I would never have ordered the items if I knew it would take this long! It is holding up finishing the design process and we still don't know where the items will be here. Very frustrating. read more

I purchased the Alder sofa in Shiloh Ash from Shoppe Amber Interiors and it has been the worst quality! I can't believe I spent so much money on such a cheap and poorly made piece of furniture. It's not the color it shows on the website and you can clearly see how deflated and saggy this couch is. You can even see the cushion lines in the seat cushion. No returns, no help. Customer service hasn't offered any solutions, replacements, or a refund. I will never purchase from this shop again! Such a mistake and a waste of money. read more

We received our $2800 bed frame damaged. We requested a replacement however, we were told the damage wasnt enough to warrent that so they sent a repair person to our house to fill it in with wood pens. I asked the repair guy if the finishing spray he was using was safe, and he said it was. However the entire house reaked of it, and I'm pregnant so I looked it up. The spray used is extremely toxic expecially for someone who is pregnant. So now, not only did we. have the inconviences of getting this fixed now I cant even stay in my own house because I cant be exposed to the fumes radiating throughout my house. If they would have just replaced or bothered to ask if it would be safe to repair I wouldn't have this issue. For a brand that has very expensive items I expected a lot more out of their customer service. They did offer a 10% discount for the damage, if you can consider that fair. Will not be recommending to anyone to shop here. read more

I'm a big fan of Amber and dreaming to decorate my future house with her curated collection. I always wanted to visit one of her stores and decided to stop by this location the other day. The store is located in downtown Calabasas and parking is in the rear. I couldn't stop taking photos because it's aesthetically so inspirational. Shortly after leaving my review (on 12/28) I was contacted by an associate who told me there was a communication error and my couch had actually shipped on 12/20. I was given tracking and it showed in "pickup" status rather than "in transit". Much to my surprise they also offered and went ahead and applied a discount to my order. As of today it's been more than 2 weeks since 12/20 and the shipment is still showing pickup and I have not seen the apparent applied discount. I did respond back asking about both and they have yet to respond. I could've driven to California and picked it up myself in significantly less time. read more

I've been following Amber since she was doing midrange houses, before she opened her first store in Calabassas which I was very excited to visit. I splurged on 2 ottomans for a rental house. They were custom and would take 4-6 weeks to make, plus 2 weeks to be delivered. 8 weeks later I received notice that they'd been shipped, and an estimated delivery date. That date kept being pushed and pushed for a month. So I called the shipping company who said the items had been transferred to another shipping company a month prior and that Shoppe would know why. So I called customer service. As others have mentioned it was terrible. When I finally heard back I received a boilerplate email that basically said "oops sorry your items were lost in transit" do you want to reorder or get your money back? Not even a phone call to explain the situation and apologize. I am so disappointed on many levels. read more

I was supposed to receive a delivery of a large piece of expensive furniture last Friday. Shoppe's third-partydelivery vendor texted me the morning of the delivery saying "sorry for the inconvenience. We can't come today. We didn't realize this was a three-man job instead of a two-man job." After receiving that text, I called the delivery service to see about rescheduling, and they didn't know when they could reschedule the delivery. Then I called Shoppe directly. They were busy and said they would call me back. I waited three hours. They never called. I called them back still needing to know when my delivery could be rescheduled. No updates - they said the third party delivery team would reach out to me to reschedule. I have not heard from the third party delivery team. It is now Monday. I called the delivery service, again, and I learned from them that their request for a third man was denied. I called Shoppe back to let them know that the third party delivery vendor has no idea when they will be able to fulfill my order, and I was told that they couldn't help me at the Shoppe store, and instead to dial an 888 number. When I dialed the 888 number there is literally no option to get a human on the phone. PISSED. read more

Updating my review as the saga continues. It has been just over two years since receiving my brand new sofa, two club chairs and bedframe from Amber interiors. I have spent the better part of that time literally sitting on the frame of my sofa, that is how poor the foam core is that was used in this $4000 sofa! I just had to spend another $400 for a custom cut of medium firm foam that will actually support any sort of weight. The upholstery professional who came out to give me a bid for replacing it actually grimaced at the quality of this foam. See attached photos for reference of the Amber Interior foam insert that was removed from my sofa and replaced. The Buddha statue weighs just over 21 pounds and it decompresses the foam half way. I am 155 pounds and there is less than an inch between my butt and the floor-and I FEEL the floor. The club chairs are up next, as they too have terrible quality foam that has given out, making them equally uncomfortable. BUYER BEWARE. read more

My refund was for $34 which, let's face it, is laughable. A fabric that requires using a pilling device after scant use is simply not of the quality your prices reflect. My decorator has received no better assistance despite numerous polite, professional emails. Again, she was offered a 20% off coupon which is again, laughable. I am not a complainer and I have never before felt compelled to post a negative review but this situation required it. I recommend avoiding this vendor. read more

I ordered the Theodore bed from Amber Interiors for approximately $6k in June and was promised delivery in October. The bed was eventually delivered in November but the bed frame was chipped and broken. I contacted customer services and they promised they would send me a new bed. Fast forward to December and I was sent just a headboard without a bed frame. Such a disappointing and expensive purchase. I think their customer service is great at making false promises but very poor at fulfilling the orders. Do not recommend any purchases from this company. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I purchased a lamp from this shop back in July or august of 2020 and still have not received it. They told me that the artisan has been greatly affected by covid which I feel for and is the only reason why I have not cancelled my order yet. But they took my money! I have never heard of a store taking money and not being able to give me a date as to when my product will ship. My issue is not with the artisan but with this store. They take your money for products they actually can't provide to you. I keep going back and forth via email and can't get any straight answers. I ordered a bed and some dining chairs for a client. The bed was damaged in transit and customer support did not even know until I had contacted the shipping company to find out what the problem was. It took Shoppe Amber over three weeks to determine where the bed was and what the damage was. The first set of 8 dining chairs arrived in flawed condition, the finish was unacceptable, and were returned. Subsequently the chairs were replaced and two of them were damaged a replacement for the two was made and one of them was again flawed. Customer service has been non existent through this whole process. The website and stores all look very attractive but the quality of product and and customer service is severely lacking I will never purchase anything from this company again and I suggest you seriously think again before doing so. read more

My experience with the customer service from Amber Interiors is very disappointing. After ordering an area rug online on 10/17/21, I sent a follow- up email on 10/21 to find out when the rug would ship. On 10/27 after receiving no response to my email, I called the company and the customer service rep informed me that the rug was on backorder until April 2022. At that point I requested that the order be cancelled and the charges be refunded to my credit card. On 11/9/21, after no response from the company and no refund, I called customer service and sent an email again requesting a refund. Still no response. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges, but it is such a disappointment when a retailer who appears to have lovely furnishings is willing to ruin their business by providing awful customer service. read more

Is it possible to give 0 (zero) stars? In February 2022, I completed a furniture order with Shoppe Amber Interiors. I love their pieces and was so looking forward to receiving my order. The backorder date was indicating I wouldn't receive my order until sometime in Sept. 2022. September comes along and I had to reach out to the company for an update, as I hadn't received any word on my order. After some time passed, I received an email that my order was backordered until Dec. 2022. In Dec. 2022 I get another email indicating my order would be backordered until March 2022. Then in Jan, 2023, I was contacted by Shoppe Amber Interiors customer service, notifying me that the new backorder date was Oct. 2023 and asked if I would like to cancel the order and be refunded for my purchase. I was very disappointed that it would be almost two years before I could potentially receive my order, so I made the hard decision to cancel the order and be refunded. Here I am writing this review in mid-May 2023 and I still have not received the refund for my furniture order $$$. I have written email after email to this company, with mix messages about the timing and methodology in which my refund will be issued (can't issue refund to credit card because of timing; then told I would get a paper check; then told I would receive a link from Bill.com; then told after 2 months there was a miscommunication and I should have received a paper check in the mail). I have also attempted to call and no one will give me a phone number or direct contact to the accounting department who apparently is responsible for the issuing of refunds. There were two girls behind the counter and both saw me and instead of at least saying Hello or asking if I needed some assistance, they completely ignored me and kept chatting away. Let me explain to you why I wouldn't recommend this place...their hours are from 10-6, I went to the store around 11:30-12ish as I wanted to buy some coffee table books and maybe more. I walked up to the front door it was locked, I thought maybe they had to step out, no worries. I then see who I believe is the owner stare at me then proceed to do whatever she was doing. I tried the door once more, nothing. As I walked up the window to look at some books, the women simply stared at me again then proceeded to walk to the back. Instead of maybe coming to the door and saying I'm sorry we are closed right now or can you come back? I got simply nothing. I then called to see if they would answer, to ask what time to come back and they simple just let the phone ring. I get it things come up but when a customer just wanted to buy things from what I thought was a decent store and the owner themselves closes there doors during business hours and then hides in the back when a customer shows up. When I inquired about processing time, I found out they would arrive too late. I'm grateful I called in and got Jenna on the phone. She quickly came up with a solution and helped me place the order over the phone. She personally packaged my order so it would make it in time. I know a lot of businesses are struggling during the pandemic, what with shipping delays, difficulty sourcing goods, and staffing, but my experience has been stellar. Horrible customer service. I purchased a cabinet off of Instagram that was on sale. They requested my shipping info and even charged me shipping. Three days later I received an email, stating that the sale was cancelled and my card had been refunded. They sited an "Instagram glitch" and said that sale items could only be picked up at their store. I was super excited about the item I purchased and I would expect a growing business like Amber Interiors, to do right by their customers and make good on what was sold. I've been following Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors for years now so when she announced she was opening a brick and mortar store I was very excited. When I realized it was in the VALLEY - I think I fainted. Amber's blog and online shoppe are filled with wonderful inspiration where you can look at photos and swoon over her amazing design, pillows, and rugs - and then promptly go to her online shoppe and purchase all the amazing textiles you've just swooned over. The next level to this would be to experience it all in person. Right now you can visit the store by appointment - which I was intimidated to do at first, but I'm such a fan I thought, "Oh the heck with it - just call!" I knew I wanted to purchase a rug that I saw online so I came with purpose! As soon as I walked in I was in a wonderland of pillows, and rugs, and throws. I would have walked out with everything if I could. You can tell that every single item in the store is handled with such love and care. All the pillows and rugs are perfectly fluffed, folded, and displayed one by one - J.Crew got nothin' on Amber Interiors. I walked out with a beautiful persian rug, an awesome kilim pillow, and some mental snapshots of the beautiful store for inspiration. PLUS everyone was so nice and welcoming. The store is located off of Paralta and Ventura Blvd. in a cute shopping area called the "French Quarter" which I will now visit more often after seeing how cute it is. Without going into detail and spending a lot of time, I had an issue with a purchase, primarily due to mis-communication. It was resolved quickly and made for a happy customer; just as it should be. I love the aesthetic of this place and drive to LA a few times a year just to stock up for my home. Beatrice and all of the staff have been excellent over the years. I stock up on loads of pillows, rugs, and accessories and mail back whatever doesn't look good when I get home. It's been a game-changer for our house and has made updating a breeze, as I can't really tell what will look good together or in our space without actually seeing it there first! Yes, it's expensive, but the textile selection and quality of goods takes the guesswork out of ordering online, etc. I can't recommend the Shoppe or their staff more highly! read more

I love almost everything in this shop and the people in it are awesome, too. They have a great selection of cool stuff that you just want, and everyone is welcoming and helpful. The beautiful blonde at the counter dove in to help me and another customer who was on a mission, pulling items for closer inspection and providing info readily. Amber's husband and co-owner of the shop was equally warm and informative. I have now been stalking Amber Interiors online, looking at all of the neat rooms she's designed.
