This food is disgusting. The chicken parm was old and not breaded. Barely a strip of cheese. No Parmesan. No garlic bread. Nothing included with dinner. The sauce was luke warm and tasted straight from a jar. The server was pregnant and let you know she hated every minute of waiting on you. The cost was very expensive. The food very low quality. Went into this restaurant last night at 5:00 pm. There were four adults in my party. We stood by a sign that clearly stated " please wait to be seated" as the four of us stood there a kitchen cook just looked at us twice then two other men came out of the back room and just stood there staring at us. I then said " we would like to be seated" apparently the hostess left the dinning room. We ordered veal parmigiana, Caesar salad, chicken parmigiana. The rolls were delicious as well as the olive oil and olive paste spread. The Caesar was advertised in the menus that it came with anchovies on top, when it didn't we asked for them. The reply we got from the waitress was " we ran out" ok so you don't tell someone before they order it? It didn't appear to matter to the waitress that we were dissatisfied. We then asked for more bread and we're told that there would be a 2.50 charge. Ok so no anchovies doesn't matter but then your charging 2.50 for bread?? My wife and I were in town for a race and we wanted Italian. Rossellini's was a great find. We were greeted and sat quickly. The service was great, a number of the waiters working helped us. We had one waiter that took our orders, brought us bread and salads, someone else dropped off our drinks, another cleared our salad plates, and someone different delivered our food. Everything we had was perfect. The bread, the house salads, the house dressing was all great. I had the Pappardelle alla Bolognese that was fantastic. My wife had the Veal Parmigiana. Our waitress told us they were working on a large table. Overall service wasn't good but food was great. Waitress brought two dishes over and used my cloth napkin to serve them to my party cause the plates were hot. No she didn't get me a new one but returned my old one and said thanks. I took 6 customers there tonight and it was a terrible experience. The waitress was in another world. I ordered a filet medium w pasta and a dinner salad. I received a dried out filet, no salad, and no pasta! The waitress stated that she asked for pasta twice but the kitchen wouldn't give it to her and if she asked again they may throw it at her. Mu daughter loves Italian food and decided to have a special dinner there for her bachelorette party. We made reservations at 630 Friday night. I get there and walk in- the first guy completely overlooks me and greets the people who come in after me. He sits me down and Brings me a glass of water. The other five people in our party come and sit down. Nobody comes over for at least 10 minutes. Finally the waitress comes over brings us all water & takes our order. She then brings out our order and we never saw her again until she brought over the check. The food was good but the service was horrible... then to top it off a man who I assume was the owner or manager came over and says can you please leave I have another party that needs this room . By this point we had been there about an hour and 20 minutes. However we had literally just finished our food and got the bill. So it is not like we were just sitting around yapping. I felt that was very disrespectful and downright rude. I will not be back. Oh and I'd like to add- we were a party of 6 and the place was not busy. They chose to sit us in the back room- we didn't ask. I'm new to the area and was really craving Italian food last week. The only place open late was Rossellini's. And I'm glad it was! The bartender, Scott, made great drinks and the food was amazing. This is one of very few negative reviews that have submitted. I took my sister and her family here for their 30th wedding anniversary, very disappointing. Everything here is ala carte a $26.00 entree does not even come with a dinner salad. The food arrived very quickly and was sub par. We did not even eat half of the food and left. The server came out to us in the parking lot and complained that we did not leave the 18% auto gratuity. I told him there is no law for auto gratuity and told him to get away from me. We came in as a group of 17 and the guy who was setting up our table said "No. No," very rudely when saying we wanted to set our tables in a U instead of two separate tables, so that we could all kind of face each other. When we insisted, another person came up and said "what do you want us to throw the plates at you?" One of our group said "no. We have no problem passing the plates ourselves." Due to group politics we stayed but if it were up to me I would have left at this point. I'm assuming the rudeness was stemming from the fact they were closing in 50 minutes and he knew he'd be there an extra 20 minutes if he sat us, but still. 17 people? And for THESE prices? How can you sabotage that? As a business owner, I would've fired this worker immediately. I suppose it's a bad sign when one place is empty and another across the street has a 70 minute wait (which is why we came here in the first place). The waiter continued to be rude when we sat, and so one of our group requested a different server. The second server was much nicer, and if he sat us from the get-go this place may have gotten 3 stars, but alas, the food was expensive and everyone who ordered eggplant parmigiana received it under cooked, and the spaghetti was a little cold as well. I wanted to like this place. We walked in on a Thursday evening around 6ish, and the very first impression was to turn around and walk out. Against my (wife's) better judgment, we powered through. We were the only diners in the place. I understand a Thursday night isn't the busiest night for most places, but except for one guy who came in for the bar, we were the only two there the entire time. The place smelled weird. It was musty, hot amd humid. Maybe the AC didnt work, maybe the owners don't want to pay the electric bill- either way it was hot and moist. Another delightful discovery was that the tablecloths were actually paper covers; not unusual if I was picking crabs on a picnic table at the beach, but not what would be considered even remotely acceptable for a "fine dining" italian joint. Although there were at least 4 people working the front of the house, the bartender was both the hostess and waiter for our table. We were invited to take a seat "anywhere we wanted". Okay. Admittedly, he was qui k to bring us some water and menus, but then he disappeared behind the bar for an insanely long time. Aftwe we flagged him down we were able to pla e our orders, chicken alfredo and the shrimp special. The shrimp special was marked as one of their signature dishes and as one of the more expensive items on the menu, I had high hopes. The best part of the meal was how quickly the meal arrived. I was literally 5 or 6 minutes after ordering that the food was on the table. In a half laugh, half grimmace, my wife quipped how well the microwave must work. The problem was, it didnt. After digging in, she noted that the middle of the chicken was cold. Not undercooked, just cold. Even after a good salting, the chicken alfredo was bland. But I can't believe it was a bland as my shrimp dish. So, the menu touted it as shrimp cooked in an olive oil and white wine sauce. I thought it might be similar to a scampi, but even if it wasn't, how can you go wrong with shrimp sauteed in olive oil and white wine? Well, you can. Maybe this frozen shrimp slathered in schmere concoction would have tasted better had I ordered this a week or so ago when the sauce was made, but I doubt it. It was at the same time bland and old. Happened to stumble in here for lunch a number of years back on a random weekday. The owner was the only person in the restaurant and he was also acting as our waiter. It started off as any other dining experience would and then it got weird. Before he took our order, he came up to the table and asked my wife "Is that your Mini Cooper parked out back?" Yes, she answered cautiously. "Can it really get up to 120 MPH?" I don't think they would put it on there for show, she replied. While we looked over the menu, this guy was outside (probably smoking) and just happened to walk across the parking lot and look into my wife's car. What he was actually looking for was beyond either of us. With her and I being the only customers, I was hoping his next question wasn't "How big is your trunk?" Anyway, I got a small pizza and she got a steak (this was when she was still a uneducated carnivore). During the meal, our waiter returns to ask us "Where do you live?!" Not to ask us how we're doing or if we need anything but where we lived. I thought he wanted an address for a second, but my wife told him "Holly Hill." His eyes lit up. "You're extra special to us then!" This guy would have been flamboyantly interested in the air had we not shown up. The whole situation made us really uncomfortable. He came to take our plates and noticing that my wife ate her entire meal, he loudly stated "You must have been hungry!" So the food was good. All of our pop refills came from single cans that were behind the bar. Not sure if their fountain machine was broke or if that was common practice. This is an authentic Italian restaurant and I know this because I lived in Rome for 4-years and to me its one of the best I've been to so far in the U.S. For people who eat Italian at Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill this is not your restaurant because everything is made fresh with healthy types of fat(i.e. olive oil). Creamy sauces like alfredo are not Italian and are loaded with fat, you would never find an alfredo dish in Italy. Moreover, the food is well priced for the great quality that you receive. Each dish is prepared fresh, you receive large portions and everything is delicious. They have a great hand picked selection of regional Italian wines not found in most restaurants. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious as well. It was one of the few restaurants along with Joe's Crab Shack and Boondocks that was worth visiting in Daytona Beach. All were great food, great service and had HEALTHY selections. We actually went two nights in a row to Rossellini's!!! that's how good it is.... The service is great but the hostess needs to be more focused on the customers. The atmosphere is right, the location, the set up, it reminded me of when I was in Rome!! I wish the restaurant would be here in Raleigh as I'm sure they would be busy all the time and the restaurant would be more appreciated!! My boyfriend and I walked in for a romantic dinner this past Saturday night. As we parked we noticed three employees in the back of the restaurant standing and staring at us. We walked in and were seated my boyfriend had to use the restroom I happened to turn around and what looked like a manager were starring right through me. I felt a little uncomfortable and trying not to think anything of it. I then turned my head again and he was still starring a hole through me. I started to feel nervous and uncomfortable... as my boyfriend walked out from the restroom he sat down and felt the same uncomfortable vibe. I had the fettucci al Aragos ( lobster pasta ) and my friend had the penne siciliano (vegetarian pasta ) Lanny was our server and he took great care of us. I give it 4 stars simply because the restaurant was empty and we were the only ones in there, yet the original waiter kept going back and forth to the kitchen and asking them questions that we've asked him. And we heard how the kitchen staff was yelling at him, which made for an uncomfortable moment. We were here on a short family stay at the Hilton, but had no desire to eat there, choosing instead to try any interesting looking local businesses instead. We were all in the mood for pasta, and this place showed up on Yelp as walking distance from our lodging. I had a nice glass of Cabernet, and my husband had a house specialty cocktail called Monkey Business which was loaded with a variety of different spirits- very strong. Our kids shared a plate of fettuccine Alfredo with some very nicely-grilled chicken on top. My husband had veal Parmesan and spaghetti, which is what he always gets at a place that serves veal, since that is a few and far between occurrence around here. I had another house specialty called the chicken Mamma Mia, which I think was a sort of a chicken version of Saltimbocca. Prosciutto and cheese and a nice basil-based sauce. It came with pasta which made the plate very full. It was truly delicious. The girls shared a cannoli which was homemade and looked wonderful, but I was too full to taste it. My husband and I wanted to try this restaurant since it seems pretty from the outside. The one star is for the food. The bread basket has nice lite pita like bread and it comes with pesto. We ordered the carpaccio since I love carpaccio. When it arrived it looked looked like they took pancetta, drowned it in olive oil and served it with some cheese and salad. It is hands down the worst carpaccio I have had. My husband ordered the filet mignon and I asked if they could make me fettucini alfredo with chicken and spinach. They said they were out of spinach. I asked for broccoli rabe, which they didn't have either so I went for arugula. The waiter forgot to ask my husband how he wanted his steak cooked and came back to ask ten minutes later. The food came out and it was pretty good. I asked to get mine to go since it was delicious but the doggy bag did not come even though I paid for it. After dinner I ordered a tiramisu to share. The waiter took my order and started to leave. My husband had to cock his head and beckon the waiter, actually trying to get his order in before the waiter left for what seemed like another eon. My husband also got a godiva coffee and I got the diavolo. All were good but we were getting turned off by the waiter. I noticed that our waiter kept forgetting the aformentioned things. And by the end of the meal my husband and I both agreed that we were made to feel unwelcomed by our waiter's tone and unattentiveness. We were trying to be as polite as possible and did enjoy the food. I was a bit turned off at how hoity toity the restaurant was. It was by no means on par with any restaurant I have been to in nyc for the amount Rossellini's was charging. I understand that Daytona is not Nyc but if you are going to ask someone at what "temperature" they want their steak cooked instead of asking them how they want it done for the sake of seeming more chic, at least make sure your service and cuisine are reflective of the pricing. read more

Scrumptious homemade pasta! Wonderful service and the outdoor patio was just what we needed on a full moon night.

The ambiance is rustic, light is a little dim, lots of pictures of Italy and some paintings. Menu is traditional. We ordered clams and mussels for appetizer. They served as flat bread with tapenade which is free the first serving but $3.00 for a refill, but it was worth it because it was tasty and addictive. We had fettuccini shrimp scampi, spaghetti con frutti de mare, spaghetti alla carbonara and octopus on red sauce. Wow, that was awesome meal. To top it all that, we all shared a cannoli and tiramisu. ***Disclaimer: We only come here for drinks and dessert so if you are looking to find out if they have good linguine you should probably read a different review.*** We like this place because it's a nice place that is close to the hotel we stay at with outdoor seating and clientele that has sleeves and no airbrushing on their shirts. Usually by the time we make it here we have stuffed our faces already so there's only room for booze. It's right on the main drag so that can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Definitely the place for people watching. And they put up plexiglass to separate you from the animals walking by. Parking can be a little tricky if it's a crowded weekend as there is only a small lot in the back. The drink selection from the bar is pretty large as is the wine list. And everything is made with a pretty heavy hand which we like. We usually get something with limoncello in it because one of us really likes the idea of limoncello but is unable to admit to herself how much it sucks. So after we force that down we order something good...like patron shots and/or long islands and/or mimosas and/or wine and/or all of the above. This place is very classy and has excellent waiters. They are nicely dressed and address you promptly. The waiter was able to suggest meals to us and we had two appetizers. The eggplant one and the caprese salad. They had a decent taste. The main courses were huge plates, easily shared. I have the Rossellini's Farfalle pasta. It was a heavier dish than I imagined, but was robust in flavor and scrumptious. I was a little disappointed there wasn't a stuffed shell, manacotti or ravioli dish, which are typically my favorite to try, but they did have a good variety of meats and vegetarian dishes. I had the peach bellini with my meal and it was crisp with just enough sweetness for my taste. I would recommend giving this place a try. If you are in the mood for Italian, then this is the spot for you. My group of 5 went there on a Thursday night around 6:45pm. There was no wait, and our food arrived quickly. The mozzarella tasted fresh and went well with the prosciutto. I loved their bread with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil at the table because you get to choose the ratio of oil to vinegar. For my main entree, I decided on the spaghetti con frutti de mare. The white wine sauce was flavorful and complimented the mussels and clams. It does take effort to pull the mollusks from their homes, but it is worth it. I wished I saved room for the tiramisu, but the main entree was big. read more
