Try booking an appointment with my friends Hair Stylest I called the day before to confirm my appointment, and I had a few questions. The guy who answered the phone was snooty rude and never gave me his name. He had a negative tone in his demeanor, when speaking, and had no idea what he was talking about so I asked to speak to the manager or to my hairstylist I had booked. Because this guy was clearly neither he said no one was available so I asked him to have them give me a call when they were available, and instead of agreeing to do so, or being somewhat professional, he just decided to hang up the phone. Obviously, I'm not going to bother going to a salon who carries them selves in this manner, or allows our staff to behave and such a petty and juvenile nature. I think it's best to hire people who have knowledge in the industry if you were going to have them answering your phones, and also have him behave in a dignified and professional manner. read more

I absolutely love this salon. It's quite a way for me to travel from NJ, but it's so worth it. Yesterday, I was in quite a pickle, and Rossano Ferreti came to the rescue. I needed to be camera ready for a TV pilot I was shooting, and Jasmin saved me! She did my hair and makeup and I felt (and looked) amazing! I've had my hair and makeup done by dozens of people, so I know when someone is great. And Jasmin is great. She knew exactly what colors would look best for me and did my hair to last the hour plus of filming. (It still looks great today, the morning after.) She was so sweet and fast! I felt like I was in good hands. I didn't have to worry about my looks and could focus completely on my performance (one of the most important gigs in my TV career). Thank you, Jasmin! I want to just give a highlight on one of the talented stylist, Andrew. I was nervous to walk in and color my hair as I have very dark fine asian hair so color will look brassy if not done correctly. Andrew my colorist recommended some soft highlights of an ashy tone. He is very creative in his technique of foiling and color painting as I watched him from start to finish! I was so please and beyond happy with my color as it was the perfect brunette/soft ashy blonde shade. I have gotten a million compliments and Andrew is definitely a WOW colorist! I recently got my hair cut by a man named Valentino. Not only does my hair look horrible, but this man was so rude and tasteless that I left in tears. This salon is a wonderful place, so it shocks me that they would employ such a classless asshole at their establishment. He spent half of my haircut talking about his homosexual sexual encounters - which was just inappropriate. The rest he spent talking about the owner of the salon, saying how they are involved in bad business and don't treat their employees well. I hope the salon can fire him, so I can bring my business back to them. As a publicist, my clients (2 Oscar winning actresses, one actress with a show on ABC, a musician who was up for best new artist last year at the Grammys, and others) I like bringing my a list clients to my favorite spots when they're in nyc. Balayage (hand-painted highlights, no foils) is an art, and not many can do it. especially on Asian hair. The placement, the color, the technique must be SPOT ON to look beautiful and natural. Too orangey, and it can look cheap. Too ashy, and it can look stripper-esque. Too many streaks is a signature FAIL, and looks fake and overdone. SO.... being in the beauty industry and getting some recommendations from top-notch girls-in-the-know, I went here after hearing that Miranda, the salon's balayage specialist, was trained in Paris (where Balayage was invented) and did beautiful, uber-natural work. Miranda in her no-nonsense way, assured me that there would be no orangey or ashiness--and wow... i got soft caramel tones hand-painted throughout my hair, expertly placed to look natural and subtle. the highlights were woven in so seamlessly with no marks of demarcation --just hushed ombre accents shimmering throughout my hair. expensive and sophisticated, but so, so, worth it. FLAWLESS technique, miranda! Expert work that has solicited compliments from strangers. The best part of balayage is that the highlights grow out naturally without telltale roots -- and you only have to do it twice a year. and it looks so much more natural than traditional highlights. no having to touch up every 4 weeks is worth the $$ in my book. highly recommended. read more

Needed to get rid of the frizz and waves for the summer. I have been getting theJapanese at another high-end salon for years. The stylist who cuts my hair had moved here - he is fabulous. If you want a wonderful haircut go to Ernie. Then leave pronto! I got talked into Keratin which was expensive and useless. I have had to wear my hair pulled back most of the summer because of all the waves. For this I paid $500. When I complained the stylist who did the treatment never even called me. I sat in the chair completely prepared for a treatment. The moment when she just touched my hair became a sensation. Shushan's warm energy wrapped me up from my head to the toes. Your cut will look just as good a month later than the day you left the salon. That takes skill. Kristen's coloring skills are also like no one I've seen before. I have been a client of the London, Paris and New York salon for 10 years and built up what I thought was a trusted relationship with my stylist in New York. I have always had beautiful shiny healthy virgin hair and in March decided to explore the idea of going blonde - which I had never done before. After speaking to my stylist and the colourist I was told it would be fabulous and that of course there would be some damage to the hair quality but nothing major and that with good products and maintenance it would be fine! I trusted the advice so went ahead. They took me from dark brown to platinum blonde in one seating which completely destroyed my fine hair. Subsequently chunks of hair have broken off I have had to go back to brown with an ammonia free dye (at another salon) and have had to cut my hair into a bob. This whole experience has been absolutely devastating. I put my trust and faith in the salon and stylists and they have completely let me down. When I went back a few months later to show them the monumental damage that has been done I was given some free products and a treatment which does not make up for the emotional distress this experience has put me through. To add salt to the wound things were flipped on to me and the salon didn't accept or acknowledge the blame instead saying that it was my fault for not coming back sooner. GO TO GRAY! Gray is the best stylist I've ever had. I have medium length straight brown hair and I got a cut with a little movement & some subtle highlights. My boyfriend (who does not notice these things) has stopped me in the middle of the day and say "your hair looks awesome!" People close to me are noticing that I "look good" and I think it is because my hair just looks great. It doesn't look different, but it just looks noticeably better and nobody can put their finger on what it is.
